Tulips are my favouritist (It is soo a word!) flowers in the whole world!
Last year, I was pinning away on Pinterest (as one does) and I found a 'how to grow tulips indoors, in a vase' pin. I decided to try it last weekend.

I'm not sure how they will go because for some reason every time I have ANY indoor plants they seem to get bugs, a disease or they just randomly die. Even succulents!

We all know dental health is incredibly important but recent studies have shown dental issues can lead to other health issues as well.
According to recent research, gum disease can lead to cardiovascular and systemic diseases.
In fact, those with periodontal disease are almost
twice as likely to suffer from coronary artery disease as those without the
condition.

The boyfriend style has been around in different variances since the late 80s/early 90s and it doesn't look like it is going away anytime soon.
Personally, this is my signature look... casual jeans, tee and blazer or long line cardi with a scarf. Ankle boots, loafers or ballets to finish the outfit off.
It really is a casual, stylish timeless look.
So how can you make <img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/MummyOfStyleAndSubstance/~4/B0nCMv2riU4" height="1" width="1"/>

Unco-isms: Confessions from an uncoordinated person

I am one of those people who, if there is any chance of it happening, I will be the one it will happen to. You have read about my beauty blunders, now read about my uncoordinated-ness!
Personally, I blame the ability to hit or fall over random objects with ease on being half Irish and not the uncoordinated, geek girl I am.

I have always had an obsession with decorating and homewares.

I was one of those children who was forever rearranging their bedrooms and posters of Bros and New Kids on the Block on their walls (Of course, in my angsty teenage years those posters became Motley Crew, Skid Row, Gun's N Roses etc.).

Last Tuesday night, I attended the Sussan Marie Claire VIP event held at Sussan's new store in Highpoint Shopping Centre, Melbourne.

What could be better than champagne, shopping, 20% off at one of my favourite stores and finger food? Oh and a $50 gift card* to spend!

Of course, Marie Claire showcased the latest in trends and styling from Sussan's range. If you are a regular reader, you will know I regularly write about positive body image.
Did you know that only 4% of women of women around the world consider themselves beautiful (up from 2% in 2004)? A shocking statistic! How can we raise girl's in a world where their mother's don't see themselves as beautiful?

Today is of course Monday and I am hoping this week will be a lot better than last week.
To say last week was a bit of a shit would be an understatement and I'm quite happy it is now in the past.
I'm usually positive and optimistic, maybe overly so... I have an inspiration board, I look for the good in things and people, so why did I have a shiteful week last week? Being an animal lover, I love the Allianz tv commercials where a gorgeous dog called Sawyer steals the limelight and calls these ads his own.

Sawyer returns in the second installment of Allianz’s “Ahhh moments” campaign and was first seen over summer in the TV campaign based on bad luck moments.
A man standing in a suburban street puts Sawyer in the back of his car, then <img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/MummyOfStyleAndSubstance/~4/WGo1iCO7_Ag" height="1" width="1"/>

The easiest way ever to teach kids how to tie their laces!

The absolute hardest thing about having children is teaching them how to tie their shoe laces!

You need the patience of a patron saint (or a sedative/alcoholic drink of choice) to show them for the bizzillionth time how to do it.
If you have a child with special needs, who has poor motor coordination like mine does, then you need the simplest way possible to tie shoes!

Have you ever watched a movie that made you think about the world and where it is heading?
A few nights ago I watched the 2006 movie, Idiocracy. If you haven't seen it yet, the movie stars Luke Wilson as a mediocre army lieutenant of average intelligence who is chosen for a military experiment. The experiment consists of Luke's character, Joe, being frozen for a year, then he is 'awoken' <img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/MummyOfStyleAndSubstance/~4/DbXzqTu3N58" height="1" width="1"/>

Free Dermalogica Customer Event & GWP

There are two things I love, online shopping and a bargain. The fashion outlet website Fashionista Depot let's me enjoy both on one site!

To tell you the truth, until the lovely ladies from Brand Meets Blog contacted me about doing a post about Fashionista Depot, I hadn't heard of the site before. I know! Shock horror, yes?

The last time I wrote about Mr T and his Asperger's, he was seven years old. It is now three and a half years later and he is still the sweetest, most loving eleven year old there is... OK, I might be slightly biased but everyone says he is. On the 28th March, Mr T turned eleven and he is in year/ grade 5.

I did something I thought I would never, ever do in my life...
I bought something at Supre! Yes, you read that right! Supre!
I won't go into detail about what a lot of people over 20 years of age say about Supre, as I don't want any legal issues (eek!) but let's just say it isn't very nice and we are all about being nice here at Mummy of Style and Subtance.
So anyhoo... <img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/MummyOfStyleAndSubstance/~4/VNwRKHynfkY" height="1" width="1"/>
