At work I have a Mac and PC. I finally got Synergy working with Windows 7 64 bit and Mac OS X 10.4.11. On the Windows 7 side, I installed the latest client, +1.3.4. On the Mac, I had to use an older 1.3.0 client. I'm assuming the newer client works on OS 10.5.

With the default set up, the Mac side would just say connecting and never do anything. To fix it:

On the mac side, in the SynergyKM control panel you have to un-check "Enable Bonjour" and then use the IP address of your server under Client configuration. It wouldn't work with computer name. After that, it connected no problem.
Turns out, you just add the Time Capsule to your WINS servers. Problem solved. I also set mine up with user names and passwords on the device.
I finally did the security+ after reading the first book two years ago. I've started organizing and cataloging my baseball cards, 32,000 so far. I've gotten pretty far along with my garage projects and back yard project. I think the Snoreguard is working, and other things like better diet, no beer, etc. I feel like I have more energy to do things.

It's partly because of my schedule at work. It's 12:30-9pm. So I have that time in the morning to do whatever I want.
http://blog.movinrightalong.com

I'm going to burn them to CD, but also look into software that exports from iTunes to a usb stick. That way it copies the play list and all the mp3s.

My tips for the coolest play lists?

You want to have songs that mean something to that person or course. But the most important aspect is songs that remind YOU of that person. A random collection of songs thrown on a CD doesn't mean much. But you give someone a list that says, hey, here's what reminds me of you, and it's special.

One thing I love doing to, is to have two versions of the same song. For instance, Heard it through the grapevine as sung by CCR and Marvin Gaye. I like to end the play list with the newer version. It kind of makes it come full circle.
http://blog.movinrightalong.com

I'm on a tear of doing stuff, and not sitting around wasting time anymore.

I'm sure pictures would be awesome, if I had the desire to upload them.

Built a bridge in the back yard, going from the grass to a planned gravel path.

Built two shelf/plant holders on the porch.

Cleaned up old porch furniture, and spray painted them funky 70s bright colors.

Finished making my new computer (funky colors as well).

Almost finished it's twin computer (gotta fix some cables).

Imaged my computer with Acronis ( to easily set up the twin).

Imaged the living room computer Shuttle in case it dies.

Set up the Shuttle in the living room. Still working on weird display issues with the component HDTV. Got the wireless keyboard and mouse working fine.

Organized the garage. I can get the truck and Holly's car in now.

Took apart my old computer desk. An 8 foot monstrosity. I kept the wood that I could salvage, and the top. I'm thinking the top might make a good counter for the laundry room.

Set up my Readerware Library software on a server. It let's me track books and stuff.

Installed software on other servers for IIS (web pages) and FTP. Still need to configure them for outside access. Set up some test pages.

Finished 3 books in about 3 weeks.

Continued reading computer books for certs. and what not.

Did your mom?

Working on a FreeNAS server.

Installed Lightscribe software that lets you burn text onto special DVDS/CDS. Burnt a couple disks.

Set up the Mac G4 tower Arlo gave me. Added it to my home domain, set up a RAID, etc.

Started the baseball card organization process. Gotta put them in new, smaller boxes, then add them to Beckett.

Got Bellsouth DSL installed as an addition to Brighthouse Cable internet.

Set up my new Netgear router. It let's me have two WAN(internet) connections. I have different ports going to each.

Wrote a poem or two.

Working on backing up and fixing Holly's computer. Sims doesn't like it much. I may give her one of the new ones if it runs alright on Windows 7.

Starting setting up a Windows/Acronis image server. It should let me image a computer over ethernet.

Been working out about 3 times a week. Except I was sick almost all of last week. Going to hit it hard this week. Maybe go up to 4 times next week.

Started setting up a streaming server, to stream content to the PS3.

Overall, feeling good.

Is it guilt that keeps me doing things, or the actual desire to change?
http://blog.movinrightalong.com

I basically scrapped parts from my old computer. I accidentally killed the processor while trying to replace the fan.

I'll update with specs and pictures. But a nice story first.

In what may be the definition of irony, I was installing the last few pieces of software and windows updates on the first one. This was in preparation for building the second one and imaging the drive.

Then I started getting an awesome blue screen of death. I thought it might be a Windows update, so I rolled back with System Restore. Still had the problem.

Long story short, I removed Acronis Disk Director, and I found it is not compatible with Windows 7. No more blue screen, but I got startup errors every time I restarted, and it would boot sometimes, sometimes not.

So I just rolled back to a previous day, before several windows updates. Now I just have to install one at a time and restart, and shutdown and restart until I find the culprit. I know there are reported blue screens in Windows XP with one of the updates, but I haven't heard of it with 7.
http://blog.movinrightalong.com

So that's fun.

After almost a month of getting it started, I'm feeling better about the whole thing. I still have to cut the ice cream habit, but I'm doing pretty good with cutting out the beer.

I feel like I've got more energy, as evidenced by the fact that I'm wide awake at 9:30 and updating this shit. I'll get a picture off my blackberry and post it later. The main thing is, I feel better today, and I went out and did some Black Friday shopping. Admittedly, I just installed the update, which is the XP mode update and Microsoft Virtual PC. I didn't have to put in a key or anything, I assume because it's Windows 7 ultimate. It took a minute to install, and now I have a Windows XP desktop.

The real test?
