I was planning my Stamp Club projects this morning and realized I am on a flower kick. I guess there must be to "May flowers". :) Anyway, here are a couple of the projects I have planned for my club ladies next week:

This first card is using Stampin' Up!'s new "Bouquet Bunch" set from the Summer Mini catalog as well as "Short & Sweet" from the IB&C. The papers used are: Melon Mambo, Old Olive DSP, Pretty In Pink, Watercolor paper. Inks used are: Certainly Celery, Old Olive, Regal Rose, Melon Mambo, Basic Grey, Soft Suede & Dusty Durango.

The second card uses the Stampin' Up! set "For All You Do". Papers used are: Chocolate Chip, Regal Rose, Old Olive and Whisper White. Inks are: Regal Rose, Old Olive & Chocolate Chip. Misc: Build-A-Brad kit, Scallop edge punch, Old Olive ribbon, Curly Label punch, 1/2" circle punch, sponges.

Help! How do I make a nurse's hat?!?!

One of the ladies that attends church with me asked if I would make her a special card and gift bag for a friend who just graduated nursing school. She specifically asked for a "nurse's hat". Well, I didn't have any nurse/medical stamps, stickers, papers or die-cuts, so I knew this would require making a hat with punches or just free-hand.

The small hat is made using the tag punch and the wide oval punch. On the large hat I used the oval coluzzle for the "rim" and free-handed the top part.

I think it turned out pretty well. What do you think???

As some of you have probably heard by now, Stampin' Up! is making quite a few exciting changes to their color line. Twenty-nine colors are retiring, but the great part is...some of our past IN COLORS will be returning!! In addition, SU will introduce 5 new in-colors each year and they will stick around for 2 years! Whoo-hoo I am so excited to see this change.

I can't wait to start using some of my old favorites again, such as Baja Breeze and Riding Hood Red...and Tangerine Tango...and...well you get the picture!

As I said in my last post, I am spending all of my free time making items tell sell at an upcoming church bazaar, so here are a few bookmarks for the younger crowd. I got the idea of the characters from Splitcoaststampers.com (of course) and decided they would make cute bookmarks. The jumbo paperclips are from Walmart. I think I'll make a few more characters and create a kids' birthday card, too. They sure are alot of fun to make! :)

I've been so busy I haven't had time to post, so I thought I would just post a handful of cards each day to show what I've been up to. There's no impressive technique or difficulty to these cards and they are not "Stampin' Up Only" cards, but they are pretty typical of the cards I sell.

I made these little gifts for the grandkids of a friend of mine. They are visiting her from Michigan and are ages 6 & 9 (a boy and a girl). I thought these little notebooks would be cute. I know my kids use them all the time for notes and hangman and tic-tac-toe. I hope they like them, too.

My oldest daughter, Emma, was invited to tag along with a friend to a first birthday party for one of his family members. So, I quickly made up this card to go along with the theme which was "cupcakes" and "pink & green". I thought it turned out pretty well. I even added her name on the inside. I'm pretty sure that the one-year-old won't appreciate my handiwork, but I'm sure someone did. :) Leave a comment and let me know what you think.

The hostess for my workshop last week requested watercoloring, so we made this card using the Loads of Love set and blender pens. I really like the color combo for summer and all of the ladies loved the versatility of this set. Some were filling the truck with the presents and making it a birthday card and others with the puppies for a pet lover they had in mind. It was fun to watch their creativity!

Here is another card I made using the Tart & Tangy set. It was one of the 3 projects we did in a workshop I held last week. Some of the ladies changed it up and used the "orange" stamp as a "lime" and some of the teachers chose to make it all apples. Have I told you how much I love this set?!?!

This is a card that I cased from Jan Tink on SCS. I changed the DSP and cardstock color, but the design is the same. I just love the golfer guy in this set. Maybe it's because he looks like my daddy (well, minus the big nose, of course!).

This is one of our three Stamp Club projects this month. I wanted to make an "elegant" card and since I needed a wedding card later this week (hi Brandi & Steven!), I thought I would make it say "Best wishes". The sentiment could easily be changed for a sympathy, birthday or thank you card, etc. I know I probably say this alot, but, this card really is prettier in real life! (Maybe I just need to work on my photography skills!!)

When I came across this photo of my now almost 12-year old daughter, I knew I needed to get back to scrapbooking. It's a very very simple page, but I love the colors -- tempting turquoise, green galore and rainbow sherbet DSP.

Poppin' Pastels...

I had been wanting to try out the Poppin' Pastels technique for a while, but just got around to it. Here I challenged myself to make a card using this technique and only scraps from my stash. This picture really doesn't do it justice, the colors are much more vivid. The patterned paper is the "negative" left over after using the Top Note die....(I save everything!!). The colors used are: Almost Amethyst, So Saffron, Certainly Celery, & Regal Rose along with the Tea Party DSP. The stamp set is: Upsy Daisy (item #111710).

Today was our second stamp club meeting and we had a great time! I'd like to share with you the four projects we made. The first one uses the Loads of Love stamp set (along with the L.O.L. Accessories set) and was CASE'd from someone on SCS (sorry...I don't remember who.)

This card is using the new Thoughts & Prayers set from the Spring/Summer catalog. I LOVE this set!

Next we made a gift card holder using the Top Note Die...this one was a big hit!

And lastly, we made the Ghiradelli chocolate box from the SCS tutorial:

Hi everyone! I am finally back to posting after (unexpectedly) taking the holiday season off! I'm not sure where the time between Thanksgiving and now has gone, but it sure went FAST! It was a wonderful holiday season with lots of time to spend with my husband and kids...but now I'm ready to start creating again. Here are a few of the items we made in stamp club yesterday. A man in Georgia calls his son in California the day before Thanksgiving and says, "I hate to ruin your day, but I have to tell you that your mother and I are divorcing; forty-five years of misery is enough.

"Pop, what are you talking about?" the son screams. We can't stand the sight of each other any longer," the father says. "We're sick of each other, and I'm sick of talking about this, so you call your sister in Denver and tell her."

Frantic, the son calls his sister, who explodes on the phone. "Like heck they're getting divorced," she shouts, "I'll take care of this," She calls immediately, and screams at her father, "You are NOT getting divorced. Don't do a single thing until I get there. I'm calling my brother back, and we'll both be there tomorrow. Until then, don't do a thing, DO YOU HEAR ME?" and hangs up.

This Thanksgiving we have family coming in, so I made these cute little pumpkins using the Autumn Vine paper to add to the table. My daughter, Emma, also made some cute napkin rings and peppermint patties for each place setting using this paper. I will post pictures of those tomorrow.

I came across this adorable little bat card made from circle punches here on youtube and knew I had to make him. This card is for some good friends that "hang out" with our family every Halloween. (Sasha, if you are reading this...pretend you didn't see it! LOL).

Another cute punch idea is to make owls as seen here. My 13 year old daughter, Emma, and I made some of these little guys (I'll post our cards, later), and then she decided to expand on this idea and make a turkey! She is SO creative -- check out her result....

Fall...I love everything about it. Here in the North Georgia Mountains, there is already a nip the air and some of the leaves are beginning to change. I just wish it could be fall year round. Well, at least fall for six months and spring for 6 months! Anyway, to honor this awesome season I created this super-simple card. It's so simple, in fact, that I'm almost embarrassed to post it! Both the leaf and the saying are the Michael's $1 stamps and the ink is Stampin' Up! (Old Olive, Summer Sun, Pumpkin Pie & Chocolate Chip). Thanks for looking....

This is a card I made as a special order. The lady that requested it wanted the baby's name spelled out with beads. I really like how it turned out -- I hope she will, too! This stamp is called "Yawnnn!" and is from "Happy Hoppers". You can find it HERE. I colored it using prisma pencils and gamsol.

Peppermint Patty box

I had been looking for a 3-D project to add to my upcoming workshop when I stumbled across this cute little box. The idea for this project came from HERE. It was originally designed to hold a couple Ghiradelli chocolate squares, but I changed it up a little and added some peppermint patties I had on hand.

I used Stampin' Up!'s design series paper "Summer Picnic', Old Olive, Real Red and Bashful Blue cardstock and of course the scallop circle punch. After all, where would I be without my scallop punch (gasp!)!! This little box went together real quick and would look cute with just about any paper or stamp. I think I may consider doing some Halloween ones for the workshop...we'll see. If you are interested in attending my October 18th workshop, please send me an email and reserve your spot. I signed up to sell some of my handmade items at our upcoming church bazaar on the September 20th. Besides my usual cards, I am planning to sell some treats for the kids to buy and thought I would share some of them with you. I decided to try out my now "Pick a Petal" stamp set after seeing all of the great ideas on www.splitcoaststampers.com. This set is so versatile -- it's not just for flowers as you can see by my sample. It can be used by all types of things...check them out here . Here's a little history on how our stands came to be... Back in January (2008), I was becoming frustrated with always searching for my ATG under piles on my scrapbook table.
