Bantham Beach to Burgh Island view

The unspoilt Bantham Beach, looking over to Burgh Island. April 2017.

Had a very pleasant visit here with my niece, Bex and my mum, followed by a fantastic meal at the local pub, just up the road.
This view from the coast path sums up the attraction of the place. A gorgeous, gently-sloping sandy beach, surfing waves, an island and the hotel where Agatha Christie and her social group used to party!

Make the most of it - a developer intends to build here soon :(

English Scenes series A view of the beginning of Autumn in Cornwall and taken in the grounds of the stately home at Mount Edgcumbe in Cremyll, Cornwall.
The picture is of a woodland walk scene where late afternoon sun is flooding through the trees and dappling the autumnal reds and golds with its angled light.
This is a beautiful image in the impressionist tradition, showing a typical English scene at the start of Autumn and bringing with it a sense of peace and serenity.

English Scenes series A great photograph of the prominent rock on the third beach at Bovisand in Devon. The three beaches are a well-kept secret, really only known to the locals and a few well-informed tourists.
Of the three beaches, this one, the third, is the most secluded and anyone who has been here will recognise this particular rock, rising out of the sand as it does. Many, many children have happy memories of playing 'chase' around it or gingerly climbing it, avoiding scrapes (not always successfully) from the sharp barnacles!
