Jeffrey Steele Announces 5th Annual Benefit Show:

Jeffrey Steele and Friends 5th Annual benefit show is set for March 13th, 2012 at the newly renovated Franklin Theatre in Franklin, Tenn. GAC’s Storme Warren will play host at the event, and performers include Pearl Heart and Chris Janson, with more to be announced.

Proceeds will benefit the Alex LeVasseur Fund of the Community Foundation of Tennessee, which supports youth programs. The event will also be partnering with Clean Break, which promotes sobriety on high school and college campuses.

Aaron Tippin Returns From His 10th Trip Overseas:

Aaron Tippin returned to his home in Tennessee after spending Thanksgiving in Afghanistan, as part of a 10-day tour there. He traveled with Stars for Stripes, a nonprofit organization.

“Once again, our guys and gals have demonstrated that they are the best and most professional warriors on the face of the planet!”

For the past 10 years Aaron has traveled overseas with the Stars For Stripes organization. Stars For Stripes is dedicated to providing quality celebrity entertainment to internationally deployed U.S. military forces.

After his performance at Forward Operating Base Spin Boldak, Afghanistan, country music star Aaron Tippin performs push-ups as members of the 2nd Squadron, 38th Cavalry Regiment, apply the honorary spurs to his boots. A tradition within the Army Cavalry, spurs are given to soldiers within the unit who have been to combat.

Rascal Flatts to Party it Up With Norwegian Cruise Lines:

Norwegian Cruise Line announced Gary, Jay and Joe Don of Rascal Flatts will perform on the 2,018-passenger Norwegian Spirit on March 2 when the ship is docked in Cozumel, Mexico.

The Norwegian Spirit will be in Cozumel as part of a seven-night Western Caribbean sailing out of New Orleans that begins on Feb. 26.

Norwegian says radio stations in more than 20 top U.S. and Canadian markets will hold on-air contests over the next several weeks to give away cabins on the sailing that come with tickets to the concert and an invitation to a meet-and-greet with the band.

The line says it also will be selling tickets to the concert to passengers on the Feb. 26 sailing. A VIP ticket package that includes a private cocktail reception and photo with the band will cost $150 per person. Standard tickets will cost $50 per person.

The concert will take place in the Norwegian Spirit’s 899-seat Stardust Theater.

In addition to Cozumel, the Norwegian Spirit’s Western Caribbean itinerary includes calls in Costa Maya, Mexico; Belize City, Belize; and Roatan, Honduras. The line says it has a limited number of ocean-view cabins still available on the Feb. 26 sailing starting at $549 per person; balcony cabins are available starting at $879 per person.

Josh Turner Set to Release New Music in 2012:

Josh Turner is scheduled to release “Time Is Love,” the debut single from his yet-to-be-titled fifth MCA Nashville album. “Time Is Love,” written by Tom Shapiro, Tony Martin and Mark Nesler, will go for radio adds on Jan. 9.

The new single will be available at iTunes this Tuesday, Dec. 20.

“This song grabbed me from the first listen because it has such an infectious melody and lyrically it really tells a message that I have been wanting to say for a long time,” he says. “It’s not about quality time but quantity time and taking the time to get to know the person better and develop a relationship with that person.”

Turner, one of the format’s most consistent hit makers, has a knack for choosing some of country music’s hottest and most popular songs. “All Over Me,” the second single from his latest album Haywire, was chosen as BMI’s 2011 “Song of the Year” and was one of ASCAP’s “Top Five Most Played Songs” of 2011. His previous single, the 4-week #1 hit “Why Don’t We Just Dance,” was the Most Played Song of the Year for 2010, according to Mediabase.

The South Carolina native has four #1 singles (“Your Man,” “Would You Go With Me,” “Why Don’t We Just Dance,” “All Over Me”), sold over 5 million albums and been nominated for two Grammy awards as well as numerous award nominations from the Country Music Association, Academy of Country Music, Country Music Television and the American Country Awards.

Brad Paisley, Vince Gill, and Keith Urban will pay tribute to Country Music Hall of Fame member and former CMA Entertainer of the Year Glen Campbell during “The 45th Annual CMA Awards.” The three guitar virtuosos’ performance saluting the legendary singer/musician will be a highlight of “Country Music’s Biggest Night(tm).”

Campbell was named both CMA Entertainer and Male Vocalist of the Year in 1968, and was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2005. The legendary performer has sold more than 45 million albums and recorded such classic hits as “Wichita Lineman,” “Gentle On My Mind,” “Galveston,” “By the Time I Get to Phoenix,” “Southern Nights,” and “Rhinestone Cowboy.” As a musician, Campbell was part of the much-heralded Wrecking Crew that performed on a variety of artists’ albums. His guitar prowess is featured on the Beach Boys’ seminal album Pet Sounds and on Frank Sinatra’s megahit “Strangers in the Night,” among others. He acted alongside John Wayne in the movie “True Grit,” and hosted “The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour” on television from 1968-1972. Earlier this year, Campbell announced he had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. He is in the midst of his successful Goodbye Tour after releasing his final album, the critically-acclaimed Ghost on the Canvas.

“The 45th Annual CMA Awards,” hosted by Paisley and Carrie Underwood, airs live from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Wednesday, November 9th on ABC.

American Country Awards Performers Announced:

Co-hosts Trace Adkins and Kristin Chenoweth, along with country music’s Blake Shelton, Pistol Annies, Thompson Square, Eli Young Band and The Band Perry are set to perform at the AMERICAN COUNTRY AWARDS (ACA) airing live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas Monday, December 5th (8:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) on FOX.

The two-hour event will also feature appearances by Lauren Alaina, Rachel Bilson, Miranda Lambert, Scotty McCreery and the men of “Pawn Stars” (Richard Harrison, Rick Harrison, Corey Harrison and Austin Russell). Additional performers and presenters will be announced soon.

Fans of Trace Adkins and Richard Petty will have the chance to see the BC Powder spokesman and the Goody’s Powder spokesman give each other another headache with the release of a new “Painful Moments” video.

The video, “Behind the Wheel,” features Petty challenging Adkins to get behind the wheel for Richard Petty Motorsports (RPM). Adkins, a longtime NASCAR fan, is excited about the chance to join the RPM team and drive Petty’s number 43 car. Little does Adkins know, Petty has something else in mind for Adkins to drive. Let’s just say, no pit crew needed.

“Behind the Wheel” is one of several “Painful Moments” videos released on the BC Powder and Goody’s Powder Facebook pages as part of the BC and Goody’s ‘Pick A Powder’ campaign. The campaign, which launched in the summer of 2010, started as a friendly “rivalry” to determine who – between Adkins and Petty – experiences the toughest pain. The rivalry plays off the fierce and generational loyalty users have to either BC or Goody’s. With the new video, Adkins and Petty are continuing their rivalry by interacting in each other’s worlds to show the effectiveness of using BC and Goody’s to get rid of headaches fast.

Sugarland Pays Tribute to the Fallen in Indiana:

This past Friday night, Sugarland once again took to the stage in Indiana. This time, instead of a massive outdoor festival vibe, the show held a solemn overtone inside the Conseco Fieldhouse. The audience were folks who will forever be changed from witnessing people’s lives stolen as the stage suddenly collapsed just 11 weeks ago at the Indiana State fair. The audience wasn’t the only thing changed that day, Sugarland was supposed to take the stage…

“You are different, and we are different,” Sugarland vocalist Jennifer Nettles told the capacity crowd estimated at 18,000. “We’re all changed by what happened then. But we are going to try to give you the best show that we can.”

For 90 minutes, the audience and the act were “one.”

They seemed to be very connected with the people in the audience,” Miller said. “An emotional connection, almost like we’re extended family now.”

For many folks, this brought closure to their grief. Prior to the show, many gathered to share stories of that tragic day with people who were there, and who would understand.

“There was nobody else around who had been here,” said Yvonne, who on Friday wore a Sugarland T-shirt purchased at the fair. “Nobody understood what we had gone through. I think being around people tonight and knowing they’re OK and trying to celebrate — that will heal.”

Tracy Lawrence Wins with “Saturday in the South”:

Tracy Lawrence is on a winning streak these days with his song “Saturday In The South.” On the heels of Fox Sports South Network adapting the song for it’s college football theme earlier in the year, CBS Sports Network has just selected the song for their College SEC Football telecasts.

Each week during the CBS sports telecasts of SEC football, Lawrence’s “Saturday In The South” is slated be part of an LG Sponsored vignette series that highlights the passion on and off the field during the game.

On Saturday (10/22), Lawrence took time to soak in a little “Saturday In The South” of his own by attending the LSU vs. Auburn game to perform for the CBS Sports telecast. CBS Sports filmed his performance with plans to use the video of song in future campaigns on various platforms including CBS Sports and CBS Sports Network websites. In addition, Saturday’s entire performance was made available online at the networks website during the game.

During the game, Lawrence had the opportunity to visit with CBS Sports commentators Verne Lunquist, Gary Danielson and CBS producer Craig Silver to celebrate the new relationship with the network.

“I am excited that CBS Sports has chosen “Saturday In The South” to be part of their telecasts,” says Tracy Lawrence. “It‘s great to see Country music being utilized in several football campaigns this year and I’m proud to be part of it.”

As sweet as Taylor Swift is, I wouldn’t wanna tick her off for anything. According to TMZ, Taylor is contemplating suing a website over posting a scandalise nude photo and falsely identifying sweet Taylor as the subject. Celebrity Jihad posted a picture of a woman resembling Taylor showing her “goods” to the world under the title “Taylor Swift Topless Private Pic Leaked?”

Swift’s lawyers demanded the photo of the topless woman who bared “some” resemblance” to Taylor be removed immediately stating “false pornographic images and false ‘news.”

Now before all of you Taylor haters jump all over this…realize that if this photo had indeed been of Taylor, TMZ and everyone else would have posted it already. But, the “resemblance” must have been pretty loose because it didn’t leak too far. If I were the folks over at Celebrity Jihad, I would be shakin in my boots, cuz Taylor takes her squeaky clean image pretty seriously. Maybe if she takes them to the cleaners, it will clean up their act.

Country’s resident badass chick and recent Billboard cover star Miranda Lambert is coming up on a big week. On Tuesday (11-1-11), she’ll release Four the Record — her (you guessed it) fourth record — hot on the heels of the debut of her gal-pal trio, Pistol Annies. So what better day for Ms. Lambert to join Billboard for one of their Live Q&As?

The same day, Billboard.com’s country music blog — titled The 615, in a nod to Nashville — launches, Lambert will swing by Billboard HQ at 4pm ET on Tuesday, November 1st. Miranda will dish on “Four the Record” and Pistol Annies’ “Hell on Heels” debut, as well as answer YOUR Twitter questions live on air. On Friday evening, Taylor Swift continued on her Wonderstruck publicity tour in her home town. Fans gathered at the Belk department store in Franklin, TN to catch a glimpse of Taylor. The lucky few who were able to purchase a special Wonderstruck package were granted the opportunity to meet and mingle with the starlet.

Thompson Square Featured in USA Weekend’s “Who’s Hot in Hollywood”:

Thompson Square is featured as the lead item in USA Weekend’s “Who’s Hot In Hollywood” this weekend. The “Who’s Hot in Hollywood” item is part of USA Weekend’s popular weekly “Who’s News” column. The item highlights Thompson Square’s two 2011 CMA Award nominations for Vocal Duo of the Year and New Artist of the Year. Keifer and Shawna Thompson also discuss their #1 “Are You Going To Kiss Me Or Not,” as well as their first kiss.

The “Who’s Hot in Hollywood” item comes at a good time – Thompson Square was in LA last night, opening for Jason Aldean on his My Kinda Party 2011 Tour” at the Gibson Amphitheatre.

Thompson Square will also perform on the 45th Annual CMA Awards, Wednesday, Nov. 9th, live on ABC from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena.
