They are Rich DeVos and Jay VanAndel. The two built their empire of network across the United States until the late 1950's. But like in most MLM companies today the company started to have some major problems and they almost lost their business and most importantly losing two decades of hard work. In this case, the problem arose between the manufacturer and the marketing arm and because of this unfortunate turn of events. They were unable to sustain the products on demand in the market.

SUNSHINE AFTER THE STORM

Because of their know-how in the industry and the knowlege of the enormous demand at hand just waiting to be tapped. They formed Amway in 1959. Yes, the Amway which still exist up to this very day. The largest MLM company to date. But like in any other industry it was duplicated with all sorts of Joe-pays-for-sam scheme patterned after the "Ponzi Scheme." The nightmare of a would be investors with an MLM look-a-like marketing plan of a madman. More on the Ponzi scheme next time. Subscribe to Multi-Level Marketing Addict by Email

The MLM History

Unfortunately, there are no known documents found on the history of MLM prior to the second world war, excluding the fraud ponzi scheme format of course.
