The Breakfast Jam

He helped win a world war but Churchill never learnt the real reason for breaking fast; a human hobby we complete each and every day till we leave this mortal coil. Aside from nourishing our sexy bodies, breakfast provides an excellent launchpad to daily audio joy; a start to your musical metabolism if you will. Our inspiration to write this article was a tune by Narch – Breakfast Loop Jam a cunning caffeine induced electrical dirge. It made us finger pop.

So with that shot of aural espresso lets formulate a breakfast plan of hot tropical loops, rashers of drumstep boogaloo and a large dollop of electro jam. As with anything tasty, the different ingredients of a spunky musica breakfast have to be hot and ready to munch. Let’s start these with conveniently popular breakfast classics and turn them into chunky sugar saturated carbohydrate based funk.

Full English

Cemented into every english mans head is the rational that after a hard night knocking back the beers, the solution to morning nausea is THE FULL ENGLISH. Get your teeth into these greasy tunes and ask for extra bacon, hash browns and 2 eggs.

Continental

More refined than its anglais counter part, the continental dawn is based more around foods that you wouldn’t think are too palitable first thing. But gonzo logic wins so you’ll find here the best the continent has to offer from stinky sauerkraut and bierweist to la croissant and jus d’orange. Cue parisian glitchyness and dutch anarchy…

The Tropico

Literally a continent away we invented this breakfast beacuse we want to bring you some hot sweaty tropical beats. Lets pretend its a plate full of the best salsa, moombahton and cumbia that latin america has to offer finished of with some sweet water melon and chicken rice.

Captain Crunch

Its a fact that basically every cereal on any supermarket shelf is the result of marketing directors dressing up sugar and sweeteners by putting it in a colourful box and calling it ‘fun’. The same could be said for alot of artists. The best among them grasp the overreality of the music they produce and the saccarine sound of their beats. We the listeners are dumb and we love the sugar rush.

Americano

Finally the best heart stoppers you can get stateside. As written in the declaration of independance:

It is every americans right to destroy their bodies with every artery blocking and obesity producing commodity available.

The americans don’t stop eating until they split their intestinal walls and so it should be musically. So here’s our pick of the USA’s most hedonistic, lurid and luxuriant sound poison we could find, and boy does it taste good. God Bless fat americans.

And so we finish. Now go finish off your stewed cup of tea and go collect your dole money.

Feed Me Now!

So having lived off of alot of hype over the past few months Feed Me has released some new tracks into the musical atmosphere. Feed Me is primarily a Dubsteppy sort of producer although what we’ve seen from him before seemed to transcend that genre to become something all together more exciting (find ‘Pink Lady’.) So whats the verdict on these new tracks? Well we can sum it up in a short but sweet sentence:

“Most crap one or two good”

Thats how we feel about it. Pretty underwhelmed although the track ‘One click Headshot’ is pretty cool, basically the only one we’d take from ‘Escape from Electric Mountain’.

Of course who are we to decide on your listening titillation! So for that reason we’ve included it all below for you anyway…

Hello… Is It Avesta your looking for?

Way back in 1983, when times were disco and the world was right on, there was a man and a woman. The man was Lionel Richie. The girl was blind. He asked “Hello is it me your looking for?”. Apparently it was. It was romantic. From then on we all loved Lionel Richie.

Fastforward to today. We still love Lionel Richie and he is still a woman pleaser. But his crown has been passed on. Through our series of articles “Hello”, we seek to bring you the defenders of Lionel’s legacy of excellent tunage and soul. Only one thing has changed, now me and you are the cute blind chick trying to be wooed by our guys with afros and tashes (note: some have tashes, some wish they had and some shouldnt have them).

This week we present to you Avesta straight outta Bern, SWITZERLAND. In the words of some wise bearded man “The Swiss. They gave us chocolate and premier banking. Now they give us Avesta.” Smoothly he asks “Hello…is it me your looking for?” Is he? Or is he just a deluded man in a teal sweater?

It would probably be Quincy Jones. We’d just hang out in the studio, making some beats and talking about music, Life, his experiences, etc.

In high school I tried to make my Biology teacher believe that my arm was hurt and that I couldn’t write the exam. The rector and him found out that it was not true. That was almost ten years ago.

Valentino Khan & Will Bailey

Los Angeles music producer and DJ, Valentino Khan first caught our attention when he remixed the entire Watch the Throne album under the moniker, Marketprice. It was packed back to back with huge remixes ranging from dubstep to moombahton, but since then he’s been know just as Valentino Khan. On “Rukus” we find him teaming up with the U.K’s very own Will Bailey to smash out a bouncy moombahton rager that’s been rinsed by every major dj playing the genre. The future looks bright for Valentino, from producing a track off of T.I.’s latest mixtape to doing guest mixes for BBC Asia, he’s got a big sound that’s filling clubs and laptops all over the world!
