My mom was hoping that she could attack it from the inside, so she went around drilling holes in her ceiling hoping to find honey.  She was able to find it, but just not reach it.  So up on the roof we went (I was her lovely freaked out assistant).  You have to understand my nervousness has justification.  2 1/2 years ago my mother fell off this very lader.  Well technically it slid right out from under her.  She shattered her heal bone.  Her foot still hurts her constantly and she will probably never walk the same.  So yes, I have perfect reason to be nervous right?

After about an hour we found the hive.  Holy cow, it was huge, there was honey comb everywhere.  We just kept drilling and pulling out more of their hive.  I got a bit nervous when a few bees wouldn’t leave us alone, luckily we cleared out all the hive, washed it up and got down without any drama!  Now we cross our fingers that it doesn’t rain before we get a chance to fix the hole.

We ended our day with some retail therapy and pedicures.  We feel much better.

Whitni’s baby shower was AMAZING.  Laura and my mom were the hostesses with the mostestest!  All the cute gifts made me a bit baby hungry, but the hunger lastest for about 10 minutes and was gone as quick as it came.  Never fear, I am DONE (as long as I have a say in it).

Lee and I got invited to be part of the Dixie State Alumni Committee for the AZ chapter.  They have such fun parties every few months and now we get to be a part of the organizing and planning.  We have met some pretty great people and are excited to have a great excuse to spend more time with them.

We had our 2nd annual Activity Day Articles of Faith Carnival.  The girls all seemed to love it! I am so blessed to have great leaders to serve with and such wonderful girls.  All of our booths were centered around the 13 Articles of Faith.  I am so proud of my girls, they are getting so good at their memorization we may have to make it a bit more challenging next year.

• Kissing Booth – choose a Hershey Kiss, on the bottom of the kiss is a number, they have to recite the corresponding AOF.
• Balloon Pop – the balloons have word strips of the AOF that needs to be put in the correct order.
• Name that Tune – name the number of the AOF that is playing
• Ball Toss – toss the ball into one of the 13 buckets, using the keyword name which AOF it lands in.
• Swat It – swat the picture of the AOF that is called out
• Fish Out of Water – fish out a little numbered fishy and recite the AOF
• Squirt It – using a water gun, spray a numbered golf ball off a tee, recite the AOF once it has fallen
• Plinko – drop a disc and depending on where it lands you get to choose the AOF from the category to sing
• Ring Toss – toss rings onto bottles and recite the AOF

Once they passed off all 13 articles of faith and went to all the booths they got to play on the teeter totter and merry go round.  Plus they got cotton candy, popcorn, nachos and lots of candy!

Dinner Detective hot date – a few months ago I purchased a groupon for a dinner detective murder mystery dinner.  Lee and I had gone to something similar a few years back and thought it was fun.  Well, this was not at all like the last one we went to. The acting was very ammeter, the food was sub par, and the whole story line missed purpose.  The hardest part for me was the crude innuendoes and jokes.  We had invited another couple to join us and I was very embarrassed for them.  They were super good sports about it, but if they start avoiding me in the halls at church and stop returning my phone calls I will have to bribe them to renew our friendship.

Sunday night we had our last family dinner with Grandma before she heads back to UT.  We were all able to share our fondest memories of her and also hear what some of her favorite memories are.  We had people that have know her all their lives and people that have know her for only a few months.  It’s amazing how many lives she has touched, most everyone was teary eyed by the end.  She is such an amazing grandma, I sure do love her and look forward to the fall when we get her back.

Craft Day – love getting together with these ladies and crafting away.  Today we got a special visitor for lunch, he makes me smile

Recital – Kailey, Kennedy and Karsynn all had their spring recital for piano and violin.  They did such a great job, I was sure a proud mamma.  I even got emotional during Kailey’s duet with Morgan (her teacher) since it might be the last time they get to play together for awhile.  Darn change.  I’ve come up with a great solution – fly Morgan in every week for lessons!  Win Win Right?

EVMCO – Can I just say these concerts are AMAZING, the best concerts I’ve ever attended.  Brett and Brandon Stewart are musical geniuses. I am tickled to have Kennedy be a part of such a wonderful program.  Kailey wants to join in the fall which makes me even happier.

Singing Gig – Harmony sounds had a performance on Saturday.  I sure do love singing with these ladies!  We got invited back to sing for the Diamond Backs – I will keep you posted on the date once we find out.

Company – Lee’s parents were in town for a few days and we really enjoyed having them around.  The girls got spoiled rotten, they sure do love their Grammy and Grampy.

Work visit – GoDaddy has been a very “secure” work environment for as long as I can remember.  They’ve never allowed any visitors on any of the premises.  That rule changed!  Kendyl and I were able to go have lunch with Lee inside his work.  He gave us a tour and showed us around.  It was fun to finally see where he slaves aways every day all day long.  We just might have to make this part of our weekly routine.

No Homework – Since this last week was AIMS testing we were homework free!  Every night was so chill, no stress, no frustration, and no tears.  I loved it. We even got two free breakfasts for the girls, thanks McDonalds.

No Volunteering – Don’t get me wrong, I really enjoy volunteering, but it sure takes up a lot of time.  With the AIMS testing they aren’t allowed to have volunteers on the campus.  So for the last 2 weeks I haven’t gone, I’m feeling mighty free with my calendar not filled up as much.

A huge bonus was having a toilet there. Some people would argue that true camping does not permit such a luxury. Since it was already there, prepped with locking doors and toilet paper, how could I resist. I wasn’t about to go water a tree every time with that toilet house just a few yards away.

A few years ago I was introduced to the tastiest version of smores I have ever had at a family reunion up in Idaho. Yeah, the traditional chocolate, marshmallow graham cracker smore is fine, but I need my salty fix. I’ve made a few little changes, but I think I have perfected my favorite campfire treat!  In the picture I added some whipping cream, totally not necessary though.

Meanwhile Kennedy and I had just finished up at the pediatric urgent care for her pink eye.  We came home to Lee re-mopping the floor (yes, he is amazing) and Kendyl crying in her room.  When I went to see what was wrong she told me she had fallen and her arm was hurting.  After cleaning her up in the tub we decided we better play it safe.  So, back to urgent care I went.  Kendyl was such a trouper, no crying or complaining.  The Dr’s and nurses all doted over her for being so tough.  Sure enough she had fractured her radius bone in her left arm.  Now she is sporting a sparkly pink cast.

• German Pancakes – can I just say my girls and I are spoiled.  Lee cooks the best breakfasts ever (and dinners, and lunches, and desserts)!
• Swap Meet – Sabina, Teja and Boston joined us.  Crazy retired people take their swap meet shopping pretty seriously.  Karsynn and Kendyl used their chart money to buy cute purses.
• In n Out – I think all the crazy retired shoppers all had the same lunch plan as we did since In n Out was swamped with them.
• Beautifying – Kaileys hair salon “Bows” and Kennedy’s nail and make-up shop called “Glamour” kept everyone happy for awhile.
• Park – played for hours
• Movie – yep, another movie, the bike ride got quickly switched once we walked outside.  95′ bike ride, no thank you.
• Navajo Tacos – one of Kaileys favorites. We also made pretzels, yummy

Day 7 – Lees Day

• Funnel cakes – so tasty
• Mesa Sparks – Lee took the girls, gave me a little break.  Thanks Sabina for the suggestion, the girls loved it
• Date night – Yippee!  I love date night

• Haircuts – well needed trims, I’m excited for easy combing!
• Picnic and pool party – Debbie invited us over to her place to swim. We picked up the sandwiches and she supplied the drinks, veggie tray, chips, and treats. The girls were in their glory when they realized Molly and Jordan would be there. Even though the pool was chilly and the hot tub was HOT, we still had a great time.
• Dinner with the missionaries – I choose a yummy creamy prosciutto pasta dish the Lee cooks along with caesar salad, garlic bread, and roasted broccoli. Loved every bite. The missionaries weren’t very talkative but when you are stuffing your face with amazing food, who is?
• Temple – we ended the night hitting a temple session. Since the new year we have been trying to go every month. January was great, but we never managed to go in February. This time was fun because not only did Mom and Jeff join but so did Morgan, Sabina, and Laura. Its always nice to go with family and friends.

Day 5 – Kennedys Day

• Waffles – Best Waffle Recipe
• Movie – went and saw Oz, The Great and Powerful. It was ok, the kids seemed to like it. My favorite part was the previews before.
• WinCo Foods – we have never been, but had a great time in the bulk bin section
• Carrabas – one of my favorite italian restaurants, love me the Polo Rosa Maria. Erika joined us for movie, shopping, and lunch, we love her.
• Swimming – this time we went to a heated pool, still refreshing, but not freeze your bum off. Teja, Boston, Barrett, Whitni, Mom, and Grandma all stopped by for a bit!
• Sleep – since we swam till 7:30, the girls all crashed the second we got home
