They will be without midfielder Aaron Ramsey and captain Mikel Arteta after both picked up injuries during the North London derby at weekend, but Jack Wilshere should be fit to return from an ankle problem.

The Gunners lost away to Borussia Dortmund on Matchday One and were comprehensively beaten, with Jurgen Klopp’s side appearing quicker and more clinical in every area of the pitch.

Summer recruit Alexis Sanchez has form scoring against Turkish sides following his goal against Besiktas in the qualifying rounds.

Back Sanchez to score first at 9/2

Victory over Sivasspor in the Super Lig on Friday was Galatasaray‘s first win in four matches in all competitions, a run that included their goalless draw with Anderlecht in the opening game of the group.

Manager Cesare Prandelli will hope talisman Burak Yilmaz can continue the form that sees him lead the club’s scoring charts with three goals in six matches.

Galatasaray’s chances are reflected in their long 5/1 price to win the game.

Barca, who thrashed Granada 6-0 on Saturday, have dropped just one point in their six La Liga games, scoring 17 goals and conceding none.

Brazil forward Neymar and Argentina captain Lionel Messi scored five goals between them against Granada as the pair illustrated their growing understanding on the pitch.

Neymar scored a hat-trick, while Messi’s double saw him pass 400 career goals for club and country.

Chelsea have had a storming start to the season, winning all four games and scoring 15 goals along the way.

Their two headline summer signings, Diego Costa and Cesc Fàbregas, have scored seven and supplied six respectively, form reflected in their short 13/10 and 4/1 odds to score at any time on Sunday.

Chelsea did the double over Manchester City last season and were the only visitors to beat them at home in the Premier League.

If they do it again to preserve their 100% start to the season they’ll be eight points clear of City already – few sides will be as short as 2/1 to win at the Etihad.

However, Chelsea showed their first signs of weakness midweek as they surrendered a 1-0 lead at home to Schalke in their Champions League opener.

City are seeking their first league win in three matches; failure to beat Chelsea would represent their worst run for 19 months, when they only earned two points out of a possible nine.

The onus is on Manuel Pellegrini’s side to close the five-point gap between the sides at this early stage of the season, and he’ll be looking towards his own star striker to help make up the difference

Sergio Aguero has scored 10 goals in his last 12 Premier League appearances at the Etihad Stadium, and he leads the betting at 5/1 to score first on Sunday.

Frank Lampard is set to play a part for Manchester City against Chelsea, the club for whom he made 648 appearances. A cheeky punt on Frank to spoil Chelsea’s perfect start, by scoring anytime, is available at 5/1.

It’s a mismatched tie that the Premier League tends to throw up from time to time, but Burnley will hope that catching Chelsea early will increase their chances of causing an upset.

Chelsea start this campaign as 2/1 title favourites. The signings of Cesc Fabregas and Filipe Luis have addressed the lack of central midfield creativity and attacking fullback play that dogged the Blues last season.

However, it’s the £32m signing of striker Diego Costa that’s bolstered the Blue’s title credentials. On the face of it, the Spain international looks the perfect fit for Mourinho’s Chelsea, a spearhead with the right balance of force and finesse.

Given the Blue’s recent history with big money strikers, many will reserve their judgement, but with little competition for his starting place and on the back of a prolific season in Madrid, the Brazilian will have a huge role to play in bringing the title to West London.

Back Costa to score first on Monday night at 4/1

Many pundits have Burnley as favourites for an immediate return to the Championship, although it’s worth remembering that this time last year, the East Lancashire club were also tipped for relegation into League One.

The Claret’s summer signing Lukas Jutkiewicz could partner Danny Ings up front after impressing in pre-season. The later will be intent on replicating the goal-scoring form that saw him net 21 times in the Championship last season.

Right-back Kieran Trippier registered 14 assists last season, the second highest tally in the second tier, and is another name to look out for this season.

However, Chelsea’s excellent record on the opening weekend in the Premier League will mean Trippier will be a lot more concerned with the defensive side of his game.

Following on from a number of close fought victories for the top sides this weekend, we’re back a 2-0 Chelsea win at 5-1.

Washington (63-52) leads the East by 4 1/2 games over second-place Atlanta (59-57), but the series finale could be washed out since thunderstorms are expected all day.

That was the case Saturday, when the start of the game was delayed 3 hours, 41 minutes due to rain before Wilson Ramos’ single in the 11th cleared the bases in Washington’s 4-1 win. The final out was recorded at 2:29 a.m. local time Sunday, giving the Nationals a third win in four meetings with Atlanta.

Inclement weather could also dampen Denard Span’s chances at extending his hitting streak to 14 games, which would match Ramos’ team high for the season.

Span has a .426 average during his run after going 2 for 6 with a triple Saturday.

The centre fielder has five hits in this series, improving to 12 for 29 (.414) over his last five games at Turner Field. However, he’s 0 for 6 with three strikeouts against scheduled starter Alex Wood (7-9, 3.20 ERA).

The Braves are turning to Wood in the hopes he can help them win for just the second time in 11 tries.

He’s going to need some help since Wood is 2/3 with a 2.92 ERA in eight starts since returning to the rotation, and he’s been given two total runs in the past three.

The left-hander has allowed one earned run in each of his last two starts, spanning 13 innings with Atlanta losing both contests.

Weather permitting; we’re backing the Nationals to give themselves some more breathing space atop the NL East at 21/20.

Real won Europe’s elite club competition for the tenth time last season, after defeating their Madrid rivals and La Liga champions Atletico 4-1 in the final in Lisbon.

Meanwhile, Sevilla made it to the Super Cup after defeating Portuguese champions Benfica in the Europa League final.

There’s no doubt Madrid’s Welsh maestro Gareth Bale will relish a trip home to Cardiff, as well as another opportunity to add to his impressive medals haul.

In his debut season with Los Blancos, the former Tottenham Hotspur star won the Copa del Rey and Champions League. The Wales international scored in both of those finals and he’s 7/2 to grab the opener on Tuesday.

Sevilla are likely to field a much-changed side from the one that featured in the Europa League final in May.

Star man Ivan Rakitic has been snapped up by Barcelona, and Sevilla are yet to find a like for like replacement.

One player who’ll be attempting to fill the void is Liverpool forward Iago Aspas, who’s arrived on a season-long loan after failing to force his way in to the starting line up at Anfield.

Aspas managed 12 goals in his one and only season in La Liga with Celta Vigo and remains an outside 4/1 shot to score anytime on Tuesday.

Instead, both sides will now been keen to wrest the upper hand before the final game at the Oval next week.

The third test was highly worrying for MS Dhoni as his India side lacked flair in both bowling and batting. Some changes could be expected and Dhawan is likely to be the first casualty after failing to build a platform in any of the three Test matches. Gautam Gambhir could play in his first Test match since December 2012, also against England.

Meanwhile, England’s fast bowler Liam Plunkett has been ruled out with an ankle injury, with Steven Finn replacing him in the squad.

The Middlesex fast bowler has had problems with his run-up and rhythm – which saw him sent home from the Ashes tour – but he is firing again.

He has a superior average and strike rate to James Anderson and Stuart Broad and was also the fastest English bowler to 50 Test wickets. Back him to take most wickets in the 4th test at 7/1.

The draw is the 10/11 favourite for this contest, as result of a weather forecast that suggests the players will be on and off the field with rain delays.

Admittedly, it doesn’t look good but it should not be forgotten the potential for lost time to be found again. England, therefore, are 7/4, a hike from the 6/5 they were for Southampton, while India are available at 9/2.

The third major of the golfing calendar is upon us, as the world’s elite head to Hoylake for the 143rd Open Championship.

We’ve previewed our picks for the claret jug, ahead of what we hope will be a profitable weekend on Merseyside.

Justin Rose – 16/1

England’s Justin Rose will go into this weekend as one of the firm favourites. The 33-year-old is golf’s most in-form player, with wins in his past two tournaments. He bids to become the first Englishman since Nick Faldo in 1992 to lift the famous Claret Jug.

Phil Mickelson proved back-to-back victories at links events are possible last year. However, while Rose is a proven major champion at the US Open, he has yet to produce this form in the UK equivalent.

In fact, The Open has proved to be Rose’s weakest major, never finishing top-ten since a remarkable fourth place as a teenage amateur 16 years ago. Rose can’t be discounted, but at such short odds many will look for value elsewhere.

Graeme McDowell – 28/1

Having come extremely close to getting his hands on the Claret Jug two years ago at Royal Lytham & St. Anne’s, Graeme McDowell is a player with all the attributes to become an Open Champion.

The Irishman has a great track record on links courses and won the testing Open de France on his last outing. Furthermore, his form shows an identical pattern to the run-up to his 2010 US Open victory: win – week off – major win.

The 34-year-old is an accurate driver of the ball, a great shot-maker, and an excellent putter, so there’s nothing to suggest he isn’t a serious contender this week.

Matt Kuchar – 40/1

Kuchar is enjoying yet another hugely impressive season and his stats suggest he has every chance of going very close at this event.

After four missed cuts in the first decade of this career, the American has made the weekend in three of the last four Opens with a best finish of ninth in 2012.

His results this year have been great with a tournament win at the linksy challenge of the RBC Heritage, a tied fifth at the Masters and tied 12th at the US Open.

Not long but incredibly accurate off the tee, paired with a deadly touch both on and around the greens, the 36-year old is set up for a big weekend at Hoylake.

Thomas Bjorn – 60/1

If you’re looking for a player that fits all the recent Open Championship trends, Thomas Bjorn may just be your man.

Each of the last three Open Championship winners were in their early 40s and came here off the back of four rounds in the Scottish Open the week before, as well as having finished highly in previous Opens.

Bjorn has three top-5 finishes over the course of his Open career, and although his tie for 41st here in 2006 may be the strongest indication of form, Hoylake is much more likely to play like a links style course this weekend.

The veteran didn’t play in the recent US Open but finished inside the top-10 at Augusta back in April, and at reasonably long odds he’s well worth an each-way bet.

Roger Federer disarmed the fastest server in the game of his most potent weapon in a straight sets victory over Milos Raonic on Friday.

Novak Djokovic had an altogether tougher task against Andy Murray’s conqueror Grigor Dimitrov in his semi-final, but the top seed’s class eventually shone through as the Djokovic won 6-4 3-6 7-6 (7-2) 7-6 (9-7).

Mr Sportsbook’s Final tips:

Novak Djokovic to win 3-1 (Set Betting): 3/1

Novak Djokovic First Set Winner: 8/13

Tie Break in Match (Yes): 4/7

Novak Djokovic has progressed past tough opponents en route to the final and although this may take a slight physical toll, he’ll be attuned to performing at a higher level than Federer.

The Serb’s serving was particularly impressive against Grigor Dimitrov, he barely missed any first serves in the first set against the Bulgarian – form we fancy him to replicate in the first set of the final.

Roger Federer is still a formidable threat on grass, but with this game likely to go over 3 sets, Djokovic’s physical staying power and sheer resilience should prove too much for the Swiss.

The teams meet in Sao Paulo, both looking for their first points in Group D after Uruguay were beaten 3-1 by Costa Rica and England lost 2-1 to Italy.

England are 6/5 favourites after an impressive showing against Italy, if they can replicate that performance Roy Hodgson’s side should have little problem brushing past a lapse Uruguay side.

Hodgson has vowed to “use any weapon we’ve got” and is expected to field the same line-up that lost to Italy last weekend, with leading scorer, Wayne Rooney, operating as a central playmaker.

There have been calls for Rooney to be dropped following an uninspiring display on the left of England’s midfield against Italy, but the striker created more chances than any other player in the England vs Italy game (3, including one assist).

Rooney’s available at 6/1 to score the first goal of the game and simultaneously break his own World Cup scoring duck.

Uruguay will be without the suspended Maxi Pereira and the injured Diego Lugano and if England play with the same quick, attacking style, Uruguay’s defence will be exposed.

Uruguay’s strengths are their front players: Edinson Cavani, Diego Forlán, Gastón Ramírez and Luis Suárez.

With this in mind, there should be goals from both sides despite the magnitude of the occasion. We’re backing over 3.5 goals at 13/5.
