Dan Meyers Hooks / 3-Acts

noreply@blogger.com (Mr. Joeck) — Wed, 10 Jun 2015 17:37:00 +0000

Dan Meyers is a great math teacher and trainer. Here's an archive of some of the great "hooks" he created, one of his "3-Act" lessons; which have introductions, "open middles" and closings.

A good friend of mine works for UCLA's libraries, and I think this is a pretty cool logistical exercise. Try it!

Tutoring

noreply@blogger.com (Mr. Joeck) — Wed, 11 Feb 2015 23:26:00 +0000

We can always set something up individually, but every day there's tutoring in E8 after school. Make sure you let them know that you're in my class so that you get an XC card and badge :-)

YouTube Channel

noreply@blogger.com (Mr. Joeck) — Wed, 04 Sep 2013 01:02:00 +0000

Imani from 1st period had a good question about where I'll be posting the videos. Though there's nothing up there yet, I'll be posting on a channel of my own, not Mr. Hunsberger's. I'll put links in the assignments and assign a bit.ly address to the channel too.

Videos

noreply@blogger.com (Mr. Joeck) — Sun, 01 Sep 2013 23:31:00 +0000

I'm getting things going with making videos and uploading them to YouTube. I'll post here when I have something significant up (other than just "demo" and "boring 15 min. max length").

Mr. Hunsberger's Class

noreply@blogger.com (Mr. Joeck) — Thu, 29 Aug 2013 02:30:00 +0000

Hi there. Mr. Hunsberger will be out Thursday and Tuesday. So, I'll be teaching class for those days. Also, because he's going to switch jobs here, I may be your teacher for the year. I hope so! I'd like to try to keep things up like he's been doing, with videos for homework and group work in class.
