13th Annual International Color Awards

I’m proud to announce that my photograph of a baby giraffe won second place in the amateur wildlife division of the 13^th Annual International Color Awards. My entry is listed on the Color Awards website here.

This was a shot of a baby giraffe at the Memphis Zoo sitting between his mother’s legs as the rest of the herd milled about. He would side eye me from the safety of his mother while I was trying to move around to get a good angle.

Dodho Magazine Zoo Portfolio

Jurassic Eye

The Spanish photography magazine “Dodho” is taking portfolio entries to publish in it’s quarterly magazine. I submitted a portfolio of 12 of my zoo photographs. WKNO The Best Times

Today I taped a segment on my Zoo photography with the WKNO show “The Best of Times”. I’m not sure yet when the program will air, but I will let you know as soon as I have a broadcast date. The point of the show was taking up photography as a hobby in retirement. They shot an interview and scenes of me taking photos at the Zoo.

Florida Museum of Photographic Arts

The Florida Museum of Photographic Arts (FMoPA) has selected my Eagle for their International Photographic Competition exhibit beginning June 22^nd, 2018. The exhibit can be viewed here: https://fmopa.org/ipc2018.

The FMoPA is located in the Waterfront Arts District of Downtown Tampa, Florida in Rivergate Plaza’s architecturally significant Cube, a soaring six-story atrium recognized as one of the most impressive interior spaces on the west coast of Florida. The museums stated mission is to “collect, preserve, and exhibit historic and contemporary works by nationally and internationally known photographic artists.”

SE Center for Photography

The SE Center for Photography gallery of Greenville, South Carolina has accepted my photo “Blues City Flipper” (click for larger image) for their Monochrome exhibit. The exhibition will open on January 6^th, 2017 and run through January 31^st, 2017. Checkout the exhibit website here: http://www.sec4p.com/monochrome-ss. Glad I could send them a little Memphis for their gallery exhibit.
