In the month of October, 2011 the world's cheapest Aakash Tablet was launched by the Indian Government. Aakash Tablet was earlier named as Sakshat but later it changed into Aakash which means "SKY". This Tablet was designed by a UK company which was working on it from past few months. This tablet mostly hit the market in the month of November. It's cost in retail stores is around Rs.2250 ($60) per unit. It is just Rs.1750 ($35) for students. It runs on Android 2.2 version.

This device is going to be very useful for the students as it is cheap so that anybody can buy it easily and it has various applications so that students can read or write notes, watch videos, create pdf files, create power point files etc etc . From the point of view of the students this is very useful device for them in this modern era.

When the students get this news that Aakash Tablet has launched, then it is found that the students stopped buying iPads, Samsung Galaxy Tabs etc. etc.

1. Start any application, say Word. Open some large documents.

2. Press CTRL+SHIFT+ESC to open Windows Task Manager and click Processes tab and sort the list in descending order on Mem Usage. You will notice that WINWORD.EXE will be somewhere at the top, using multiple MBs of memory.

3. Now switch to Word and simply minimize it. (Don’t use the Minimize All Windows option of the task bar).

4. Now go back to the Windows Task Manager and see where WINWORD.EXE is listed. Most probably you will not find it at the top. You will typically have to scroll to the bottom of the list to find Word. Now check out the amount of RAM it is using. Surprised? The memory utilization has reduced by a huge amount.

Random access memory, or RAM as it is popularly known is one of the most internal parts of a computer system. RAM is mostly used in computers, but even devices like printers, mobile phones etc. etc use RAM. It is a volatile in nature and involves continuous exchange of data. Data that needs to be processed and utilized quickly is stored in the RAM modules. With respect to computers, the first RAM modules were introduced in the 1950′s and have evolved to possess much greater capacities over the years. There are various types of RAM modules like SDRAM, DDR SDRAM, DDR2 RAM and the newest, DDR3 SDRAM. All of these modules differ with respect to the frequency with which data can be written and accessed. Needless to say, their capacities have increased as well. Lets know more about the various types of RAM and understand which is the best of these types of RAM.

DDR3 vs DDR2 vs DDR

SDRAM stands for Single Data Rate Random Access Memory and DDR SDRAM stands for Double Data Rate Synchronous Dynamic Random Access Memory. As the name suggests, DDR was an evolution of SDRAM and allowed higher data transfer rates and at a certain clock frequency had double the data bandwidth of SDRAM. Furthermore, newer evolutions of RAM modules operated at lower voltages and were thus more power efficient. Like most such components, RAM modules are not backward or forward compatible.

SDRAM was available in clock frequencies ranging from 66-133Mhz, DDR SDRAM was available in frequencies ranging from 100-200Mhz and operated at 2.5v, DDR2 SDRAM is available in frequencies ranging from 200-533MHz, operates at 1.8v and DDR3 SDRAM is available in frequencies ranging from 400-1066MHz and operates at 1.6v.

Along with these classifications, RAM modules are available in low and high density types. Not all motherboards support high density RAM modules, most support low density RAM modules. Contrary to what the name suggests, “high density” RAM modules do not provide any performance gains, and in fact might perform worse on most motherboards that support only low density RAM modules. For example, a 1GB low and high density RAM module consists of 8 chips of 512Mb on each side for a total of 16 chips. These are arranged in the form of (512Mb x 16)/8 bits which gives 1024Mb or 1GB. In low density modules, each chip is organized with 64M bits with a data width of 8 bits, this is commonly expressed as 64M x 8 configuration. In high density modules, the same arrangement is seen, but each chip is organized with 128M bits with a data width of 4 bits.It is expressed as 128M x 4 configuration and is called high density.

RAM modules are in the form of DIMM’s or dual inline memory modules. It is a series of integrated memory circuits on a printed circuit board. These circuit boards with the memory IC’s are collectively called RAM sticks. Every iteration of RAM modules ranging from SDRAM to DDR3 SDRAM are connected to motherboard DIMM slots and are recognized by different number of pins on one end. For example, DDR and DDR2 SDRAM are available in 200-pin DIMM configurations and DDR3 SDRAM is available in 240-pin DIMM configuration. For smaller devices like laptop computers, mini ATX computers, high end printers and networking devices, RAM modules are available in SO-DIMM type. SO-DIMM stands for small outline dual in-line memory module. Similar to usual DIMM’s, SO-DIMM’s also come with different pin configurations.

As of now, the main two types of RAM available in the market are DDR2 SDRAM and DDR3 SDRAM. So if you’re out to build a new PC or even upgrade your current PC, what should you go for? It basically depends on what you really want. If you need to run the latest games at the very highest details and resolutions and don’t want to compromise, no doubt DDR3 SDRAM is the one you should go for. For most daily tasks DDR2 SDRAM is more than enough for now. Now, the issue here is that even if you have decided to upgrade to DDR3 SDRAM, you’re going to need to upgrade your motherboard as well. Only AMD motherboards with AM3 slots and Intel motherboards with LGA 1156 or LGA 1366 support DDR3 SDRAM. So if you’re looking to simply upgrade memory, we’re afraid you’ll have to spend on lot more than just the RAM sticks. Frankly speaking, at the moment there are very very less programs that actually require high memory bandwidth. Even highly system intensive PC games show a gain in performance in the region of hardly 2-3%. That sort of performance gain is not worth spending too much money on to upgrade, just to jump on the DDR3 bandwagon. However, newer PC’s come equipped with DDR3 SDRAM and if you’re looking to buy a new PC, you must go for DDR3 SDRAM. The good news is that the prices of DDR2 and DDR3 RAM sticks are very similar, it’s only the other components that might cost you.

In th last I suggest, if you’re buying a new computer, make sure the memory is DDR3 SDRAM. If you’re looking to just upgrade, hang on to good ol’ DDR2 SDRAM for now. But always remember, if you’re going to buy over 3GB of RAM, you must have a 64-bit operating system to actually make use of it!

1. Instead of watching the parade on TV, get your society to hire a big screen. Watch the parade like an IPL final. Get some treats. Give flags to all the kids, and watch the soldiers pound the Rajpath. I can guarantee monster goosebumps.

2. Ride a horse. Get off your cars and bikes, and live true horsepower. Get on the back of an old unemployed filly and relive a bit of royalty on hooves. I am sure you won’t be able to gallop. 3. Invent a patriotic dish. Give it the finest name possible. Buy from theRepublicofChicken. Or do something that needs a handful of saffron. Ouch. Don’t do the tricolour rigmarole pudding. It’s too cliched. Make the Dal of Thunder, The Saffron Inquisition, or the Great Onion of Panipat.

4. Step out of home, and go and meet your neighbourhood fauji. Remember them. Those gallant valiant men with moustaches curled. Also do shake hands with the neighbourhood cops. They might expect a rolled up currency note. Instead, wish them a great day.

5. Fight for the flag-raising event. Let a younger member raise the flag. Why do we depend on brash old men? The nation belongs to the little ones. Instill nationalism early in their lives. They will never forget. They will be grateful. Jai Hind!

6. Add a flourish of Indianess to the Armani ensemble you wear everyday. Applies to both originals and fakes. Or offset the affected kurta you will stuff yourself into on Republic Day. Basically, try a new thing, and wear a Gandhi cap. You could wear it on your monkey cap if you are a devout Bangla. But there’s something earthy that happens when you switch to khadi. Gurkha cap also doesn’t work for me.

7. I think we should make an effort to commercialize the day. Why waste a full day sitting at home? Imagine the plight of the millions people who eke out their living on a daily basis. For them, it’s a forced holiday. Maybe we should take the lead and get the great T-shirt sale going. Or we should begin a series of Republic Day picnics; initiate a nationwide drive to buy a compulsory flag for all homes, or do something else that will go to annually fund war widows or something as noble.

8. How come there’s no tradition connected to this day? Barring that really long speech the society elder will deliver. In which he will talk more about himself, his childhood, how Nehru almost shook his hand, and how he braved British boots. Maybe we should all speak in Hindi that day. Maybe we should only eat Indian food. Maybe we should have a fireworks show where the whole city is invited. Or maybe we will have a citizen’s parade in the city stadium.

What is Republic Day and Why Do We Celebrate Republic Day?

Today we are celebrating our 63rd Republic Day.

The Republic Day is celebrated as on this day, 26thJanuary, 1950 India’s constitution came into force and India became a truly Sovereign, Democratic and Republic state.

India became independent on 15th August 1947 but it did not have a permanent constitution. So the Drafting Committee was appointed on 28th August 1947 to draft a permanent constitution. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar was the chairman of the committee. It took 2 years, 166 days, 11 months and 18 days to complete the constitution.

It is celebrated every year on 26th January throughout India. A grand parade is held every year in the capital, New Delhi from Raisina Hill near the Rashtrapati Bhavan or President’s House, along the Rajpath, past India Gate and on to the historic Red Fort at Rajpath. It includes massive parades; march past of the three armed forces and folk dances by tribal folk from different states. The President award medals of bravery to the armed forces for their courage. All government buildings are lightened on this day. There is a national holiday on this day and the parade is telecasted on National Television all over India.

You can visit the Twitter mobile website by visiting mobile.twitter.com (with or without GPRS subscription) and then follow a simple sign up process. You can have an access just by entering your mobile number and then start using.

The users will have to create a new account on Twitter on SMS for which you have SMS with a type of ‘START’ and then send it to 53000, and on receiving reply you need to SMS ‘SIGNUP’ and send it to 53000. After that you have to type a username which should be less than 15 characters and then send that to 53000.

You will be getting a confirmation message when Twitter approves your username and you will know through a feedback by Twitter as prompting you to SMS a chosen password to 53000. Your Twitter account will be created on the completion of this process and after that you can Sign up for the tweets.

When Google Plus was released, we saw the numbers, which showed that after USA, it was India that added to the most of the population on Google’s social networking platform. And now with Facebook, Indian users once again show how facebook have become part of their lives in just about two years. Indian userbase on facebook have grown from a few millions to 31 millions as of August 2011 and has become the fastest growing country on facebook, also making it the third largest user community on facebook, only next to USA and Indonesia.

The credit goes to an IT educated youth crowd (which forms major part of the population) and rapid internet penetration, especially with the advent of mobile internet.

Huge traffic is a relative term. When I say huge traffic, I mean, in the order of thousands per day. A unique visitor count of 2000 per day sounds good. And I’m talking about those blogs that are struggling out there to get to that point where they want to reach.

Is it really possible for a new blog to really pull in so much traffic in a day ?

Yes, and a solid one that. Here’s how and why.

Irrespective of your blogs age or popularity, there’s one thing that always matter, stand out and grab people’s attention – content. If you know how to create quality content, then rest of the factors just disappear and you have nothing to worried about!

Everybody Says About "Content Quality" What is it? Lets Know About It First!

You might have heard about the phrase “Content is King”. Originally used by the Google folks, this phrase has been embraced by the web. In my opinion, it’s a misleading one.

Because, people rephrase “content” for their own comfort. But there is something that is agreeable to everyone as quality content. Or rather, let’s say there are some agreeable common qualities that you can spot in quality content across the web.

What are they ? Well, in short, content that is –

1) Unique in perspective
2) Rich with information from research
3) Is designed to be easily comprehensible and

First off all, the new digg has lost its charm, however it works but not to that point to which the old Digg did. Not to the extent of saying that it can single handedly bring you thousands of visits, which was in fact actually possible with the old digg, but trying to say that it can still help.

The fact is that, everybody is trying to get traffic out of digg, so you have to be extremely clever or you end up being just a spam, who’s trying to make it big. Now, you don’t want that, do you ?

The Digg community is the jury of the internet. These people can, at the first look at a title figure out if your blog article is spam or not. The articles has to be convincing enough to the community in order to get voted up.

That doesn't mean that if you have a great article, your article straight goes up the chart on Digg – No. There are several power diggers in the community who can help push your article up the voting list – if your article is good that is.

Tough one that. Actually not. But not easy for everyone. Getting huge traffic from Twitter is not difficult but it is easy.

The thing about Twitter is that, you have to have a huge network of friends. Or, you have to have a decent network with very high influential Twitter users. You have to increase your followers by spending a lot of time on twitter. Either way, you have to connect with influential Twitter folks.

Who are those influential guys on Twitter ? People with lot of followers, people who get retweeted much, people who has the credibility of getting clicks on their links tweeted.

If your article is good enough, first off ask a few people their opinion about it. Especially those Twitter users who tweet a lot of links and are influential. They might be able to give you insights about the “popularity quotient” of your article. Whether the article is actually shareable or not. With their suggestion, you might want to tweak the title/content of your article so that its all ready to go.

But the core idea is again to design content that is Twitter friendly and shareable.

Once you have the right content, its just a matter of using the right channel to promote it and leverage on the corresponding traffic from that channel. Its easier said than done, but the important factor is that each social media channel has its own way of working and its on audience. As a content developer, what you have to do first is find out what those tastes are and how you can use it for your blog.

So there.. I said it, think of you as a content developer more than anything, not a promoter or a marketer. Because, these days, everyone is. Make a difference.

I Always wondered over how some people do it better, what’ve they got that I don’t have, or what do they write that I don’t write ! Later, I found out that its all about how you make people happy and how much you give them. If you’re honest about it, the best of you automatically shows up.

Here are nine such tips I learned about writing articles that could possibly make people love them and share with their friends.

1. Do More Than Usual

Every time you read that article you last re-tweeted, hadn’t you said to yourself – How did he manage to write that much ? Or How did he find all those tools ?
That is exactly what the author want you to feel while reading his post.
Its a guarantee that your article will be shared if you bring in the "more than usual" feel to it.

2. Research Well And Find The Gems That Others Might Have Missed

Doing your homework often helps in the long run. There are two things you can find with good research. One – What others have been doing so far (so that you can avoid repeating it) and Two – What others have missed.
Finding the things that others might have missed listing/mentioning is one way to make sure that you do things better.

3. Bring Value To Your Articles- Tell People How The Information In The Article Help Them

So, what’s the difference between saying "Your mp3 player has a capacity of 100 GB" and saying "Your mp3 player has enough storage to play music when you’re travelling to the moon and back" ?
The second one brings in more value to the user, though technically, both means the same.

4. Try To Not Do The Normal Stuff

Its not easy doing the normal stuff even, so its easy for one to stop right there and say "Phew ! Just managed to make another post". But little do you realize that you just ended up being like another guy and all that you did was wasted.

5. Don't Rest Before You Get The Best Out Of You

Being your own manager always help. I always make it a point to ask my self the question "So what ?" soon after writing a post (that I want to promote). And if the answer is not compelling enough, I re-work on it and stretch a bit more until I get that "not bad" feeling.

6. Criticize Yourself

Another neat trick is to let yourself be your own critic. The problem with the "me feeling" is that you end up doing compromises and let all the bad things go by, while only seeing the good things. Being optimistic is fine but sometimes we all go that extra bit and "assume" that everyone would be as optimistic as you. Not all the times is this true. So be your own critic and make the harshest arguments on your own article, before you give the chance to someone else.

7. Review With A Friend Before Sharing To The World

This might not be possible with all stories that you publish but if you have a friend who’s understanding then the best way is to ask him his opinion on the story, or the title, whichever you wish to share with him. If he’s excited go ahead and share the story to the world, they’d be equally excited. But if its luke-warm response, you might want to go back and re-work on the article until you get him excited.

8. Give Your Readers A Chance to Identify With The Idea In Your Article, Ask Readers To Tell Their Views Regarding Article By Posting Comments

The one good reason I can think of why I would share an article is when i get the feeling that its written for me, or is closely related to me. Even if its a news item, if i can see that it affects me, I’ll most probably shout it out. Try to being in the same idea to your blog articles. If all of your readers feel that its "personal" to them, you’ve most probably done a good job.

9. See Things Or Articles From Readers' Perspective

This is an excellent strategy – if it can be called one. It helps you answer questions like "Why the hell am I writing this article in the first place ?".
I strongly believe that you have to be a good listener to be an interesting speaker. If you don’t know (or don’t have the slightest clue) what goes through your reader’s mind while reading your article, then you better don’t do it until you learn it.

10. Post Rich Content Articles

The other good thing is to post the articles that attracts readers cause them to read that article even they don't want to read that thing. The more rich and good stuff you write more readers will attract towards reading your blog.

Google Launches an AdSense Toolbar for Chrome

Google today released a new extension for Google Chrome that will help you quickly access your AdSense earning reports without leaving the page you are currently reading.

Google AdSense Publisher Toolbar for Chrome

The extension, known as the AdSense Publisher Toolbar, offers a summary of your AdSense earnings for the current day, the previous day, the current month and the previous month. In addition to daily earnings data, it also show revenue data for top channels that you have created in your AdSense account.

There’s an interesting “lifetime revenue” section in the report that shows your total AdSense earnings from the day your account was approved for AdSense.

Once you install the extension, it connects to your Google AdSense account using OAuth and then uses AdSense APIs to fetch your earnings data. You need to authorize only once and thus, if you enjoy checking your AdSense report every hour, this extension could save you plenty of time.

I have multiple Google Accounts (for security reasons) and my AdSense account uses an email address that is different from my primary Gmail address. Earlier, I had to log out of Gmail to check my AdSense reports but with the AdSense Publisher Toolbar now available, I can get my basic earnings data without having to switch accounts.

On a different note, I have no idea why the Google team is calling this extensions the AdSense Publisher Toolbar when it only adds a button near your Chrome address bar and there are no toolbars anywhere. You click the AdSense button and your earnings report are almost instantly display in an overlay.

And if you activate the AdSense extension while you are on your website (that is running AdSense ads), you can turn on the "site overlay" mode and it will display a quick summary of each ad unit’s earnings that are available on that page. Channel names are confusing, especially when you have tons of them, so this visual mode will come very handy.

Buy A Google Ready Computer In Just $200

This $200 PC is not an official Google product but close - it comes pre-installed with desktop icons that link to the websites of Google Docs, Gmail, Blogger, Google Maps, and YouTube (see ).

Sounds a bit surprising but NYT also says that "gOS Linux is specially made to run Google applications like GMail and Google Documents". And this Google friendly computer is called "gPC" and runs on "gOS", a variant of Ubuntu Linux, but the "g" here stands for "Green" and not "Google."

Now Access Facebook on any Mobile Without the Internet

Do you have an old mobile phone, like the Nokia 1100, that has no browser and can do little more than make phone calls? Or are you stuck in some remote place where there’s no Internet or no other form of data (EGDE/GPRS/3G) connectivity is available?

Not a problem. You can still use your Facebook account in India by dialing *325# (or *fbk#) from your mobile phone – this service requires no data plan or Internet and it will even work on phones of the Stone Age. Here’s a quick tour:

Use Facebook without the Data Plan

Facebook India has partnered with Fonetwish to bring Facebook on every mobile phone without requiring any apps or even the Internet.

You dial the *325# number, then enter your Facebook username and password and you are in. You can then send number based commands to access various features of Facebook, chat with friends who are online, add new people to your friends list, and more.

I played with the service for some time and it was a nice experience overall. If there were a Unix-like shell interface for Facebook, it would be much similar. Fonetwish says that this service is currently available for Airtel, Aircel, Idea and Tata Docomo users in India.

It may be too much work to read your Facebook news feed stories one by one but this is a good option to quickly update your Facebook status or for chatting with friends who are online. The price is reasonable too – you just have pay a subscription fee of 1.00 per day for unlimited usage.

1. You Compare Yourself to Others Too Much

There’s nothing wrong with using successful people and their stories for inspiration. After all, everyone needs someone to look up to when learning.

However, many of you just get carried away. How long it took blogger ABC to reach X amount of visitors or make X amount of money has absolutely no relevance to your individual situation.

There are just too many variables involved when it comes to building traffic and making money so it’s impossible to compare.

And if you discover you are behind the pace of someone who is successful, it’s like getting a one-way ticket to Discourage-ville. Don’t put yourself through that mental exhaustion because it doesn’t even matter.

Who cares if it takes you six months longer to make money than someone you admire. As long as you are learning, growing and having a great time, enjoy the ride!

Don't lose hope just do hard work you will definitely reach the TOP.

2. You’re Surrounded by Negativity

It always angers or something hurt me when I read such comments like “You can’t make any worthwhile money online.”

Seriously?

I often wonder where these people are hanging out online and who they’re subscribing to? If you’re following the right people, it’s not hard to find successful, small business/affiliate websites online. I am not joking see and take or read my words seriously.

A lot of people who are struggling get their information from others who are failing (or have failed). Negative people like to surround themselves with like-minded people because they validate their beliefs.

If you want success, surround yourself by more successful, positive people and get out of that sea of negativity.

That’s one reason I started reading magzines of both successful persons or the worst persons to know the mistakes done by them. I just love reading the stories there.

Also, if you’re just starting out, be careful who you share your dreams with. A lot of people still don’t understand this “internet thing” and it’s easy for them to chalk it up to “playing around” or “wasting time online.”

I’ve met so many people who have let their families and friends discourage them achieving their website goals. It doesn’t matter what other people think. You know what’s possible out here and that’s all that matters.

Stay focused and keep your eye on the prize!

3. You Don’t Network

Networking is a must, especially because search engine optimization is becoming more personalized and all about who has you in their social circles, who’s following you, “liking” your content, etc.

I haven’t spent a lot of time on specific social media strategies, but if I were starting today and looking for a way to build my exposure online, this would be one of the first things I’d tackle.

Even though there are negative sides to social media that still bug me (it creates distractions, narcissism, etc.) it’s become so big, you can’t ignore it. Not to mention, it’s free to use!

Take a lesson from bloggers Ileane Smith, Brankica Underwood etc.

4. You’re in the Wrong Niche

This can be a painful realization — especially if you’ve worked very hard on your site for a long time.

However, if it’s always a struggle for you to come up with new content and be creative, that could be because you aren’t as interested in your niche as you thought you were.

That’s OK. It happens to a lot of people. I went through several sites before I came up with MultiPlusTricks

There’s no rule that says you have to do this right the first time. If there was, I’d be long gone. So don’t be ashamed if you have to try something new.

Remind yourself that you’re human and it’s all part of the process. Rome wasn’t built in a day.

5. You are Disconnected From Your Readers

Polling my subscribers was one of the best strategies I’ve ever implemented.

It’s so easy to get caught up in what you THINK people want to read, but unless you ask, you can never really be too sure.

How To Shorten URL For Redirecting & Tracking Affiliate Links

We all have probably noticed the short and pretty links on different blogs and Twitter by now. Perhaps we’re unsure of which one we should use, or if it makes any difference.

But it does.

The main reasons people use URL shorteners are to make very long affiliate links shorter and prettier or to track clicks on the links, or both.

So here is a break down of the shorteners I am using and the reasoning behind it.

1.Clicky.me

This shortener is connected to Clicky Web Analytics and we must have an account with them to use it. We can register for it for free, and we can even use the Web Analytics feature for free for one site. It is a great service and I highly recommend it.

Clicky.me isn’t as busy as others so there is still chance you can get some really pretty links.

This shortener has a tracking feature so you can see how many clicks each link received. Also, you can use it to shorten Clickbank linkswhich is a big advantage over some other shorteners (more on that below).

2.Su.pr

This shortener is a part of StumbleUpon and we must have an account with them to use it. Registering an account is free.

There are some great features we can use with Su.pr:

we can just shorten the URL
we can write a tweet or a Facebook update with the shortened URL and send it out
we can schedule the tweet or the update for a later time

The absolute winning feature of this shortener — when someone clicks on an URL shortened with Su.pr, at the top of the screen they will have a StumbleUpon toolbar which increases the chance of the page being “Liked” on Stumble and going viral.

This shortener has a tracking feature and we can use it to shorten Clickbank links.

3.Bit.ly

Bit.ly or Bitly.com is probably the most popular and used shortener out there. We can use it without registering or logging in, but if we want to have the history of clicks and links we should create an account.

We can customize our URLs but since it is so popular we will have to be very creative to get a name that hasn’t been taken yet.

This shortener does have a tracking feature but don’t use it to shorten Clickbank links because people who click on the shortened version of the URL will get a big warning (and we probably won’t make a sale):

4.Goo.gl

Goo.gl is Google’s URL shortener and wedo not need to sign into your Google account to use it. However, if wewant to build our URL history (which we should), then sign in before we shorten our URLs.

This shortener does have a tracking feature but don’t use it to shorten Clickbank links because the URL will be disabled:

Other Options to Consider

Ow.ly is a shortener from HootSuite. We can use Hootsuite for free and they have a tracking feature for Ow.ly links.

Tiny.url or Tinyurl.com is a free shortener that we don’t register for. It doesn’t have tracking feature but it will let us customize the short version of URL if the “custom alias” hasn’t been taken by someone else.

Conclusion

Like it or not, you are probably going to end up using shorteners even if you don’t want to, for example when you tweet using HootSuite or some other management tool. So you might as well pick one shortener and use it all the time to track clicks on your links.

Another benefit is that they help you memorize some of your custom affiliate links, like I can do with my Clicky.me

If you haven’t paid much attention to this before, the start of the new year is the perfect time to give these shorteners a try and start making your links look pretty and track your marketing efforts.

We’re all aware by now that WordPress is the easiest way to build a website, but I was wondering how many of you actually make good money? And when I say “good money” I mean enough to enhance your existing lifestyle. I’m not talking about a dollar or two from AdSense per day.
I was at a social media event in Atlanta today and I was talking to all these WordPress users. Some had impressive followings on Twitter, Facebook, even Google+.
For some reason I just assumed a lot of these people did this for a living. As the night went on, I began to learn that very few of them made a lot of money. I don’t think I met one person that was full-time online or even close. And they said it was their goal.
So I’d like to know from the bloggers here, how many of you actually make good money? Yes, WordPress is too cool for school (as the old saying goes), but if your goal is to make money from your site and you’re not making much, what do you attribute that to?

Of course, we know that people make money with blogs. However, I also receive many e-mails from people who struggle with the monetization part of blogging.

Obviously, the number one problem is lack of traffic. However, there are blogs that receive decent amounts of traffic, yet the owners still have trouble converting sales for numerous reasons.

I love getting feedback from you, so I want to open up a discussion with people on both sides of the fence.
