I suppose this betrays how far behind we are in the Vilhauer house - this is a beer, next to a radio, which is tuned to Game 163 of the MLB Season. Twins vs. Tigers. Twins WIN! (And, since then, they’ve been swept, the Yankees are in the World Series, and I’ve already forgotten that baseball is still on.)

It’s true. We do this every year.

The trailhead for the Mickelson Trail is right down the road from where we were staying, so we ventured out and walked around for a bit.

Hit Deadwood for the South Dakota Festival of Books a few weeks back and visited the cemetery where Wild Bill and Calamity Jane are buried. Pictures of those graves are over on Flickr, but these pictures seemed to capture the atmosphere of the place a little better.

There’s something about bowling that makes a person want to frame all of their pictures in retroness. If I’d have had a Polaroid, I’d have spent the entire time shaking pictures. So you’ll have to forgive all of the extra “rounded corner” shots of random things. I couldn’t help myself.

Though it’s still nice outside, and we’re far from packing up the swings and lamenting about winter, this was technically the last time we hit the swings during this summer. I thought I had posted pictures from this set earlier, but looks like I forgot. Oopsers.
