Has it really been that long since there has been a new post on here?!? Seriously need to do some changes about that.

I first wanted to invite you all to come take a look at my personal blog to check out my adventures in Bullet Journaling! 2017 isn't really that well documented. I posted the pictures but writing about so many pictures afterwards was difficult. However, I'm finally caught up on my BuJo for 2018 on the blog. I'm going to try to find a good time during the week to write a blog post. I LOVE inspiring people into the BuJo world. It really has done a lot for me in my life. I truly believe that our Heavenly Father inspired me to dive into it. It has opened doors to me that I knew I needed to open and new ones I never knew were there.

I also have some exciting news! I'm planning on finally getting my Etsy shop up and going around April 9th! It's been years since I've put anything on there. But I've been getting some good feedback on my Instagram about some of the things I'm making. I've been making stuff like crazy for the Market on this coming Saturday and I figured why not try putting some stuff on Etsy again. I even have business cards for it now! So crazy.

Here's a sneak peek of things I've been working on for it!

Yep! The last one will be customizable Fish Extenders for Disney Cruises! I'm excited to get this going. Here's hoping that Etsy sticks for me this time around.
This is Mule here. Sorry that I haven't been able to post anything on this blog lately. I've finally got my hands on a new computer. My last one was ridiculous. I had to fan it to keep it on for more than 10 minutes. It was a ridiculous sight to see. This one is substantially better.

I'm going to do my best to be posting more on here and my personal blog. I've still been creating and getting myself into more crafty things. The biggest one is Bullet Journaling. It's helped me a lot and I'm hoping it'll help some of you, too. I'm going to try and make a goal to post at least once a week.

Here's to trying!Meganhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02411470854412254984noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7119651028330934406.post-64311889188717140212015-01-06T16:54:00.001-08:002015-01-06T16:54:29.141-08:002015 Primary Theme Posters: FREEBIEI know--- a long time, no blogging. I needed to focus on the other aspects of my life (including my most recent pregnancy) before I could come back. This pregnancy happened to be the most difficult and to finish it off, I had the baby five weeks early.

I don't know how much I'll be able to keep up, but it is a desire to do so. I haven't stopped making things, just stopped writing about it. Hopefully, I'll be able to finally share my Gospel Quiet Book templates with y'all, as well.

Plus, my sister and partner-in-crafting, Megan (the Mule of our Mule 'n Nag) is now serving a mission for our {Church} in Hong Kong. So, she's not posting for another year, or so.

Anyway--- I come back with a freebie!

The children's program in the church, the {Primary}, has a church-wide theme which changes each year; each month also has a different theme under the general yearly theme. I made posters to go with each of the monthly themes and I wanted to share them with y'all.

A couple years ago, I discovered this amazing woman, Heather, and her blog {Simply Fresh Designs}. She's made these posters for the last few years, but hasn't had the chance to make ones for this year yet--- so I thought I'd make some inspired by her.

My family prints off the poster as the small size and we display it on our pantry door for the month. It helps our kids practice monthly theme or scripture, if they have it, and sometimes we use it to focus our {Family Home Evenings} to be the same as what they talk about in Primary.

If you download, I just ask that you {LIKE} us on Facebook and continue coming back when I'm able to have a few minutes to share something new.

Download the posters {HERE}.

The biggest one to affect this blog is the Mule of MnN Crafts just recently left to serve an 18 month mission for the {Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints} in Taipei, Taiwan.

Our whole family is really excited & her desire to serve has re-inspired me to start blogging about my crafting endeavors again. One of the reasons I got into this was the digital ability to share ideas with others who are looking. So, long story short--- I'm back!

I figure the best way to come back is to write a review for my fabulous new necklace from {All Things Pretty}.

Danesa, over at ATP contacted me about a month ago to see if I'd do this review & what kind of jewelry I like. I gave her an over-complicated task of finding something that I loved. And she did it.

This is the {Suzanne} Necklace. It's seriously adorable. (Don't mind my pose & wierdo nature).

I think my favorite part about his necklace is that I can wear it two ways.

I love versatility in jewelry. And All Thing Pretty is definitely versatile; I know it sounds SUPER corny, but there really is something for everyone. This is perfect place to find a Mother's Day gift (hint, hint).

Check them out on {Pinterest}, {Facebook}, or on their {website}. You won't be disappointed; as you can clearly tell my pensive 'yay for my new necklace' pose.

DISCLAIMER: I was given this necklace for free to write a review. These are all my own opinions, yada, yada, yada. :)

Danesa also has a great blog called {The Pink Senorita}. You should check that out, as well.Amberhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01001707486830789361noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7119651028330934406.post-6464924750248514162014-03-19T11:14:00.000-07:002014-03-19T11:16:35.098-07:00Purple Felt Dragon

I made this little guy a while ago. It was an interesting adventure. My last full on felt plushie was Frank and he had considerably fewer pieces. Like Frank, this plush was made by a pattern that I created while making him. I was a little frustrated by how the head looked at first but I like it now. It gives him that squishy, plush feeling. He is also all hand sewn, no machine here. Some of the pieces that I had to make would have been a struggle with a machine. I also like how his wings turned out and the fact that they need nothing to stay up like they are. Oh, you can kind of tell that the black felt is sparkly but it really is. It's a fun felt.

He's around 6" tall, 5" wide. Made of felt, polyfil, thread, and safety eyes.
Crafted by Mule (Megan).Meganhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02411470854412254984noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7119651028330934406.post-55190173339148002392013-10-16T11:46:00.000-07:002013-10-16T11:46:06.377-07:00Two Bone-tastic Plushes

Those who know me know that I like creepy cute. I like the juxtaposition of the two ideas that seem like they shouldn't work together. I liked the idea to bring it to Halloween in decorations, once again. The last time I made a creepy, cute Halloween plush was Frank. I still love the little guy. But this time I decided to go with a bone theme.

I drew a couple of different designs for a skeleton before deciding on this one. I thought that this short design with a large head helped keep the cute along with the creepy. The heart was a last decision when I was cutting out the felt pieces. I felt like it needed some color since the front and back were only black and white. (The back is a black and white dotted fabric.) While watching General Conference I hand-sewed on the bones and heart. Then I used a sewing machine for the rest.

I also decided to make a sugar skull. These are little confections that are seen during Dia de los Muertos. I have always liked their aesthetic. The vibrant colors with dark lines was a cool contrast to me. When I first drew this out I thought I was going to embroider a black line for the teeth. But after rummaging through my embroidery thread I saw that I didn't have enough black for that. So I decided to cut out a whole for the teeth and then use that scrap to make the teeth. Something strange went on when I put them on. There wasn't supposed to be a big gap between the rows of teeth, but somehow it happened. I still like the overall look of the skull, though.

Cosplay. I'm such a geek; it makes me happy. I would have loved to make a new cosplay this year but with the move and all the craziness that wasn't going to happen. And not to mention, that money has gone short. So I decided to make something for my last cosplay: a keyblade.

Originally I wanted to make the "Decisive Pumpkin" Keyblade since that's the one that goes best with the cosplay. However, I couldn't because I didn't have the money to go get insulation foam and coat that with resin. I decided to make the "Kingdom Key" because it's classic and I could make it out of materials already in the house. That's right. No money was spent making this since all of the materials were here.

At this stage I had used some cardboard (the kind of the back of sketchbooks) to make the 3D shapes. It's pretty study because I braced the insides with the same cardboard and hot glue. Then I covered everything in craft foam using hot glue. A little messy finish but, again, no money to get Worbla or Wonderflex. Before moving onto the painting stage I used Modge Podge to seal it and then gesso. After that was just to apply the multiple coats of acrylic paint. Seriously, it's a ton of paint. There's at least three coats to each color.

While I was waiting for layers of paint to dry, I made the chain and Mickey charm out of polymer clay. I was praying that this would work. I had to cut three of the links in half before baking and then super glue them around the other links to make the chain. Thankfully the glue I chose is WAY strong and works very well for that and attaching it to the Keyblade.

I can't tell you how excited I am that my Halloween Town Sora cosplay is going to have a Keyblade to go with it. It'll be fun to wear it for Halloween and hopefully a convention some time in the future. And maybe I'll get the chance to make another kind of Keyblade to do the double Keyblade look. ;)
Finally getting around to posting these here. I just haven't been in the mood lately. Anyway, I decided to goof around with my polymer clay because I just wanted to. Every now and then I miss making stuff out of the clay and I want to be able to showcase what I can make for people, if they're interested. So I chose to do some experimenting.

With all the dragons that I've made, I hadn't done an oriental one. All the others have wings and I also like the look of oriental ones. I like how this one turned out, but it does need some adjusting. I don't think that it quite reads as an oriental dragon yet. They're minor adjustments but I think they'll be worth it.

Some time ago I make a tiny dragon and didn't think much about it until recently. I was looking at it and I thought how much I've grown in sculpting with polymer clay. I decided to try to redo him in a different way. I think that the snoz is a bit big for the little guy, but I'm pretty happy with how he turned out. He needs a few adjustments as well.

I usually use a black purse that I sewed when I was still in Washington. It's been a nice size and works fairly well, but I've been wanting one about the same size in white. I didn't want to sew it this time. I wanted to make something that had a lot of texture, and I figured that crochet would get the effect that I wanted.

For this purse I used single crochet, double crochet, puff stitch, chain, and slip stitch to make it. I had used this same pattern for a couple of scarves and decided that it would work pretty well. This purse is worked with a long chain base and then in the round. After completing it I realized that it needed a fabric lining and I planned on using some magnetic clasps to keep it closed. I ended up sewing all of the fabric by had because I didn't want to pull the sewing machine out for something small. It seemed silly to me. So I used a running stitch around and then slip stitch to attach the lining. I also used a slip stitch to adhere the fabric holding the magnetic half on the flap. It think it worked pretty well.

When I'm in my room I've been looking at the 10 Disney Princesses and Merida that I made last spring, and thought to myself that they looked incomplete. Disney has some new leading ladies coming out in November and I knew that I had to make some that would match the ones that I've already made. I know that I should find the time to make some other Disney ladies, but since I'm excited about this movie I figured starting with them would be the best.

Their backs. Yep, I'm THAT obsessive.

I also got around to finishing up the accidental Harry Potter themed dragons. There are the Maroon & Gold, Green & Silver, Blue & Bronze, and now the Yellow & Black. I suppose you can guess which house the dragons belong to. I thought it would be fun to have a matching set of dragons. ;)

I also decided to experiment a little. I have a few extra glass pebbles and I wanted to do something fun with it. Putting the pebble in the center helped me come up with an idea: a dragon's eye. I thought it would be interesting and different than anything I've made before. After baking I put a silver-wash on the clay and then glazed it to help the scales have more texture.

I recently got a hold of Amigurumi! Super Happy Crochet Cute by Elisabeth A. Doherty at Half-Priced Books. I have been wanting to make something from that book for years now but this is the only time I could have gotten the book for under $8. I didn't want to follow one of the patterns to the "T," though. I decided that this would be a good time for making a Dark Elf like I have for some time.

This girl took some time to make. My wrists and knuckles have been giving me some grief more than I had anticipated. I had to take more breaks than I liked. The hair took longer than I thought it would, as well. I hadn't done a french braid for an amigurumi before and it took a little more thought. It was also nice to sew some clothes for her. Everything can come off of her but the shirt. I had to sew it shut although I could have added snaps. I really like how she came out. Now it's time for close-up shots.

Sorry for the poor photo quality. I didn't want to dirty it by taking it outside.

Finally got around to finishing the next t-shirt quilt adventure. I've made one before, but I had a pile of shirts that kept on growing. I wasn't wearing them anymore due to the shirt's being old or I just didn't want to anymore. I wasn't planning on making this now but I had been making some t-shirt yarn from the leftovers of the shirts from the previous quilt that I went on to these shirts to do the same. The quilt just happened.

As you can see this quilt looks a lot different from the other one. A lot of these shirts has so many different sizes of images that the same layout wouldn't work. So I grouped shirts where I knew the images would make the same sized squares or rectangles. I laid them on the ground and knew immediately that I had to fill in the spaces of the rows. I found some old shorts and leftover materials from previous projects and decided to add them to the quilt. People who read the blog might recognize some of them. ;)

This time I decided that I wanted to interface all of the shirts before I sewed them. Not only did this allow me to cut the squares/rectangles nicely, but it stabilized then rather well. There wasn't nearly as much stretching as the other quilt. There was a tiny bit because I was getting lazy and not holding the iron down long enough for the interfacing to adhere completely. Seriously, though. SIX yards of interfacing. Oi.

And I couldn't help but think of someone while I was making this quilt. She passed away in May and was known for making all kinds of things for her family. Quilts were one of the things that she did the most. A lot of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren have one made by her. They're something special now that she isn't on earthy anymore. So I decided to pay a tribute in the bottom right corner of the quilt with some hand-embroidery. Love you, Granni. <3 p="">

This time the polymer madness started because I had an idea for some book charms... and then I kept going. Some of these things I will put on my Etsy shop. I don't think the last two pictures are going to make it on there. One had copyrighted characters and the other picture has some not-so-original ideas.

This dragon matches the Maroon and Gold one from the last polymer adventures. I wanted to use up the glass stones that I have. It just happened that they're going on a Harry Potter color theme. I think I'll have to continue with it. ;)

Hungry like a Zombie?

I had these little bowls from the last time and didn't know what I was going to do with them then. I wanted to make something kind of gross and weird. I think this fits the bill.

Berry Deadly Lollies

These go along with the other Deadly Lollies. This time they look as though they can be berry flavored.

The Bibliophile's Charm

I'm a self-proclaimed bibliophile and I like it when I find another. I really like to talk about books that I'm reading or interested in. It's fun to talk to other writers, as well. I figured making a charm to declare so would be perfect.

Book Genre Charms

These are the charms that got me going on this latest polymer endeavor. I drew up some little images that I thought would convey certain genres and stories. I'm open to other ideas.

These are the charms that I'm not going to put on Etsy... well, Jack and Sally for sure. I don't like the idea of making a profit on copyrighted characters. It doesn't seem right to me. But I like to make them as gifts for friends/family. The ice cream and candycane bunch just didn't seem all that original to put up. I even debated putting them up here on the blog, but I figured what the heck?

It's my nephew's birthday tomorrow and I was trying to come up with something that I could make for him. My first thought was making him R2-D2, but I realized that I didn't have any gray yarn. Then Yoda came to mind but I wasn't sold. Then for some reason the Ewok from Return of the Jedi stuck in my mind. And thanks to my Crochet Link Blanket I had the right colors of yarn for him. I think the ewoks are hilarious and I'm pretty sure he might think so as well. I mean, he's only turning 5. Things that are silly are funny at 5. I think the next time that I make an ewok I will elongate the body by four rounds. The proportions are a tiny bit off to me right now. Either way, my nephew won't care. ;)

Got some more polymer clay goodness happening here. A dragon, a few Mon-mons, lots of Deadly Lollies, and some snails. All were fun to make. The Deadly Lollies came by accident.

First, I'll start with an older craft. This is an amigurumi that I made for my newest nephew. I made this back in February but with the move and all this was the only good picture that I got of it. I'm not sure why I decided on a wolf. All I remember is that I like the color combination and the sparkles in the green yarn. I figured it would make a good plush for him.

Here are some polymer clay rings and a charm. I just finished glazing these yesterday. I've always wanted to make some polymer rings but I didn't have the right ring backs. I eventually found them at a Hobby Lobby in WA and now had a chance to do something with them here in TX. These are the designs that I thought would be fun. And the little charm will be fun to wear on a necklace or something. I thought that Paperman was a cutest short when I first saw it. I figured it would be an awesome charm.

And finally, here is another Mon-Mon. This time he's blue/pink and love brains just as much as the other Mon-Mons. Although this time it seems he may have gotten a little hungry before he could be photographed.

It's done! My first crochet blanket. Ever since I started crocheting almost 10 years ago, I've wanted to make a blanket. I wasn't sure if my patience would wear out, though. So I didn't think about making one seriously until a little while ago. Moving across country had me missing my crochet hooks and I was itching to make something new. Then General Conference came around and it was a perfect time to start this. I like to give my hands something to do so I pay more attention. I hadn't decided to make Link until I looked at my perler creations. I had to choose one that wouldn't turn out too small or too big. This seemed the right fit.

This Link comes from "A Link to the Past." He is comprised of 286 granny squares and 13 colors. The black was the most with 131 squares and over two pounds of Caron yarn. He is slightly over 4.5' by 6.5'. I had no idea that he would end up being so large. I mean, I should have known when I made that first square, but it didn't hit me until I made the light blue ones.

If you want to make one of your own, here is the master list of colors and their amount of squares:

Black - 131

Dark Green - 27

White - 26

Dark Skin - 21

Light Skin - 17

Pink - 16

Light Green - 13

Dark Blue - 12

Orange - 7

Light Blue - 6

Yellow - 5

Brown - 3

Red - 2

If something like this seems to be a daunting task, don't worry. You don't have to do it in 20 days like me. I'm just weird and like to get things done as fast as I can. (And if I didn't have tenosynovitis it would have been done sooner.) Take your time. It's totally worth it in the end. I'm so happy with how it turned out, and I hope that it'll be used for years and years to come.

Mickey Mouse Bag:

You'll need:

G-6 Crochet Hook (4 mm)

Black Yarn

Yarn Darner/Needle

OPTIONAL: Whatever you want the strap to be made of.

Ears: Make Four

Magic Adjustable Ring OR ch4, ss to beginning of chs, ch3

12 dc into ring, ss to top of ch3 (12sts)

inc in every st around, ss, ch3 (24)

*dc into next st, inc in next st* Repeat around, ss, ch3 (32)

*dc into next 2 sts, inc in next st* Repeat around, ss (44) END

Head: Make Two

Magic Adjustable Ring OR ch4, ss to beginning of chs, ch3

12 dc into ring, ss to top of ch3 (12sts)

inc in every st around, ss, ch3 (24)

*dc into next st, inc in next st* Repeat around, ss, ch3 (32)

*dc into next 2 sts, inc in next st* Repeat around, ss, ch3 (44)

*dc into next 3 sts, inc in next st* Repeat around, ss, ch3 (56)

*dc into next 4 sts, inc in next st* Repeat around, ss, ch3 (68)

*dc into next 5 sts, inc in next st* Repeat around, ss, ch3 (80)

*dc into next 6 sts, inc in next st* Repeat around, ss (92) END

Put It Together:

Now you will use your yarn darner/needle to sew the pieces together. Make sure the "right way" is facing each other before you start. Sew the ears and then the head. Then you will sew the ears to the head. Now it's up to you to decide what kid of strap you want. This one is a bunch of yarn braided. Easy but very stretchy, so be careful. OPTIONAL: If you want a button flap then you should crochet back and forth on one side of the head that it open. Make sure to leave a button hole. Sorry I don't have the pattern for this part. I forgot to write it down when I made it over a year ago.

The personality of the species, as well as each, has been fun to discover as I make more and more of them. Who knew that they would be fans of brains? Who knew that they are mischievous and funny? Writing the descriptions has been an awesome part of this as well. I get to give them their own personality just by writing down a couple of sentences. It's awesome.

These are Mon-Mons. I liked the idea of making tiny monsters that were versatile and cute. I came up with this design. The possibilities are endless with the different combination of things on these guys. Everything from faces to poses can be changed. I already have some ideas for Valentine's Day Mon-Mons that I'm itching to start. They're going to be fun. ^^

I accidently used the wrong kind of clay for the bodies. I found out after baking them that I used transparent clay. Oops. This meant the colors are darker and less opaque than expected. I'll make sure to pay more attention to that next time. xD
My project was the Cliptastic Carrying Case and I'll put up a tutorial in the next few days. Starting in January, I'll be competing on {So You Think You're Crafty}. I'm super excited and currently trying to figure out my project list. Thanks for voting and keep doing so throughout the season--- so excited for it to start!

However, that doesn't mean I want to skip over December and Christmas. I love this time of year. Our kids are full into countdown mode; taking full advantage of all three of our Advents. Including the freebie from last year, a {scripture-a-day book about Christ}. It's not too late to make one for this year!

Since I love creating printables, this year, I created one to use on our Christmas card. It's from {1 John 4:9}.

Lately it really hasn't felt like the case. I've been in a semi-rut since I had our third kiddo. (Handsome, healthy and happy baby boy--- by the way). I've made a few things (mostly Halloween creating like my oldest boy's Shaun the Sheep costume), but I haven't had the energy to put it on the blog--- I'll call it being sleep-deprivied.

Now that that babe is 10 weeks old, I've decided it's time to stop neglecting this blog (which is one of my stress releases). One way I hope to get back into the game is through {So You Think You're Crafty}. Over the years, I've had friends tell me that I should be competiting on this blog. You have to email the creator, Missy and she deems your blog worthy (or not) to be an audition blog for the next season. Well, she liked our blog and TODAY starts the audition week. 13 blogs are competiting for 10 constestant spots.

So-- go VOTE! Even if I don't make it, I'll post the tutorial for my audition piece at the beginning of next week.Amberhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01001707486830789361noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7119651028330934406.post-51428938890453979082012-10-18T12:05:00.002-07:002012-10-18T12:05:51.287-07:00Etsy Giveaway!

I decided to make more stuff using my perler beads, today. As you can see all of what I made are still video game related. I can't help it. I like video games. I may be horrid on certain days but that's okay. ;) I'm telling you, if you're a big video game fan then you'll enjoy making these kind of things. I may make these into magnets some day. We'll see.
