We back to business

2022-06-13T13:18:00.004-07:00

Hey guys,

Distractions come in your life and deter you from the things you love. Here I am back at doing what I love. Saving and writing. Over the course of the past 6 years so many things have changed with me personally however the frugal in me stays the same. I don't think that will ever change!

So inflation is showing us all who is boss. With an open market companies can charge whatever for a product they are selling. However I feel like the gas and food prices are price gauging. With that being said. I look forward to utilizing the skills I learned the first recession I went through as an adult to get me through whatever this is. 👊

Back to business.

It's been a long time I shouldn't have left you

2015-06-16T18:52:00.002-07:00

……….Without a strong rhyme to step to

So I've been away for awhile and now it's time to get back to the passions that I have had for so long!

I love to share my secrets of saving and getting things free.

I've joined everything when I first started. Check out the following sites.

Klout

Influenster

Bzzagent

House Party

SheSpeaks

I'll be back and look forward to showing you all the fun stuff I win or I frugally buy!

Kiss my converse

2013-07-30T20:27:00.001-07:00

I love DSW. If ever there was a store that I would say, "get me a gift card to" it would be this store. I got the bought the Jack Purcell Converse for $25.40. With 30% off and 15$ certificates.

Sweet buy. They are in navy/white.

I'm an Influenster

2013-07-09T09:37:00.001-07:00

I love getting stuff in the mail!

It's like I am relieving my birthday when I do this. So I was on Instagram one say exploring and saw this post about Sinful nail polish. I love nail polish. So I click the link and it takes me to Influenster.com

Immediately I am in love with the site. Reviews? Yes I am a product junkie.

So I got my first package unexpectedly yesterday. I was so happy! Now I don't have to buy mouthwash lol

Iheart my car and iheart my radio

2013-07-09T09:07:00.001-07:00

So I have been bad at entering contest randomly and not reaping the benefits. I received an email on June 24th saying I was the winner of the Chevron iheart my car sweepstakes."

I do heart my Christopher. I got my white Pontiac vibe in 2008. Prior to him I had David a red 1993 Chevy Caprice Classic. I loved that car and traveled across the US in him. I miss him. I love the freedom transportation brings.

Radio contests are real!

It was a blessing because it came when I needed it the most.

Keurig KCup Craigslist Catastrophe turns into love

2013-01-06T20:09:00.001-08:00

Let me first say I have been wanting a Keurig since they came out. I don't drink a lot of coffee but I do love tea and hot chocolate. I was so fascinated by a demonstration that I was given at a Macy's during Christmas. Anywho I went on Craigslist to find one since I am frugal and don't like paying full price for anything. It retails at $149 at Walmart http://www.walmart.com/ip/Keurig-B60-Special-Edition-Brewer-and-Choice-of-K-Cups-Beverage-Bundle/20693072.

Let me tell you I had my first bad experience on Craigslist. I saw an ad for a brand new Keurig for $50. Only paying 33% with no taxes seemed like a great win a savings of 67%. I met the lady and for some reason I should have known something was wrong. As soon as I opened the item upon getting it home it looked brand new. I should have known better when trying to plug it in I saw the cord was severely scorched to the core and the item didn't work.

I was so mad. I won't go into detail but I did file a police report. Having no receipt Walmart doesn't allow you to exchange. Luckily I have a friend who works at Walmart and since its really close to Christmas she heard my pleas and allowed me to exchange the item. So many people were exchanging and returning items she got her manager to allow me to get the same exact one but a working one. This one works and I have already registered it on Keurig.com.

Check any appliance prior to purchasing on Craigslist. Plug it in and make sure it works properly. Thanks to my friend Michelle who works at Walmart I enjoyed my first French Vanilla Coffee on my Keurig.

It came with 12 kcups non were hot chocolate :( oh well I have to buy those one my own.

Be frugal but be smart. Lesson learned.

Many shades of me

I am bzzing Covergirl Blastflipstick. #igotitfree

I was so excited to get the Covergirl flipsticks. I tried them all on as shown in the pictures attached. Out of the six colors I only liked one. I didn't think they really went with my skin color. Maybe it's my dark skinned insecurity of wearing colours that don't match or blend in with my skin colour. Muah xoxo

Thanks H and M Austin,Wrapp

2012-11-20T20:38:00.001-08:00

I had such a fun day strolling The Domain here in Austin. My future place of residence right above Tiffany's & Co. Well I downloaded the Wrapp application from the. www.wrapp.com to my phone. It's such a handy way to send gift cards to friends. I received a $6 gift card from a friend and decided to use it this week after the H & M grand opening. Well then another friend sent me one because they knew I was back in Austin.

The place was a mad house on the first day Saturday, November 17. There was no way I was going to get anyone to standout all night with me. So I waited with my gift cards until the dust settled. I can't fit anything in the store except these fab earrings. The highest dress/pants size they have for women is 14. I am an 18 now soon to be 16. Yeehaw thanks for my two pair of earrings H & M for only $2.11 that's very frugal of you.

What annoyed me was the cashiers not knowing about this giveaway online via Wrapp. Who does that? How can you launch something and not inform the people who are the frontliners. That is my pet peeve about companies. They often dish out great ideas and giveaways and make these partnerships and then the people who need to know the info never get it.

When the cashier said she couldn't accept it from my android phone and that she had never seen the code like this on a phone. I asked to see the manager. The manger of course knew what it was. Lightbulb moment... teachable moment. ALWAYS ALWAYS train and inform before launching new stuff.

You waste peoples time and money (well gas). I'm a frugal gal. I like nice things but I do not like spending money AT ALL. Well at least not my own. LoL. So here is the skinny. The app works great. I like the wallet theme. I like that they allow an expiration date on the gift cards as well. The archive function so you can see what you used is pretty snazzy. What I will say is that the application takes up a lot of space on my phone. I don't know why but it does.. That was my one of my pet peeves plus you have to have an internet connection for it to work... That was another thing... when my connection was lost I had to go outside the store and connect to get to the gift card. BLAH... cashier got on my nerve... "I have never seen this before"... It's like they are new to technology but they are the "tech generation". I am 33 so I'm a bit older than them. Gift cards through applications is the way to go. You won't lose them anymore or get them stolen by some thief.. that is unless they get a hold of your phone. .

Well I'm off dolls.

Ipad Queen

2012-06-22T13:44:00.000-07:00

LATE POST WARNING: I WON THIS MARCH 27, 2012

During SXSW2012 I pretty much signed up for everything because:

1. I like to party 2.) I like to win... in that order.

I was at work working on something random when I received an email from Gavin & the Barupay Team. I have always thought that the winning wasn't real, that it was for "other people." Well I became the other people! the lucky people, and it feels GREAT to be on the winning side.

"Hi Edria,

Thanks again for your interest in BaruPay and we hope you enjoyed the SXSW events and parties.

Well, we're pleased to inform you that you are the winner of the iPad-II. Yay! :-)"

I received my IPAD II on March 31, 2012. I took one of my closest friends Pete. It was a fun day! I WON I WON I WON... To be honest with you at first I didn't think I deserved something so nice.

I looked so happy didn't I.

Well two months after I received my Ipad I was getting out of my car when something startled me. There was a guy sleeping in his car. I FREAKED OUT and dropped my bag. My ipad was in it. Why was he sleeping in his car? I'm always curious as to that.

I have been really disappointed in myself that I dropped it but what can you do? It is still functional.

Unfortunantly I didn't have Apple + Care because I didn't know about that.
So here I am with a beautiful item which is somewhat damaged.

I'm just grateful for the win. I'm a techy so I LOVE LOVE LOVE new items and learning how they function. Here I was worried so much about getting stolen but it got damaged instead that should have been my true worry. It has a function on it from icloud that tells me where it is at all times.

So still grateful but hoping I can get it fixed soon.

This is a late post: What a week I had at SXSW! Best Birthday of my 33 years. I decided not just to celebrate a week or month but the whole year! Clearly I am celebrating by myself for the most part. I won the TV below. by creating an account on Freelancer.com.. Matt Barrie flipped the coin between myself and another guy and I WON I WON I WON.. I practically yelled outloud. Most people who know me know my love for shoes.................Kohl's is not making it better with their Candies line... being a Wisconsinite I am in love with the Kohl's department store.. and am quite fond of Senator Herb Kohl. GREAT BUSINESS MAN. I grew up going to the store on a monthly basis in my younger days.

I'm a clearance girl to the tenth degree so they make it hard on me to resist $5 and $10 shoes. I found a pair of black boots on clearance. I got them for $10 plus I got to go back with my $5 coupon.. so in essence they cost me $5 bucks. I saved $70.40 off these boots.

BBW isn't just Beautiful Black Women it's Bath & Body Works. lol

2012-02-28T06:15:00.000-08:00

GIVE US FREE! Happy Black History Month

This month I was my own valentine... because Bath & Body Works gave away 5oz bottles of their lotion/body wash for V-Day. VICTORY DAY. NO hosh posh wishing you were with someone. I conquered that demon of loneliness along time ago. I did the me thing and took myself window shopping. I didn't come out empty handed because I had my free coupon to BBW.

So with my free coupon to Bath & Body Works I got 7 different fragrances of lotion.

I am a hypocrite because I ended up doing the very thing that I can't stand in some couponers. I abused the system. I went to seven different stores in the Austin Area to collect my lot. :-( I know.. ghetto fabulous but I LOVE to smell good, plus they had no serial codes on the free coupon. So this BBW received several beautiful new fragrances of Bath and Body Works lotion.

SAFEWAY Private Selection - Desserts Only for me!

2011-12-05T18:19:00.000-08:00

So I'm a buzzagent and I'm buzzing about the SAFEWAY Private Selection products... YEAH YUMMY FREE!..but hold up not as good as I would have hopped for.... I'm a chicken-a-holic...

so I went with the bar-b-que pizza and the southwestern style chicken trumpets ( 7.69$) for 8. They were not good at all it was like stale chicken and not worth the price. I wouldn't necessarily purchase the pizza or trumpets again based upon the taste, price, or quantity.

Honestly the desserts are worth the money! I have a sweet tooth!.. clearly! I loved the vanilla creme puffs and the chocolate lava cakes!
