Commentary - Miley Cyrus

I always get asked, actually told, who I should feature next in the gallery. The answer is a tough one because I don't want the gallery to be collections of just anyone and everyone. I've often stated that the basic criteria for my selections is that 1: I listen to the artists music myself, 2: They're talented musically and 3: When I watch them perform I can see in their eyes flashes of their true selves that I'd like to try and capture.

As you can see I have very diverse tastes in music among the female vocalist genre.

But I do admit that this leaves out a lot of very talented performers. Most notably these days is Miley Cyrus. For those who have taken the time to see through the hype, Miley does have real talent. If you don't think so then try and get up on stage and let yourself go like she does. While I don't think she is an amazing singer (yet), she does have musical talent and is very good at staying within herself. In short, I like her, but before I feature her in the gallery I really would like to hear more of her music as she matures over time, and when she's older, her eyes should reveal a lot of stories in those interim flashes.

To Miley I say, keep at it. To visitors to the gallery I say, patience, you just might see her here yet.

Until then, I've been listening to my Nora Jones CD...

I’m definitely excited about finishing Lisa Kelly’s collection, I think it came out great. I’m starting to get comments on how I’ve picked the artists for the gallery. I know they are VERY diverse. The explanation is simple. I love all types of music, I listen to all of these artists on a regular basis, and I think they all have that combination of great musical talents and unique beauty. Now if I could just get the chance to meet some of them!!! Let's see, Bianca Ryan, Carrie Underwood, Joss Stone, Beyonce, Fergie, Katharine McPhee, Diana Krall, Lisa Kelly (Celtic Woman) and Taylor Swift...I wonder who's next? Always love to hear what you think of course, but for now, I hope really enjoy Lisa's collection! - Nick

Hi everyone, I wanted to take the time to create the first of several more collections for the artists I already have in the gallery. Since I started with Bianca, I wanted to create another of her first. I had to wait awhile though because I wanted to capture something new about her. The first collection featured her as a brand new artist, this collection is really about the start of the next phase of what should be a long long career. She really is a great talent. Enjoy! - Nick

It was a great thrill to know that Bianca Ryan herself visited the gallery yesterday. Needless to say she loved the images, but I had to change the thumbnail to be the one of her in the green dress. That was her favorite! Who am I to argue :) Thanks Bianca!
