Latest Updates On Mr. Javo dot Com

Hello my readers, this week Mr. Javo dot Com has received some updates which I want to share with you.

First, as you may know, google was updating their pagerank the last week. Well, I got a PR3! Something that I was expecting since too much. This added me at the list of PR3 blogs beside JohnCow, DotComMogul, TUK and others…

Second, I was reading in other blogs about something called Skribit. This is a widget (which you can see it at the sidebar) where you can suggest me topics to blog about, and vote for them. It follows the same concept of my section Ask To Mr. Javo, but I suppose that it’s better in a widget. So, I will be deleting my section in some days…

Third, I added a couple of money makers to my list, WidgetBucks and Adtoll, so once again I’m giving you more ways to make money with your blog .

Fourth, I removed the Chitika widgets, because now they don’t support Venezuela. So, I can receive several clicks a day, but I will not be paid for that…. Check their blog to know more about the unsupported countries.

Fifth, there is not fifth! I just made these changes, but probably I will be making more the next week, stay tuned!

Selling In Your Blog

Today I was talking with my sister about my blog. She is very wondered about what I’m doing here, and how I’m doing it. She asked me many things related to the monetization, because she never imagined you could make money online.

As she, I’m pretty sure that many people is wondered about the topic, so in this post I’m going to tell you how it is possible.

There are many ways which I make money with my blog: by displaying advertising, by reviewing services provided by other websites and by selling private advertising. I’m going to focus in the last one, the private sales.

What can you sell in your blog?

In your website, you are able to sell whatever you want. This includes banners (125×125, 468×60….), text links, reviews, packages, ebooks, a kind of membership or anything else you want to sell. In fact, there is a plugin for wordpress called WP Auctions, which you can sell whatever you want though bids. Of course, that’s if you are using wordpress to manage your blog, but as you see, there is no restrictions to sell on your website.

How to motivate the people to buy in your blog?

This is something very interesting, and a doubt which many people have. This is not an easy task, in fact this is pretty hard, and sometimes it can be impossible. You need to do your best to get people buying stuff in your blog:

By taking part in social media networks: Being an active member of many social communities, you will get credibility though a wide audience, making your blog a potential marketplace to advertise on.
By having many subscribers: Let’s face it, nobody will buy a banner on your blog if the only person who visit your blog is your mom. If you have just a couple of subscribers (I’m talking about 20), will be very hard to sell a banner, for example. The most subscribers you have, the most banners you will sell because this is an indicative of your popularity and brand in the web. But to get many subscribers, you need to be good on what you do.
By having good traffic: The most expensive advertising is these which is in a highly visited website. And this is something obvious, you can’t sell a banner at the same prize of JohnChow (who gets thousand visits a day) if you get only 100 visits a day. By having good rankings: This relates the preview point. If you have highest rankings, will be best for you because this suggest that you have a defined presence in the web. This mean that many people knows about you, visiting your blog several times a month. To learn how to increase your rankings, check the category Improving Rank.
By displaying ads on your site: If you are selling ads, you don’t want to show a hole of empty slots. If you do this, you are saying that nobody is interested on your blog, and you are not having success with your sales. This is psychology, if the people see that you are selling banners, the customers around your blog will feel motivated to reserve a slot for them.
By promoting your stuff: Well this is an obvious point. If you want to sell something, you need to let the people know you are selling something! So a page or section of “Advertising” would be great on your site, this way the people will know that you are selling something.

By following the tips mentioned above, you should start to sell some banners, text links or another stuff in your blog, and start to make some money from your home.

This business is all about socializing and imagination. If you have a great idea never revealed before, make sure to materialize it and if the idea is enough good, you will get a lot of money from it.

My First Impression About SocialSpark

Hello people, as you may know I signed up to SocialSpark some weeks ago and since then, I have been testing this new service/community.

The last week when I posted about this community, I don’t knew it at all, and I skipped some good points which I want to mention this time. I’m talking about the types of marketplace opportunities you have, by signing up as blogger:

Sponsored Post: In the Sponsored Post Opportunity, you will create a unique sponsored post on your blog, based on the guidance the advertiser provides. The advertiser can choose to have each blogger include an image, video or press release along with the blogger’s own text, basically you need to meet the terms. The advertiser will pay per unique blog post that is created on each unique blog.

I have to say I got some opportunities, and all them has being approved very quick. The only thing I don’t like at all, is the fact you need to write about the opportunity in the next 12 hours after you reserved the opportunity. Is kinda forced!!!

Anyways, they are very conscious because they asked me to resubmit a post without showing advertising on it. This goes against their policy, so I removed the Kontera content links to resubmit my post, which was approved without problems… They could reject my post by they didn’t, they just contact me and noticed me about the issue, letting me to resubmit the post once again.

What Motivate You To Blog?

Hello my fellow bloggers, first at all I want to say sorry because the last week I wrote 2 or 3 articles, vs my usual daily writing. Also, these articles were not too informative, but you need to understand I have being very busy with my studies, robotics and other things I do, parallel to blogging.

I had this topic about 2 weeks ago, but I had not the opportunity to post it before :smile:. The big question of this post is what motivate you to blog? That is a good question that many people don’t have a clear idea.

The last month, I saw how my subscribers increased daily, and that was something I liked very much. But as well as my subscribers increased, decreased my daily visits. In addition of this, I stopped to blog for a week and I saw my visit’s chart with a negative slope, and I have to say that I felt bad.

In addition of that, many of my readers sent me an e-mail, asking me why I stopped to blog. I received like 20 emails, and I thank you to everybody who wrote me, because that gave me the force to keep doing what I do here.

About two weeks ago, I was invited to use SocialSpark in its alpha phase (now beta), which made me feel important in the blogging community :cool:. However, I joined to the new IZEA’s program, and I have to say I found it very cool. I have took a couple of opportunities, being approved quickly.

But although I could not write daily, I kept checking my statistics, rankings and comments in every community. When I saw my rankings after the week I stopped to blog, Mr. Javo dot Com dropped some positions. That, combined with the other factors I mentioned above, motivated me to write again :grin:.

I thought on what I have being doing here, and how I was progressing with the pass of the months. I thought I was dropping all my work through the window, and immediately I start to write again :grin:. I talked with fellow bloggers, and they told me that happens, so I took it easy.

The New Alexa Rankings

Yesterday I noticed my I went from 80k to 230k in Alexa, how was that possible? Well, I went to alexa.com and effectively, something has changed.

But these new rankings are better than the old ones? I think nobody can answer that question, because for someone, “better” can be to have a higher rank to its site. But for the people who develop Alexa Rankings, the best is to give us the most accurate information.

They have optimized their code to provide to all internet community, the best rankings they can give. This don’t want to say that your old ranking was bad, it was just different. In my case, my ranking dropped from 80k to 230k, but I have not bad feelings about that. In fact, I have read that many rankings (specially of blogs) has decreased, but that is because their new algorithm.

For the new code, now they aggregate data from multiple sources, to give us a better indication of website popularity among the entire population of Internet users.

With this change, there are another changes you should know. For example, now you can only see the last 9 months data, but that’s for a mistake that they are working to fix in the next weeks. In their blog, they said they going to add new features in the coming weeks and months, but they keep them in secret.

What do you think about the new ranking? For me it is ok, you know I don’t really care about the rankings…

Our March hundred dollar contest was a little delayed, but we can now finally announce our winner. This month, the winning entry came in the form of a comment posted on GorillaSushi.com.

Introducing SocialSpark

Some weeks ago, I was invited to use this new service in its alpha phase. SocialSpark is a new service of the IZEA’s people, who we know because of services like PayPerPost or RealRank, but what they are offering with this service? Let’s find it out.

SocialSpark, with the tagline “Get Everyone Talking”, is a new service very similar to payperpost because you can make money by blogging about opportunities, created by advertisers. But it has the difference that it is more social, you can interact with all the members, adding them as your friends, voting for posts, recommending a blogger and another interesting features that I will let you to explore.

This is a little screenshot of the main panel, where you can find the most popular opportunities, feature posts and other things.

As you can see, SocialSpark is a kind of blogging community, where you can make friends at the same time you can make money by writing about those opportunities. The best thing is that by this way, you can meet potential partners to work with, because you can “Prop” the users, which is the new way of giving someone your vote of confidence or high rating. You have the choice, in many areas, to offer a “prop” or “drop” to other users, opportunities, blogs, etc. Basically, a prop is a positive vote, and a drop a negative one. And how these props will help you to find potential partners? Simple, because you can search members by filtering their information, as number of props, views and friends, which could let you to determine who is an active blogger, and who is not.

Also, beside to searching members, you can search blogs by average pageviews a month, real rank, blog props, and other factors which let you to know, as in the case of users, which are the active or inactive blogs.

Conclusion

SocialSpark seems like a great place to be, I have made a couple of friends through this way and taken a couple of opportunities. The only question I have is about the payments. I don’t know how I’m going to be paid, because they never asked me anything related to that. Effectively, the payments are made through paypal, as they does at PayPerPost.
