It involves creating a piece of 9/11 relevant Mail Art of any size. The collection already includes over 1,500 pieces of Mail Art and it would be wonderful to include yours.

The one requirement is that it be mailed on 9/11/06

When your art piece is ready it can be scanned or photographed and added to a flickr album, your blog, etc, Then we'd love to see it, and it would be great if you would go the comment area below and add the URL where we can find it.

Bonus: If you add an image to your blog and send a trackback to the URL listed below ( see where it says trackback: http://www.typepad.com/t/trackback/5750418 ) your entry will appear right here below this entry.

Your creation can be mailed to: Remember September
P.O. Box 793 Katonah, NY 10536 USA

Documentation to all (randomly chosen entrants receive a CD with all
images, all others receive an 11″x 17″ color poster of selected
entries)

On 9-11-06 Bloggers all over the world will also honor the 2,996 victims in a personal tribute that you can read about here.

The quotes are taken from the BIAM's website and are missing something in the way of language.

But what's clear is that they do begin a journey closer to the
slippery slope by calling themselves a "bank" and regulating of the Art

Yet there have to be some regulations, don't there?

And, on the other hand, there are blood banks and sperm banks so . . .

It's Tuesday, So Try Doing One More Thing

Try It Tuesday is a website that sponsors the idea of setting aside at least part of every Tuesday to do a project that they explain each week. Illustration Friday, Inspire Me Thursday and now Tuesdays are tempting me too....

Try It Tuesday is a website that sponsors the idea of setting aside at least part of every Tuesday to do a project that they explain each week.

Illustration Friday, Inspire Me Thursday and now Tuesdays are tempting me too. So many ideas and so little time!

I thought that was a cool idea until I started realizing that
priorities start to get lost at some point when we starting adding more
and more things to the "to do" list.

The upside of Try It Tuesday is that you could do something in a new way or learn something new.

But it doesn't look like something you could take a half hour to play
with between the vet's appointment and the conference call and doing
some marketing for yourself and getting that proposal out to the client
from Buffalo.

And I couldn't commit this chunk of time to do it every Tuesday - especially on Tuesday specifically.

For me Illustration Friday works better because it keeps the whole thing relatively simple . . .

The illustration (or doodle or whatever) that you do on the theme
of the day can take five minutes - or a collage could take an hour.

Well
OK so the art forms I do often takes days, which is why I do
Illustration Friday only every other week or so. And I can normally
submit something by Sunday or Monday - or Tuesday - and there's no
pressure about when you submit it.

I'm sure all the participants who do the more involved project kinds
of web activities aren't retired - or independently wealthy - but I
don't think I could do the Tuesday sort of things and continue to keep
my professional life going.

People who participate or who have tried it are enthusiastically
encouraged to tell us about their experience because what works for one
of us doesn't necessarily do so for the next guy, but it'd be great to
hear about what you found.

Does anyone have any experience with Try It Tuesday,

Have you ever done Inspire Me Thursday?

How about Illustration Friday?

Do you enjoy participating in any of them?

How / What / Why

What kind of time do you think people who participate would need to plan to spend doing the activities?

Do you feel that it's necessary to participate every week to get the most out of it?

Do you participate to:

learn something new -

or to get new ideas -

or for
the challenge -

or to get exposure for your work -

to network with other artists working at your or other levels -

because the Tuesday event offers prizes -

or for some other
reason?

As a result of participating have you gotten any attention (readership, web visitors, clients, email, etc) for what you do?

The Bottom Line

How do you balance things that you already are important to you career
and family-wise with these neat ideas and websites that you discover?

And are there other things like this that you participate in and would like to share with us?

Hundreds of readers await your comments - I hope you'll share some thoughts and experiences.
