At this time I have decided that I will not post on my blog- Mrs Windy City. I am still debating whether or not I will return to the field of entertainment news and gossip in blog form. At this time it is on pause. While I enjoy keeping my readers up to date on what is going on I cannot consistently keep my blog updated. This year has brought on some challenges in my personal life as well as my professional life. As I iron out the details and take the next step towards my future I cannot maintain my site to the standards I hold for myself and my work.

There are many other entertainment sites and blogs that are doing a very good job of entertaining me as well as you.

Lets face it: everyone thinks they can blog and be an entertainment reporter. And its true, ANYONE can but to put your own style, voice and pizzaz on stories, gossips and media is very hard. I don't want to have the same pictures and stories as five other blogs. That is why I have stated that there are many others doing a great job keeping US entertained. Currently I am figuring out what I want to do and in what capacity.

I love and really want to be at exclusive events with a personal photographer that brings you into the events with me. I don't want to use the same pictures off of WireImage etc. that everyone else uses and I did love doing the podcasts, even though there were only 2! I have more hopes and dreams for my website and hopefully they will come into fruition. Maybe I will do a weekly anti-bandwagon blog. Who knows? Who cares? LOL

I thank all of my readers and fans who have come to know me as well as support me. I thank all of my friends and family who have supported me this far.

The page is still active and you can look in the archives and see past posts. I may be back in a different way doing different things for Chi City but know that I will always be Mrs Windy City (its copyrighted!)

Lisa Wu Hartwell: Misunderstood Mommy

Im very opinionated and I must say it doesn't necessarily come across on this blog (an announcement coming soon about that!) but I must go toe-to-toe for Lisa Wu Hartwell.

So many blogs and websites are going in hard on Lisa. Why? She did an interview with Star Magazine and in the interview she says she wants to gain custody from her ex-husband Keith Sweat ONLY to put her two other sons on the show Real Housewives of Atlanta.

I believe the interview was taken out of context. I have interviewed personalities before and when you use quotes and insert your own opinion into the story things can get confusing. I think her two oldest sons see the show and the baby brother and would like to see themselves on there also.

Bloggers and websites are also giving her flack because she LOST custody of her children. Throughout the divorce there were hurled back-and-forth charges of infidelity, violence, fraud and theft. What people aren't looking at is

1) when its a celebrity (Keith Sweat) vs a 'normal' woman (Lisa) how the judges are more inclined to go with the father on a verdict especially in the south

2) Keith sweat has SOLE CUSTODY of his other children also....hmmmm I wonder why? (Money, fame and influence will get you anywhere and everywhere!)

I have had first hand experience with a family member who lost custody of her son to a now retired NFL player. After she did not want to abide by his rules anymore. The tricks and stunts and allegations he and his lawyer pulled to get the young boy were unbelievable! When you have money, are easily recognizable and play dirty a woman CAN AND WILL LOSE CUSTODY.

Lisa told Essence this today:

It is a very private issue. My husband, myself and [ex-husband] Keith Sweat are trying to work things out. Our children are doing fine and I see them every other day and sometimes every day..... I would never exploit my children nor do I feel the need to impress anyone. ...It's sad that people pass judgment on things they know nothing about. At the end of the day I can't worry about everyone else, I have to stay focused on what's important and that's me and my family.

Some bloggers and online publications like to be messy but when it comes to children, heartache and lies to me its unacceptable. I hope Lisa does get her children back!

Fefe Dobson is back and thinks Rihanna is a copycat?

I know you've heard the name FeFe Dobson. Even if it is in relation to
Rihanna and the swagger jacking Rihanna (supposedly) did. FeFe is back
with a new album and it seems that maybe just maybe she felt Rihanna
jacked her too.

She talked to honeymag.com

"Turns out, she just took a hiatus (3 years) after being dropped from
her Island Def Jam (home of another similarly-styled, newly anointed
"rebel"). "

Honey Magazine: You were already on Def Jam when Rihanna signed,
right?
FD: I was first I was signed to Def Jam in 2003. I think she was signed
in 2005

Honey: Basically, her career did not affect yours whatsoever?
FD: I wasn't associated with it anymore, but do I get comparison… all
over the place. To me, again, we are different. It's like
Avril-syndrome. You ask me now, and yes, we are both black but it's
not the same music. She might have some guitars on her thing but what is
that? It doesn't make it the same music.

Honey: That's my point. The image thing — to go so extreme, from
dancehall reggae queen girl to cool, punky, rocker-chick. People say
Rihanna bit your style.
FD: I mean, for sure I question that, but who wouldn't. She is
supposedly a fan of mine. I try to take it as a compliment. It gets a
little much when she starts getting the same tattoos as me but overall I
just want people to separate the image and listen to the music. It's
about the music. Its like Prince and Michael Jackson, totally different
artists. Or its like Kanye West and Jay-Z. So what? They are both black
men, they sound different. So they both wear jeans, they are different.
And why would you want the same type of artist?

Honey: People are definitely doing an image comparison.
FD: To me, dressing is like an expression. You don't have to be crazy
or whatever. Just wear whatever you want to wear.

Honey: I think you can tell when it's contrived and when it's
authentic.
FD: I agree. I do have to say one thing though, her songs are well
written. I know Ne-Yo writes some stuff and he is an amazing writer but
we're just different.

Honey: Have you guys met?
FD: Yeah, I met her when she was the dance hall queen with the long
hair. She was a nice girl but very quiet.

Antoine Walker in Nevada court

Antoine Walker said nothing about the $822,500 he owes to casinos in Nevada court.

Walker was not asked to enter a plea before Las Vegas judge and a court date of set a Sept. 16 evidentiary hearing date.

Prosecutor Bernie Zadrowski told the judge the two sides might try to negotiate a settlement before that date.

Each charge carries a possible one- to four-year prison term.

I woke up this morning and saw this! Im like what in the world did she do? At first I thought it was only one side and then.......then......I saw the back.

Maybe I'll like it when they cut and style those extra weave pieces in the top and line her up tighter...shrugging shoulders.... I guess this is this new thing---- I CAN'T and WON'T copy....

When Rihanna first cut her hair off I admit I ran out and cut mine off. Now its growing back and I'm so happy....but this?

Lance Briggs back in court for child support drama

Brittni Tribbett is suing Chicago Bears linebacker Lance Briggs for more child support.

Here we go AGAIN.

This started around two years ago. Briggs had three kids with three women in 14 months. And now Brittni wants to see what he pays for the other two children.

In court Wednesday, the attorney for Briggs' ex-girlfriend Brittini Tribbett requested more detailed financial statements from Briggs. Enrico Mirabelli, Tribbett's lawyer, said after the hearing he believes canceled checks and other information might shed light on how much money Briggs is shelling out in child support and related expenses for two other children.

Whoomp Whoomp. Brittni is currently getting $1,500 weekly in temporary child support. I know I know Lance signing that big $36 million contract in 2008 doesn't help but its something. That's $6000 a month! But Brittni lawyers says:

"We're looking for Lance to support Nariana as he would if the child were living with him. We want Nariana to enjoy a lifestyle as any child whose father earns a substantial income might enjoy -- certainly nothing less than he provides for his other children," Mirabelli said.

So $6,000 a month can't provide that lifestyle? Brittni is still crying that she is living in an apartment with her mother. Why? Does the child have an illiness we don't know about? Or is it anger and jealously because he promised to marry her and he left her? I don't understand. How many clothes and toys does a 2 year old need? The lifestyle that baby would have if she was living with Lance would be what? A nanny and a personal BMW 745 to go to Toys R' Us? I know some beautiful places Brittni and her daughter can live. Marshall's carry desgner baby clothing. Im being hard on her because I don't understand this big azz mess. How many single mother's out there are getting $100 a month! Or nothing!

I guess Brittni feels she is entitled to what the law states : 20% of the father's income for the first baby and 10% for all children after. I think her child was not the first born so Brittni is looking for $600,000 a year which would be $50,000 a month? Ha ha ha.... goodluck. I guess she's still living with mama because that child support is going to those lawyer fees.

Antoine Walker faces three felony counts of writing bad checks

Former NBA star Antoine Walker faces three felony counts of writing bad checks to Las Vegas casinos last year, the Las Vegas Sun reported on Tuesday.

Walker is accused of writing 10 bad checks worth a total of one million dollars to three casinos. Prosecutors said Walker repaid 178,000 dollars of what he owed but still faces criminal charges for the remaining 822,000 dollars.

The debts were undertaken from last July to this past January.

Yesterday Bayview Loan Servicing filed a foreclosure notice against Curry, his wife, Patrice, Morgan Stanley Credit Corp., the People of Illinois and Kay Bros. Enterprises Inc.

Curry and his wife took out a $3,719,316 mortgage on the home at 6655 Lee Court on July 3, 2006. The mortgagee named on the filing is Eddy Curry.

At the time Curry and his wife took out the mortgage for the home, there was an initial monthly payment due of $28,675. As of June 26, 2009, the back amount due is $217,502.82

The filing seeks the house to be foreclosed, and put up for sale.

I was so disappointed with the BET Awards. I know it was a last
minute tribute, I get it but it looked like it and it felt like it was
last minute. Jamie Foxx did a fantasic job of hosting and
entertaining. The performances were ok. Nothing to write home about
or even post videos of. The mixture of the current songs and Michael
tributes would have flowed much more nicely if a mini-tribute at the
beginning and then the last hour a humongous tribute with all the
stars. And for BET or Jay-Z or whoever to deny Chris Brown the
opportunity to perform his famous Michael Jackson tribute did not sit
well with me. We had Don Cornelius on stage who assaulted his wife
some months back. Why not Chris?

Some things I noticed: Those young girls on stage w/ Drake and Weezy
were Tiny's group the OMG Girls
Sherri Shepard was there with that cute WWF wrestler
Drake tore his ACL thats why he was standing

Moving on.. was BET trying to instal subliminal messages to make us
like Tiny and Toya's new show with all those commercials? I watched
the show and I was majorly disappointed. It seems I have never heard
Tiny speak and I don't think I want to.... goodness. We get it you're
famous and have everyday problems (it was sad about Tiny's dad and
Toya's mom) but I hope they are still grateful about being able to
'have anything they want'. There are some people that don't have 10
percent of what they have. All in all I feel I won't miss anything by
not watching this show.
