For nearly two decades I have written a weekly news update from Capitol Hill which was emailed to supporters of the Religious Freedom Coalition. The updates were also posted at our legacy site at rfcnet.org and then at ReligiousFreedomCoalition.org. A blog side MurrayOnTheHill.com also carried the updates and they were used by numerous news sites for reference. Regrettably over the years the number of subscribers declined as news feeds became more popular and the number of readers did not justify the amount of preparation work required.

The Weekly Capitol Hill Updates were discontinued in December of 2013.

Periodically the e-mail list of supporters is now used to notify of new material at our main Internet site.

Obama's War on Christians - The Obama Administration's HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius has put a price on the head of any religious employer who dares to violate Obamacare's abortion/sterilization/contraceptive mandate. Sebelius has issued thousands of pages of regulations for Obamacare. Among these regulations is a stiff penalty for any religious employer who refuses to supply abortion pills, sterilization services, and contraceptives. Read more

Dem Senator attacks pro-family group - World Congress of Families Managing Director Larry Jacobs said he was appalled that U.S. Senator Mark Kirk (R, Il.) bowed to the demands of sexual radicals and cancelled the use of the Dirksen Senate Office Building for a pro-family symposium. Read more
The Muslim congressman and the Nazi - Minnesota Congressman Keith Ellison will be on the roster with Obama's Muslim advisor Dalia Mogahed and Ramy Jan, one of the founders of the Egyptian Nazi Party at an event in December in Georgetown. Read more

Liberals go nuts to stop anti-war nun - Mother Agnes was recently invited to a "Stop The War" conference, but liberals are going crazy over the invitation and have launched a vicious smear campaign against her. Mother Agnes is being vilified as an "Assad apologist," "Assad's favorite nun," and called the Syrian equivalent of one of Adolf Hitler's Nazi priests. Read more

Turkey: Wrong outcome for helping terrorists - A Turkish official has said, "This was not the outcome Turkey wanted," according to a report in The Washington Post. This is one of the under statements of all times. Read more
Syria: Liberal news outlet says Christians are persecuted - The Daily Beast reported today that Syrian Christians who have fled from their homeland into Turkey, are telling reporters that soldiers with the Free Syrian Army are kidnapping, raping, and killing Christians who remain in Syria. The Free Syrian Army is the so-called "moderate" group supported by Obama and Senator John McCain. Read more

Obama's rebels target Christian schools, kill 14 kids - During the last seven days mortars supplied to Obama's Syrian rebels by the CIA have been used to target Christian schools in Damascus. So far,14 children have been killed in these attacks, with many more permanently injured. Read more
Obama forced to designate Boko Haram as terror group - Faced with very embarrassing testimony at a Congressional hearing held by Congressman Chris Smith, the State Department finally designated the Boko Haram as a terrorist group. It will now be illegal for mosques in the United States to raise and send funds to this Islamic terrorist organization. Read more
Congress
A great loss by a great friend - Senator James Inhofe, a great friend of the Religious Freedom Coalition, lost his son Perry in an aircraft accident this week. Senator Inhofe has held a pilot's license for more than 50 years. His son was an orthopedic surgeon in Tulsa, and his death is a loss to the community. Read more
Startling testimony at Chris Smith held hearing - Congressman Chris Smith's subcommittee on terrorism held a hearing about the Boko Haram threat on November 11th. Striking first hand testimony came from one of Boko Haram's victims, Habila Adamu of Yobe state. Adamu said he was challenged to renounce his Christian faith, but when he refused to do so, he was shot in the head and left for dead. He was the only adult male Christian survivor of that attack. Air Force says "no" to God in oath - The Air Force Academy, probably under orders from Barack Obama, has changed the oath of allegiance to the United States to remove references to God. Congressman Sam Johnson, who was a POW during the Vietnam War, has become personally outraged by the action and has introduced legislation to change the policy. Read more

Syria: Opps, Wrong guy beheaded - Islam is a religion of death. The very tenets of Islam promote murder, rape and theft. It is then no surprise that the ruthless killers of the Islamic terrorist group Islamic State Of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS) beheaded a Muslim named Mohammed Fares and stuck his head on a stick and posted the horrific incident on YouTube. Other Obama supported terrorists who happened to be watching beheadings on YouTube for fun recognized him as one of their own. Read more
Nigeria: Tens of thousands of Christians made refugees by Boko Haram - Islamic extremist Boko Haram insurgents have driven thousands of Christians from areas of Borno state, and some of those remaining are unable to hold worship services, church leaders said. Boko Haram attacks that killed at least 150 members of the Church of the Brethren in Nigeria (Ekklesiyar Yan'uwa a Nigeria, or EYN) in the past 10 months have caused 8,000 Christians to flee. Pakistan: Christian civil rights leader survives attempted assassination --again - One of Pakistan's leading Christian lawyers confirmed Monday, November 11, that he has survived another apparent assassination attempt by suspected Islamic militants. "I am being targeted by extremists who want me to end my legal support to victims in blasphemy cases," said Sardar Musthtag Gill. Read more

Obama's rebels establish sharia law - In most rebel occupied areas of Syria there is none of the "freedom" that Obama claimed would be established by the rebels he supports. Instead, rights have been stripped from women, and there is no freedom of speech or press because the areas are run strictly by Sharia law. Read more
Obama's war on religion - Bill Donohue of the Catholic League wrote a well documented column on Barack Obama's assault on religion -- an assault which does not seem to include Islam. The column has appeared at both NewsMax and the Catholic Leagues' internet site. I highly recommend it not only for Catholics, but for evangelicals and conservative Jews as well. Read more

Senator Rubio defends public prayer - In an op-ed just prior to the Supreme Court hearings on allowing prayers before public meetings, Senator Rubio said: I believe that part of what distinguishes America from the rest of the world is that we do not feel threatened by each other's faiths. The tradition of praying before meetings of governing or legislative bodies is common all across our country. In fact, it has been meaningful to me in my own career as a public servant." Read more
Prayer Caucus chairman defends public prayer - In a statement after the oral arguments at the Supreme Court on prayer before town-hall meetings, Congressman Randy Forbes made this statement: "The Establishment Clause of the Constitution was designed by the Founding Fathers to prohibit the government from coercing citizens to adhere, or not adhere, to a certain belief; it is not a license to remove all religious references from the public square." No special protection for drag queens - Nebraska Senators Deb Fischer and Mike Johanns have gone on record to oppose passage of the so-called "Employment Non-Discrimination Act" (ENDA), which would make drag queens, cross-dressers and transsexuals into federally protected minority groups. Washington Post reluctantly covers terror story - Wednesday morning, the Washington Post published an article describing the use of social media by Syrian terrorists to memorialize killers who died in battle. The dead terrorists' faces were made to appear as if they were smiling. The Religious Freedom Coalition and WorldNetDaily ran stories on these Syrian "martyrs" back in July and correctly labeled them as terrorists, not "fighters" as does the Post. Read more

Afghanistan: British soldier killed by the policeman he trained - Lance Corporal Brent McCarthy is shown smiling beside an Afghan policeman in a photo. Just seconds after the photo was taken, the Muslim shot McCarthy to death along with his comrade, Lance Corporal Lee Davies. Read more
Syria: Number of British jihadists in Syria now in hundreds - The number of British Islamists who have gone to Syria to fight in the war there is in the "low hundreds", a senior UK intelligence official says. Read more
Syria: Huge statue of Jesus erected - In a government controlled area of Syria a statue of Jesus was erected on a mountain and can be seen from Lebanon, Jordan and Israel. In the Obama rebel controlled area the same week, a statue of the Virgin Mary was destroyed. Read more
Norway: Imam says all Muslims believe in killing gays - At an address delivered in English in Norway, Fahad Qureshi, founder of the Norwegian Islam Net organization, said that "normal" Muslims, not just radical extremists, support the death penalty for homosexuals, and stoning for adulterers. Obama Army attacks "Healthy white, Christian, heterosexual men" - A controversial 600-plus page manual used by the military to train its Equal Opportunity officers teaches that "healthy, white, heterosexual, Christian" men hold an unfair advantage over other races, and warns in great detail about a so-called "White Male Club." Senator asks Secretary Kerry to speak out on religious freedom - Senator Jim Inhofe (R-OK) has recently sent a letter to Secretary of State John Kerry urging the United States leverage its influence to end the increasing attempts in the Middle East to silence religious freedom. Read more
Leading economic "conservative" attacks Senator Cruz - Grover Norquist, the alleged "conservative" who runs Americans for Tax Reform (ATR), has launched an attack on Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX), one of the finest men in the U.S. Senate. Norquist, who has a history of promoting the spread of Islam in America, recently went on Sirius radio with leftist Pete Dominick to attack Cruz. Read more
Congressman Allen West on anti-Christian army - Former Congressman Allen West (R-FL) speaks out on the anti-Christian bias within the U.S. military in an article he wrote at West's Steadfast And Loyal site. West demands to know who authorized listing Christian organizations, conservative Catholics and Evangelical Christians as "hate groups." Read more

Vandalized Ten Commandments monument rededicated - The monument of the Ten Commandments in front of Faith and Action ministry center directly behind the Supreme Court which was vandalized and toppled to the ground on its face has been re-dedicated at a service on Capitol Hill. Read more International Religious Freedom Day - Robert George,chairman of the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF), says the United States should continue its vigorous opposition to efforts at the UN to restrict speech deemed religiously offensive or controversial. For more than a decade, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), has pushed for blasphemy laws by means of its annual resolutions focusing on "combating defamation of religions." Read more

Sudan: Bulldozing churches for Muslim businessmen - After months of bulldozing or taking over church buildings on the pretext that they belong to South Sudanese who are no longer citizens of the country, authorities are aiding a Muslim businessman's effort to take over church property in Khartoum North. Read more
Syria: Location of kidnapped bishops known - Lebanese General Security chief Maj. Gen. Abbas Ibrahim said Tuesday he knew the whereabouts of the two bishops kidnapped in Syria last April, describing their case as more complicated than that of the recently released Lebanese pilgrims. The McCain/Obama supported "rebels" who are holding the Bishops have made no demands. Read more
Egypt: Egyptian newspaper exposes Muslim Brotherhood in the USA - The Egyptian newspaper El Watan has just exposed a network of Muslim Brotherhood operatives in the United States. The newspaper discussed the influence that the Muslim Brotherhood has over the United States government including the White House and army. Read more
Iran: Christians whipped for taking communion wine - A Christian was "whipped with extreme violence" as a lashing sentences carried out. Two of the four members of the Church of Iran denomination sentenced to 80 lashes for taking wine during a communion service were lashed yesterday. Read more

Obama created Syrian nightmare - Experts are referring to areas held by Obama's rebels as "the new cauldron for hatching terrorist strikes in the West." A bleak, well researched report in the Washington Times shows a hub of Islamic terror growing stronger every day in areas held by the forces supported by President Obama and Senator John McCain. Obama Army exposed for smearing Christian groups - Last week soldiers at Fort Hood, Texas were warned about giving money to evangelical groups or to Tea Party groups. They were told they could receive military punishment for doing so. This occurred on the same base where Nidal Hasan killed 13 soldiers and an unborn baby and wounded dozens more - and his actions were labeled "workplace violence" - even as he shouted praise to Allah. Pro-gay agenda activist takes over Homeland Security - President Obama has picked Department of Defense lawyer - Jeh Johnson - to run the massive Department of Homeland Security. In case Jeh Johnson's name isn't familiar to you, he's one of the primary architects behind the repeal of the ban on homosexuals serving openly in the U.S. Armed Forces. Read more

Senators demand response to persecution of Christians - In a letter to Secretary of State John Kerry, U.S. Senators Roy Blunt (MO), Bob Corker (TN.) and Lamar Alexander (TN) said recent reports of more frequent, targeted attacks against Coptic churches and individuals in Egypt "warrants a clear U.S. response." Congressman wants abortion coverage disclosed - Congressman Chris Smith (R) has more than 100 co-sponsors for H.R. 3279, the Abortion Insurance Full Disclosure Act. If passed into law it would force companies to disclose to those buying insurance if they were paying for coverage of abortions. Read more

World Council of Churches ignores persecuted Christians - Would the world, let alone Middle East Christians, be better off without the World Council of Churches (WCC)? Why has the WCC, which claims to represent and serve 345 denominations worldwide, done nothing to help the persecuted churches in Iraq, Syria and Egypt? Read more
International Religious Freedom Day ignored? - The issue of religious persecution around the world should be front and center for our government, but clearly it's not, under Obama. In fact, it has been Obama who has been one of the key political forces in creating more religious persecution around the world and in the United States since he took office. Read more

Yemen: Muslim father burns teen daughter to death - Only a month after an eight-year old girl from Yemen died on her wedding night after suffering massive internal injuries from her 40-year-old groom, a Yemini father has been arrested for burning his 15-year-old daughter to death because she committed the "crime" of talking to her fiance before their wedding. Kenya: Muslims murder pastors - Evangelical Christians are mourning the death of two pastors who were killed on Kenya's coast over the weekend amid concerns about growing pressure on devoted believers in the African nation. Read more
Nigeria: Police in northern states enforcing Sharia on Christians - As Christians in Nigeria continue to suffer violent attacks at the hands of Islamic extremists, they are also facing official opposition as the authorities enforce an Islamist agenda in a number of states. Read more
Syria: Disgusted by the West, Christians turning to Russia for help - It is very ironic that Russia, known for its history of atheism and persecution of Christians around the world, should now be looked to as the protector of Syrian Christians. This, while the Obama Administration and other western nations are openly supporting Islamic terrorists who are seeking to kill Christians in Syria and oust President Assad. Read more

Obama's DOD threatens priest with arrest - During the recent partial shutdown of the government the Department of Defense blocked at least 50 Catholic priests from saying Mass and giving the sacraments at military facilities around the world. Catholic Priest Ray Leonard, who serves as Catholic chaplain for the Naval Submarine Base in Kings Bay, George, is now suing the DOD over this violation of his congregation's right to the free exercise of religion! He is being represented by the Thomas More Law Center. Read more.
Obama's Army says Christian groups are "hate" groups - Officials at the Pentagon have issued a statement that listing the American Family Association as a hate group doesn't reflect the policies of the Department of Defense. However, more and more reports are coming from bases showing this is continuing. Read more
Obama rebels collect jizia tax - A journalist discovered that in areas controlled by the Obama supported Free Syrian army, the "rebels" collect a jizia tax on Christians to support their jihad against the secular government of Syria. Read more

McCain attacks Congressman Gohmert - Senator John McCain (RINO-AZ) attacked Congressman Louie Gohmert (R-TX) calling him a "person of no intelligence" - clearly suggesting that Gohmert was dim-witted and not worthy of dealing with. He was responding to Gohmert's very accurate statement that McCain was assisting al-Qaeda linked "rebels" who are killing Christians in Syria. Read more

California law allows boys to enter girls' restrooms - California public schools will be required under the "School Success and Opportunity Act" (AB 1266) beginning next year to permit K-12 students to use facilities, including restrooms and showers, and participate in school programs and activities, including athletic teams, according to their self-defined gender identity, irrespective of their birth gender. Those Californians who are not insane are raising signatures for a referendum to stop the law which would allow any boy of any age to walk into a girl's restroom or locker room if he "feels" like a girl that day. Morocco: Court persecutes Christians - A court in "moderate" Morocco postponed until Dec. 31 an appeals hearing for a convert hastily sentenced to prison for alleged "proselytizing," in hopes that international publicity over his conviction will subside by then, Christian sources said. Read more
PAKISTAN: Christian families in hiding - A Pakistani Christian family was hiding Sunday, October 13, after allegedly receiving death threats for protesting against twin suicide attacks at a historic church in the violence-plagued city of Peshawar, in which their friends were killed. In total at least 171 people died and some 150 people were injured in the September blasts at Peshawar's All Saints Church. Read more
UK: Muslim terrorists arrested in plot to attack mall - London police and British intelligence services foiled a Nairobi-style terrorist attack on London citizens recently. Four Islamists were arrested. All are British nationals but are ethnics from Turkey, Algeria, Pakistan, and Azerbaijani. Still the UK imports tens of thousand of Muslims per year. Read more
THAILAND: New bombings by Muslims kill at least 13 - Two separate bomb explosions hit Thailand's southern Narathiwat province on Saturday, injuring 13 people, including five reporters, police said. More than 5,000 people have been killed and over 9,000 injured in Thailand's three Muslim, ethnic-Malay dominated southern border provinces since January, 2004. Read more

Former congressman speaks on murder rate - At the Values Voter Summit today Congressman Allen West stated that the United States was number three in murder rates of all nations in the world. However, he said, when the Democrat ruled cities of Chicago, Detroit, New Orleans and Washington, DC were removed from the calculation -- the United States was 4th from the bottom. This illustrates, explained West, why the Biblical values of conservatives matter.

Indonesia: Christians still jailed for Evangelism - There has been no action by President Obama to ask the government of his boyhood home, Indonesia, to release Christians jailed for years for the "crime" of evangelism. Syria: Jihadists unite into one group - Forty-three different terrorist groups operating in Syria to overthrow President Bashar Assad have just joined an alliance known as the Army of Islam. The head of this 43 member terrorist group is Zahran Alloush, who commanded the Liwa al-Islam brigade. Not joining the group is the Free Syrian Army and the biggest terrorist group Al-Nusra. Nigeria: Death count rises in school attack - The Muslim group Boko Haram attacked the Yobe State College of Agriculture in Nigeria in the middle of the night killing 50 students in their sleep. United Kingdom: Tax funded Sharia compliant schools - The Gatestone Institute reports that a British tax-payer funded school is operating according to Sharia law in Derby. Qatar: World Cup slaves - The Guardian newspaper revealed the horrid facts of the treatment of "quest workers" in Qatar, who are the equivalent of slaves, used to prepare for the prestigious World Cup. This is the same Qatar financing the "rebels" in Syria to bring "democracy." Read more

Court rules in favor of National Motto - A New York federal district court has dismissed a challenge to the inclusion of our national motto, "In God We Trust," on United States currency. Forty-one Members of the House of Representatives signed an amicus curiae brief in May, filed by the American Center for Law and Justice and the American Catholic Lawyers Association supporting the motto. School trips to mosques but not churches - High school students in Tennessee were recently taken on a field trip to the Islamic Center of Nashville and were given Korans after the tour. They were also given a worksheet on Islam that described Islam as more tolerant of its conquered peoples than was the United States in its treatment of minorities. (Note: We have a black president.) Turkey: Renowned pianist jailed for blasphemy - An Istanbul court on Friday sentenced Turkish pianist Fazil Say to 10 months in prison on charges of insulting Islamic religious values in comments he made on Twitter. Tanzania: Muslims throw acid on priest - Rev. Joseph Anselmo Mwangamba stepped outside an Internet café on the outskirts of Zanzibar City, capital of the semi-autonomous island in the Indian Ocean about 25 kilometers (16 miles) off the coast of Tanzania, when the assailants threw acid on his face and chest. Meanwhile, his schizophrenic Administration continues to fight Islamist rebels in some civil wars while supporting them in others. It is very difficult to tell who's side Obama is on.
Obama appoints anti-Semite to religious freedom body - Barack Hussein Obama has quietly appointed pollster James Zogby to become a member of the U.S. Commission For International Religious Freedom (USCIRF). Zogby is founder and president of the Arab American Institute and a co-founder of the Palestine Human Rights Campaign as well as the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee. He is a defender of the Muslim Brotherhood and is associated with anti-Semitism. Read more
No White House comment on Syria joining weapons ban treaty - On September 12 the Syrian government signed the UN treaty banning chemical weapons and officially became a party to it. There was no comment from the White House. President Assad of Syria demanded that the United States stop hostilities to allow his government to dismantle chemical weapons.

Philippines: "Rebels" take Christian town - Muslim rebels continued to fight government troops, raising concerns about a pastor and other Christians held hostage in the southern Philippines. The latest battle broke out on an island adjacent to the heavily Christian Zamboanga City. Syria: U.S military admits rebels had Sarin gas - A U.S. military document has revealed that the Sarin gas from Al Qaeda in Iraq was transported from Turkey into Syria. Sarin was found in the homes of members of the terrorist group Jabhat al-Nusra which is fighting the secular government of Syria. Read more
Morocco: Another Christian jailed for faith in "moderate" Morocco - A Moroccan Christian remained behind bars Wednesday, September 11, after he was jailed for two-and-a-half years and fined for evangelizing. Read more

Senator Rand Paul on Syria - Senator Paul had a few questions about those whom the United States would be helping with strikes on the Syrian government: "Are the Islamic rebels our allies? Will they defend American interests? Will they acknowledge Israel's right to exist? Will they impose Shari'a? New Attack on "Under God" - We are once again back fighting for "under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance, a battle that I thought had ended in victory in the 9th Circuit court of Appeals. In 2007 I wrote The Pledge: One Nation Under God to explain fully the history and need for having "under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance to our Flag. Now a new case using the same argument that was used to legalize same-sex marriage has been filed by an "anonymous" atheist who claims his child in a public school does not want to say "under God." Morocco: Jailed for having Christian literature - In "moderate" Morocco, a young man has been sent to jail for 30 months for attending Christian meetings and having Christian materials. This is just one of the hundreds of stories of persecuted Christians that go unreported each week around the world. Persecuted Christians are of no interest to the Western media. Read more
Iran: New anti-Christian crusade - Iran's Islamic leadership has launched a public campaign to halt the rapid spread of Christianity among Iranians. Iranian intelligence services are organizing meetings aimed at debating the "conversion from Islam" and to analyze why especially Iranian youth convert to Christianity, well-informed Iranian Christians said. Sudan: Airlift to save Christians - The Barnabas Fund, an international Christian relief organization, is planning to airlift nearly 3,500 Christians out of Sudan in order to save their lives from Islamic terrorism. Terrorist Assistance And Facilitation Act - Retired Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) agent Michael W. Cutler says that the so-called "comprehensive immigration reform" proposals in Congress should be more accurately described as the "Terrorist Assistance And Facilitation Act." Egypt: Coptic Pope calls MB terrorists - Christians in majority Muslim nations face horrid persecution and their leaders do not speak out for hear of even greater reprisals. The persecution reached the level in Egypt under the Muslim Brotherhood that staying quit was no longer an option. Claiming 1,700 dead while showing older photos of twenty people being buried caused France and other Western leaders to demand "action." It costs $11,000 an hour to fly an Osprey. The Osprey is a $68 million military aircraft! Read more

Social conservative RNC win in NJ - A pro-life Republican who believes that marriage is reserved for one man and one woman won the GOP Senate primary in NJ this week. Steve Lonegan, former Mayor of Bogota, New Jersey will run against Newark Mayor Cory Booker in the general election on October 16th. Booker is an Obama supporter who will work to expand the welfare state if elected. He is also a close friend of Gov. Chris Christie whose party identification is hard to tell at any given moment. McCain, Graham and the Muslim Brotherhood - Senators John McCain (R-AZ) and Lindsey Graham (R-SC) recently made it clear that they are BFF's (best friends forever) with the Muslim Brotherhood and enemies of political freedom in Egypt. Huckabee on the mayhem of Islam - Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee explored the violent side of Islam on Monday during his radio talk show. He then compared Islam to other religions such as Christianity and said that during Christian holy days such as Easter and Christmas Day, no one fears Christians going into Wal-Mart and trashing the store or going out and killing innocent children. Syria: Fatwa allows robbery - A fatwa (Islamic religious decree) has been issued by 34 "Duma Scholars" giving "rebels" the right in Duma and Damascus to loot properties of Christians, Alawites and Druz and other minorities. Pakistan: Freedom to murder Christians - Christians in Pakistan's Punjab province were still awaiting justice Tuesday, August 13, more than two weeks after a local Christian leader and landowner was shot and killed by at least one Islamic gunman in front of his young children. Read more
Central African Republic: Muslims kill at least 15 - Attacks by Islamists on Christian villages in the Central African Republic have left at least 15 dead and made around 1,000 people homeless. The raids were carried out by an Islamist militia group, Séléka, which seized control of the country following a coup in March 2013. At least 14 villages in Bouar Diocese were completely abandoned after residents fled, Italian Carmelite missionary, Fr. Aurelio Gazzera, told Aid to the Church in Need. Read more

Obama ignores mass killing of Christians - In the last two weeks there have been two car bombings in the majority Christian city of Jaramana, Syria. Ten were killed in the first bombing and eighteen, including three children, in the most recent bombing this week. Not a word from the White House of protest when Obama's "rebels" kill civilians, including children. I appeared on the Mike Huckabee show this week to discuss the bombings in Jaramana. Dishonoring those who serve - August 6, 2013 was the second anniversary of the deaths of more than a dozen members of SEAL TEAM 6 and support personnel who died in the ambush of their Chinook CH-47. Obama ignored the second anniversary of this tragic event. He was too busy giving speeches and then appearing with Jay Leno to discuss playing golf and basketball. Read more

Deadly month of Ramadan - The "holy" month of Ramadan kicked off by warm comments from President Obama ended at sundown on August 7th. Terror attacks by Muslims during their "holy" month totaled 310, leaving 1,651 people killed and 3,048 more wounded. The attacks included 28 suicide bombers who sought their 72 virgins by blowing themselves up and killing civilians, including children. Most of the attacks were against other Muslims, but included attacks on Buddhists, Christians, Hindus and secularists. Syria: Islamists slaughter 120 Kurdish children - Reports have emerged detailing a new massacre in which 450 Kurds - including 120 children - were allegedly slaughtered by al-Qaeda-linked rebels fighting against the Syrian government. The report has sparked international concern. According to Iranian TV channel Al-Alam, militants from the Jabhat al-Nusra Front attacked the town of Tal Abyad on Monday, killing 120 children and 330 women and elderly near the Turkish border. Somalia: Three American jihadists killed - The list of Americans dying for jihad in foreign lands continues to grow. MEMRI has translated a video from a pro-jihad site that features three Americans who have died fighting jihad in Somalia to obtain their 72 virgins in paradise. Read more
Philippines: Muslims attack school/hospital - Five people were killed and 26 others were injured today in the city of Cotabato, Philippines. The bomb was placed in a van or other vehicle near a hospital and school during the afternoon rush hour. Read more
Iraq: Ramadan death total rising - During the month of July more than 1,000 Iraqi civilians were killed by Islamists trying to topple the government installed by the United States. It is the worst death toll for one month in more than five years. During the nine years the US was involved in Iraq, 4,486 American servicemen died and countless more were wounded . Read more

Our Web site continues to crash - Endurance International Group bought our hosting provider - Hostgator - in June of this year. They have attempted to move the millions of Internet sites Hostgator hosted to their Hostmonster faculty in Utah as a cost cutting measure and the results have been disastrous. Since the move the speed at which the Religious Freedom Coalition serves out has drastically increased and there have been numerous outages including one on Friday August 2nd that had our site offline for more than five hours. We are currently looking for an alternative provider.

Clarity on Snowden and Russia - President Obama, along with Senate allies such as Senator John McCain, have lambasted Russia for refusing to extradite NSA leaker Edward Snowden so he can be arrested and tried for treason here. PROBLEM: The United States has never signed any extradition treaty with Russia because we want to "protect" any Russian "dissidents" who bring Russian secrets to the USA. We do NOT have an extradition treaty with China for the same reason. Bottom line: Obama and McCain want Russia to extradite Snowden and any other "leaker" back to the USA while retaining the right NOT to extradite anyone to Russia. Obama Justice: Transgenders a protected class - A troubled young boy has what is known as a Gender Identity Disorder. This is a treatable mental condition, but Obama's DOJ apparently thinks this is a fixed identity and one that warrants federal protection. Attorney General Holder thinks that "transgender discrimination" is sex discrimination under the 1964 Civil Rights law. He's nuts. Read more
Obama's IRS still targets pro-life groups - The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is still brazenly targeting pro-life groups even after the congressional investigations began on its practices of going after conservative groups in 2010, 2011, and 2012. Read more

Congressmen question IRS targeting of pro-life Groups - On July 30, Congressman Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Congressman Darryl Issa (R-CA) with the House Oversight And Government Reform Committee sent a stern letter to acting IRS Commissioner Daniel Werfel on his lack of cooperation in their IRS investigation. Obama's Ramadan - At the beginning of Ramadan, President Barack Obama stated, "I wish Muslims across America and around the world a month blessed with the joys of family, peace and understanding. Ramadan Kareem." So far into the "holy" Muslim month of Ramadan, there have been 178 terror attacks including 18 suicide bombings. In these attacks 836 people died and 1646 have been wounded. Former VP Al Gore's gateway to Islamist propaganda - Al-Jazeera is supportive of both the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas, as the article below describes. And with plenty of money, the organization is buying up a lot of talent, many with Irish and German sounding names, to disguise the fact that it is an outlet for radical Islam. "Liberal" Al Gore took tens of millions from Former Qatari emir Sheik Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani and from the Qatari government in return for handing over his cable network. Read more

Congressman warns of new "global caliphate" - Speaking for almost an hour, Congressman Louie Gohmert (R-TX) warned that we are witnessing "the rise of a new Ottoman Empire in the Middle East, which, unfortunately, the Obama Administration has helped jump-start." Read more
Congressman: Religious freedom becoming a "second tier" right- Congressman Randy Forbes (R-VA) believes that religious freedom is becoming a "second tier" right in the United States. He stated, "When the government says, 'You can believe whatever you want, but you will be penalized if you exercise those beliefs,' we have entered dangerous territory." Read more
Congressman says no funds for atheist "chaplain" - Congressman John Fleming (R-LA) is working to create an amendment to the defense budget bill that will prevent any atheist or humanist chaplains in the military. According to Fleming: "When it comes to the idea of an atheist chaplain, which is an oxymoron - it's self-contradictory - what you're really doing is now saying that we're going to replace true chaplains with non-chaplain chaplains.Read more

Immigrant wins battle to keep Jesus statue up - Tuan Pham, a Vietnamese refugee who moved to the United States in 1980, has won a legal victory against the city of St. Paul, Minnesota over a statue of Jesus he had erected on his property. The city of St. Paul had ordered him to take it down. Read more
Air Force Chaplain under attack - The atheist group in the military called "Religious Freedom Foundation," which is headed by Mikey Weinstein, is once again in the news. This time, Weinstein is seeking punishment for Lt. Col. Kenneth Reyes, a Christian chaplain based in Alaska. What's Reyes' crime? He wrote a "Chaplain's Corner" column that was titled: "No Atheists In Foxholes: Chaplains Gave All In World War II." Read more

Syria: Congressman speaks out against arming "rebels" - Rep. Jeff Fortenberry (R-NE) is speaking out against the shipment of arms to Obama's so-called Syrian "rebels," who are actually Islamic terrorist killers who recently attacked a convoy of Christians in Aleppo. Read more
Syria: Obama "rebels" attack convoy of unarmed Christians - The Obama/McCain backed Syrian terrorists this week attacked a convoy of trucks and buses in northern Syria. The convoy was a group of Syrian-Armenian Christians civilians who travel together for safety. Read more
Yemen : Young girl flees forced Muslim marriage - Nada Al-Ahdal, an 11-year-old Yemeni girl, recently fled her parents' home in order to avoid being married off against her will. Recounting her story in an impromptu video recorded in a car, she said that she would rather die than enter a marriage at her age. Read more
India: Hindus join Muslims in persecuting Christians - India's Madhya Pradesh state has passed legislation that would send those who convert to Christianity, along with their religious leaders, to prison for failing to obtain permission from authorities at least one month prior to conversion. Read more

Ft. Hood victim attacks Obama Administration - Sgt. Alonzo Lunsford was shot seven times by Islamic terrorist Nidal Hasan during the Fort Hood massacre four years ago. Lunsford is angered by Attorney General Eric Holder's refusal to file terrorism charges against Hasan, a Muslim who served in the U.S. Army, but hated America and sought to defend the Taliban. Christian conservative for President? - Texas Senator Ted Cruz, (R) an outspoken pro-life Christian conservative was in Iowa today speaking at the Iowa Renewal Project, a gathering of conservative pastors. David Lane, who heads up the renewal project said, "There's going to be a major push in Iowa to get evangelicals registered and practicing in the civil government arena. You'll elect every senator, every congressman, every state representative, every governor, every mayor, every city council member - you'll own the whole deal if our constituency will engage." Pro-gay, anti DOMA decision will affect public schools - The recent Supreme Court decisions on Proposition 8 and the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) will have a negative impact on children in public schools in the near future, according to the Alliance Defending Freedom. Read more
American imam trashes Constitution and human rights - Muslim Imam Zaid Shakir recently spoke at the annual Islamic Society of North America-Muslim American Society convention in Hartford, Connecticut. He stated that Sharia law was superior to the U.S. Constitution and that Christians and Jews are dhimmi who must be submissive to Muslims. Read more

Dubai: European jailed because she was raped - A young Norwegian woman has been sentenced to 16 months in jail after she reported a rape in Dubai. The 24-year-old was in the United Arab Emirates on a business trip when she was raped and reported the assault to the local police. Under the UAE's Islamic Sharia law, rapists can only be convicted if either the perpetrator confesses, or if four adult Muslim males witness the crime. Read more
Egypt: Muslim Brotherhood declares war - Reports are that the Muslim Brotherhood will begin attacks against Egypt's military compounds, military personnel, government buildings, and soft targets (houses, stores, and churches) in order to recover and secure their power over Egypt - then reinstate Mohammad Morsi as President. Sudan: Christians uprooted and killed - South Sudan's secession has served as a pretext for Muslim President Bashir's regime to bulldoze church buildings once owned by South Sudanese and to deport Christians based on their ethnicity. Converts are tracked down and killed. Read more
China: Model of America with no soul - On July 17th, Religious Freedom Coalition chairman William J. Murray spoke at a religious freedom rally on the lawn of the Capitol Building organized by the Falun Gong, a persecuted minority in China. Murray referred to China as a "model of America without a soul," alluding to the 47% of the population who are self declared atheists. Read more

Egypt: Muslims murder more Christians - Following the shooting death of a priest in Northern Sinai and the murder of four Coptic Christians near Luxor, Christians are living in fear after first hoping that the deposing of the Muslim Brotherhood would ease their persecution. Read more
Syria: Massacre at Christian village - Obama's so-called "Syrian rebels" continue to bring death and destruction upon Christians and Christian churches in Syria. Iraq: How the U.S. "fixed" Iraq - The Rev. Andrew White, pastor of an Anglican church in Baghdad, tells of the "terrible suffering" of Christians in Iraq. In the last ten years since Saddam Hussein was killed, 1,026 of his church members have been killed - 58 in one day. Iraq's Christian population has shrunk from 1.5 million to around 200,000. Obama's main man in Egypt out - President Obama's Arab Spring which features the installation of Islamists governments in the Middle East derailed somewhat this week as the Egyptian military deposed Muslim Brotherhood President Morsi from power. The current head of the Muslim Brotherhood, Mohammed Badie, was arrested for the deaths of eight protestors outside his headquarters.
Obama's proxy war on Christians - With the recent decision to arm the opposition fighting Syrian President Assad, President Obama has effectively declared a proxy war on Syria's indigenous Christians, yet it is being presented to the American people as a war to safeguard the "human rights" and "freedoms" of the Syrian people. Syria: Towns face rebels mass murder - Obama supported "rebels" have threatened to kill all 50,000 residents of two towns near Aleppo they have under siege unless they surrender. The towns have been cut off from water and food by the "rebels" for nearly a year and that is OK with the West. Read more
Egypt - Many Christian girls kidnapped under Morsi rule - Churches were anxiously awaiting on Friday, July 5, to learn whether Egypt's new president would be able to end massive kidnappings of Christians, many of them Coptic Christian girls, as well as wealthy believers. The abductions have become a sensitive issue for Adly Mansour who was sworn in as interim head of state this week. Read more
China: Muslims kill another 27 people - Muslims attacked police and other people with knives and set fire to police cars in China's restive far-western region this week in violence that killed 27 people, one of the bloodiest incidents since unrest in the regional capital killed nearly 200 in 2009. Jihadist welcomed at White House - An extremist Muslim was invited to the White House and sat with Obama security advisers. He then posted photos of his White House visit at an Islamic hate site. Bin Bayyah lobbied the White House to "take urgent action" to help Syrian rebels. "We demand Washington take a greater role in [Syria]," Bin Bayyah told Al-Jazeera. President Obama later announced plans to arm Syrian rebels. Read more
Obama supported "rebels" behead monk - This week we reported on the murder of a monk in Syria. The next day his beheading was proudly placed on Youtube by the Syrian rebels supported by Barack Obama and John McCain. Youtube finally removed the video but many had copied it. Two Bishops and several priests are still held by Syrian "rebels." Read more
Obama gay pride - Barack Obama, who opposed same-sex marriage when he ran for President in 2008, called the "gay" plaintiffs in the Supreme Court case they recently won, to celebrate with them. Next comes the persecution of Christians who refuse to say that anal sex is normal.
Obama ignores Religious Liberty law - Last year's National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) included a provision designed to protect the religious liberties of members of our Armed Forces. Obama just ignored it and refused to enact regulations for implementation of the provision. Read more

Religious liberty may die with DOMA - Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (R-MN) and other legislators have spoken out against the Supreme Court's rulings on DOMA and Proposition 8 which effectively legalized same-sex marriage along with federal benefits for "spouses." These members of Congress pointed out that the decision erodes the traditional family and opens the door to polygamy. Read more
Petition to Congress: Allow Christian terror victims to come to camp in USA - A full investigation must be made by both the House and Senate as to why three Christian kids who were victims of terror were denied visas for a summer camp, while the one Muslim on the same application was approved. War on the family continues - Just a few days before the Supreme Court decision to legalize marriage based on anal sex I wrote an op-ed for WND on the continued war on the family that began in the 1960's. The Supreme Court forcing the federal government to pay benefits to same-sex partners removes a moral line that opens the door to polygamy. Read more
Can Hobby Lobby beat Obamacare? - Christian-owned Hobby Lobby has won a small victory against the abortion mandate in Obamacare. A Court of Appeals has reversed a lower court ruling that prevented Hobby Lobby from seeking an injunction against the abortion mandate in Obamacare health care coverage. Read more

Afghanistan: "Peace partner" attacks Presidential Palace - The Taliban, with whom President Obama has decided to negotiate peace, just this week attacked the Afghan presidential palace and a CIA station in Kabul. Three security officers died as well as the attackers. Read more
Syria: Obama's arms boat sinks - You can't make this up. The container ship MOL Comfort, while carrying arms to Obama's Syrian "rebels," split in half and sank in the Indian Ocean this week. Many of the containers are floating toward Goa. Meanwhile the commander of the "rebels," General Salim Idis said on TV that "Israel is an enemy country. I say that loud and clear." Syria: Suicide bomber hits Cathedral - In Damascus a "rebel" suicide bomber mingled with a group of people queuing for food and other basic necessities handed out by a Christian charity. Odd how these Obama supported "freedom fighters" blow themselves up just like Muslim fanatics. Read more Turkey: Nation fast becoming Islamist police state - The nation of Turkey is rapidly becoming a police state under Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan. He is turning the police into his personal army to battle any protesters against his regime. Read more

Obama admits Muslim victim of terror to USA, but not Christians - The non-profit group Tuesday's Children invited four victims of terror to a summer camp in the USA. Of the four Nigerian teenagers who applied to the U.S. embassy for visas at the behest of Tuesday's Children, the embassy denied visa requests for the three who are Christian but accepted the one who is Muslim. Petition to Congress: Allow Christian terror victims to come to camp in USA - A full investigation must be made by both the House and Senate as to why three Christian kids who were victims of terror were denied visas for a summer camp, while the one Muslim on the same application was approved. Obama's Arab Spring causes persecution - A Pew Research Center study has found that since the beginning of the so-called "Arab Spring" in 2010 - engineered by Barack Hussein Obama - religious persecution against Christians has increased throughout the Middle East. Read more
Obama spy program on churches OK, but not on mosques - The Washington Examiner has published a two-part expose on Obama's spying program in American churches, looking for those who have "anti-government" opinions. While this spy program is going on, targeting conservative Christians, Obama has put spying in mosques off limits. Read more

Senators move to block aid to Syria jihadists - A bipartisan group of senators has introduced legislation to block the U.S. from escalating its involvement in the Syrian civil war, as concerns mount on Capitol Hill over the Obama administration's plan to directly arm rebels. Senators Rand Paul (R-KY), Mike Lee (R-UT), Tom Udall (D-NM) and Chris Murphy (D-CN) introduced the bill Thursday to prohibit the Defense Department and intelligence agencies from funding operations in Syria. Congressmen and Senators want military religious liberty protections - President Obama is objecting to an amendment proposed by Rep. John Fleming (R-LA) and amendments by Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Senator Mike Lee (R-UT). Fleming's amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act would expand protection of the rights of conscience to members of the Armed Forces and to Chaplains. Read more

Saudi Arabia: Years in jail for helping a woman in need - Saudi women's rights activists Wajeha Al-Huweidar and Fawzia Al-'Uyouni were sentenced to prison for trying to help a Canadian woman living in Saudi Arabia. The woman was locked in the basement with her kids and without food; her Saudi husband will not allow her to return to Canada. Read more
Nigeria: Muslims brag about killing kids - The Muslim terror group Boko Haram issued a statement bragging about the murders of nine young students at their school for the "crime" of helping the Nigerian army. This is the second attack on children by the Boko Haram this week. The Obama Administration refuses to list the Boko Haram as a terror organization. Read more
Syria: No word on kidnapped bishops - Lebanon's Maronite Catholic patriarch and Syria's Greek Orthodox patriarch called for the release of two Orthodox bishops kidnapped in Syria. "We demand the kidnappers and the countries concerned" to release the two bishops and the two priests kidnapped before them," said Lebanese Cardinal Bechara Rai, the Maronite patriarch, and Greek Orthodox Patriarch John X in a joint statement. Syria: At least 300 Western jihadists held - Hundreds of Western jihadists from more than a dozen nations including the United States, France, Italy, the United Kingdom and even Sweden have died in Syria fighting the secular government. The Syrian government has now revealed that it is also holding about 300 Western jihadists, including Americans, as prisoners..
Syria: UN says "rebels" used poison gas - A United Nations commission of inquiry into the use of Sarin by Syrian terrorists is led by Carla Del Ponte. She said her investigators "have been in neighboring countries interviewing victims, doctors and field hospitals, and, according to their report - which I have seen, there are strong, concrete suspicions but not yet incontrovertible proof of the use of Sarin gas, from the way the victims were treated. This was use on the part of the opposition, the rebels, not by the government authorities." Read more

Senator McCain's rebels kill teen for "heresy" - Senator John McCain's new friends in Syria - the so-called "rebels" who are fighting to overthrow Syrian President Assad - executed a 15-year-old boy in front of his parents. His crime? He was considered a Muslim "heretic" for uttering a comment that offended the Al-Qaeda-linked terrorists. Read more
Congressman finds FBI ignorant on al-Qaeda - Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) grilled FBI Director Robert Mueller earlier this week and found that the director was ignorant of the Al Qaeda origins of the Boston mosque. It was at this mosque that the Boston Marathon bombers probably were radicalized by an Islamist Imam. Read more

Afghanistan: Parliament gives OK for child brides - Is this what America fought for in Afghanistan? Is this why so many of our best died there? Afghanistan's parliament has rejected a measure that would have barred men from marrying girls younger than 16, saying the proposal ran counter to Islamic ideology. Read more

Syria: Christians returning as government gains ground - According to John McCain and Barack Obama the "rebels" are the good guys in Syria.
