Okey dokey, for a while I was searching for the same thing and finally found 3 different types of software you can use to download ANY music ringtone to your cell phone for all major carriers, including T-mobile.

First there’s ToneThis, which is a pretty cool software you can download for FREE, no spam, no viruses or anything. As long as you have the internet on your phone, then you’re good to go. I provided the link below.

Second there’s Ringtone Media Studio, which is another software that costs $ 20. However, you can download the free trial version and make up to 5 free real music ringtones. The quality is EXCELLENT. I like that one best. With this software you use a USB cable, Bluetooth, or infrared-something to transfer the ringtones to your phone. I have a USB cable, so that works best for me.

Third and last is Phone Sherpa, which is a website you can use to make your own music ringtones, but only if you earn credits. Learn more about it at the site. It’s pretty good, the quality’s pretty good…etc.

I suggest you try ToneThis first, you’ll like it. Just make sure you have the internet on your phone.

I don’t know how to change the general text tone for everyone, which I agree is annoying. I was actually looking for a way to do that myself when I saw this. However, it is possible to change the text tone for each individual person (tedious and annoying, but doable). To change the text tone for each individual contact 1) unlock the phone, and click the contacts button on the bottom of the touch screen. 2) Select the contact you want to set a text tone for and click edit. 3) Now click the add more fields button and scroll through until you find the one titled message tone click the check box and add it. 4) Once you add this when you go back you can finally set a text tone for that one contact. And as always, make sure you save. To do this for each contact repeat steps 2-4 until you can’t stand it anymore. Good luck.

If u have it with alltel, you can’t. They blocked the capability to set audio files as ringtones

send the sound to yourself in a picture message, then when you recieve it, go to options, and there should be an option “save as ringtone”
