This court case has been bubbling around for a while and now the verdicts and sentences are in, I feel able to comment.

The Directors and manager of a company operating out of Bristol who have been (and still are!) advertising heavily on Social Media channels etc. have been found guilty of fraud, and received suspended prison sentences.

It was discovered that the business had been taking orders and money from a large number of clients over an extended period, to the tune of at least £200,000.  A wide range of businesses, from takeaways to churches have fallen for the scam.

It reminds me of the story behind our formation.  Some of you will have already heard it.  We have another business which relies primarily on leaflet distribution for its marketing.  When we first started it, we had loads of time to do our own leafleting, but soon it became necessary to outsource some of it.

It was a complete washout! 20,000 leaflets with no response.

It’s why we started, and in a way I’m glad it happened as it lead us to a business we really enjoy, and are doing well at.  It does however remind us that the industry we operate in is not always the most squeaky-clean.  It’s why we’re investing in business improvements, such as GPS Tracking.

We are looking to recruit Leaflet Distributors throughout the West Yorkshire area in particular.  This is an ongoing requirement, but we are particularly looking for people at the moment in preparation for a large contract starting at the end of the month.
