Been quite busy with a bunch of different projects including the 24HoursofVinyl.comevent that has been going very well. First MIMS Show of 2012 and the year is really starting off nicely, well musically speaking at least. We at MusicIsMySanctuary.com are now entering our 5th year and we’re very happy that the site is still growing, so thank you for being a part of it!

I took an extra week to make show #51 because since I only do the MIMS show once a month I want to absolutely love every track on there. So here it is, this month’s selection of over 30 tracks are some of my best discoveries. Although most of the shows are pretty eclectic in nature, some like this one are heavier on certain themes. The selection generally tends to follow the gigs that i’m playing during those few weeks. So seeing as in October I played a couple of really cool events more of the “beats” side of things I thought I’d share some of those with you.

What started out of very humble beginnings has evolved into the focal point of MusicIsMySanctuary.com. A monthly highlight and recap of my tireless research for those special songs, new and old. Everytime I make a MIMS show I try to showcase the best tracks I’ve discovered and that’s the reason that I only do it once a month; I really want to be passionate about every track on there. Sometimes a show is more electronic, other times more organic or soulful but I believe always has the same amount of awesomeness that deserves to be shared and cherished.

Show #50 will mostly feature new stuff just because I have so many exclusive and unreleased joints to share. Thanks so much for the support these past 4 years. Your feedback give me the energy to keep digging and sharing the treats. Cheers!

Yes, I know it’s been a while since the last “official” podcast. Shit, i’ve even been getting hate mail! “When’s #46 out??!!”… Well, in my defence the last two mixes (the Beats mix and the UK Garage Classics mix) kind of where unofficial shows ok!

So for this one, I thought i’d share my mix that I was asked to do for the Bande À Part show at the Radio-Canada studios (the equivalent of the BBC in Canada). Other than the fact that I love doing radio shows this was a special event for me for personal reasons. I’m actually the fourth person in my family to perform or work at Radio-Canada. My grandmother wrote plays and television shows, my grandfather is a composer and producer and my dad is a musician and composer… so it was a real thrill to play in a place with so much history!

Hope you like the show, I only had an hour to play with, so this is what I chose to play!

I’m really happy to finally be posting this. This summer I was hanging out with the ridiculously talent french producer ONRA after the show we played together. After doing the music nerd talk we realised that we have pretty much the same influences and tastes. So we decided to make a rap tape of some of our favorite teenage years tracks!
