Have you ever been to ER? Sadly, I have been and it's the most chaotically organized place. When you are in the Emergency Room, you feel there are so many sick people in the world. But the moment you step out of the hospital, world seems all hale and hearty. That's surely not the case. A closer look at the people around you would narrate a different story. Someone had a tragic accident and <img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/MusicInWords/~4/Cv6uDjg-cBk" height="1" width="1"/>

<georss:box>40.837914500000004 -74.12415459999997 40.9339505 -73.96279259999997</georss:box>

To You, Mom

Today I missed you. When the maid was cleaning the kitchen, I wanted to say your exact words, 'Do the glasses first.' I realized how much I behave like you. Those little habits that irked me while growing up are a part of me now. Some say I am your replica. I feel proud to hear that but at the same time I know I am not half as good as you are.

No rent, no boring office routine and a secure source of income, close to your family and friends. Someone said

Look for greener pastures

Chase it, dream high

Leave the barren highlands

You're an eagle

Just fly...

I did what they said

I left my folks

Earned enough bread

Slogged day in, day out

Yesterday someone else asked -

Are you happy?

Enough dime, perfect home

I smiled, I thought

Living in the prairie

My dreams are lost

Merrier times, I profess

Tree of Prosperity

Search, swirl, dive with zero fear,

We collect twigs and grass,

Flying miles everyday,

We return to the same path.

Every tiny bit of sweat,

Every cell of tired feet,

Sings a soft lullaby,

On glowing signs of our street.

Blessed under the roof,

With family sitting by our side,

Your body is a cup,

Hot, cold, strong or light.

Sugar, tea, milk

Or plain water with ice.

What it holds inside,

...is what you are.

A teacher, doctor, engineer,

May be a movie star.

Nod in agreement,

Or shake your head strong.

We all love fancy cups,

But we know where it belongs.

Pretty outside attracts us,

Our heart skips a beat or two.

But we never hold a cup longer,

After chasing my cousins on a sultry summer day, I fell into my grandmother’s lap. She stroked her fingers into my hair and it felt heavenly. She unclipped my hair and I rested my little head close to her bosom. As she blew air on my scalp and with the sweat beads evaporating, summer turned into spring. ‘You have beautiful hair,’ she said and started braiding my hair. I danced with the wind,

Not cared for a dime,

Lived under your shadow,

When the sun shined.

Like a princess every day,

I ordered this and that,

Sang my stupid tales again and again,

You gave me a smile and a pat.

The day search for the ‘prince’ ended,

You gave me right away,

Not thinking twice Dad,

That I’ll miss you every day.

You gave your piece of heart,

Why don’t we write more about the strength of women and glorify her? Neither a million bucks,

Nor the gold in my safe.

Caresses my jittery thoughts,

Reassures my dwindling faith.

Hungry mind often wanders away,

Quelling beliefs, finding logic.

Penning looming thoughts calms the feud.

Writing serves my appetite, Writing is my food.

People mocked me, they shunned me,

I felt naked, without clothes.

Sewing pride inch by inch,

Somewhere from north-east,

Can't be sure when.

Love came like a strong wind,

And hit Ben.

Unlike the colors of fall,

It was black and white.

Near the patio of his house,

Golden rays placed a spotlight.

She wasn't a fairy,

Wasn't a queen,

A girl dressed in black in her teens.

Love, that too at first sight,

Kindled a never ending romance.

I'm no Van Gogh, I'm no Voltaire.

But I want honesty, that's all I care.

It's like a bee sting, you all will agree.

When some trashy post gets 50 comments

and your masterpiece just three.
All that glitters is not gold, behold and contemplate.
'Art' needs honest feedback to stimulate.

This poem has won second prize in 'Divine is You' Contest on BlogAdda.com.

Demure, yet subtly bold,

I tucked my fingers in his hand.

Scintillating winter, scintillating desires,

He better understand.

Camouflaged my sleek body,

I underplayed, I dozed,

I resisted all kinds of fire,

I even slashed down,

Yes, I still get many compliments courtesy you. Barring the accident I had when I was 19, you never troubled me. Sorry for those scars but hope you remember how I took extra care and pampered you with <img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/MusicInWords/~4/VtrA6e_knxk" height="1" width="1"/>
