This is an experimental metal that I composed recently. Using a Garageband, Amplitube 3, and Ezdrummer, and my latest collection Les Paul Traditional 1960 Zebra

Recorded this in early 2000. Back then I was using a Rocktron Taboo Artist (I'm not sure if it's discontinued) for this demo. A preamp with multiple guitar effects. It really sounds good and warm, unfortunately it doesn't sound "right" for this demo. It was quite bulky and a little bit heavy too. The expression pedal can be detached, if you decide not to use it. In my opinion it's one of the best preamp I've used, seriously!

Biggest "sins" I've made was to sell it. I was a broke back then. Sold off my Fender Stratocaster too. Well I can't turn back the time. For this demo Paul played his Fender Strat and I was playing my Gibson Studio. These two axes are a real deal. Paul programmed the drums using a Playstation1, I can't recalled what it was. Though the drum sounds crap, I think we were both happy. We make do with what we have. Thanks for listening.

This is a heavy metal music. I'm blending two styles of playing, a guitar and a Sitar. Again I'm not a Sitar player. So all those Sitar player please excuse me.

I named this instrumental Raka which mean Moon (Indian Sanskrit)

This instrumental has got no link nor story with the moon, I just like the name Raka. I was totally out of idea. But I knew I wanted it to be named after an Indian word, and I want it simple to be remembered. So I did some "research" and here it is, Raka. If u have any comments please note it down here. Using a music software Amplitube 3, I tried to create a Sitar sound, though it doesn't sounds close to what I wanted. It's an experimental music. I tried to blend two musical instrument between a guitar and a sitar. Creating an Indian musical styles is a big challenge for me. I have never learn the styles of playing sitar. I do hope you enjoy listening to it. Thanks

This guitar instrumental was recorded in the early 2000's. I was then using a Rocktron Taboo Artist and Gibson. Rocktron Taboo Artist is great preamp. Not sure if it's still in production. Warm tone. I recorded it direct to a PC. No audio interface.

I recorded this with my Kramer on Garageband, the most simplest and easiest DAW on this planet. I used Amplitube 3, Miroslav Philharmonik for string section, Ezdrummer (loops), Apple bass amp simulator. These music composing software are user friendly. Sound quality are definitely good in my opinion.

This is a jamming. Nothing fancy. Raw and unedited. Guitar string were worn out. Super bloody lazy to get it change. Happy listening. Thanks.

Here’s another demo, I used Miroslav Philharmonik, Drumkit From Hell (Toontrack), Amplitube Metal, Ampeg Bass and Garageband. No other effects eg. reverb, eq compressor were used. Sorry for the drum section. Its monotonous as I was too lazy to be more creative. I add a distorted drum loop to it. I think it’s sounds cool, maybe not. It’s just an experimentation. No harm trying.

Using Miroslav Philharmonik, Superior Drummer, Ampeg, Amplitube Metal on Garageband. I prefer recording my track on garageband as it is simple to use, less headache to be honest.

The demo quality is not really good compared to the rest. Im thinking of redo this track again when Im ready. I hope you enjoy this. Thanks

This time I’m using the preset Cello Concerto from Miroslav Philharmonik.
It has the dynamic sound and control. Bright tone and I don’t do any Eq or compress for all my demo as I wanted to share with you the “original” sound just in case you are wondering how it really sounds like.
It took me sometime to come up with an idea for this demo. I’m not a classical trained nor involve in any orchestra. Im a guitar player. Most of my composition are hard rock, heavy metal. I intend to upload more originals. If you are into heavy metal, check out more often. For this demo I used East West Quantum Leap Silver (EWQL the cheapest version) for the strings, drums, others are from Garageband sound sample which is pretty good. The strings sound is awesome in my opinion. It’s warmth. No compression no equalizer used. This demo you are listening to is the “actual” sound sample. I’m still at the learning stage, so there are many area that need to be explore. I’m still in the experimentation stage. I’ve heard many good players/composers on youtube. Too many of them actually. They can really make the best out of it. As of now I own two orchestra softwares EWQL and Miroslav Philharmonik. Both are good in my opinion. There are too many softwares around. It’s getting better and better. I’m thinking of getting Garritan Personal Orchestra. I really have to save up. The reason is I’m in love with the Stradivari Violin. It sound so real. Here’s another demo I wrote in mid January 10, when I got my first EWQL. I waited patiently for almost 2-3weeks for this stuff to be delivered. Once it arrived, I immediately installed and play right away. I was messing with one of the instruments, it sounds good, that I thought of composing a theme with it, but I was too “busy” with my new stuff. In the end, I decided to go on with my composing. I have the lines, and I wanted to try out on doing a theme, but I wasn’t sure how it should sounds like. The idea of this demo came from the James Bond movies, Casino Royale. This is my version of a James Bond theme, if not, part of a scenes. You may laugh at it, but everyone have their own unique way of expressing.

No drum loops. No mixing nor any tweaking. It’s totally raw.

Here is another short instrumental that I composed a few weeks ago. The genre is rock symphony. I don’t do much tweaking for individual instruments. I played and programmed all instruments except for drum. I used loops. Most of the drum loops are great. A lot of versatility to suits your genre. You can edit the drum loop too. For this demo I used Garageband (super user friendly) Philharmonik Miroslav (Orchestra Instruments), Ik Multimedia (Ampeg SVX for Bass), Toontrack (Drumkit from Hell)

There are no guitar track for this demo, though some friends suggested I record it. Yeaaah I’m a guitar player, but at some point I don’t want to be associate with guitar, when it come to music composing. Just want to be different from my old self. I like orchestra music and i got inspired to write it my way (I don’t have any formal lesson on orchestration). I don’t have any preferences when it come to music, it doesn’t really matter who the composer is, so long the presentation / interpretation / expression of the music sounds good. So here’s my presentation to you.
