Over the past weekend, we had a girl's night out at the Rouge Hotel in Washington, DC. Since it was a photographer (me) and a couple models, we decided to spend most of the night shooting. Which we did and had a blast. This is one of the images. I call this one "On Fire". Click the image to see full size.

World Horror Con

Unfortunately, I'm not going to be able to attend World Horror Con this year. I am, however, going to have work at Horror Find Weekend, if all goes well. I signed up for a panel but I am going to spend a couple weeks in Florida with my sister to aid her in recovery from surgery. Hopefully, I'll be able to get everything done in time, even if I end up having to mail my artwork in to Horror Find.

Sharp Teeth

So, I'm reading this book,Sharp Teeth, by Toby Barlow. It's kind of an urban fantasy about werewolves in Los Angeles, written in free verse. Werewolf poetry!

I am so digging it thus far and it is inspiring my muse. Always a good thing. If you haven't had a chance to pick up Toby Barlow's debut novel, I highly recommend it.

Pamelina

One of the most fascinating people I have ever met is Pamelina. You've probably seen her artwork here and there and never knew it. She's had an amazing career as an artist and is still going strong. Even more, she's lived a fascinating life.

I first met Pamelina a few years back at World Horror Con. Both of us had art in the artshow and we started talking. And we talked. And talked. And talked. Most people who know me, know I love to hear myself talk. I'm not sure but I think she did most of the talking, which suited me just fine. I really enjoyed hearing what she had to say.

I do not often get the chance to photograph male subjects. When the chance came up to shoot my friend Phil, I jumped at it. Not only is he gorgeous but he has that rock and roll mystique that girls just love (he's happily married, sorry ladies).

I started putting this together and realized it looked kind of familiar. I did some digging and realized she reminded me of the cover of one of Natalie Imbruglia's albums, which was unintentional. I added in the background after that and decided to call the image "Torn" in honor of it.
