Its been quite a while since I’ve done one of these… Life just sometimes gets in the way, and I took an unintended break. But I’m back and ready to introduce you to some lovely women and hopefully add some new reads to your list. This week I get to introduce you to Brooke, from What’s the Story, Brooke?.

Explain the meaning behind the name of your blog.
My name is Brooke Story and most of my life people have played around with my name by posing the question, What's the Story, Brooke? So, I decided to name my blog this because I thought it was suiting since it is focused on reviewing products and reviews.

How long have you been blogging? Why did you start blogging?
I started blogging summer of 2011. I've always been fascinated with beauty products and make-up and tend to purchase more than the average girl. I wanted a place where I could give my honest opinions and feedback about products I purchase that I love and find beneficial. I feel like most women are always on the hunt for the latest greatest beauty item or skincare routine for anti-aging and my goal with my blog is that women can be introduced and discover new products that they fall in love with.

What do you love most blogging?
The thing I love most about blogging is feeling like I am helping someone with beauty decisions. I know how overwhelming the beauty world can be. You walk into a drugstore or Sephora and are faced with countless brands and products and begin to think I don't even know where to begin. So, I like feeling like I am providing suggestions and recommendations that make your beauty search easier and successful.

What is the one thing you want others to know about yourself, or your blog?
I don't pretend to be a make-up artist or beauty expert... just a girl with a passion for beauty and products.

Explain the meaning behind the name of your blog.
I wish our name was more interesting but we were married in 2008. This just means that our little family was officially established then!

How long have you been blogging? Why did you start blogging?
I've been really blogging for about a year. I had a blog before that but I never really used it and I wasn't involved at all. I never left comment or anything like that. I was shy! I just wanted to document thoughts and events in our life. Over the last year, I've gotten so much more involved and I'm enjoying it!

What do you love most blogging?
I really love getting to know other people. I've gotten the chance to create relationships with people who live 30 minutes away and people who live 3,000 miles away. That would never happen otherwise!

What's the most surprising thing you've discovered since you began blogging?
I've been so surprised that there are so many people experiencing similiar things to me and my family. Sometimes, I feel like I must be the only one with a certain thought or experience. Blogging shows that that just isn't true!

What is the one thing you want others to know about yourself, or your blog?
That it's totally random but I try to keep it as positive as possible. There may be recipes, stories about our days or a picture of our puppy.

Explain the meaning behind the name of your blog.
I tend to make decisions with my heart before my head and making our house a beautiful, yet comfortable home is very important to me. It just seemed natural to combine the two. It just popped in my head easily!

How long have you been blogging? Why did you start blogging?
Since November 1st, 2008. I had many friends from Rate My Space that had one and they were always talking to me about starting one as well. RMS was a home design website from HGTV.com that is still around today.

What do you love most blogging?
Hands down meeting new friends!

What's the most surprising thing you've discovered since you began blogging?
How much it encourages your own creativity.

What is the one thing you want others to know about yourself, or your blog?
That I do get a messy house on occasion. LOL! I hope to inspire others with my home decorating and healthy living tips as well.

Explain the meaning behind the name of your blog.
I feel like my blog is the story of our lives. The 5 is for our 2 dogs, my daughter, my husband and myself. Although, I doubt I will change it once we have more kids. (probably not a good move on that aspect of it!)

How long have you been blogging? Why did you start blogging?
Well, I've had a few different blogs. I started before it was really popular, so probably around 2006 or so? I've always loved journaling and documenting things so blogging is just an easier way to go about doing this.

What do you love most blogging?
Well, now that I have my little girl, I love printing off my blog books. My daughter is 4 and loves to go back to look through them and see herself as a baby. I love that I have an easy way to document our lives and something we can look back on when we're older.

What's the most surprising thing you've discovered since you began blogging?
How many fun friends I've made through blogging!

What is the one thing you want others to know about yourself, or your blog?
I don't have a perfect life. I blog a lot about the good things and not so much about the bad stuff. But, that doesn't mean we are perfect and happy all the time. :)

Explain the meaning behind the name of your blog.
My blog title Mommy Musings just means that I'm here to talk about the random tidbits I've discovered as a mom!

How long have you been blogging? Why did you start blogging?
I started blogging back in January 2009. I was a brand spankin' new mom who really didn't know what she was doing. I started blogging both as a record keeper of my baby girl, as well as a way to meet other new moms.

What do you love most blogging?
I love the fact that I have a record of both my girls. I am *terrible* at keeping a baby book, so I love that I can look back on their infant hood, complete with pictures and silly stories about them!

What's the most surprising thing you've discovered since you began blogging?
I have been most surprised by the conections I've made while blogging. I am closer with some of my internet friends than I am with some of my real life friends!

What is the one thing you want others to know about yourself, or your blog?
I'm definitely not the most crafty, well-dressed, or most-together mom you'll meet, but I'm doing the best I can...just like most of you!

Explain the meaning behind the name of your blog.
Juanita's Cocina is a blend of my humor and heritage. My real name is Jen. When I was younger, I wanted to have a Spanish translation for my name. But, my father told me that there was no true translation for "Jen". He said the closest translation would be, "Juanita". I hated the name Juanita, because I thought it sounded ugly.

When I started my food blog, I dreamt that my blog's name was Juanita's Cocina. I thought the name was perfect...and a wonderful tribute to my father and my heritage.

How long have you been blogging? Why did you start blogging?
I've been blogging for a few years, but I only started food blogging the beginning of 2012. I started my food blog to journal my joy of cooking, my experiments in the kitchen, and to have fun!

What do you love most blogging?
I love the relationships I've formed through blogging. This was the most surprising part of blogging. Who knew that all of these anonymous people on the internet would become friends and confidants?

What's the most surprising thing you've discovered since you began blogging?
The blogging community is very supportive of one another. I love the camaraderie. It was quite unexpected for me to discover how much people support and friend one another.

What is the one thing you want others to know about yourself, or your blog?
I love hearing from readers. It's my favorite part of blogging!

Explain the meaning behind the name of your blog.
Unfortunately it's not all that creative, ha. Our last name is White, we live in a house and had a baby...thus The White House baby fit ha.

How long have you been blogging? Why did you start blogging?
I've been blogging for about 3 years. I started out blogging to just give friends and family updated pictures of our new bundle of joy. Now, it's something I love to do that enables us to go back and remember all the little things that time tends to allow you to forget.

What do you love most blogging?
I love the connection it brings with other mothers. Some days it can be so exhausting, daunting, overwhelming and then you read a blog post that completely sums up your life and you realize that you are not alone.

What's the most surprising thing you've discovered since you began blogging?
I've been surprised that I've actually got followers ha. Not a lot but just knowing someone else other than the grandparents take time to read about our life is pretty special to me.

What is the one thing you want others to know about yourself, or your blog?
I try to keep my blog positive but, let's face it, every family has it's own story and faces different challenges. I'm just so grateful to know there is a network of fellow mom's/women that can offer encouragement along the way!

I’m very excited to introduce you to E. When we started working on her design, I loved the idea of a traveling theme. Its still one of my favorite designs today!

E, Adventure of E

Explain the meaning behind the name of your blog.
A lot of my friends call me 'E' which probably started because some people get confused on how to say my name. 'E' just made it easier for some people and it stuck. I think life is one big adventure, and my blog is my documentation of my adventure.

How long have you been blogging? Why did you start blogging?
Well, I've actually been blogging since 2008, but "adventure of E" is my new blog, and I've only been blogging here since February of this year.

Originally, I started blogging as a way to keep my family posted on what was going on with my life because I had moved to a new state. This was before my family was even allowed on Facebook, so I needed some way to show them all about my new home and what I was doing. Only my family and close friends had access to my blog. Eventually, my blog turned into a personal outlet when I was going through some tough life changes. I stopped blogging there in 2010.

When I moved out to Hawaii to join my husband, I thought about getting back into blogging. I ended up thinking about it for about 6 months before actually committing and starting a whole new blog. That's where 'adventure of E' came about!

What do you love most blogging?
A couple of things.

First, I can be myself. Some days I'm ridiculous and horribly sarcastic... which may or may not be coming through today. Some days I'm calm, to the point, and that's it. It's nice that I don't have to edit myself too much.

The best thing though, is the amazing community that really exists here. With my new blog, I decided to put myself out there and not just restrict it to people I know. In fact, only a few of my friends, and just my mom, know about my blog, right now.

Not only have I 'met' some wonderful ladies, but I've also found some wonderful women who are military spouses, like myself, and who are going through/have gone through/are about to go through a deployment. It's awesome to get to rant about things and know that someone gets it.

What's the most surprising thing you've discovered since you began blogging?
The amazing community that exists. It truly astounds me at how supportive and welcoming everyone has been. I never thought I would enjoy it as much as I do, either!

What is the one thing you want others to know about yourself, or your blog?
That it's my blog. Sometimes I may not feel like writing anything, and sometimes I may write a lot. I may make mistakes. I may change my mind about something. The point is it's mine. It's like my home. I think that's something to remember for anyone's blog you come across and interact with. It's theirs and they are 'welcoming' you into their world by allowing comments to be made. They should be kind and appropriate. If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. Just move on. Thankfully, everyone I've come in contact with has treated it as such and been respectful. Which is why I'm so happy I got back into blogging. I hope you'll come by and say hi, too! And you can see Jenn's amazing work, also!

Explain the meaning behind the name of your blog.
My blog has changed a lot over the last few years. I recently realized that the most important thing in my life - my faith - wasn't standing out as it should be. I heard two songs that made me want to change my blog. The first one was "Live Like That" by the Sidewalk Prophets and my tagline is a verse from that song - "I want to show the world the love you gave for me... I'm longing for the world to know the glory of the King." Then I heard the Kari Jobe song "Let the Light Shine" and knew that is what I wanted my new blog title to be named!

How long have you been blogging? Why did you start blogging?
I started blogging in December 2008. It started as an outlet for me during a particularly difficult time in my life. I love looking back and seeing how God worked in my life and I have reached an amazing place.

What do you love most blogging?
I'm not sure I could pinpoint one thing I love most about blogging. The people are amazing! I have made some of my best friends through blogging. Another thing I love is being able to chronicle my family's life. If I forget something, I can just look back at my blog and smile and remember a great day with my family.

What's the most surprising thing you've discovered since you began blogging?
I was most surprised by the friendships that would develop through blogging. I e-mail, text, and call my blog friends more than anyone else!

What is the one thing you want others to know about yourself, or your blog?
The most important things in my life are faith and family!

Taylor, Fell Down the Rabbit Hole

Explain the meaning behind the name of your blog.
I'm a giant bookworm, and I’ve read Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass about 65,743 times. I think of it as literary surrealism…Alice finds herself in this crazy little world full of rabbits with pocket watches, talking dormice and dodo birds, a cat with an unmistakable grin, and a Royal Court that’s a pack of playing cards. I think Wonderland is perfect in its peculiarity. And honestly, who hasn’t felt (at one time or another) like they’ve fallen down a rabbit hole and ended up in a totally unfamiliar place? Fell Down the Rabbit Hole is a chronicle of my life, just trying to figure things out in my own, less colorful, but supremely real, Wonderland.

How long have you been blogging? Why did you start blogging?
I started blogging in December of 2011. I was seriously stressing about finals (It was my senior year of undergrad), and I needed an outlet, something fun, and a way to de-stress and express myself. Thus Fell Down the Rabbit Hole was born. I'm a newbie!

What do you love most blogging?
I've never kept a diary or journal, but I've always wanted to. I view my blog as a sort of journal, but it's much more than that. It allows me to share my life, but the best part is reading other blogs and getting a glimpse into their lives. It's an awesome way to connect with others, and as odd as it may sound, to make friends.

What's the most surprising thing you've discovered since you began blogging?
The support is incredible! You've posted about a bad day? BAM, someone is there, someone who you may never have even met, who will offer whatever you need. Sympathy, empathy, advice, whatever.

What is the one thing you want others to know about yourself, or your blog?
Ahh, please remember that I'm new at this! I'm still getting used to blogging, still trying to find my footing. Please know that I'm trying my best, and as much as I would like to share my life with followers and readers, I'm doing it for myself most :)

I started blogging about one month after we lost our son, Jack. It started as an outlet to process my grief, and has evolved into a mommy/parenting/lifestyle blog with a little humor mixed in ;-)

Getting to process all of my random thoughts and sharing my favorite things and discoveries with my blog readers.

What's the most surprising thing you've discovered since you began blogging?
How far-reaching the blog world is. I've made several "friends" through blogging and it's so awesome to find new blogs that become my daily reads. I read blogs as my source of news now! (Sad, but true!)

What is the one thing you want others to know about yourself, or your blog?

Elle, The Princess Diaries

Explain the meaning behind the name of your blog.
Growing up as the only daughter in my family, my mom has always referred to herself (jokingly) as the "queen" and I have been the "princess." I believe that there can never be too much pink and glitter is a girls best friend. I guess the name of this blog just fit me. I am not, by any means, spoiled or selfish, I just enjoy the "luxuries" of life.

How long have you been blogging? Why did you start blogging?
I'm a baby when it comes to blogging. ;) I started blogging in January 2012. So far, it has been a great way to express myself. It is my space where I can be as funny, serious, happy, sad, random, or as outrageous as I please. I also see it as a fantastic way to document my life.

What do you love most blogging?
Most people will say the friendships they have gained in the blogging world. Along with that, I have also found that I love to look back on my posts and remember the times I have shared with my loved ones. I'm at a stage where my life is constantly changing. I graduated high school, moved away from my family, started college, and learned about myself all in the span of about a year. Because I have started blogging at such a young age, I am excited to look back and show my future husband and children what life was like during this time.

What's the most surprising thing you've discovered since you began blogging?
It's amazing how many people will read and interact with what you have to say! I didn't expect people would find what I wrote interesting. Like I said, I just enjoy to do this for myself and if people enjoy to reading what I write, then that is fantastic!

What is the one thing you want others to know about yourself, or your blog?
Everyone blogs for their own reason. There is no right or wrong way to do it. You don't have to be the biggest or best blog. As long as you are happy, that's all that matters. It also helps when you have a beautiful design from the fabulous Jenn! ;)

How long have you been blogging? Why did you start blogging?
I started my first blog in 2008. I was working as a nanny and wanted a way to document what I was up to and also to share all my childcare ideas with the world. I shut that blog down about 3 months after i started it and then started momentary lapse of reality in 2009 as a way to share my adventures at university and to connect with bloggers around the world.

What do you love most blogging?
The bloggy friends! Bloggers are amazing people and I love interacting with them all. Whether it be commenting on someone else's blog, seeing them comment on mine, liking each others instagram posts or chatting on twitter, i thoroughly enjoy it all!

What's the most surprising thing you've discovered since you began blogging?
That you can make money from it! Whilst its not the reason I blog, I find it interesting that many bloggers are able to do this. I haven't made many financial gains just yet, but I'm on my way and love that making money on the blog will allow me to expand and grow the blog and bring new dimensions to it (recently purchased my own domain, and paid for a blog design ;) )!

What is the one thing you want others to know about yourself, or your blog?
I'm Australian (and not a mummy blogger)! You don't find too many of those!
I blog about being me, which I try to keep anything but boring.

It has been a ~~crazy~~ ~~exhausting~~ busy few weeks. I transferred over 13 designs in the past two weeks and finally updated the gallery with 26 new designs since September. Then I had the honor of working on the Silent Auction (thanks to all who bid, by the way) and was thoroughly surprised to learned we raised over $12,000 for Julee and her precious baby girl. Between the designing and the auction, I think I could go to bed and sleep for a week straight. Not even kidding!

So I hope you’ll forgive the small break in Blog of the Week highlights. But we’re back with a vengeance and I’m thrilled to introduce you to Melissa and her blog, Spouseisms.

Explain the meaning behind the name of your blog.
When Mark and I got married, we had to fill out all the name change paperwork. Many of the documents would say "Your name", then "Spouse's name". So we jokingly began calling one another, "Spouse". We became "The Spouses" to our friends and it stuck. :) Spouseisms are the tidbits of solicited and unsolicited marriage and dating advice we give so willingly. I keep saying we are going to write a book called "Spouseisms". We haven't done that, so I figured a blog would be a good start.

How long have you been blogging? Why did you start blogging?
I have had some blogs (read: soapbox rants) in my head for some time now, but I published the first one in March of this year (2012) on our drive to Houston. It looks like we may have some traveling in our future and blogging is a good way to let our people keep up with us! A friend said blogging is the new scrapbooking, ya know!

There's another matter-- Spouse and I live our lives and study the Bible with an amazing group of students. With our traveling, I couldn't bear the thought of them missing out on some of our Spouseisms or Rantisms. Blogging seems like a good way to stay in their head.

What do you love most blogging?
It's been neat to see who will take the time to read my shenanigans! Plus, secretly, I dig having a platform to stand on.

What's the most surprising thing you've discovered since you began blogging?
I am most surprised that people read it. Seriously!

What is the one thing you want others to know about yourself, or your blog?
Oh. Know that I am a mess! Our family is a mess! Most of the time our homeschool is a mess! This messy Spouse is a follower of Jesus Christ. I hope that all my rants and -isms just point to Jesus.

Explain the meaning behind the name of your blog.
I am a newly licensed lawyer who lives life to the fullest and my mantra is "blondes have more fun!"

How long have you been blogging? Why did you start blogging?
I started blogging after I took the bar exam to talk about my life as a new lawyer and a new wife! It's my way to share my experiences with those who want to practice or just want to know what it likes to be a woman-lawyer in a man's world

What do you love most blogging?
I love that I have "met" so many wonderful people! I also enjoy sharing my thoughts on the world.

What's the most surprising thing you've discovered since you began blogging?
That it takes a lot more time than I thought and that people actually want to read what I have to say.

What is the one thing you want others to know about yourself, or your blog?
These are all just my thoughts and not necessarily how every first year associate feels or practices. This is just my insight!

The name to be honest was just something snazzy that I came up with. My blog address Newlywed Savages I made after our wedding as our wedding website expired and I never believed how much I would fall in love with blogging and here almost 5 years later......looks like we will always be the Newlywed Savages

How long have you been blogging? Why did you start blogging?
Same as above!!!

What do you love most blogging?
I love being able to use this as an outlet to let others laugh at something silly I have done or more serious like a "cause" or charity that means a lot to me. I am very honest and I just want people to be able to read my blog and relate and that is most important to me!

What's the most surprising thing you've discovered since you began blogging?
I am discovered that I have made a ton of friends thru blogging, most I have never met but it doesn't matter we have a connection thru blogs that is special!

What is the one thing you want others to know about yourself, or your blog?
I want people to know I am Nicole, I love to blog.....I am hardly perfect. I love my husband, animals and I am a die hard couch potato! And every comment or new follower I get.......means the world to me

Explain the meaning behind the name of your blog.
My man loves to make comments about living "in my world". So when it came to a blog I figure I might as well just call it Ann Michele's World since I hear it so often. Besides just plain Ann Michele wasn't available as an address so world fit nicely. ;)

How long have you been blogging? Why did you start blogging?
Hmmmm....been blogging for a few years now. I basically started blogging because I wanted a journal that I could write in from any where. Little did I know how huge the blogging community is.

What do you love most blogging?
The freedom to simply express my thoughts and all that other good stuff. And I love the huge community of bloggers that exists it allows us all to meet, talk and learn from people we might have never otherwise had the pleasure of getting to know!

What's the most surprising thing you've discovered since you began blogging?
How at the very core of our souls, we are so much more alike than any of us realize.

What is the one thing you want others to know about yourself, or your blog?
That every Wednesday I feature shelter dogs who need loving homes, this is very important to me. Dogs have so much unconditional love to give and I just want them all to find the good homes they so deserve. I try to feature dogs all across the United States. If you know of dogs that need help/good homes send me their information and I will feature them on the blog.

Before we dive into this week’s blog highlight, I wanted to bring your attention to a few things.

Explain the meaning behind the name of your blog.
My blog name comes from my favorite line in the song "Wheel of the World" by Carrie Underwood. I think it is a great way to describe the ups and downs of my life and how God is in control of it all.

How long have you been blogging? Why did you start blogging?
I have been blogging since 2010. After reading blogs for about a year, I decided to jump in and do my own! I love having a way to document my life and having my own little corner of the internet to write about whatever I want.

What do you love most blogging?
I LOVE the wonderful friendships I've made through blogging! I have so many great friends that I would have never met without blogging. I love that there is a whole group of women who understand what I do and why I share my life online. I love that so many of my blog friends have become real-life friends too!

What's the most surprising thing you've discovered since you began blogging?
The most surprising thing about blogging for me has also been the friendships! When I first started blogging, I NEVER imagined that I would make such wonderful, real friends. I never imagined I'd spend weekends with them, go on vacations with them, and go to blog conferences with them! I am so thankful to have connected with such wonderful people, and I can't imagine not having them as a part of my life.

Explain the meaning behind the name of your blog.
I have a YouTube channel with the same name. I thought it would be easier to find me and less confusing for my subscribers to use the same name for my blog.

How long have you been blogging? Why did you start blogging?
Probably about 6-9 months. I started as a spin-off of my YouTube channel for clear pictures of makeup swatches and outfits of the day. It's turned into a Lifestyle blog about all kinds of other things but I mainly focus on fashion and beauty.

What do you love most blogging?
I don't have to be dressed up, have the perfect lighting, put on a smile like I do for filming YouTube videos. I can still connect with others. It lets others see more into my life and let them know I'm not all about makeup and beauty all the time. I like to cook, drink good wine and share that with others.

What's the most surprising thing you've discovered since you began blogging?
Blogging is the most addicting new thing since YouTube, lol. I didn't know there were so many bloggers into the same things as I am. Loved finding all the new fashion bloggers.

What is the one thing you want others to know about yourself, or your blog?
I'm just a girl that loves talking about makeup. I like giving my opinions on products, the good and bad. Love sharing my expierience on beauty, food, fashion and life in general.

Amber, Brunch With Amber

Explain the meaning behind the name of your blog.
When I originally began blogging, my name was "A Day in the Life of Amber" - I felt that was too common, and I wanted something different and a little shorter. I began thinking of titles, and I also knew I wanted my name in there. I wanted something "classy and fun" but a little uncommon. And then, Brunch with Amber was born. :)

How long have you been blogging? Why did you start blogging?
I have been blogging since June 2010. Almost 2 years, whoa! I started my blog one day when I was bored at work and surfing the web. I stumbled across a blog, and thought, "I could do this too!" So it began. I've always loved writing and journaling, so this was a way to do it online which is easier to archive, in my opinion.

What do you love most blogging?
I love the friendships I've made and all of the amazing people I've met through blogging. Hands down, that is the best thing. When I began blogging I had no idea I'd make friends at all. I didn't know how it worked. Now? Some of my best friends are ladies I met through blogging. I text/heytell/email/snail mail with so many amazing woman who I've been lucky enough to becoming friends with, thanks to blogging. :)

What's the most surprising thing you've discovered since you began blogging?
That there are so many other people out there like me. So many other people who are dealing with the same issues and problems that I am. I can't even begin to tell you how many times I'm feeling down/lonely and feel like I'm the only person in the world who feels that way. Then, I stumble across a blog post of a blog I follow, and know that they've been there too. It's SO nice to know someone else feels the exact same way that you do. You're not alone, even when it feels like you are.

What is the one thing you want others to know about yourself, or your blog?
I want my readers to know that I am a fun-loving girl who tries not to take life too seriously. I keep my blog posts very light-hearted and fun, with the occasional serious post thrown in for good balance. I try to write about things that not only describe me, or interest me, but things that I hope will appeal to my readers. I want to keep them coming back for more each day!
