Dell announced today that the Mini 10 will be getting GPS and Wi-Fi positioning. The GPS chip along with the Wi-Fi will be used to calculate your position. The Mini 10 will be the first system to offer the GPS built-in. The initial release will support Windows XP and Vista with support for Windows 7 coming soon.

I’m excited that GPS will be an option now. More and more services are going location aware and a netbook being an extension to your smartphone makes sense for it to have the same capabilities. Hopefully people can get it working under OS X when it comes out. Then I’ll be all over buying one.

Microsoft has released some Apple Style guided tours for Windows 7. It’s a great way for consumers to see the new features in action. Not everyone downloads the betas or searches the Internet for the new features.

Boxee has released a version for Windows. The biggest news is probably their partnership with MLB.TV. You can now stream MLB.TV content through Boxee. You have to have the subscription but it will put a really nice interface to the online content. They also added Digg and Tumblr to their content sources. They made a nice move with going with MLB.TV but it’s still a subscription service. I’m sure they are trying with other major content providers but I’m worried after the MLB.TV subscriptions they might only be able to pull out deals with other subscription services. The video below is with TechVi, Ben Drawbaugh and Dave Zatz. They talk about the future of Boxee and their opinions on other content providers. I like listening to those guys talk tech.

You can choose from many different widgets like weather and sports scores. You can manage your widgets online. I was surprised by the number of widgets already on there. You can even get a Twitter widget if you want. Any new services should launch with twitter capabilities, right?

The Popcorn Hour C-200 is official now. But not available yet. I’m on the sign up list to be notified when it’s available. I wish they would send me one to at least play with. My last videos I did of the original Popcorn Hour A-100 had almost 100,000 views on YouTube. That should at least get me a demo yet, right? The C-200 is priced at $299. Not terrible since you can just add a Blu-Ray drive to it. The video above is just the unboxing, no UI shots. I’ll notify everyone when I hear it’s available. My guess is there will probably be another wait list of a couple months.

Pure Creative, Kodak, Sony, FlipHD compared on features. I wish they would have shown sample videos from each camera. I currently have the Kodak Zi6 and it has been great. It has the 60fps and 30fps option like the video says. It also has a macro switch for closeup shots of whatever I want. That macro switch is important if you plan on recording computers screens which I couldn’t accomplish with the original flip. With the compressed HD on all of them it probably comes down to features as the one you pick.
