Big love and thanks to everyone who supported this project! It’s been really fulfilling and motivating to see folks willing to back independent efforts like this. We didn’t reach our goal and therefore won’t be collecting any of the money that was pledged, but some great things have come from all of this.

Which brings us to a rather big announcement… a couple weeks into our fundraiser an offer was made by a supporter in the UK to help facilitate the recording of the “Dear _____ ,” album which means the recording cost for the album & score for this project have dropped considerably.

And so in the next couple days we will be launching a fundraiser to take care of mixing & mastering the album and score as well as the shooting and the short film. So if you pledged on the cancelled kickstarter project and would like to be notified when the new kickstarter project is launched please enter your email below!

However, there’s a catch… as the studio album and short film project will be funded by you, the fans!

In the next 31 days Team Muhsinah aims to raise the $31,000 needed (to cover the cost of producing this album/film project) through the pre-sale of the “Dear _____ ,” album & short film. As exciting as the prospect of this project is… this studio album and film will not be name unless we reach our funding goal.

But not to worry, we’ve made the process pretty painless and rewarding for you guys as all project supporters will receive limited edition autographed pressings and loads of amazing items for their support!

Let’s keep it brief – Yesterday, word got out that Thom Yorke posted a list of his top 10 songs at the moment on radiohead.com, which can now be found in various places on the web, including xlrecordings.com. And guess what song is Thom Yorke’s #6 of his current top 10…
Lose My Fuse By Muhsinah ft Flying Lotus – [ Version 1 on iTunes | Version 2 on iTunes ]. Nice!!!

I know! Quite a way to start the day, huh? Well as you could imagine, Muhsinah was delighted to hear the news, as was I. However, the kicker for me was that on sunday night we started shooting the music video for that very song. (Exclusive stills below)

And so it would appear that my directorial debut will be with a music video for a song that Thom Yorke happens to list as #6 of his current top 10. Not a bad day AT ALL. So hmm… I could be wrong but I somehow find it rather fitting to bring back something we shared with you all some time ago –
A free download of Muhsinah’s cover of “Scatterbrain” By Radiohead! Would you agree? I sure hope so!
