Here at MR Towers, I’m always banging on about Cheap – I really hate that word.  It’s fine in the context of “Cheap Perfume” or “Cheap Date!” but when it comes to marketing, and your business, the focus should be on “Value”

So it came as a bit of a surprise (even to me) when I came up with this latest idea.  I think Megan was even so shocked, she actually made me a cup of coffee!

We often do work at a heavily reduced rate for local charities.  It’s not something we make a big fuss about, but we like to support a number of causes if we can.

However, I’ve gone one step further today, and decided to do a small charity run each week for absolutely zilch – zero – nada – free!

We’ll be doing the first one in Halifax next week (w/c 27th February), and the offer goes a little something like this;

Pay for 1000 leaflets to be delivered in our charity area, and get another 1000 done free.

What that means, is for a standard A5 leaflet – we’ll charge you just £45 for 2000 leaflets delivering.  Now that is cheap Good Value!

Of course, this is only a great offer if your leaflets can go out anywhere! You’ll have to get in pretty quickly though.  We’ll only run this until I see sense!

I’ve just added a new page to the site, which gives some of the details of our Networking activities.

I really enjoy Networking – or should I say, I enjoy meeting new people and finding out what they do etc.

To that end, I’ve taken the Group Directorship of a new networking organisation.  NABO is the National Association of Business Owners, and it is taking the country by storm at the minute.  There will be over 100 groups by the end of March, and I would imagine that this figure will grow and grow.

I found that NABO suited my style of play.  After becoming a member at Steve Pepper’s Wetherby Group, it was clear that there is a good mix between agenda and openness.  The whole idea is getting to know a group of people with ultimately the aim of being able to help them, and hopefully receive reciprocal help.

I decided to introduce NABO to the Leeds Business Networking scene.  We now have groups in York, Harrogate, Ilkley and Wetherby as well as Leeds, so the coverage in Yorkshire is pretty good so far.

So, the hotel is booked, the buffet ordered, the booking form set up, and the content sorted.  All we need now is you.  Please take a look at the booking page.  If you can make it, we’d love to see you.  If you can’t make it, they’re every fortnight.  You can still book for future events.

Cheap Leaflet Distribution

We have been doing a small, but steady Leaflet Distribution campaign around Bradford, Leeds and Huddersfield for Simon Owen of Vacs4Spares.

Simon repairs vacuums, sells new ones, and now provides Carpet Cleaning equipment for hire.  He is based in the same business centre as us, and we’re good mates.  He wasn’t sure whether Leaflet Distribution would be of major benefit to him at first – however, he agreed to give it a try, as part of his marketing mix.

It’s been a good week so far for enquiries!  Welcome to 2 new customers for leaflet drop who’ve come on board today.

Leslie and Shelley run Basement Textiles in Bradford.  They collect surplus clothing from your doorstep and offer you an immediate payment in return.   We’re conducting a sizeable leaflet drop in and around the BD12 area of Bradford, and Hipperholme, Bailiff Bridge areas, starting on Friday.

Winston Thomas has a start up business called QuickFibre.  He installs Home and Office Optical Fibre networking.  He’s really passionate about his work, and has plenty of experience as a BT engineer.  He’s also installing an exciting new product – Android Smart TV Box based on the popular Google Android system.  We’ll be trudging the streets of  Huddersfield later this week with Winston’s leaflet.
