I am posting here today to announce the relaunch of my design site curtisedesign.com! Please point yourself over to check out some new updated work, some you may have seen posted here, some completely new.

On another note, you may notice this new site has a blog built in, and as so I will no long be posting to this blog. It was a nice run, over 160 posts, over 250 comments, all over the past year and a half.

But now I will have a clean slate to work with, new topics, new ideas, new work, and hopefully anyone who reads or views my blog will join me over at my new site and give me comments of love!

Hello friends and foes, I have all but completely and outrightly miss treated this blog as of late, but I promise these things will change in the near future for this poor neglected blog.

Until then, you can set your sets to a little blog contribution called Design-Friends me and my two friends from good ol' Art Institute, Danni and Mayra, are putting together and posting to twice a week.

Check out Danni and Mayra's blogs here and here (respectively).

I will be posting my first of hopefully many posts on that blog tomorrow night, but for now you can check out both posts by Danni and Mayra who seem to have made me look like a blog flake (as Mayra would put it).

Also, for now you can feast your eyes on my quick little design square I made for the blog tonight, my very first contribution!

Book Preview

...and I apologize, I will try to relieve the fact that I have been the worstest blogger in the blog universe for the past month. But here I am today with a little update. As you will see above I am linking to my little book I did a while back...and you may wonder, "why is that?". Well, Blurb is now offering what I always wanted, a hardcover wrap print. What this means is that you no longer have to fuss with the dust jacket on the hardcover version (which is my most favorite kinda of book), the image is printed right there on the cover.

So go ahead, don't be afraid...buy one. Oh, and while your at it, buy me one too :) (help a broke guy out)

Hello, and welcome to post 5 out of 5 of the childhood illustration series. This particular piece focuses on my childhood cat, who passed on last year at 17 years of age. She was the best cat to me even though she was quite grumpy when I was younger. Here she is depicted waiting outside the bathroom door like she often had done.

I hope you have enjoyed this series of illustrations, 5 illustration posts in 10 days coming to an end. Look forward to more posts in the future, and many other new things.

Story goes as this: I thought it would be funny to smash a ketchup packet on my face and scream bloody murder whilst eating lunch at school in the 4th grade. Needless to say, no one thought it was very funny, my face smelt bad for the rest of the day, and I am permanently scarred for life. Please enjoy.

Hello again, here is post number two of the childhood series. This one is representing my Jack in the Box childhood. As a child with two working parents me, my brother, and my sister would ride our bikes down to the local Jack in the Box and eat lunch pretty much everyday. Hello, here we have an example of one the cheesier memories of yore. As a young pup I used to listen to my walkman and my one and only tape, the Olsen twins with there big hit, "Peanut Butter".

Some new things on the horizon, a new batch of design posts planned for next week. So fresh and so new. Also, working on a new website that is better to showcase my portfolio, to update, and which continues to show the newest of me. Hopefully in the near future I will have more time to work on projects and just all around become a better and better designer.

To kick off this chapter in my design life I changed things up around here, and am posting this little post.

Hello all, long time no see huh? Yep, I have been working on stuff lately, though it's been stuff I probably shouldn't post due to the fact it hasn't been finalized with the client as of yet. This is a t-shirt illustration I submitted to a freelance client that just wasn't what they were looking for, so I thought I would share it with you.
