We know from (3) that the youngest person was not the victim, from (4) that the youngest person was not the helper and from (6) that the youngest person was not the killer. The youngest person can only have been the witness therefore. If we make up a chart there are now three possible combinations:

Oldest person (father) H H M
Next to oldest (mother) V M H
Next to youngest (son) M V V
Youngest (daughter) W W W
(H = Helper ; V = Victim ; M = Murderer ; W = Witness)

We can work out from (5) that the father was the oldest, from (2) that the youngest person must have been the daughter. Therefore the next to the youngest must have been the son and the next to the oldest, the mother.

Frost forms on the inside of the window, not the outside. So Norman could not have wiped it off to discover Vic’s body. Norman lied and was the murderer!!

One evening at 1 gory Avenue there was a murder. In the home were a married couple, their son and their daughter. One of these four people murdered one of the others. One of the members of the family witnessed the crime. The other one helped the murderer.

These are the things we know for sure:

1. The witness and the one who helped the murderer were not of the same sex.

2. The oldest person and the witness were not of the same sex.

3. The youngest person and the victim were not of the same sex.

4. The one who helped the murderer was older than the victim.

5. The father was the oldest member of the family.

6. The murderer was not the youngest member of the family.

Who was the murderer?

The murderer was the newspaper delivery man. Because Wednesday and Thursdays newspapers were not delivered and this indicates that he already knew that there is no one to read it.

A new puzzle:-

On a cold winter morning Vic Timm was discovered (murdered) on the Study floor of his house. The milkman had made his morning delivery, a tall man and his short wife were walking on the pavement outside and the meter reading man had started his calls at the far end of the street. Vic was found by his friend and business partner Norman Wright. Norman calls the police. On their arrival Norman tell the story of his discovery to detective inspector, Nick Ham: “I often stop by on my way to work to offer Vic a lift. This morning” said Norman “I went to the front door as normal and after much ringing and knocking there was no answer” “What did you do next?” asks the policeman. “I walked to the side of the house; there was frost all over the study window, so I had to wipe it away to see inside which is when I saw his body. I kicked in the front door to confirm my suspicions of foul play and called the police immediately afterward.”

Having heard Norman’s story Nick Ham new who committed the murder.

So who was it and more importantly how did Nick know?    The answer next week – I promise.

An old man, Henry Frost, lives alone in a flat. Because of his age he is not able to move very well and so has most of the things he needs delivered to his house.

On Friday while delivering the mail, his postman suspects that something is wrong in the flat and looks inside through the key hole; he sees that the flat has been ransacked and the blood stained body of the old man lying on the floor.

CID arrived the scene. The old man has been murdered. Outside of flat, they found two bottles of milk , Tuesday’s newspaper and some unopened parcels.

CID waste no time in finding the murderer.

Can you work out who did it?  We’ll reveal the answer next week.

Our production for December is:

                                                       ‘Mistletoe and Murder!’

In the magic Kingdom the Yuletide ball is fast approaching

and this year everyone has an extra reason to celebrate,

the  engagement of Cinderella and Prince Charming.

But will everything go to plan?

Will the Queen be able to get her seating plan right?

Will Buttons dark secret be revealed?

 Will the evil fairy succeed in her plan to ruin the day?

 Or will someone ruin hers??

Remember if you would like to book a private production in December, or at any time in the future, you can chose whichever theme you wish, from a traditional 1920’s/30’s and every era before and after to a murder in a Pharaoh’s Tomb or one set in the Wild West.

We are also well booked into next year and look forward to performing throughout the UK and further afield. We’ve been murdering for around 25 years now, so we must be doing something right!!!!
