Trip to Korea: photoshoot

2011-06-14T16:09:00.004-04:00

**PICTURES ARE UP! Posted almost all of them.. cuz they all turned out pretty nice! There are some pictures excluded in a different dress-- but it's a surprise additional dress I will be wearing at my wedding!**

Hi ya'll! It's been a while eh? I have been super busy with wedding planning and what not, but I am back... and I hope to update more frequently. FYI I update Facebook and Twitter like it's my job, feel free to follow there.

I went to Korea for 11 days or so to meet my fiance's parents (for the first time!) It went great-- they live in Seoul and I love it there. I tried almost ALL the food! I love super spicy Korean food.

Anyhow, I am going to upload pictures of the engagement photoshoot in Korea. They are beautiful and untouched... but I did try to crop some because the photographer got piles of junk and fluorescent lights etc in the background of the pictures. I guess she is going to photoshop 20 of them for us and put it in a book-- can't wait to see them!

So if you are interested in stalking 200 pictures of me and my prettyboy Korean, stay tuned!

Valentines Day: Wedding plans pictures

2011-02-14T21:27:00.003-05:00

I don't update my blog often enough. Blog is kind of a "when I remember to" type thing. Feel free to follow or to not follow or hate @me.

Happy Valentines Day! Hope everyone is having/had a lovely day. I didn't hang out with my sweetheart today because he's working-- big day for restaurants! He is currently a server at a sushi restaurant while he's finishing up school.

He did drop off a small gift-- we said we weren't exchanging gifts this year! We're both trying really hard to save money.

This is going to be a picture post giving you previews of my wedding! Very little reading, FUN!

Wedding church!

Reception Hall!

I'm doing a candy bar in my colors for my guests because I loveeeee candy!!!

Upcoming posts about nail polish. I've bought like 10 of them on sale or for really cheap lately... and didn't realize it. They just accumulate!

7 Beauty Characteristics tag

2011-02-02T20:11:00.007-05:00

I was tagged by Rinny to do the "7 Beauty Characteristics" post, and I have been meaning to update anyway so here goes!

For the tag, I'm basically supposed to list 7 physical characteristics about myself that I appreciate. At least that's the gist, I think. Then I need to tag 7 people.

Tags like this run the risk of sounding vain, but I think it's important to occasionally self-evaluate and find things you can appreciate in the physical realm. I don't know about you guys, but I am VERY critical of the way I look, and myself in general. It's generally easier for me to find my flaws. After some thought, here are the things that I think are beautiful about me.

(Click images to enlarge for more thorough stalking)

1) Hands: Kind of weird, but I get a lot of compliments on my hands. My fingers are long and skinny, and my nails grow super fast so they are generally long and pretty.

This is an awkward pic of me covering my face from a while ago haha

2) Hair: I actually complain about my hair a lot because it can be very difficult to manage-- it's naturally very curly and can sometimes look like an afro or lion's mane. BUT, my my hair holds style very easily, and I can straighten it, curl it more, or leave it natural and it looks different every day!

3) Height: I'm 5'6" -- I used to wish I was shorter because I think it's really cute for women to be petite, but at my height (and I guess build) I can shop anywhere I want and not have to alter anything. I know that finding the correct fit is a struggle for a lot of women.

4) Nose: not too big or small, I think it suits my face.

5) Teeth: but yes I do whiten occasionally, so gotta give NightWhite some credit!

6 &7) Brains and Sense of Humor: Not a cop-out! I feel this way about others and about myself. I think my intelligence and my humor make me more beautiful, and the friends (and men) I find most attractive OVERALL, are the ones that possess these traits. I've dated some men who I thought were gorgeous and I know their personality affected my judgement... after those relationships ended my friends would say, "What the heck were you thinking?!" Oh well! Now I have a fiance who I find very physically attractive, and also bright and interesting! :)

My dorm room freshman year in college: where I spent a lot of time expanding my BRAIN! haaa

Now I need to stalk some people and find 7 ladies to tag! I haven't read peoples blogs in a while... so this might take a few moments!

LOTD, learning Korean, new dress!

2011-01-24T00:39:00.003-05:00

For my birthday I asked for Rosetta Stone: Korean (levels 1 & 2) from my parents. I just started using it a few days ago, and I've been using it a little over an hour every day so far.

I'm going to Korea in May with my fiance to meet his parents! I hope I can hold basic conversations with them in Korean by then. I'll keep you updated on my progress!

Anyhowwww I'm having a late birthday party/practice bachelorette party this Saturday. One of my friends is home in Michigan from Korea, and another friend is driving up from Kentucky and I'm sooo excited to see them! The theme is "Pretty in Pink" (LOL I did not pick the theme) so everyone has to wear PINK!

Tae (aka fiance, I don't use his name often on blog) got me this dress for my party (even though he's not invited!) In general it's not my style, but it fits the "pink theme" and is super flattering on ;)

So here is a LOTD from Saturday night. I was going out to meet some friends for cocktails, so I did some dark "evening eyes." Haaaaaa.

I don't feel like listing the products unless you want to know what any of them are specifically, then I'll let you know!

Also, the fingernail polish I'm wearing in my "Asian Survival Kit" post is called "Off With Her Red" by OPI and it's GREAT. I got it for $3 and it's the perfect matte red. I've had it on for almost 2 full weeks and it still looks great!

Today I am 24.

2011-01-19T03:16:00.000-05:00

Today is my birthday! I'm going to spend the day with my fiance: a little shopping, a little eating, and a little wine. Sounds good to me!

I'm feeling pretty... elderly...

8 years ago I was 16....

16-year-old "I'm way too cool for this" face

the majority of my close friends were... and still are... asian... lol

5 years ago I was 19... and disgustingly skinny.

Please excuse my bony-ness, I was 5'6" tall and 106 lbs (not on purpose)

and 20 years old...

super cute ganache bday cake! it was like 10 lbs heavy!

3 years ago I was 21...!!

2 of my favorite people in the world: Asmait and Michelle

There's always something crazy that happens when we go out.... hahaha poor guy

2 years ago I was 22...

yeah i know... CRAZY BANGS

A random guy at the bar who kept kissing my hand bought $400 worth of champagne for me/my friends. We all had our own bottles... but mine was the most expensive one of COURSE. :P Then he shook one of the bottles and got a bunch of people soaked in champagne and promptly got kicked out! It was pretty excellent.

A year ago I was 23!

3 of my best friends! Michelle, Choua, and Stacey. Do any of you recognize one of them? Cuz you should! Hehehe she's gonna kill me when she sees this. Hey, you might even recognize 2 of them... ;)

My big brother! (I was in a co-ed fraternity in college)

Birthday presents from one of my BFFs, Choua, A DEEP FRYER. That girl knows what's up!

I loveeee to dance, even though I am most likely really terrible at it!

"Asian Survival Kit" and FOTD!

2011-01-15T21:03:00.010-05:00

Sorry I've been MIA. I have no excuse for it. Now that's covered!

I have some fun pictures to post! First I want to show you all a Christmas present I got from Verina in Singapore! She calls it the "Official Asian Survival Kit" and I love it! I've never tried any asian makeup/beauty products before, and she even included circle lenses! THANK YOU VERINA! I love everything!

Pictures~~

Unfortunately it's not packaged as cute as it was originally, because my fiance picked it up from the post office and opened it before I got to do so (I gave him the OK). I'm sure he ate half the candy before I even saw it, too! :P

Perfect purse-size! I've been using so much hand lotion to keep my hands pretty now that I've got engagement bling!

I am eating this right now :)

maroon lenses! These look so cool on (images below)

"Jeweling Eyes" sparkly eyeshadow!

Definitely cannot read any of this ahaha

Really tasty candy (some of it's gone already) and Hello Kitty pencil!

I loveeee this peachy lipstick! I don't have anything this color so its perfect!

Face masks... this makes me feel fancy!

Thanks for the gift, Verina! You will definitely be getting a gift in return ;) I will just have to look for some goodies that are equally cool! <3

Now for some FOTD pics from today wearing the new lenses! I am also wearing the lipstick and the eyeshadows from the asian kit! Do you see the transformation from white girl to asian yet??

I will take better quality photos someday, but for now this is what you all get!

Do I look asian with this pose? Haha

Super coooool! And also, I'm into very natural mascaras lately, which is new for me.

click to see larger: and also my eyebrows really arent that uneven in real life. haha they look crazy here!

Bought A Dress!

2010-12-22T21:00:00.011-05:00

Haaaaaaa. My mother wanted me to look for more dresses in Florida to be sure, but I told her,

"I just want to be done with it [dress shopping]...."

We both agreed that this is the one, though.

It's going to take about 6 months for my dress to be made and shipped, but it is going to be like this one, except stark white, not ivory. WHITE WHITE. Like, even whiter than my skin (I know, hard to believe---right?).

I am also going to have a seamstress do some custom straps-- thicker and incorporating some of the same lace as in the dress. I think it will be much prettier than the spaghetti straps. :D

It is also going to be made in my size (the one in the pic is 2 sizes too large) so it will be very curvy on, if it doesn't look so curvy in these pics.

ANYWAY~~ Here it is in the ivory color.

Wayyy too big on top! But you get the idea :)

Again, this one does not hug my curves as much as mine will

Up close of the bodice

I was trying on some thicker straps just to get an idea of what it would look like. The straps I'm having made will be much prettier than this, though!

Bottom of the dress

Wedding dresses: I WANT YO' INPUT!

2010-12-21T23:01:00.003-05:00

Follow my blog with bloglovin
^Newwwwwww. I know a lot of people use bloglovin... so... yes. There it is.

If you haven't let me know your favorite dress from the post below, I'd love to hear! I don't really care if you're a random person or a "follower"... I would appreciate input! POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE!!! Yeah, I'm askin' for it!

Feedback requested!

I don't think I will be much of a "bridezilla." I'd be down with other people making decisions for me, so long as they have reasonably good taste.

I will be dress shopping at a new store tomorrow, and I will post pictures of my favorite dresses from that store tomorrow evening. Again, I'd love to hear what you think. Even if its a comment like "Dress #2" or "They are all ugly."

That is all for now-- the remainder my night is dedicated to cleaning, which makes me entirely too happy! :D

Wedding dress shopping photossss

2010-12-18T02:14:00.007-05:00

Wedding dress shopping today occupied all my time, so no closet organization/video walkthrough took place.

But equally exciting! Pictures of some of the dresses I tried on today.

**Also, the writer of the book "The Last Lecture" happened to be at the wedding dress shop I was at today... apparently he's writing a new book about the room in which I was trying my dresses. He took a bunch of notes on my relationship with my fiance, our names, and my mother's name and number because he might use our story in part of his book! How cool would that be??? Completely random!

I look much larger in the pictures than I did in person (my mom insists she had her camera on the wrong setting because this is her first time using it) ... but supposedly the camera adds 10 lbs. So... I need to lose 10 lbs. LOL.

No excuse for the hips though, stays curvy no matter how my weight fluctuates.

Here are a few things I tried on. I have not purchased any of these dresses-- I'm going to be looking more seriously in Florida after Christmas.

My style is all over the place, I know!

This one might be a little too Vogue/fashion forward for me. I don't like the back at all.. . it's got too much going on, but love the neck bead thing.

Head-to-toe Swarovski crystals... it's like the "DSK Jewelry Blinged-out dress!" Lolz almost a product placement. THIS DRESS WAS SO HEAVY!

This would be a more traditional option. It's hard to tell in these pics, but the bottom of the dress has very "natural" sparkles throughout.

Lovin' the vintage-style veils

New closets! Youtube walkthrough on Friday!

2010-12-15T00:22:00.005-05:00

Sooo... redid my closets. Here It's basically installed, but the old holes need to be patched and painted tomorrow.... so I can't put anything away.

But since ya'll are nosy, I will give you a video walk-though of my closet when the paint dries & I have all my material items (HA!) organized in it. It's very hard to capture the greatness in photos, because the shelves are very tall! 13 foot ceilings, tall.

Get excited, it's a Nonners video... so you know it is going to be very awkward.

ANYWAY. BEFORE & AFTER (so far)

Bedroom closet...

DOUBLE. HANGING. Necessary!

Coat closet:

Not all of the shelves are in the built-in, but you get the idea.

Closet makeover!

2010-12-11T01:05:00.005-05:00

Since I'm now engaged, I've had to think about what it will be like to have a permanent roommate.

I've lived alone for years now! I can be pretty bossy, especially when it comes to my home, so it'll be an adjustment for both of us. Hey, at least I know my faults!

When I get married, I plan on having Tae move into my place. Right now though, there is no space for him! I am a secret pack rat!

I consider myself to be very clean, but I never claimed to be hyper-organized.

Soooo basically I will show you what my 2 closets look like now, and some of my organization products I plan to use in my closet makeover.

Oh, and my bedroom closet contains maybe 50% of my clothes. I have a dresser with 6 huge drawers for the rest, and it's jam packed! Poor Tae doesn't know what he's getting himself into!!

I'm having my wire shelves taken down and will have double-hanging with wood shelves. I am so excited it is going to be GREAT. This is all going down on Tuesday, so stay tuned!

Here is what my bedroom closet looks like right now (you can enlarge all of these photos):

MESSY!

Andddd this is my entry closet/coat closet:

Products to help with organization:

Acrylic shoe boxes from the Container Store. I didn't order enough..
5 of them are larger for BIG heels. I plan on keeping just my nice shoes in these boxes.

Closer view, love these!

I bought 200 new hangers. My mom recommended these, they are thinner than ordinary hangers and save space. Also, they are a velvety material and clothes stay put... I don't know if anyone else has the issue of clothes sliding off plastic hangers??

New, thinner velvet hanger on right! Compared to ordinary plastic hanger.

Please excuse my fingernails, they all just broke off due to the cold/dry weather!

If you're interested in these hangers, you can get them from Target or here on Amazon

Can't wait to see it finished!

I will now pass this award to 15 other bloggers. I have a few ladies in mind who may or may not still be blogging, but I will tag them anyway. Also, I will try to give the award to people who don't already have it... but honestly I have no clue. :P

ENGAGED!

2010-11-28T23:01:00.006-05:00

Hellooooooo. Some time has elapsed since I have last updated.

Here's my update: I'm engaged!

***Taken with my iPhone, I'll take better pics later :)

Pictures of my fiance, Tae :)

I think I've got one of the only asians over 6 feet tall! Haaa, my giant asian!

So... what's new with you?

P.S. Rinny- thank you for the "One Lovely Blog" award! I look forward to determine the 15 bloggirls to pass it along!

Cute things for my home!

2010-11-10T14:26:00.002-05:00

When I was in WPB I swung by Anthropologie and picked up a few things I LOVE.

FYI, these pictures are taken with my phone without any flash: the coasters are this sparkly in natural light!

2 super pretty coasters, at $8 a piece. I really don't have company much, so 2 is perfect for me!

The walls of my condo are ORANGE, and my decor is pretty eclectic so this coaster fits right in!

Love it in the white as well

Cute, no?

You can buy them online here --> Celestial Coasters but you have to buy them in a 4 pack, and all of the same color. If you get them from the Antro store you can mix & match and get as many/few as you want! The coasters come in 7 different colors and they are all wicked pretty IMO.

Rabbit ring dish! $10 at Anthro! I usually keep a few pieces of jewelry out that I wear frequently, so may as well make them look cute and organized.

And lastly... here is something I'm lusting after but can't justify for $50.

"8 arms hook." Completely random, but that's my style. I don't need to have
an octopi-themed home to have an octopus hook, do I?

A 37 second video, does that count? No? Okay more later.

2010-11-03T23:03:00.000-04:00

Back in Michigan & MAC goodies!

2010-11-02T23:34:00.007-04:00

*Shout out to iAMminky3 : I can't comment on your blog! :'( When it gets to the word verification, it doesn't give me a box to type it! :'(

I'm back in Michigan.

That means no more of this...

this...

Or this...

My 8 lb monster dog, Grendel

There were so many things that looked super exciting in MAC's A Tartan Tale collection... but I agree with the people who said the swatches/trying it in person was disappointing.

I only bought ONE thing from the A Tartan Tale collection...

Things that I did buy, though!!

4 new eyeshadows: Goldmine, Idol Eyes, White Frost, and Juxt

FYI: I have a ton more MAC eye shadows than this... I just used to buy everything in the individual container because I thought it stayed cleaner. Now I'm alllll for palettes & I refuse to buy any more singular eyeshadows... they are too hard to find when you're looking for a specific color!

And the other things I bought? Lip products or "lippies" as ya'll call it!

Add caption

The only thing I bought from A Tartan Tale! MAC Dazzleglass Creme "Soft Dazzle" and I lurveeee it. It's the first Dazzleglass I've owned!

Spice is Nice cremesheen

The lipliner is not pictured, but the color is "Spice"-- to match the lipstick, obvi!

I'm hopefully going to do a Youtube video tomorrow. One of you brought up a good point that I would like to discuss further! Besides, it's been a while since I've made a fool of myself on the internet (or has it? you tell me).

New GiftsfromExBfs and MAC "A Tartan Tale" Lust

2010-10-30T22:42:00.003-04:00

" Well, helloooo there ;) " to my new subscribers! Welcome to my nonsense! I'm guessing you like shoes, too!

I have another blog, and I will start updating it more frequently. Let's just say that I have a lot of "material" with which to work... har har har. Check it out!
GiftsFromExBoyfriends

Also, I have yet to take a picture of my new 'do, but I fell ill a few days ago and continue to be sick... so I haven't actually bothered to style it since it was cut. AKA my hair is naturally afro-curly AKA you can only see the real "haircut" when I straighten it which is not happenin' right now! FAIR? FAIR!

So the new MAC "A Tartan Tale" is super exciting! I suddenly feel more Scottish than ever! I might have to break out my kilt & bagpipes. JK about the kilt.

Here are some of my faves from the collection (from what I can tell online), and I'm going to the mall tomorrow to hopefully verify and purchase!

Of the eye shadows:

Glamora Castle

Enviably Fun

Pigment:

Later (Black w/ transforming purple pearl)

Pallets:

6 Twists of Tartan Eyeshadows

6 Beauties Play it Cool Eye Shadows

Lipsticks:

The Faerie Glen

Cut a Caper

Aaaand the purpleish "Courting Lilac" (wouldn't let me add thumbnail)

Pretty, yes? Have any of you picked up any of these yet? I'd like to hear!

West Palm Beach!

2010-10-26T23:39:00.002-04:00

Purchased lots of shoes!

Working out a lot!

Spoiling myself...

MAC Venomous Villains "Oh So Fair"

MAC Carbon, luckily I didn't have this black yet so the cute packaging was just a bonus.

3 new fall polishes :)

Everyone should declutter their shower! Love this.

OMG I LOVE THIS, SUPER ORGANIZED SHOWER!

Just repotted house plant #5... my mom needs to stop regifting them to me. Mixed in some ivy.

LOTD from ME?!?!

2010-10-02T16:57:00.013-04:00

Above: taken with a nice camera, aka has a better flash

Stephanie told me to post a "LOTD" and I do whatever she tells me to, per usual.

Condo: Design Projects & New touch-free soap dispenser!

2010-09-24T00:20:00.013-04:00

Here are some paint projects on which I've been working! The before and FINAL pictures will be in my next post, because I don't have the end product pics yet. These are all still in progress, YOU SEE??!?

SORRY.

But not really because I do what I want.

The top half of my antique pie chest:

(After 2 coats I think)

Ugly metal utility boxes:

Step 1: Dust! Step 2: Metal primer

1 coat of paint. My paint color is called "French Roast"

3 Coats: still damp, but much better looking!

Aaaaaaand I'm sewing orange pillows for my blue corduroy couch!

BUT NO, don't think I'm being thrifty by sewing my own pillows. I spent hundreds... of dollars on this fabric. The fabrics are textured weaves (we're not talking about hair pieces, here) and they are GREAT!

Bonus points for my nails happening to match my fabric! I dk why the lighting makes my hands/the fabrics look slightly more red than they actually are.

-The shorter trim is going to be on circle fabric which will be made into large square pillows ( 22" x 22" )

-The longer trim is going to be on small rectangular pillows with the geometric print.

And I bought a new soap dispenser to try out: it's lysol and it's no-touch! Super excited about this!

Lysol No-Touch Hand Soap System! You can find it all over, but I got mine from Sam's Club and it came with 2 soap refills!

I'll let ya'll know what I think-- I'm very picky when it comes to hand soap. Can't wait to try it out tomorrow (I'm not at home today!)
