“It is different to our earlier records in that it has an almost professional history. It was recorded by Hadrien Grange (The Shades and Shit Browne) and Manu Guiot (Mick Jagger, Eurythmics, Sid Vicious, Celine Dion, Patrick Bruel etc.) on a Neve desk that was used to mix the 2nd Oasis album. It was mixed by Steve Kravac in Hollywood. Steve Kravac is one of the producers that has defined the american punk sound. He has mixed Blink 182, MXPX, Less than Jake, 7 Seconds, Total Chaos, Tsunami Bombs, Youth Brigade and much more. Allthese cool people for a budget of almost zero. What is the Creative Commons culture like in France?

CC 3 is different in France because they have “misinterpreted it” to mean if someone gets caught sampling, the downloader is the infringer.

The French government sees Jamendo.com as a pirate site. Crazy!

Speaking of France, some of the tracks, such as “no one’s illegal” seem to speak to US problems. Is immigration a perceived problem in France as well?

Why do you use the the license you use?
Josh likes PD, but BY-NC-SA is to fight the capitalists.
moral rights might actually make -NC “useless” in Europe.

What are your ambitions for the project?
Every single day there is a lot going on. Even concerts in California!
Doesn’t think the band could ever be full time. Too old! Too many families!
It’s a mouthpiece.

writing lyrics for commercial pop bands.

CC wasn’t around at first, but netlabels
