Genre: Hidden Object

Hit New Hidden Object Game
The launch of Titanic II is set to mark the one-hundredth anniversary of the original ship. But a mysterious adversary has hidden a bomb aboard the new ocean liner. You are the sole person who can find out where the bomb is hidden and save the ship and all aboard.
Search for hidden objects in unique locations around the majestic ship, to discover hidden diary entries and other clues to reveal the bomb's location. Along the way you'll interact with different characters to learn little-known secrets of the original Titanic, and solve a century old mystery from that ill-fated voyage.
Editor's Review:

History repeating itself
1912 Titanic Mystery takes place a few years in the future, 2012 to be specific, during the 100 year anniversary of the tragic sinking of the Titanic. To commemorate the occasion, a replica vessel dubbed the Titanic II has been built. The ship will sail across the Atlantic, hoping to complete the journey that its predecessor began one hundred years ago. The people running the ship have even gone to the trouble of tracking down descendants of the original passengers and inviting them on board.
Don't we teach history class in school in hopes of avoiding situations like this? Isn't the point of studying history to learn from our mistakes so that we won't repeat them? Nevertheless, this is an entertaining premise for a story. If this were happening in real life, I would probably be upset, but in the confines of a computer game, I find myself pretty entertained by it all.

This luxury liner needs better housekeeping
Despite the ship's fancy exterior, the inside is a disorganized and cluttered mess. But I guess that's a good thing when you're dealing with a hidden objects game.
The locations you'll visit on the Titanic II are stuffed to the brim with a variety of objects and shuffling through everything is a lot more fun than it sounds. The different scenes look very impressive and the objects are expertly hidden, so veterans of the hidden objects genre should find a lot to like here.

Uplifting noises
The audio in 1912 Titanic Mystery, both the soundtrack and the sound effects, is a joy to listen to. The music is soothing and very fitting for the game's theme, and the sound effects are lively and cheerful. The noise you hear when you correctly locate something is a very positive "boopity boop" type sound, and while that may sound like a trivial detail, it actually made the game much more enjoyable than most. Too often when playing slower paced games like this I fall into a sort of trance and I just stare at the screen blankly, clicking away. With the encouraging sound effects, I was constantly aware of the fun I was having. The whole experience was very euphoric and you couldn't wipe the smile from my face if you tried.

And the plot thickens
When I first started 1912 Titanic Mystery, I was interested in the story, but I wasn't necessarily engaged. The premise, coupled with the fun gameplay, was enough to get me going. I really didn't know how long my attention would hold until I completed the first scene. After you find all of the items, you're asked to repair a torn piece of paper lying on the bed. I don't want to give anything away, so I'll just say that what was written on that paper got my attention and I was definitely engaged from that point on.
1912 Titanic Mystery is a fun and entertaining hidden objects game with a plot well rooted in factual history. It may be a little silly, but it will have you glued to your seat pretty early on.

On January 3rd, 2001, documentary writer/producer Wayne Darwen brought a professional T.V. news crew into the inner sanctum of The Order of the Temple of Astarte to record a remarkable phenomenon: the summoning of the ancient spirit Vassago. Early in February an edited version of Vassago's mysterious Prophecy was broadcast by the Los Angeles affiliate of a National T.V. Network, confirming that the spirit had predicted a major news event: only 13 days after the ritual had been audio-visually recorded, President Laurent Kabila of the Congo was assassinated!
In this video version we show you the entire operation in sequence, exactly as it happened with no rehearsals and no retakes. Wayne Darwen also interviews the Magister Thabion (Poke Runyon) and the mystic seer Frater Solomon. Their unrehearsed answers to his probing questions leave no doubt as to the philosophical depth and spiritual power of Solomon's ancient Magick even in this modern age.
This is an entirely new and original production. In "The Magick of Solomon" video (also available from amazon) we dramatically reenacted magical rituals for instructive purposes, whereas "Dark Mirror of Magick" is the record of an actual magical operation of historical significance. We believe that this remarkable documentary will be studied and commented on for years to come.
As an additional bonus, this one hour VHS video includes a ten page booklet, "The Vassago Millennium Prophecy", in which the seer and the magician give their impressions of the meaning behind the spirit's cryptic Oracle.

Here are just a few secrets to writing great Fantasy.
Put Old Wine In New Bottles
Storytelling is the art of recycling. Pick an old form and refresh it. Play with it. Unleash your imagination, but stay true to its tradition.
<ins></ins>
Learn the differences Between archetypes, stereotypes and good characters
Archetypes are the originals from whom the mold was made. Merlin, heroes of Greek myths and the witch in sleeping beauty are archetypes. Stereotypes are shorthand knock-offs, like the crone with the crooked nose who cackles.
Good characters are richer. They may be based on Archetypes, but they lead their own lives, follow their own passions, make mistakes, learn and grow.

More secrets, such as

Use magic, but limit its power!
Here:

The network of computers that is the Internet now grows in its complexity on an hourly basis. In many ways this intricate web of nodes and hubs already greatly resembles a Human neural network. How much longer will it take for the spark of sentience to ignite within this cobbled together artificial brain?
According to the research of Martin Hilbert, and Priscila López the computational power of computer devices as of the year 2007 CE came into what they referred to as “the ballpark area” of the maximum capacity of the nerve impulses as performed by 1 human brain on a per second basis. So far as the total storage capacity of computer systems at that time, they estimated that to be about the same as the amount of data storage necessary to store the entire information equivalent of an adult Human’s DNA. For more details, see:
World’s Total CPU Power: One Human Brain

How much further have we come since 2007 CE?
Read More:
Last evening, I received a correspondence from David Eckhart which included a rough draft (posted below) he and his wife are currently working on. This initial draft explains, in the third person, David's first encounter. The full manuscript will attempt to detail the ordeal he and his family have experienced through the years.
In related news, David was contacted by the producers of 'Paranormal Files: Fact or Faked' at SyFy...a filming scheduled has been made and they will begin in early February for the upcoming season.

My previous article examined the concept of Utopia, the ideal society. Modernists designed ‘ideal’ cities using the rhetoric of Utopia, but these schemes eventually came to be seen as social failures and proved that the idea of a perfect society may well be impossible. The concept of Utopia spawned the alternative proposition – dystopia. A dystopia is a negative utopia: a malfunctioning world. No one has attempted to actually build a dystopia, but the concept has been used as a metaphor to explore anxieties within culture and society.
In particular, it has influenced the way the future has been imagined in science fiction. Science fiction takes trends that can be observed in the present, projects them into the future and exaggerates them in order to comment on them in a metaphorical way. Dystopian representations of the future can be used to explore contemporary anxieties – such as crime, pollution or political oppression. The future worlds of science fiction are nightmarish reflections of the contemporary world.
<ins></ins>
For example, Fritz Lang’s film Metropolis is a depiction of unchecked technological expansion. George Orwell’s Nineteen Eighty Four and Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World both envisage totalitarian societies, along with Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451 and Anthony Burgess’s A Clockwork Orange. Blade Runner presents a polluted, post-industrial wasteland, reflecting the ecological concerns of the 1970s and 80s. These all depict malfunctioning worlds of the near future and again they reflect contemporary anxieties.

<ins></ins>

The Metropolis of Tomorrow
Hugh Ferriss created a dystopian vision of New York. Ferriss (1889-1962) was an architectural delineator – someone who creates perspective drawings of buildings. He trained as an architect at Washington University, but early in his career he began to specialize in architectural renderings of other architects’ work rather than designing buildings himself. Architects often found that clients could not read architectural plans, so they employed delineators to produce drawings that were more dramatic and persuasive.

Ferriss arrived in New York in 1912 and was employed as a delineator for Cass Gilbert, architect of the Woolworth Building, a skyscraper in the Gothic style. Some of his earliest drawings are of Gilbert’s Woolworth Building.
By the 1920s, Ferris had moved away from creating flattering images of real buildings to a deep imaginative engagement with the city. During the Depression skyscrapers came to symbolize the great discrepancy of wealth in American society. They were citadels of the rich, unreachable by normal people. Ferris produced a series of images in which the city appears cold and abstract. Skyscrapers are bathed in darkness and have a stern monumentality, like prismatic tombs. He presented the buildings at night, lit up by spotlights or shrouded in fog. They express our feeling that there is something cold and inhuman about skyscrapers. They are arrogant symbols of power in which humans have no place.

The Experiment
I just discovered Triond and read a lot of good reviews about it. A friend sent me an email about this site few days ago. I noticed that there are a lot of writers publishing their work on this site so i decided to give it a try. I also decided to use this article, which is my first, as a social experiment. My goal is to make it the most popular article on Triond, if its even possible!
How Much Will This Article Earn? | Authspot

The influence of pulp fiction spread to comic books. Modern-day superheroes were inspired by the early pulp characters. For example, Batman was created in 1939 by Bob Kane and Bill Finger.

Batman was heavily influenced by the Shadow. The Shadow was an unusually dark hero, a former criminal turned crime-fighter who retains an insight into the criminal mind. The tagline for the Shadow read ‘Who knows what evil lurks within the hearts of men? Only the Shadow knows.’ This was a major influence on Batman.
Batman is a dark avenger who uses the image of the bat to terrify criminals, whom he describes as ‘a superstitious, cowardly lot’. Batman was much grittier and more urban than any other comic of its time. It’s set in Gotham City and the word ‘Gotham’ actually means a huge, oppressive city. Batman writer Dennis O’Neil said that ‘Batman’s Gotham City is Manhattan below Fourteenth Street at eleven minutes past midnight on the coldest night in November.’

As it turned out that the fictional, invented from scratch the game has become very real sport? In Quidditch played in 400 colleges, and recently held its fourth World Cup in this fabulous sport. Quidditch, which is an interesting combination of many elements of rugby, field hockey and running with disabilities, came up with an English writer JK Rowling, to give children and adults to the magical world of Harry Potter. In the real world for the first time began to play Quidditch Middlebury College students. The only thing that distinguishes them from the book’s characters, is that they do not fly on broomsticks. Below is a selection of photos from the 4 th World Cup Quidditch, which was held in New York’s Park in De Witt Clinton, 13 and 14 November.

We are searching for one particular, very haunted house, here in Bruges-la-Morte. We need the the name of the street and the address of this house. During a number of seances with the Ouija board, a medium has made contact with the spirit world and has received some orders and coded messages...
Book Editors: Debut Novels
Business Book Editors / Children's Book Editors / Cookbook Editors

Beginning novelists often type phrases like book publisher, novel editor, novel publishers, find a book publisher, book publishers, find a novel publisher, first novels, editing novels, book publishing, first novel publishers, editors of novels, how do I find a publisher for my novel, first novel editors, writing novels, novel writing, or new novel publishers into search engines like Google, Yahoo, or Microsoft Live. What comes up when you do that? Vanity or POD publishers all over the first page, all promising to publish your first novel fast, as long as you pay them. Well, this list is different.
These book editors listed below work for real book publishers, and they have bought first novels from new authors within the past two years. And they paid the author for the rights! If you're looking for a real book publisher for your novel (not a POD publisher, vanity publisher, subsidy publisher, or other pay-for-it publisher), you have found the right place.
For success stories of first-time novelists, click here.
All 400+ book editors listed below have, at least once, bought the rights to first novels by unknown novelists or nonfiction writers (editors who we know have bought more than one first novel are bolded larger). Most editors do not accept unsolicited manuscripts. They prefer to deal with agents. For a list of 400 agents who have handled debut novels, see the ordering information below for the list of literary agents. Do not submit a novel to a book publisher without first finding out what kind of novels they publish.
Please let us know if any of the following editor names, book publisher addresses, phone numbers, emails, etc. change. That's one way we can keep this up-to-date for everyone. Email: JohnKremer@BookMarket.com.
Literary, Subsidiary, & Foreign Rights Agents - If you want to contact the best literary agents for your novel or nonfiction book, this listing of more than 1,375 literary agents will allow you to target just the right agent for your book. This report also includes 375 agents that sell foreign rights and another 50 or so that handle subsidiary rights sales. Also includes a sample foreign rights contract. Only $30.00.
"The old traditional way of getting an agent is the best way to get published. It really is the way we get most of our material." - Louise Burke, publisher, Gallery and Pocket Books
Learn how to submit to book publishers before sending them anything. Do not send an entire manuscript. Send a query letter or book proposal.
The first time we looked at HTML5 gaming you could count the lot on your fingers. This time around, though, you’ll need a lot more digits than your current 20 to reckon them all and quality has improved by leaps n’ bounds. Now, from arcade and strategy (FreeCiv, baby) to puzzle and card games, HTML5 has matured rapidly.
• HTML5Games.com
— Three score or so games across 10 categories, including arcade, multiplayer* and shooter, and everything’s free. Highlights include HTML5 Blackjack, Gameboy Emulator, Space Invaders and FreeCiv*.
• Akihabara
— A set of libraries, tools and presets to create pixelated indie-style 8/16-bit era games in Javascript that runs in your browser without any Flash plugin, making use of a small small small subset of the HTML5 features.
Where to find free HTML5 games | FairerPlatform

Early in the morning, not so long ago, a visitor to the old Abbey of Orval discovered a corpse in the ruins. The head of Paul Schoeman was in a pool of water and his neck was disfigured by a bright red weal. ..

Paul Schoeman was the producer of the semi-historical documentary serial Mysterious Belgium. Patrick Bernauw published three historical faction thrillers about his work, also in a mix of facts and fiction. One of his books is Nostradamus in Orval, about the so-called prophecies of Nostradamus which are in fact containing a code to find The Fortune of the Bourbons. This ‘War Chest’ of Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette disappeared in the Abbey of Orval during the French Revolution…
