Accident of Birth is a heavy metal album released in 1997 by Bruce Dickinson. It was published by Zomba Music. This is the second album made in collaboration with guitarist/producer Roy Z and is therefore much different from Bruce's previous Skunkworks album. It marks Bruce's return to his more melodic style of singing. He was also assisted by another former Iron Maiden member Adrian Smith and the two would later return to the band in early 1999. Thanks to the slightly bigger success of this album, Bruce would work with Roy Z in the future on his solo albums (including his latest, Tyranny of Souls).

Skunkworks Live EP is the name of a live EP album by British heavy metal singer Bruce Dickinson. It was released in Japan only, on October, 1996, through Victor Entertainment. The live performance was filmed in Pamplona and Gerona, Spain on 31 May and 1 June 1996. The backing band, which went under the name "skunkworks", was Alex Dickson on guitars, Chris Dale as bassist, and the drummer Alessandro Elena. The recording was released in a video version also, containing more songs.

Skunkworks is a hard rock album released in 1996 (see 1996 in music) by Bruce Dickinson. Originally, Bruce intended for Skunkworks to be the debut album of a band by the same name. However, the label would not publish the record under any other name than Bruce Dickinson. Consequently the album sounds quite different from Bruce's other solo works. Most songs in this album have the central theme being science and/or related themes. Furthermore, the songs are relatively short, with most running around 3 minutes. The band didn't last and for his next solo project, Accident of Birth, he teamed up again with guitarist Roy Z (from Balls to Picasso). The album name refers to the code name for the military testing program.

Skunkworks es el álbum lanzado en 1996 por Bruce Dickinson. Este disco suena diferente a otros trabajos solistas de Dickinson. Balls to Picasso is a Hard rock album released in 1994 and is the second effort in Bruce Dickinson's solo career and the first released after he had officially left Iron Maiden. This record marked the beginning of Dickinson's collaborations with Roy Z, who would work on many of Dickinson's later albums including Accident of Birth, The Chemical Wedding and Tyranny of Souls. Stylistically it departs from Tattooed Millionaire but is still more traditional-sounding than the follow-up album Skunkworks released in 1996. Later, Dickinson said that he and Roy Z were talked into making the album less heavy than it should have been.

Balls to Picasso es un álbum de heavy metal lanzado en 1994, y es el segundo disco en la carrera como solista de Bruce Dickinson. Fue grabado luego de la salida de Dickinson de la banda Iron Maiden. The album project began when Dickinson was asked to record a song for the fifth Nightmare on Elm Street movie, which became the song called "Bring your Daughter...to the Slaughter". Collaborating with future Iron Maiden guitarist Janick Gers, Dickinson began to make a solo album which was fundamentally different from his works with Iron Maiden, sounding much more rock-oriented. "Bring your Daughter..." was not included on the original album but Iron Maiden later recorded a different version that was included on their 1990 album No Prayer for the Dying, which coincidentally became the band's only number one single to date.

Inicialmente, la idea de Dickinson era grabar un disco que sonara diferente a Iron Maiden, banda en la que se encontraba en ese momento. El guitarrista que participó en el disco fue el ex-Gillan, Janick Gers (que después formaría parte de Iron Maiden). All Hope Is Gone is the fourth studio album by American heavy metal band Slipknot. Released on August 20, 2008 by Roadrunner Records, the album was published in two versions: the standard album in a Compact Disc case and a special edition packaged in a six-fold digipak containing three bonus tracks, a 40 page booklet, and a bonus DVD with a documentary of the album's recording. Preparation for the album began in 2007, while recording started in February 2008 in the band's home state of Iowa. All Hope Is Gone is Slipknot's first studio album since 2004's Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses). Before the album's launch, Slipknot released a series of promotional images and audio samples from the album through various websites. All Hope Is Gone is considered the band's most eclectic-sounding album, incorporating elements from their previous three. All Hope Is Gone includes their "brutal" edge, such as the track "All Hope Is Gone", reminiscent of songs such as "(sic)" from their debut self-titled album; slow burning, "trippy" elements such as "Gehenna", reminiscent of "Skin Ticket" from their second album Iowa; and acoustics ("Snuff") and guitar solos ("Psychosocial"), which were first introduced on Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses).

The band recorded the two-disc album during a 2004–2005 world tour that promoted their third studio album Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses). Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses) is the third studio album by American heavy metal band Slipknot. The album was released on May 25, 2004, through Roadrunner Records, and a special edition, containing a bonus disc, was released on April 12, 2005. It is the band's only album produced by Rick Rubin. Following the band's tour to promote its second album in 2002, speculation regarding the future began. Some band members had already been involved in side projects including Murderdolls, To My Surprise, and the reformation of Stone Sour. However, in 2003, Slipknot moved into The Mansion to work on the album. Initially, the band was unproductive; lead vocalist Corey Taylor was drinking heavily. Nevertheless, they wrote more than enough material for a new album—the band's first to incorporate more traditional, melodic song structures and acoustic guitars.

Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses) es el tercer álbum de estudio de la banda estadounidense de heavy metal Slipknot, lanzado el 25 de mayo de 2004 a través de Roadrunner Records. With much anticipation for the band's second album following on the success of their 1999 self-titled debut, pressures on the band were high. Their relationships with each other suffered and was later described as the darkest time of their career. It was also the first time that guitarist Jim Root had been significantly involved in a Slipknot album due to his joining very late in recording of their debut album, as Root was only featured on two songs from that release. Despite troubles within the band and with Iowa's development, Slipknot promoted it for almost a year.

Slipknot is the debut album by American heavy metal band Slipknot. It was released on June 29, 1999 through Roadrunner Records, after a demo containing a few of the songs had been released in 1998, and was reissued in December 1999 with a slightly altered track listing and mastering, as a result of lawsuit. It was the first release by the band to be produced by Ross Robinson, who sought to refine Slipknot's sound rather than alter the group's musical direction.

Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat. is the first demo album by American heavy metal band Slipknot. Released originally on October 31, 1996, it was limited to production of 1,000 copies. The band originally self-distributed some of these copies, but went on to release the remaining units through -ismist Recordings in 1997. Due to its limited release, the album has become much sought by fans since Slipknot's rise in fame.

Hypnotize is the fifth album by System of a Down and the second half of the Mezmerize/Hypnotize double album. It was released on November 22, 2005, six months after the release of companion album Mezmerize. Mezmerize and Hypnotize both debut at number #1 on the Billboard chart making the band one of the few to achieve this with two albums on the same year. Hypnotize would be System of a Down's last studio album before their four year hiatus from August 2006 to November 2010.

Fate of Norns is the fifth full-length studio album by the Swedish death metal band Amon Amarth. It was released on September 6, 2004 through Metal Blade Records. This album continued their slower, heavier sound which started on the previous album Versus the World. Before Fate of Norns was officially released by Metal Blade, promo copies were distributed with CD-ROM extras including pictures, biographies, sheets and logos. The album was released in conventional LP format as well as a limited digipak edition. The latter includes a live bonus DVD, Amon Amarth Live at Grand Rokk, which features live recordings and three-camera footage of a live performance in Reykjavík, Iceland on March 5, 2004. "The Pursuit of Vikings" was also made into a music video.

Versus the World is the fourth full-length studio album by the Swedish death metal band Amon Amarth, released on November 18, 2002 by Metal Blade Records. It was also released with a bonus disc featuring the Sorrow Throughout the Nine Worlds EP as well as their two demos; Thor Arise, The Arrival of the Fimbul Winter (the first being unreleased before) and a German version of "Victorious March" entitled "Siegreicher Marsch" which was on Once Sent from the Golden Hall. The song "Death in Fire" was made into a music video. Versus the World was the first Amon Amarth album to showcase a more midpaced and heavy sound, unlike their earlier faster works. A deluxe edition was released in 2009 that featured the album remastered by Jens Bogren, and a bonus cd of the original album played live in its entirety in Bochum, Germany.
