I am now following Sh*T My Dad Says on my Twitter account. Who knew Twitterers can now get TV deals?

Sh*t my Dad Says was started by a 29-year-old who moved back in with his parents in San Diego. His Tweets are full of profane comments and pearls of wisdom made by his 73-year-old father during their daily conversations.

"Will & Grace" creators David Kohan and Max Mutchnick are executive producers.

Hmm...this gives me hope. Perhaps I should start another Twitter account so that I can get a TV/movie deal!

Happy Monday! I've had a whirlwind week. I managed to get the kids their H1N1 shots. It was a decision that I finally made after hearing no bad stories regarding the vaccine on the news. They were giving them out at the clinic where I stood on line. Luckily I got there an hour early before the doors opened. I will have to get them booster shots in another month. Hopefully they'll be available at the doctor's office by then!

How cute are these wooden candles?

Halloween at 12 months old

Tonight the baby went trick-or-treating. It was also the first time she tried candy. While at home, she grabbed a wrapped lollipop and was frustrated that she couldn't taste it. She was whining, "ehhh...ehhh..."

When I took the wrapper off for her and stuck it in her mouth she went, "ohhhhh."

Last night I woke up four times instead of the usual 5 times. Waking up in the middle of the night so many times is now making me into a zombie! Fortunately, I can still function and write a few pop links for today:

Okay, the outfit in the picture looks nothing as nice as what Nicole is wearing. It doesn't make me want to buy it. Then, I'm not a Boho chic person. I'm more at the moment wearing the "whatever doesn't smell like spit-up and snot outfits".
There will be 37 pieces that will debut beginning in February.

With all these celebs starting their own clothing lines, I think I can start my own! Why I can do it? My sister is already in the fashion industry so I have a source, plus I would have a cool label name. It would be called Summer Brooke (My daughter's name). Madonna's neighbors threaten to evict her. The NY Post reported:

"Karen George, who lives above Madonna in a building on Central Park, said in a lawsuit filed Friday against the building's co-op board stating that the 'Material Girl' is using her apartment as a rehearsal studio, forcing neighbors to endure "blaring music, stomping and shaking walls," for up to three hours each day. The building's board says it has already threatened to evict Madonna."

Fashion designer Stella McCartney has partnered with Gap Kids and Baby Gap. She will be launching a collection of little clothes she designed for the clothing giant. It's just a one-time-only deal and the public will be able to get their hands on the line this November.

Letting her cry it out

The past few days I've been getting 5 hours of straight sleep rather than two. The reason? It's time to get the baby to cry it out at bedtime. In the day, she's great. I put her down at 12:30 and she sleeps for up to two hours. There's no crying, just a turn of the body in the crib and a hug of a muslin cloth I usually give her.

The night is different. The past few months I've been getting up three to four times a night. And this is involves both kids! The hub helps too of course so we're both affected and are like walking zombies. So two nights ago I decided to let her cry for a little while. She usually wakes up from 1o-11pm crying for some milk. These nights I didn't give in. I just let her wail in her crib. And you know what? She ended up sleeping until 6am, giving me some shut eye.

Since the baby turned one on Thursday this is when I start to drop the volume of the milk machine boobs.

I am actually feeling human again!

How MTV Stole Me From David Letterman (And Saved Me From Sleeping With Him!)

(With the whole David Letterman scandal going on, I figured I would put up an old post again about when I interviewed for the show.)

Growing up in New York, you become a go-getter. I went to art high school in Manhattan (the rival of the Fame school) and majored in theatre arts. In my senior year I decided to do an internship in entertainment. I sent my resumes out and got interviews at MTV and David Letterman. The interviews were within a week of each other.

I entered the MTV offices not even nervous. The reception room was decorated with music posters and looked very high tech. Loud music was blaring so I had to scream my name out to the receptionist. A short brunette woman came out to greet me. Her name was Marnie. She showed me around the offices and they are what you would expect. Clean, airy, and a funky vibe. Like all the record companies I've been to since. I even remember her showing me the tiny little room of videotapes that was for VH1. "That's a new channel we've started up", she told me. Boy, I bet she didn't realize that it would erupt into a big channel, gracing us with the breasts of Brigitte Nielsen today. (Thanks VH1!) In all, I thought the interview went pretty smoothly.

Next came the David Letterman interview. At that time, the show was still at NBC. Compared to my time at MTV, this was going to be a totally different experience. First of all, their offices looked like crap. The carpets and entire decor were dingy. Fox TV must have used the same interior designer. A tall woman named Mary was the interviewer. She sat me down in a stuffy office. Papers everywhere so you couldn't see her desk. She asked me questions on why I wanted to intern there, blah blah blah. I answered confidently exhibiting my New York prowess-ness (I made up that word). Growl! A pimply faced NBC page called to get Mary out of the room. She excused herself and I was left there in the dungeon. As I was looking around in this tiny office, I felt my left eye go funny. It was my contact lens! It was either falling out or getting lost in my eye! I blinked my eye hoping some tears would place the lens back onto my cornea.

As I was sitting there blinking like a retard, I heard "Is Mary around?". I turned my head and saw David Letterman standing at the doorway. He had on a t-shirt and khakis. While squinting my left eye and managing a half smile, I answered "yes, she's coming right back." He looked at me funny and said "okay", displaying his famous gap tooth and walked away.

That was so embarrassing!! Can you imagine? You meet the head star of the TV show you want to work for and a stupid contact lens gets in the way! I was miffed. When Mary returned I asked where the bathroom was. I ended up losing the lens. It either fell on the floor or was lost and had traveled up to my forehead area. I left the offices with Mary telling me she would let me know either way. When I got home, I got a call from MTV telling me I was hired. I didn't know what to do. I didn't want to lose out if I said no. MTV was getting big and I was a music freak anyway. So I said yes to working there. It worked out because I didn't get the Letterman job after all. I blame Bausch & Lomb for this!

The MTV program I worked for was called "120 Minutes". My boss was English and he was the producer. His name was Dave Kendall. Dave liked to wear the same three suits each week. They were very colorful and very eighties looking. He also liked to wear berets. I was asked to type up the daily playlists and basically be a gofer. You know, go for this and go for that. Yep...a go getter I was!

Once my boss asked me to come to the studios with him to help out with a taping. It was for Veejay Alan Hunter's show. Martha Quinn was also there and I noticed she was shorter than me. During filming, Alan asked me to go get beers at the corner shop. He gave me money and said I could get one too. I was only 17! However, I had no problems buying the beer and returned to a grateful veejay. Alan ended up drinking all the beers in between takes. I think he got quite drunk. The crew told me it was his Friday ritual. So for those of you who watched him on MTV in those days, NOW you know why he always looked so happy!

So MTV stole me from David Letterman. Well, that's my fantasy anyway. You lost your chance Dave! I could have been a kick ass intern! Oh and by the way, I've been in Letterman's studio audience twice. Once when Kevin Kline was a guest and the second time we didn't know who the hell anyone was, and neither did Dave!

As I was browsing for Halloween costumes online for the baby I came across this one. Wow! What happened to this outfit? Called The Infant Girls Sock Monkey Ballerina Costume, it looks like a mess!

My take is: The sock monkey got drunk and then while trying to put on some lipstick, tripped over some ballerina girl. The two got glued together by the little girls' snot and this is them in the waiting room in the hospital.

Successfully explaining sex scenes to a 3-year-old

My son has been asking a lot of questions lately. I get asked things like, "Do apple juice come from apples?" and "Why are the car's lights on?"

Well on Saturday, while watching a sex scene in The Notebook, the little guy looked up from playing cars and starting watching the movie. First of all, I didn't expect to see any sex scenes as I thought The Notebook was a pretty family-friendly love drama. To my surprise when the two main characters started going at it, it became a tad uncomfortable as me and Mr Mogul sat there laying limp on the couch.

The kid asked "What is she doing?"

(SCENE 1: Actress is panting and sweating while taking off her clothes)

Mr. Mogul replies, "She's hot so she's taking off her clothes."

(SCENE 2: Guy actor is taking off girl's pants. Camera zooms onto her long naked leg stretching out)

The kid then asks, "What are they doing?"

Mr. Mogul replies, "He's changing her diaper."

I added, "Yeah...her diaper is stinky!"

I then laughed. Yep, and the kid bought it! Whew, safe call.

Oh, and the reason I didn't rush to turn the channel was because I was glued to the couch and exhausted. I also was into this sappy film!

Even bottles are getting to walk the catwalk! As reported by New York magazine, Coca-Cola Light, held a fashion show in Milan to raise money following last year's tragic earthquake in Abruzzo. Profits will help get young women affected by the quake scholarships.

Moschino, Versace and Etro all dressed the bottles. Backstage, the bottles sipped champagne and bitched about each other before the show.

On Sunday morning my friend had her baby. The weird part was that I knew when it happened.

Here is the story:

On Saturday night I decided to put my cell phone on the nightstand next to me. I left it on. Usually I put it away downstairs so this was unusual.

In the middle of the night the phone rang. It was 3:35am. I saw my friend's name on the display screen and answered. I heard people talking in the background but no one was talking to me. I hung up and went back to sleep.

On Sunday morning I called my friend. She was in the hospital resting after having delivered her baby! She gave birth at the exact time my cell phone rang! She was not dialing me at all but screaming in pain. How the buttons on her phone decided to call me who knows?
