I was sent a link to a new MLM company today and the first thing that the "hip" video on the company front page touted was, "No Meetings".

Ugh.

That is about as smart as someone saying "The Internet Doesn't Work For Networkers".

It's about time that the Web Nutjobs and the Face to Face Nutjobs face reality....

1. I have never heard of anyone building a long term residual income without getting face to face with their team.

Quote me: Without relationships there is no long term Network Marketing residual income.

2. Any Network Marketer who is ignoring the Internet today is missing out on the biggest single influence on the industry in the last 50 years.

Why must we always deal in absolutes? Only the Sith deal in such ways.

I am probably known as an "Internet Guy", but I had a "one on one" with a new potential business partner in a Starbucks today....I also talked with several other folks from around the U.S. that found me online.

I hate to pull another goofy movie reference out of my hat (actually I can't wait to do it) but, BALANCE DANIEL-SAN.

Dialing MLM Leads From The MLM Lead Network

Every week, I call MLM Lead Network Leads live with a conference call audience listening in. There is virtually no way to hide the quality of the Real Time Local Leads that I dial so either the leads are some of the best in the industry or I look like an idiot. Reputation is something that is hard to come by in the Network Marketing industry, so I don't take it lightly.

To be transparent, MLM Business Opportunity Leads from the MLM Lead Network are not the only way I gather leads for my Network Marketing business. I also create my own leads via the Internet and even my own warm market. You see, I am a big believer in Multiple Streams of Leads and the MLM Lead Network is a great way to fill in the lead gaps that might occur as you create your own streams of leads.

YTB Travel announced that they purchased a traditional travel agency in Ontario, Canada in order to assist in "maintaining compliance" in the Canadian Province.

This is interesting news as YTB has come under fire from traditional travel agents.

MIke Dillard's Building On A Budget - Review and Success Story

"WooHoo! Do a little money dance Ty, because you just made a commission with your Magnetic Sponsoring System!"

If you have never recieved an email with the "Ty, You've Made A Commission!" subject line and the offer to do a little money dance message, you are missing out.

I never get tired of getting messages like that from Mike Dillard, but on Thursday, February 28th, Mike really clogged up my email inbox...more on that later.

It all started about six months ago when I opened up my copy of MLM Traffic Formula for the first time. Yes, I am kicking myself for not getting my hands on Traffic Formula earlier. You see, I thought I was a pretty savvy Internet Marketer...having sponsored 100 people (personally) in a nine month period back in 2004. I created thousands of leads and made a lot of money turning those leads into customers and business partners in my Network Marketing business.

So I procrastinated. I mean, really....what is Mike Dillard going to teach me..."Ty Tribble, blog man" about the Internet. If I could kick myself, I would. One simple idea from MLM Traffic Formula got me to shift some of my efforts into creating my own newsletter. (I had one but it wasn't really active with about 200 subscribers).

Then I focused on two things...

1. Offering Real Value in my newsletter. There is no question that if a person applies what I teach them in my newsletter, they will make more money next month than they did this month. (Give away more in value than you ever expect in return payment, right?)

2. Let People Know About My Newsletter. I placed newsletter opt in forms on my blogs.

Roughly 6 months later, I have nearly 5,000 subscribers to my newsletter.

Back to Thursday, February 28th. I sent out two emails and posted information on my blog sites about Building On A Budget, Mike Dillard's newest program and...

...within 24 hours I had amassed commission of $2,000!

If I had bought MLM Traffic Formula when I first heard about it, I might have made $10,000 in 24 hours with Magnetic Sponsoring!

Want to know the funny part? I used the techniques being taught in Building On A Budget to market Building On A Budget. In other words, I didn't spend a dime on marketing or ads.

I even landed in the top 10 on Google (No. 1 and No. 2 at different times today) when searching for Mike Dillard Building On A Budget.

Introducing Mr. Fugi Saito and His MLM Files

Some time ago, I had an exchange with a very interesting gentleman named Mr. Fugi Saito. The following is an introduction to a two part series based on the files and research he compiled about the Network Marketing industry:

For over 25 years, Fugi Saito has been involved in management and sales. Prior to 1989, Fugi was a Senior Business Analyst with Dun and Bradstreet Canada - Business Data Division. Since 1989 he has been the President of Saito-San Inc., a consulting firm that supplies management and administrative support services to the small to medium business market. He speaks internationally to audiences about business issues including marketing, security, technology and fraud.

Mr. Saito was kind enough to give me permission to publish portions of his files for the benefit of MLM Blog readers.

Here is what Dean Van Druff, author of What's Wrong With Multi-Level Marketing says about Mr. Fugi Saito:

Where Fugi and I wholeheartedly agree is when it comes to dispelling the "Big Myth," as he terms it.

If people take Fugi's advice and really market as individuals selling product and not in marketing the "Big Myth" of a "money making opportunity," then I will admit that the pyramid "Wrong With" rather proportionately fades from view.

I just have to wonder, though, if once the "Big Myth" is popped, what will really be left? Might an MLM minus the "Big Myth" be something else entirely?"

The Origin Of Network Marketing

I think it is important to have an understanding of our history. Here is a snip from an article by Stephen Barrett that digs into where Network Marketing came from (it's such a simple idea):

After seven years of "experimentation," (Carl) Rehnborg produced food supplements which he gave to his friends to try. According to his son, Sam, who became Nutrilite's president and chief operating officer:
After a certain length of time, Dad would visit his friends to see what results had been obtained. More often than not, he would find the products sitting on the back shelves, unused and forgotten. It had cost them nothing and was therefore, to them, worth nothing . . . It was at this point that he rediscovered a basic principle-that the answer was merely to charge something for the product. When he did, the friends, having paid for the product, ate it, liked it, and further, wanted their friends to have it also. When they asked my dad to sell the product to their friends, he said, "You sell it to them and I'll pay you a commission."

MLM Video: Best MLM Companies

I am going to post a video of a couple of guys talking about Network Marketing. If I was going to review the video, I would say it's dull, but the reality is, dull or not, the video has had over 500 views!

Two guys (British?) sitting on a piano bench, yacking about three things that make a great mlm company gets over 500 views. That is astounding.

Is The Middle East Ready For MLM?

The $110 Billion industry of Direct Sales and Network Marketing is about to hit the middle east with an exhibition and conference, the first of it's kind being held in Dubai.

Part time businesses have now been legalized in the country so this is an exciting time for those looking to supplement their income.

Women and students are especially looking forward to the conference.

MLM Web Sites And Traffic

On the subject of web sites, I had a gentleman call me today, asking for my advice. He told me that he had driven nearly 40,000 hits to his web site and had very few people opt in to request more information.

The problem was, his web site was a big mess. No structure or clear goals.

Here are a couple of tips for MLM web sites:

Know your purpose. Most MLM web sites have no rhyme or reason. If the purpose of your site is to collect leads, optimize the site to collect leads. If the purpose of the site is top explain (brand) your business, then optimize for that purpose. Don't try to do too much with a site. Keep it simple.

Here are a couple of examples:

Ty Tribble - Husband, Dad and Entrepreneur

TyTribble.com is a multi-purpose site (actually a blog). It's part branding, part sales and part lead capture. Folks can opt-in for my newsletter and get a free bonus along with great content that will help them increase the size of their bonus check if they apply what they learn. I also sell coaching and consulting on the site as well as write the occasional blog post to drive more traffic.

Ty Tribble and Bo Short: Partnership

This site is a straight lead capture page. The purpose of the page is to find entrepreneurs who want more out of life. The first thing you should notice is the headline. You want your headline to be powerful but the real purpose of your headline to to get people to read the next line and so on. Also notice that the capture form is "above the fold", meaning it is on the screen as soon as someone enters the site.

Having a clear understanding of what you want to accomplish with your web site will take you a long ways.
