Secret In lit class today I wanted to make a point to Huiling about the use of the word "loops" in the poem. I couldn't phrase my point accurately and I got annoyed with myself. I thought of autistic people then, how hard it must be to not be able to express themselves.

I think I made a mistake taking H3.

I surmise by now Mr Dio would know I'm not much of an intellectual given my lacklustre answers to his "What do you think about....?" questions.

Which happen to be very frequently posed, by the way. I would just give a bashful giggle and hem and haw. Yeah...not very intellectual :/

I love my library sessions. I hate the fact that national library is so far from my house (kinda) and squeezing on the train isn't very fun, but I love the immense pleasure of reading a book without feeling guilty. It's LEGITIMATE reading. (Even though I would really love to read my princess diaries series too.) I can't remember the last time I read so many books within such a short span of time.

And it's the reason why I decided to take Lit H3 anyway. Because doing it wouldn't seem like a chore. Ms Oon was like "What are you focusing on for your paper?"

Me "Uh...I haven't really decided yet."

Ms Oon "I told you to take H3 history already! See lah, should have just followed in your sister's footsteps."

But I can't picture myself trawling through boring old history books. I look at my history notes and I feel like crying (okay, exaggeration here), so how can I look through history BOOKS and know that this was the path I chose?

Impossible.

Back to literature. One of the reasons why I'm so scared is because I fear I won't be able to select three good, proper books to analyze as texts. The deadline for the proposal is FOUR stupid days away, totally insufficient for me to even finish up half the texts I'm considering.

And we're not given enough guidance. Basically I meet up with Mr Dio for 15-30minutes on thursday mornings. Of course, I am permitted to text him random questions like "Can I consider girl in translation as one of the texts? It's around O level standard though"

To which he replies "Nah, ..."

I was so upset. I spent three hours reading (and shedding tears midway) through that awesome book.

Yes I cried in the library. One of the reasons why literature is so amazing is that it stimulates my tear ducts so my contact lenses won't get so dry. Imagine if I was reading a history book instead. Mammon Inc. was another book I couldn't put down. And O level standard-ish. ):

Anyhoos, I would rather have someone dictate what I should do instead of me figuring things out myself y'know? I'm lazy that way. I know it's against the rules and Mr Dio is already awesome as a mentor, but I'm too dumb to figure out what is good.

Another reason, I love books but I really am not competent in literature. Exam questions are still manageable but a 3000 word essay?

That's like telling my mummy to stop acting cute. Really, really hard.

But let's try to look at it positively.

I think it's teaching me discipline. It's improving my ability to analyze. It's always good to have saturdays to myself, I may be noisy but I also appreciate quality time alone. There are the occasional cute guys in national library ;) It's gonna take a toll on my brain so maybe this intellectual stimulation is connecting my neurons or something, hopefully. I love reading.

Okay I'm now going to be happy and productive and I'm not going to question why I'm doing this :D And I'm going to watch vampire diaries tonight as a reward. Damonnnnnn, I've missed you so much.

I'M FREAKING GRABBING IT! Why should you be upset about getting lemons?

I would be really happy if someone gave me free lemons. You can use it for a facial! Lemons are alkaline and really good for the skin. #Justsayin'

And making lemonade? That doesn't sound very positive. It just sounds like hard work of squeezing the lemons and adding sugar and water.

For full effect, the statement should be something like...

Think of how to make a positive situation out of that one!

When In Korea!

Oh man, I still haven't blogged about NJ Humanities students trip to Korea ):

I probably won't have (and never will) find the time to do a detailed one so I'm going to just lump all the pictures in one post and tap my sunburnt shoulder for actually being able to tick off something from my TO-DO-LIST.

I LOVED THIS TRIP TO KOREA :D

Because the food and company and SHOPPING were awesome, and really, if you have all these three things in a holiday,

Fine, we were informed before the trip that the trip wasn't a "HOLIDAY", it was supposed to be a learning journey about culture, people and well,

Did I ever mention my 2011 was AWESOME? Experiences that had their crappy moments (eg. PW, YLTC, SYF) always turned out really well and any obstacles faced then seem insignificant in the grand scheme of things now.

People say moving on to J1 sucks, but really, I liked it. A lot. Being 16 years old was fun and I'm glad I lived it to the fullest.

Kicked start the year with orientation!

Became a member of the ACT NERDY BLACK SPECS club.

Was tortured in boarding

Helped plan Jasmine and Ailin's surprise! (Only to get cake on my face by sneaky Jasmine)

Went through grueling, calorie-burning SYF dance practices and got our GOLD WITH HONOURS!!! :D

Celebrated Maria's birthdayyy :)

Had fun with the Indian Dancers :D

Did the NIKE RUN :D And stole lotsa free food.

Watched Macbeth :D

Cried when Mr Chee left

Starved for 30 hours.

Had fun!

Loved 03 (STILL DO!)

Had more class parties because we got AWWWWHSUM PMs (Tan and Teow) :D

Who gave us cake, sweets, chocolates, kinder joy and lollipops!

Survived PW!

Fell in loveeeee with Damon Salvatore.

Passed my 16 year mark.

Went for YLTC (Malaysia)

Did CIP in Cambodia

Booked tickets to Batam without our parents

And went to Korea! :D

GOD, that's quite a handful for 2011! Especially since it felt like the year just flew past so quickly.

Ahhh so many experiences this year that I wouldn't trade for anything in the world.

Was talking to Ms Oon and Mr Lim in Korea and they said they hated the new year cause it meant the end of holidays and the start of work.

But NEW YEARS bring so much anticipation and so many promises!

Maybe my new year was spent in my tasteless yellow night gown and reading econs notes instead of kissing a random guy in New York Time Square.

Heck, or even watching fireworks at sentosa. Or on TV.

BUT....

I'M TOTALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO 2012.

I've got big plans and big dreams and I'm going to make sure they come true.

Woke up pretty early for our long day out!

Marge took this picture of me and was like

"OMG THE! You totally have that morning look"

So I was instructed to turn to the side for a picture instead.

That's the tour agency at harbourfront centre. We got our package on groupon for $33. After tips and taxes, it was slightly over 60 bucks each (inclusive of seafood lunch and massage)

We were bored queueing.

And waiting for the boat.

After our seafood lunch (Which wasn't too bad actually! We had crabs, crayfish, fish, veggies, sotong and soup. But each portion was really pathetic and the tablecloth was so oily) we walked around this little garden with fake tiny houses. Oh and the weather was PERFECT, no sun at all.

Okay generally, Batam really has nothing much to offer. Or maybe it was because the tour guide brought us to the most crappy places to shop/in places they'll get commission.

Overall it was just kinda fun to RUN AWAY for a day on our own. First time going overseas without any adult supervision!

What can I say? I'm seventeen and so mature.

Now it's time to hit the clubs. I just need to figure out a way to get Jean's IC and go clubbing with her at the same time.

I won't deny it is natural to be greedy, so here's what's on my wishlist for Christmas 2010.

1) Nice skin. HAHAHAHA. Yeah that's top priority. [Uh, SO DID NOT HAPPEN]

2) Less crappy results. [Pretty satisfied with my results :D]

3) Gold with honours for Indian Dance for SYF. I'm wishing for this more on behalf of jean okay! Oh, the pressure. *dramatic faint* [WE DID IT BABY!]

4) More clothes!!! :D [Hahaha just take a look at Mummy's credit card bill from my online shopping sprees :D BUTTT! I share my clothes with my sisters. I'm nice :D]

5) To be more disciplined and less greedy. Fatness is the downfall of all men. Uh huh. And women. I'm a woman. Oh yeahhh. [I'm currently exploding like a balloon. Self-control = Totally non-existant]

6) To be HAPPYYYYYYYYY (: [I AM! :D]

7) To be a better friend to my awesome poopsie pies and a sweeter sister and less demanding daughter. [Hopefully achieved!]

8) TO BE LESS FLABBY!!! [*Jiggles arms and thighs* - Even flabbier now]

9) Dance better. [I THINK I IMPROVED A LITTLE! :D]

Hahaha okay 2011 has been AWESOMEEEEEE :) It feels so queer to say the year is ending, especially since this year just FLEW past exceptionally fast.

Before you know it, I'd be old and grey. Or a cool, hip grandma :D

People say JC life sucks, but I'm actually lovin' it.

It just feels so...rewarding. Things went pretty smoothly for me and I feel so proud to have survived anything that was challenging (PW, SYF, Promos, YLTC etc.). I'm like, IMMA BIG GIRL NOW YOOOO!
