Talented Musician/Singer Sarah Jarosz is going places

2011-08-23T13:50:00.004-04:00

Sarah Jarosz is the newest addition to my playlist. Originally from Texas and barely 20, Sara Jorosz is a true musical talent. Her newest album, Follow Me Down, came out on May, 17, 2011 and is full of acoustical songs that show off her singing and playing abilities.I would reccomend this album for a relaxing moment in your life, whether you are stressed out and need a calm break or you have some time to close your eyes and just soak the music in. This does not mean that I find this album in anyway boring, but the vibe is definitely a relaxing one, not something to play at a party or for a long car drive. If you are not a country music lover, stay away from this album. There is definitely a bluegrass element throughout the album, mixed with folk music. If you are a true music fan, you will definitely be adding the talent of Sarah Jorosz to your music library. Maybe put it between Norah Jones, and Florence and the Machine. She plays eight different string instruments, she writes her own songs and her voice is a rhaspy original that has the ability to relax and soothe your mind.Through her songs, you get the feeling that

she is an old soul with something to say, so give her a listen and tell me what you think.

Amy Winehouse could have been one of the greats!

2011-08-19T09:23:00.001-04:00

I know it is a little late to be talking about this, But, I am going to. Amy Winehouse was a great artist. Her Voice was one of a kind and it was real. It saddens me that we loose so many great artists to drugs, booze, pills, or whatever their vice maybe. Did you ever notice that many of the greats have died way before their time? Are they the "Greats" because they died, or were they really what they were hyped up to be?
Amy Winehouse had addictions, I am sure, before she was famous. Her music and her persona catapulted her into fame very quickly. Although she probably would still be an addict had she not been famous, she wouldn't have had all the money to continue fueling them. This Album is something that all music lover's should have in their library. Put it right next to Nirvana, The Doors, The Beatles,Lynrd Skynrd, etc.
There will never be another album like this and their will never be another Amy Winehouse, may she rest in Rock Heaven.

Music is in Adele's Soul and my MP3 Player

2011-08-18T21:36:00.002-04:00

Adele is one of my favorites. Her voice is full of soul and is in no way computer generated. You will not see alot of reviews on this page with artists who can not hold their own when they are given a microphone that is on and told to sing. Adele's talent is real and there isn't one song on her new CD that doesn't speak to me in one way or another. She got her start on My Space, thanks to some friends posting her songs. Record labels got very interested in what they were hearing and in 2006 she received offers from quite a few record labels.America hadn't really caught on until a few years later but she has more than proved herself. She makes no excuses for who she is and writes songs that mean something to her and it shows in every song. She is a talent that will be sticking around for a long time. This Album is a must for any true music lovers out there.
