A New Agreement with God written by Krish Fernandez

The Nature of God

As disciples, it is important for us to understand the heart and nature of God. God from the very beginning of creation has always been gracious and merciful.

When we read stories in the bible about the great flood that destroyed everything and the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah by fire we are often mistaken to believe that we serve a God of judgement.

Let me take the time to show you how the God we serve is really very gracious and merciful.

Before God came to judge Sodom and Gomorrah we read about how He met Abraham, His friend. How beautiful the thought that God is interested in spending time with us and talking to us like a friend.

Before God went to judge the two nations He said: “Shall I hide from Abraham what I am doing, since Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him? (Genesis 18:17-18)

The above verse reveals to us the heart of God. The God we serve does not take pleasure in judgement. Although He has to judge sometimes, He does not enjoy it.

If God really wanted to judge the two cities, He did not have to stop and talk to Abraham about it. In fact God wanted Abraham to intercede for Sodom and Gomorrah and save them.

I think it was John Wesley who said: God will do nothing on earth except in answer to believing prayer.” It is a bible truth, that God will not do anything in the earth unless a man prays and believes. He always works through man. I believe, that Abraham through his intercession could have stopped the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah.

As the story goes Abraham did intercede for Sodom and Gomorrah. He began his intercession with: Suppose there were fifty righteous within the city; would You also destroy the place and not spare it for the fifty righteous that were in it? (Genesis 18:24) and ended his intercession with: Suppose ten should be found there? (Genesis 18:32) Sadly, Abraham stopped at ten. If Abraham interceded all the way down to one, the two cities could have been saved because there was one righteous man in the area, Abraham's nephew Lot. (2 Peter 2:7)

This is the true Nature of God:

The Lord is merciful and gracious,
Slow to anger, and abounding in mercy.
He will not always strive with us,
Nor will He keep His anger forever.
He has not dealt with us according to our sins,
Nor punished us according to our iniquities.
For as the heavens are high above the earth,
So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him;
As far as the east is from the west,
So far has He removed our transgressions from us. (Psalms 103:8-12)

It is important we realize that God is not like man. He is merciful, gracious and slow to anger. Hallelujah.

The Law

In the bible, there is a period of 1500 years where God was forced to become a God of judgement. I say God was forced because, it was man in his arrogance and pride who accepted an agreement with God that left God with no other choice but exercising judgement.

The children of Israel said: “All that the Lord has spoken we will do.” (Exodus 19:8)

This statement was the beginning of Israel's downfall. We should never approach God with this attitude. In simple words Israel was saying: Lord, let me earn your blessing from this day forth based on what I do.

After this, the Lord spoke to Israel through a thick cloud and gave them the 10 commandments. (Exodus 20:1-17)

The people responded by saying to Moses: “You speak with us, and we will hear; but let not God speak with us, lest we die.” (Exodus 20:19)

I believe that this was not the will of God but the choice of man. God always wanted to speak to man directly. But God also treats man with dignity and respects his decisions. After receiving the 10 commandments, the children of Israel felt that they could now do it and earn the blessings of God by their performance. They saw no need to continue hearing the voice of the Lord.

From, this point on in the bible, we begin to see God as a God of judgement and wrath. People begin to die for every little sin and mistake they make. When disciples in Christ do not understand that this was an agreement that man accepted, they begin to feel like the God they serve is a God of judgement and wrath.

The truth is that the 10 commandments were never given to man for him to keep and through it be blessed by God. Even if you take the most decent and moral man in the world and give him the ten commandments to keep, he too will fall short to keep it perfectly.

The law has one and only one purpose: to bring you to your knees and make you cry out for a Savior. It will literally bring you a point where you will realize that I cannot be blessed by God apart from His mercy and grace.

What shall we say then? Is the law sin? Certainly not! On the contrary, I would not have known sin except through the law. For I would not have known covetousness unless the law had said, “You shall not covet.” (Romans 7:7)

Everyone who goes through the law realizes at some point or another that he has fallen short of its perfection. Most people even if they have kept everything else will fall short at "You shall not covet", because covetousness of the heart. There is nobody who can claim that they have never had a strong desire in their heart for something evil. You may have never committed adultery, but you may have coveted it. You may have have never murdered, but you may have had the strong desire to do it when you got angry with someone.

For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all. (James 2:10)

The 10 commandments demands perfection and nothing less. If you stumble even in one point, you are guilty of all and worthy of the judgement and wrath of God.

A new agreement

For if that first covenant had been faultless, then no place would have been sought for a second. Because finding fault with them, He says: “Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah— not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they did not continue in My covenant, and I disregarded them, says the Lord. (Hebrews 8:7-9)

The Good News is that the Lord found fault with the first covenant or agreement. The first covenant spoken of here is the covenant the Lord made with Israel in the day when He took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt. It is the covenant of law or the 10 commandments. Some people think that I am the one who found fault with the old agreement. The truth is that it is the Lord who found fault with it. Hallelujah.

The Lord found fault with the first agreement because it was based entirely on man's performance. The Lord was not able to bless His people because they were unable to keep the law. God did not like this arrangement because it limited His blessings. Therefore, He has made a new covenant in and through Jesus Christ that is not based on our performance but entirely on His grace and mercy.

For the Lord is good and His mercy endures forever.

When you are getting into an agreement with anybody in this world, you always read the terms carefully. I exhort you to read and understand the terms of our new agreement with God with the same spirit.

For this is the covenant that I WILL make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I WILL put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I WILL be their God, and they shall be My people. None of them shall teach his neighbor, and none his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them. For I WILL be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I WILL remember no more.” (Hebrews 8:10-12)

It amazing how the new agreement does not have the words "YOU SHALL" and "YOU SHALL NOT". It is full of "I WILL" and "I WILL". In the new agreement, the blessing of God are not dependent on what you do but what Jesus did for you on the Cross of Calvary. Hallelujah.

In the new agreement, the Lord blesses you not because you deserve it but because of His grace and mercy.

Renewed minds and transformed hearts

Whenever a message like this is taught a question that arises is 'If God no longer relates to us based on what we do, does that mean we can live riotously and licentiously?'

My response is the same as Paul in the Book of Romans: Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in NEWNESS of life. (Romans 6:2-4)

If you read the agreement carefully, God has made provision for NEWNESS of life. When we believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord writes His law on our hearts and begins to put them in our minds.

The new covenant has dangerous side-effects. The more you hear about what Jesus Christ has done for you in and through the Cross and understand who you are in Christ, the more you will walk in NEWNESS of life. I say, it is dangerous because it took a sinner like me at the age of 19 and made me a bible teacher and writer. I do not say the transformation was instant, but the more the Lord puts in your mind, the more you will experience NEWNESS of life. I live holier now by accident than I ever did on purpose. The love of Christ constraints me. (2 Corinthians 5:14)

For the GRACE of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, TEACHING us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for GOOD WORKS. (Titus 2:11-14)

As a church leader we are not to teach the disciples of Jesus to deny ungodliness and worldly lust but teach them about the GRACE of God. It is the GRACE of God that teaches the disciples of Jesus to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts. It is the grace of God that causes them to REIGN in life.

I will be their God

In the new agreement the Lord said: I will be their God, and they shall be My people. This is a very powerful statement. When God says He will be our God, He is saying that He will be everything that we need and much more. He will be our healer, provider, deliverer, father, protector, refuge, strength, counselor, teacher and a ever-present help in times of trouble. When He call us His people, He is saying that we are His beloved priced possession.

When the Lord told Pharaoh: “Let My people go, that they may serve Me. (Exodus 8:1), He was declaring that He was for Israel and would even fight for them if He had to.

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31)

They shall all know me

In the new agreement, the Lord says we shall all know Him from the least of us to the greatest. The Lord is declaring that all believers in Christ can experience God in a very personal way. The Lord will teach us all through His Holy Spirit. It does not matter if you are the least, like me or the greatest like the Pope. We shall all know and experience Him intimately. In the new agreement there are no super saints. We can all walk in the FULLNESS of Christ on earth.

He remember our sins no more

The agreement ends with: For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.” Hallelujah.

If you ever thought that when you get to heaven, God is going play your entire life with all its mistakes on an LCD screen for you to see, you are absolutely mistaken. God has already destroyed all records of all your mistakes, failures and sins, past, present and future.

Beloved, the devil may remind you of your sins; your parents, relatives and friends may remind you of your sins; But the GOOD NEWS is that God will never ever ever ever remind you because He remembers them no more. In His eyes you are PERFECTED forever. (Hebrews 10:14)

For the Lord is good and His mercy endures forever.

How many of you pray in tongues? In a church where we’re blessed to have one of the best teachers of the Word in our Senior Pastor, Pastor Prince, we’re very well taught on the benefits and blessings of praying in the Holy Spirit. We know that praying in tongues is an evidence of the Holy Spirit’s indwelling within us (Acts 2:4);, we understand that it is the rest and the refreshing (Isaiah 28:12) for believers today. Now, I want to share a message from the Lord about another aspect of this spiritual gift with you today!

Sons Pray in the Spirit

You know, my father spoke Teochew (a Chinese dialect) to me when I was young, so it was natural for me to speak Teochew from an early age. In the same way that sons can’t help but speak the language of their earthly fathers, sons of God cannot help but speak the language of their heavenly Father! The Lord shared with me that praying in the Spirit is the language of divine sonship, where we as sons of God communicate with our heavenly Father! The prayer in the Spirit is His language, so it is natural for you to speak in tongues! The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 14 that when you speak in tongues, you speak to God.

1 Corinthians 14:2
“For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries.

You can’t be speaking to man – man can neither understand nor reply you. That’s why it’s called a “groaning that cannot be uttered”! (Romans 8:26) But when you pray in tongues, you are on the wavelength of Daddy God! Years ago, the Lord spoke to me and said that, “When people are speaking in tongues, it is like taking a paintbrush, painting on the canvases of their future.” I believe every time you speak in tongues, you are painting your destiny.

Not only will you paint your future, I believe you will become more aware of what God has for you. It’s like how when I speak in English, and not Teochew, to my sons, they learn and know my language, and because we are on the same wavelength, I can tell them what I have prepared for them, and what I will give to them. That’s what happens when you begin to pray in tongues. You begin to start actively and consciously receiving the inheritance that Daddy God has for you. Amen!

Building You Up—Spirit, Soul and Body

There is a message by Pastor Prince that I tell all the leaders to listen to and to walk in. The title of that message is “Two Keys to Being Mighty In the Kingdom of God” . The first key is to meditate on the Word of God and the second is to pray in tongues. Every ministry that I know of, that operates in the gifts of the Spirit with documented instances of the dead being raised, have ministers who devote a lot of their time to praying in tongues. What is the link here?

1 Corinthians 14:3–4 says “He who prophesies speaks edification, exhortation and comfort to men. But he who speaks in a tongue edifies himself…”

Now, when you pray in tongues, the phrase “edifies himself” means you are able to “build yourself”. The Greek meaning for “edify” means “building” in the same way you build a house. That’s our body, because we are the temple of the Holy Spirit! So when you pray in tongues, you are building—you are building your physical body. This is true fitness!

When you pray in the spirit, you also build your spiritual muscles, your sensitivity towards God. You begin to hear God better and clearer because you are tuning up that receiver to hear from heaven.

Praying in tongues also builds your soul. Having been in the youth ministry for so many years, we see young people go through problems with how they feel. That’s why many young people call themselves or their friends “emo”. But you know, being “emo” is not cool, because you are being controlled by your emotions. You sometimes can’t help but get into one relationship after another, getting hurt each time, because you are emotionally weak. But that’s not the kind of life that God has designed for you to live. Instead, when you are feeling down, that’s the time to pray in tongues, because then you build yourself. It’s a language of sonship and you are talking to God. When you begin to pray in tongues, you build yourself emotionally as well. You can even build yourself intellectually because “edifies himself” includes everything! Body, soul and spirit!

Bridging The Gap Between Where You Are And Where God Wants You To Be

Romans 8:26

“Likewise, the Spirit also helps us in our weaknesses; for we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.”

While we are looking forward to that day that Jesus come back for us, we are still on this earth facing challenges. And sometimes, we can get discouraged when we look at our weaknesses. But the Lord is saying to you right now that you don’t have to be discouraged because the Spirit will help you in your weaknesses. Jesus went to heaven so that the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, may come upon all of you to help you. How does He help us? The Bible says when we do not know what we should pray for, the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Praying in the Spirit is a powerful gift.

You know, some of the leaders once asked me, “Pastor, how did you start preaching?” My first sermon was 12 years ago, at what was then the PUB auditorium. I went up to the pulpit. I froze for 15 minutes. After which, I read a few scriptures and ran down the stage, and I never wanted to go up again. I didn’t start off knowing how to preach. But I remembered one thing I learnt to do when I was very, very young. I learnt to “walk the floor”. I walked the floor of my bedroom, praying in tongues, building myself up because I saw weakness in me—and you know, that really can put someone in despair—but I began to build myself. I began to do so, when I started to understand that the call of God is upon my life. It is so precious and powerful.

When we see the big gap between where we should be and where we are right now, oh man! It puts us in desperation. But I believe the years of praying in the Holy Ghost resulted in the preacher that I am today. I was weak in this area. I am not someone who likes this kind of stage or platform. But if God calls, God equips, and He does it by building you up in your emotions, gifts and your call.

Romans 8:27

“Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.”

So this is what happens when you pray in tongues. The Holy Spirit knows your heart’s desire, and then He matches it with the mind of the Spirit. Do you have a certain desire? The Holy Spirit will pull it out, then He matches it, He makes that connection between your desire and the perfect will of God. That’s what the Holy Spirit does when you pray in tongues, you are bridging the gap, connecting the dots! You are causing the will of God to be known, to be made manifest in your life!

That’s why you can stop asking “What is the will of God for me in my life?” Start praying in the Holy Spirit and then God will move you from the place that you are in—the imperfect will of God—into the perfect will of God! That’s how verse 28 comes.

Romans 8:28

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God and to those who are called according to His purpose.”

The reason why all things will work together for your good is because when you start praying in tongues, you bridge the gap! You begin to live in the promises of God that are in Christ, yes and amen! Every time you pray, God moves in your situation, and He turns all things around. Have you made mistakes lately that you regret? Pray in the spirit, and God will cause all things to work together for your highest good! Do you love God? Then you are called according to His purpose. God will match that purpose when you pray in tongues.

Praying In Your Most Holy Faith, Keeping Yourself in His Love

Jude 1:20-21 says “and you beloved, building yourself up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit.” Pastor Prince has shared with us that love gives, grace supplies, and faith takes. When our faith is weak and you are not able to take what God is supplying, what do you do? You pray in the Spirit because in that way, you are building your most holy faith. Do you realise that every time we pray in tongues whether in worship or before the sermon starts, there is what seems like an open heaven? Just like that, the whole atmosphere changes! This is because you are building your most holy faith every time you pray in tongues! Verse 21 says, “Keep yourself in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.” The way to keep yourself in the love of God is to pray in tongues, and you will cast out every fear.

During and just after a service or a camp, very often you feel the fire, the passion, and the revival. But you go back to your daily routine in life and the fire dies down. Does that mean that your experience was not true? Have you lost that power? No! What you need to do is what Paul told Timothy to do.

2 Timothy 1:6

“For this reason, I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of hands.”

Sometimes when you begin to feel like you are losing your zeal, you don’t feel like coming to church, you don’t feel like fellowshipping. Hey! Start fanning the flame. Start stirring the gift! How? By praying in the Holy Ghost all over again and you will build and stir yourself. You will put fire back in your belly, back in your spirit man! Many times when I am down, I learn to pray in the Holy Spirit. By the time I finish praying in the Holy Spirit, man, I tell you, I walk out of my room feeling power.

You know why the fire dies down? Because fear comes in and overwhelms us, holding us captive at times. But verse 7 says “for God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power, of love and of a sound mind.” When you start praying in the Holy Spirit, you are fanning the flames the fire you once felt. That’s why we need to keep ourselves in our most Holy faith. This is the language connecting you directly to heaven, bringing heaven’s intervention into our every situation. This is the language of the sons of God.

Mary Magdalene Sees the Risen Lord

But Mary stood outside by the tomb weeping, and as she wept she stooped down and looked into the tomb. And she saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain. Then they said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping?”

She said to them, “Because they have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid Him.”
Now when she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, and did not know that it was Jesus. Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?”

She, supposing Him to be the gardener, said to Him, “Sir, if You have carried Him away, tell me where You have laid Him, and I will take Him away.”

Jesus said to her, “Mary!”

She turned and said to Him, “Rabboni!” (which is to say, Teacher). Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.’(John 20:11-17)

One of he first messages that Jesus wanted His disciples to know after His resurrection was:
I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.

Through the resurrection, everything that belongs to Jesus also belong to us in Him. His Father is now our Father.

We are joint heir with Christ and everything that belongs to the Father belongs to us in Christ. (Romans 8:17)

The Righteousness (Right standing with God) that Jesus has with the Father now belong us in Christ.

Isaiah prophesied about the Righteousness that all who believe in Jesus would receive when he said:

“Look to Me, and be saved,
All you ends of the earth!
For I am God, and there is no other. I have sworn by Myself;
The word has gone out of My mouth in righteousness,
And shall not return,
That to Me every knee shall bow,
Every tongue shall take an oath.
He shall say, ‘Surely in the Lord I have righteousness and strength.

Surely in the Lord I have righteousness. Hallelujah.

For all the promises of God in Him (Jesus) are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us. (2 Corinthians 1:20)

There is no promise in the Bible that God will not fulfill for His Son Jesus. Therefore in Christ, God does not withhold any promise from us.

It is your right to live healthy, prosperously, successfully, in peace, in joy and in every blessing of God today not because you deserve it, but because Jesus deserves it and and everything that is His is yours in Him.

Say it aloud - It is my right to live healthy, prosperously, successfully, in peace, in joy and in every blessing of God in Christ!!! Say it up til you believe it and then you will receive it.

I will enter His gates with thanksgiving in my heart;
I will enter His courts with praise.
I will say this is the day that the Lord has made.
I will rejoice for He has made me glad.
He has made me glad, He has made me glad,
I will rejoice for He has made me glad.
He has made me glad, He has made me glad,
I will rejoice for He has made me glad.

What makes Ministry successful?

Acts 6:2-4, NKJV Then the twelve summoned the multitude of the disciples and said, "It is not desirable that we should leave the word of God and serve tables.
Therefore, brethren, seek out from among you seven men of [good] reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business; but we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word."

1) Give yourself continually to prayer (speaking in tongues)
2) Focus on the study of the Word and increasing in the knowledge of Christ
3) Appoint men of [good] reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom for other Ministry work and give them the gift of the Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues...

If you do this..., the RESULT will be

Acts 6:7-8, NKJV Then the word of God spread, and the number of the disciples multiplied greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priests were obedient to the faith.

And Stephen, full of GRACE and power, did great wonders and signs among the people.

Rough notes | Revelation of Jesus

John 6:15-21....Now when evening came, His disciples went down to the sea, got into the boat, and went over the sea toward Capernaum. And it was already dark, and Jesus had not come to them.
Then the sea arose because a great wind was blowing. So when they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus walking on the sea and drawing near the boat; and they were afraid.
But He said to them, "It is I; do not be afraid." Then they willingly received Him into the boat, and immediately the boat was at the land where they were going.

This passage is a powerful story to bring to remembrance when we face the trials of life.
The bible says: the sea arose because a great wind was blowing.
A great wind may be blowing in your life today.
You may be griped with fear and hopelessness.
This is exactly how I imagine the disciples felt.
But then, they saw Jesus.

God says in Isaiah 45:22 " Look to Me, and be saved, All you ends of the earth! For I [am] God, and [there is] no other.

Beloved, look at Jesus.

Ephesians 1:17 may God give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Christ.

Your trials will be rendered powerless when you look at Jesus and get a revelation of Him.

The discples saw Jesus walking on the water.
This tells me that the same trial that you fear is powerless before God.
Jesus walks in peace in the midst of your trial because He is all powerful.

Then Jesus said: Matthew 14:27 Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid.

When we get a revelation of Jesus, it is only reasonable to be of good cheer and not be afraid.

The disciples then willingly received Jesus into the boat.
The Lord Jesus is so beautiful. He is all powerful yet so gentle. He will not force His revelation down you, but will gently teach you and wait for you to willingly (out of your own free will) receive Him.
And when you do, the storm will cease and you will be translated to a good place.
Beloved, God does not want you to endure and go through the storm. He wants the storm to cease!

Look at Jesus. Be of good cheer. Do not be afraid. See what He wants you to see. Believe and willingly receive.
With Jesus in your boat the storm in your life will cease.

The bible says: The kingdom of God is not in word but in power. (1 Corinthians 4:20) This post is not another teaching or doctrine of man. It is about the power of God to transform your life. It is power to bring welfare, prosperity, deliverance, preservation, salvation and safety to your life.

Saint Paul said: For I am not ashamed of the gospel (Good News) of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.” (Romans 1:16-17)

In the year 2009, I experienced the power of God. In that year, I believed the Good News about how Jesus Christ died, was buried and rose again on the third day for the forgiveness of my sins. I felt a great peace come upon me that day and received a strong desire to learn more about my God and Lord who gave His life for me.

As I began to study the bible the first thing that God showed me was that He died for all my sins - past, present and future. How great and liberating it is to know that all my sins, even my future sins have been washed by the blood of Jesus Christ once and for all.

Then God showed me that He not only forgave my sins but also made me the righteousness of God. (2 Corinthians 5:21) A simple word for righteousness is 'right'. When I believed in Jesus, God made me right in His sight and gave me an eternal position of son ship before Him. Today, I know that I am right with God. It is not my obedience that made me right with God but the obedience and sacrifice of Jesus Christ. The Good News is not about what you need to do but it is about what Jesus did for you.

You would imagine that when a sinner like me was told that all my sins are forgiven - past, present and future, that I would use that freedom as a license to sin. But the opposite happened. I began to serve God and worship him with all my heart, full of joy and thanksgiving.

I experienced the life-transforming power of God when I saw the power of sin die in my life. I stopped smoking cigarettes, hookas and marijuana. I stopped intoxicating myself with alcohol. I stopped desiring a physical relationship with my girlfriend before marriage. I no longer wanted to watch pornography. I began to bear fruit of love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. I began to spend hours studying the bible and listening to bible teaching everyday. Nobody, not even God forced me to do these things. It was the power of God that is present in the Good News that brought about these changes in my life.

God also delivered me from allergies. I saw the power of sickness die in my life. The blessing of God began to work in my life and in the life of my family members and we began to prosper financially. All this did not happen overnight. But it all began in the year 2009 when I believed on the Lord Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. There is great power in the Good News of Jesus Christ.

I have experience it. What about you?

I believe in the Resurrection of the Dead. In this post I would like to share some Old Testament verses about the Resurrection of the dead.

If a man dies, shall he live again?

All the days of my hard service I will wait,

Till my change comes.

You shall call, and I will answer You;

You shall desire the work of Your hands. (Job 14:14-15)

"For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: and though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God" (Job 19:25, 26).

As for me, I will see Your face in righteousness;

I shall be satisfied when I awake in Your likeness. (Psalm 17:15)

But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave,

For He shall receive me. Selah. (Psalm 49:15)

He will swallow up death forever,

And the Lord God will wipe away tears from all faces;

The rebuke of His people

He will take away from all the earth;

For the Lord has spoken. (Isa. 25:8)

"Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead" (Isa. 26:19).

"O ye dry bones, hear the word of the Lord. Thus saith the Lord God unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live: and I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the Lord" (Ezek. 37:4-6).

Furthermore, God says through Ezekiel: "Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel" (Ezek. 37:12).

The Prophet Daniel also foretold a coming resurrection when "Many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt" (Dan. 12:2).

An angel appeared unto Daniel and told him: "But go thou thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest [in the grave], and stand [stand up in a resurrection] in thy lot at the end of the days" (Dan. 12:13). The word "resurrect" literally means "to stand again from below" — re (again); sur (below); rect (to stand).

"1 will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death: O death, I will be thy plagues; O grave, I will be thy destruction ..." (Hosea 13:14).

Oh my God | Movie

I watched a movie called - 'Oh my God' last night. It is a thought provoking movie with a nice message.

It is nice because it dramatically coveys to the audience that no religion can lead you to God. In one of the scenes in the end, Akshay Kumar who plays God says: God made Man and it is Man who made religion. That is absolutely right! As a Christian, let me also say that even Christianity in the form of religion cannot lead you to God. When I say 'Religion', I am referring to any belief system that burdens people with laws and rituals as a means to be blessed and protected by God.

Jesus said it this way: they bind heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers. (Matthew 23:4)

I believe that the heavy burdens of religion include pilgrimages, lighting candles, donations, poojas, dietary restrictions, repetitive prayers, fasting etc.

However, the movie is also misleading. Although, it identifies the problem with religion it fails to give an accurate solution. The movie advices people to seek God from the heart. It ignorantly proclaims that all religious books are one and will lead you to God if you seek God in sincerity and truth. This is where things get misleading because all religions are only superficially similar but fundamentally very different. The Quran, Bhagavad Gita and Bible have completely different views on the Origin of Man, the Nature of Sin, the Nature of Salvation and the after Life.

After experiencing the life-transforming power of God in Jesus Christ I am convinced that the God of the Bible is the true God and there is no other. I do not expect you to take my word for it.

I invite you to come to Jesus and experience the life-transforming power of God for yourself.

Jesus said: “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst. (John 6:35)

Being a Witness

When you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and receive the New birth you enter the Kingdom of God. Every born-again Christian is chosen by God and sanctified to be His witness to the world.

There is a lot of confusion in this world about God and I believe only a witness can break through all the confusion and reveal the one, true living God-Jesus Christ to the world.

In Old Testament we read about how all the kings of the Amorites and Canaanites feared Israel when they heard about how God had dried up the waters of the Jordan for them to walk through. (Joshua 5:1) Israel was God's witness to the world in the Old Testament.

In the New Testament, the Church as well as Israel are God's witnesses to the world.

You become a witness when God does supernatural things in and through your life by the power of the Holy Spirit. God said: But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” (Acts 1:8)

Being a witness has a lot of do with understanding the work of the Holy Spirit in your life and in today's post that is exactly what I would like to focus on.

It is important for you to receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit after you are born again. This is an experience where the Holy Spirit comes in and empowers you. Nothing in the Kingdom of God can be done in your own strength and will power. God said: Be holy, for I am holy. (1 Peter 1:16) I truly believe that you cannot fulfill this command of God without receiving the strength and leading of the Holy Spirit. The bible says: I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them. (Ezekiel 36:27) And in an other verse its says: for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. (Philippians 2:13) Holiness is a fruit that only the Holy Spirit can produce in your life. (Philippians 1:11) When you try to live a holy life in your own strength and will power you will always fail and be disappointed. But when you rest and trust the Holy Spirit of God to make you live Holy you will begin to walk in victory. (Psalm 37:5-9)

Even if you do happen to grieve the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 4:30), walk after the flesh and give into temptation for a while the Holy Spirit will be right there to comfort you, convince you of your righteousness in Christ, help you repent and get you back on your feet. (Psalm 37:23-24) This is why Jesus called the Holy Spirit a Helper and Comforter.

When you live a holy life by the power of the Holy Spirit and think like God thinks you become a witness of God in the world. It becomes pretty clear to people that there is only one God and His name is Jesus Christ when an adulterer, drunkard, doper and curser stops doing things he used to do and starts walking in the fruit of the Spirit. (Galatians 5:22-23) It is a absolutely miraculous when things like that happen to people who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and receive the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit not only empowers you to live Holy, He empowers you in every area of your life and ministry.

When you are faced with a trial or tribulation you can trust the Holy Spirit to make you walk in faith and patience to receive the promise of God.

When you overcome sickness, debt, poverty, a broken marriage or any other impossible situation by the power and leading of the Holy Spirit you become a witness of God to the world.

I would like encourage you by saying that it does not matter what you are facing right now, trust the Holy Spirit to lead you and empower you. You will definitely receive your healing, restoration and breakthrough.

“You are My witnesses,” says the Lord,“

And My servant whom I have chosen,

That you may know and believe Me,

And understand that I am He.

Before Me there was no God formed,

Nor shall there be after Me.

I, even I, am the Lord,

And besides Me there is no savior.

I have declared and saved,

I have proclaimed,

And there was no foreign god among you;

Therefore you are My witnesses,”

Says the Lord, “that I am God. (Isaiah 43:10-12)

A Living Sacrifice

In the book of Exodus, we read: Let My people go, that they may serve Me. (Exodus 8:1)

In some translations of the bible the word 'worship' is used instead of the word 'serve'. The greatest worship that we can offer God is to serve Him.

“I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship” (v. 1) - Romans 12:1–2

Some of the most important words in Scripture are those that can be most frequently overlooked. Consider the term therefore, a word that can be easily passed by without thinking of the transition that it signals. In today’s passage the word therefore (12:1) alerts us to the start of a new section in Paul’s epistle to the Romans, a section that is the consequence of all he has said previously. After laying out many of the essential doctrines of Christianity in chapters 1–11, the apostle in chapter 12 begins to unfold the way we must live in light of these truths. The reality of divine grace, justification, the blessing of the Holy Spirit, and God’s plan to save Jew and Gentile alike cannot be embraced without producing a new way of life in the believer. Those who do not live as Paul prescribes in Romans 12–16 have never truly accepted his teaching in chapters 1–11.

Paul sums up the entirety of the Christian life in 12:1 in his admonition that we present our “bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God.” This is our “spiritual worship,” and understanding Paul’s point requires us to consider briefly one of the purposes of the old covenant sacrificial system. Our Creator, of course, did not need the animals and grains offered up to Him before the coming of Christ. What He was most concerned with was the attitude of the worshiper and the heart of the person offering the sacrifice. Cain and Abel both gave offerings to God, but only Abel’s was received because only he desired to honor the Lord and devote everything that he had to Him (Gen. 4:1–5;Heb. 11:4).

Full devotion of ourselves to God is the logical response to all that He has done for us, for nothing less than our time, talents, desires, and possessions could even begin to show our appreciation for His willingness to purchase us from the wrath we deserve for sinning against Him (1 Thess. 1:9–10). Such devotion means that we think God’s thoughts after Him, refusing to be conformed to the patterns of this fallen world, for if we love what the world loves, we cannot love what our Father loves. And the chief way we learn to deny the world’s ways and embrace the Lord’s will is through the renewal of our minds, which occurs as we study and meditate upon God’s Word (Rom. 12:2;Heb. 4:12).

Our response to Vatican spokesman who says pope is wrong!

Refuting Pope Francis' statements last week that those who "do good" will go to heaven, regardless of faith or lack thereof, the Rev. Thomas Rosica, a Vatican spokesman, has corrected his boss, saying those who know about the Catholic Church "cannot be saved" if they "refuse to enter her or remain in her." (Taken from MSN News)

We would like to correct Rev. Thomas Rosica by saying:

You do not need to do good works to get to heaven. Neither do you have to enter or remain in the Catholic Church. You need to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and receive the New Birth to be saved and enter the Kingdom of God. (Romans 10:9) (John 3:1-16)

The Good News for the Hijras and Eunuchs

In this post I want to share Good News of Jesus Christ with the Hijras.

[Most Hijras are born male, but some may be intersex (with ambiguous genitalia). They are often perceived as a third sex, and most see themselves as neither men nor women. (Taken from Wikipedia)]

Jesus' disciples said to Him, “If such is the case of the man with his wife, it is better not to marry.” But Jesus said to them, “All cannot accept this saying, but only those to whom it has been given: For there are eunuchs who were born thus from their mother’s womb, and there are eunuchs who were made eunuchs by men, and there are eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven’s sake. He who is able to accept it, let him accept it. (Matthew 19:10-12)

Jesus taught His disciples that few people receive the gift and anointing to live a celibate or unmarried life for the Kingdom of Heaven sake. These people are special in the sight of God. Paul said: But I want you to be without care. He who is unmarried cares for the things of the Lord—how he may please the Lord. But he who is married cares about the things of the world—how he may please his wife. There is a difference between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman cares about the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit. But she who is married cares about the things of the world—how she may please her husband. And this I say for your own profit, not that I may put a leash on you, but for what is proper, and that you may serve the Lord without distraction. (1 Corinthians 7:32-35)

If you have receive the gift and anointing to be a Eunuch, it is important for you to understand what pleases the Lord. The first step that you need to take is believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and receive the New Birth. (John 3:1-16) For there is no difference; for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. (Romans 3:21-24) It does not matter if you were born a Eunuch or made Eunuch by men, God loves you unconditionally and He died for you so that your sins could be forgiven. God has prepared the way for you to enter the Kingdom of God and spend eternity with Him. (John 14:6)

The Kingdom of God is really an amazing place to be in. As a child of the Kingdom, I testify that it is a Kingdom that takes care of you, protects you, honors you and does much much more than my words can express in one sentence. No earthly Kingdom can be compared to the uniqueness of the Kingdom of God.

Let me give you a sneak peek into this marvelous Kingdom. In the Kingdom of God, the King who rules and reigns is God. He is also our Father. Unlike an earthy Kingdom where there is one King and many subjects, in the Kingdom of God, God has made everybody a King and Priest. In Kingdom of God, God is interested in the financial prosperity of all His people. He makes sure that all the needs of His people are met on a daily basis. In the Kingdom of God, the sons and daughters of God are united with God in Spirit and have authority over all evil spirits, Satan, sickness and every evil power under the sun. God has a special Kingdom purpose that you need to fulfill on the Earth.

It is important you realize that what I am writing here is not theory. It is practical and can really be lived out on a daily basis when you understand it by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ died for all

The Bible says: For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that WHOEVER believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. (John 3:16-17)

He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; (John 3:36).

Revelation at the Hospital

I have had numerous occasions to interact with my Grandma in the past 5 years and there are a few things that I have learnt. In this post I would like to share them with you.

The Bible says: Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth, Before the difficult days come, And the years draw near when you say, “I have no pleasure in them” (Ecclesiastes 12:1)

If you have never spent time with old people here is insight from someone who has. One of the biggest mistakes a man can make is to postpone his decision to increase in the knowledge of God to old age. (Colossians 1:9)

Honestly, I have observed that when a person is old he is unable to study the Word of God and is left helpless to face the trails and tribulations of old age with the little he learnt while he was young.

The the bible explains old age poetically. When a person grows old, it says in Ecclesiastes 12:3-5 [Added by Me]:

The keepers of the house tremble, And the strong men bow down; [The keepers of the house here refers to a person's legs in old age]
When the grinders cease because they are few, [The grinders refer to a person's teeth]
And those that look through the windows grow dim; [This verse refers to a person's eyes growing dim]
When the doors are shut in the streets, And the sound of grinding is low; [This verse refers to the ears going deaf]
When one rises up at the sound of a bird, And all the daughters of music are brought low. [This verse refers to the inability to appreciate music]
Also they are afraid of height,
And of terrors in the way;
When the almond tree blossoms, [This verse refers to the greying of hair]
The grasshopper is a burden, [This verse refers to the loss of strength to the point that one cannot even carry a grasshopper on his back]
And desire fails.

I recently took my Grandma to the Hospital and helplessly watched sickness overpower her. The entire time I knew in my heart that sickness was not the will of God. If she only had revelation that sickness had no right to be in her body she could rise above it. (Healing School) But regretfully, I admitted at the moment that it was too late for her to understand now. Sickness already had a hold of her and she was not in a state to receive revelation and understanding from God.

The Good News is that it is never too late to begin a relationship with God. If you begin early, your end will be grand. (Job 8:7) If you begin early, you too like David will say in the midst of your trails: My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed; I will sing and give praise. (Psalm 57:7)

It is not the perfect will of God for a man suffer in sickness and die. I believe one of the places in the bible where the perfect will of God is revealed concerning old age is in the life of Moses. The bible says: Moses was one hundred and twenty years old when he died, his eyes were not dim nor his natural vigor diminished. (Deuternomy 34:7) Those who belong to the Kingdom of God have a new and better covenant with better promises than that of Moses. (Hebrews 8:6) If Moses could live to be a hundred and twenty and still be active and healthy so can we under the New Covenant.
