A XML Sitemap helps Search Engine Bots better discover your Website/Blog Content.

Similarly an Image XML Sitemap helps Search Engine (Image) Bots in finding and Indexing Images hosted on your Website/Blog more easily!

If your Blog is a Self Hosted WordPress Blog, than you can easily generate an Image XML Sitemap (Example here) with the help of a simple WordPress Plugin!

Google XML Sitemap for Images WordPress Plugin helps you in generating Image XML Sitemap for your WordPress Blog. In order to install this WordPress plugin in your Blog, simply follow the steps given below:

Upload the plugin folder to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory
Activate the plugin through the Plugins menu in WordPress
Expand the Tools menu from WordPress Sidebar and select Image Sitemap
Click the Generate Sitemap button to create your XML Sitemap for Images

Once you have created your Sitemap, you can submit it to Google using Webmaster Tools:

While writing this post, the only thing missing in this awesome plugin is as follows:

The Plugin can’t refresh/generate a Fresh XML Sitemap as soon as some post/page in WordPress is added/modified with New Images. Hence everytime you have to click Generate Image Sitemap from the Plugin’s Option Page – Hope this gets fixed soon in the upcoming version of the plugin

New Indian Rupee Symbol & Download Rupee Font

Recently India got her new currency symbol for Indian Rupee:

This particular symbol for Indian Rupee was finalized on 15 July 2010 by Indian Cabinet and is designed by D Udaya Kumar, an assistant professor at IIT Guwahati. During the Union Budget 2010, Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee mentioned that the new Rupee symbol would reflect and capture the Indian ethos and culture.

Recently Mangalore based Foradian Technologies Pvt. Ltd. has created a new Rupee Font for computer users. This way computer users can easily insert the New Rupee Symbol in any Document/Application. The company is constantly redefining the new Rupee Font and these updates are posted on Foradian Technologies Official Blog on a regular basis:

The Indian government will try to adopt the sign within next six months in the country and globally within 18 to 24 months. The Indian Rupee sign is currently in the first stage of proposal for being encoded into the Unicode character set, as a sign distinct from the existing Generic Rupee Symbol Rs currently encoded at U+20A8.
