Mark Vincent is WBIS—Washington Bureau of Intelligence and Security. Quinton Mann is staunchly CIA. Mark thinks the CIA is full of dilettantes who leave him and the rest of the WBIS to clean up their messes. Quinn thinks most WBIS agents are sociopathic loose cannons. So they don’t exactly get along.

Of course, just because they don’t like each other doesn't mean they can’t play mind games on each other. Or sleep together. But when an explosion at Mark’s apartment sends Quinn to the morgue to ID a body, he has to reevaluate his position on denial.

I loved this book, they are flawed and at times very funny and I did want to bang their heads together but I couldn't help fall in love with Mark and Quin. I am a fan of Ty and Zane from Abigail Roux's cut and run series now the have serious competition in Mark and Quinton for top alpha male couple I wonder if they would be friends??

Sam Farley grew up hearing stories about his late grandmother’s house in Arcadia, Georgia, but for all his travels, the small town is one place he’s never been. So when he shows up, on foot, in a ferocious storm, he quickly has the locals buzzing: Who is this dark-eyed vagabond, and what does he want with Millie’s old, boarded-up house? Sam never intends to stay long—just long enough to see the house before it’s auctioned off. Then he meets the gorgeous city clerk, Andrea Fleming . . . and gives her a kiss. Now Sam’s torn between his desire for this intoxicating woman and the terrifying prospect of staying in one place. Andrea is undeniably drawn to the brooding journeyman carpenter with his stories of faraway places. But she belongs in Arcadia and is certain that she will be nothing more to Sam than a fling, a way station on the road to all the places he hasn't yet seen. But despite her deep misgivings—and the warnings of everyone around her—Andrea finds herself falling for the wickedly handsome wanderer . . . come what may.Includes a special message from the editor, as well as excerpts from these Loveswept titles: Taking Shots, Along Came Trouble, and Hell on Wheels.

This is a sweet love story that has me interested from page one, I loved Sam and I wanted to learn all about him. The relationship between him and Andy was hot enough to catch the book alight and it did this with out being using overtly sexual language. But nor was it cheesy and that is not easy to achieve but this book manages to be romantic and sexy and one I would recommend to all romance lovers.

One step away from the coveted Vice Presidency of her firm, the last thing Kat Owens needs is the distraction of a man. Her client, Erik Monteague, disagrees. He’s charming, sexy, seductive, and impossible to ignore or refuse. After succumbing to his advances, Kat’s forced to choose between her career and the man she’s fallen for... while knowing even her love might not be enough to save him from self-destructing.

While Erik’s perfectly executed seduction gets Kat into his bed, the end result is more than he bargained for. Having spent the past ten years wallowing in guilt and self-loathing over his fiancée’s tragic death, falling in love is unacceptable. However, Kat’s passionate, loving nature dissolves the carefully constructed walls guarding his heart, forcing him to face his tragic past and make a decision... spend the rest of his life running, or risk being devastated by love again?

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

When Malcolm Kavanagh took his first step toward emotional maturity by declaring his love to Owen Watson, that was just the first chapter in their story. Anyone who’s ever been in love knows that happy endings take a lot more work than that.

One problem: Malcolm has never been in love. He doesn’t know the rules of a relationship and isn’t confident enough to trust that his is real. He learns the ropes by sharing his life and his flat with Owen, but relationship boot camp proves a challenge. Everything is a struggle, from accepting Owen’s low-status job to putting his boyfriend above his personal trainer.

Luckily, Owen knows a little more about relationships, and labors patiently to survive the first six weeks of their life together. From the art galleries of Cambridge to the tawdry majesty of the Dominion theatre, Owen adapts to England while Malcolm adapts to the whole human race. Maybe, if Owen is patient enough and Malcolm learns to give, the two of them can make it past Relationship Armageddon to a real happy ending.

This is book 2 for these 2 and I have to say I loved it, the journey was well worth taking. Malcolm and Owens frustrations in settling into a full time relationship was realistic and at times very funny and well worth reading

Interview with Bella Andre
about her best-selling series, The Sullivans

1. You create characters beautifully and are an absolute master of plot twists. It seems like you could write in almost any genre and do a bang-up job of it. What made you decide to devote your efforts to the romance genre in particular?

Thank you so much for the compliments! I've always been a huge romance fan - I've been reading nearly a book a day since I was a teenager - so it was a natural fit for me when the characters starting appearing in my head one day. :)

2. How did the idea for this interconnected contemporary romance series first come to you? What was your inspiration?

I love the family series that have always been popular in historical romance - like Julia Quinn's Bridgerton series and Nora Roberts MacGregors - and I was also inspired by my husband's large family. It seemed like a natural fit to combine the the funny and sweet family dynamics into an overarching series of sexy contemporary romances with the alpha heroes that I love so much.

3. Everyone seems to have a favorite Sullivan. Now I know this is like asking you to choose between your own children, but who is your favorite? And who's most like you?

I'll have to plead the fifth and pick Mary Sullivan - the family matriarch - as my favorite Sullivan. She's the heart that keeps the family together and I get emotional whenever I write a scene with her. In fact, in COME A LITTLE BIT CLOSER (Smith Sullivan's story), the scene where he calls his mother to ask for love advice is one that so many readers have told me is their absolute favorite scene in any Sullivan book.

As for who is most like me - maybe Sophie Sullivan from I ONLY HAVE EYES FOR YOU. She loves to read (and is a librarian) and when she wants something (in her case: bad boy Jake McCann), she goes for it! Of course, I'm also a lot like Lori Sullivan (aka "Naughty") with her big mouth and constant laughter.

4. In your opinion, what ingredients are needed to make up a good love story? Is life the same as fiction in this respect? Why or why not?

I love to love my characters and when I write a story I need two heroic, nice, good people (and why not gorgeous, too?!) who deserve love and have a lot of love to offer in return, but who are flawed partially because they haven't found that perfect someone who compliments them like no other. I like my fiction to be a little bigger than life - the Sullivans are extraordinarily hot, sensitive and attentive - but at their heart, they're all very real.

5. How has your own love story with your husband informed the Sullivan series? Are there any scenes that are directly taken from your own life?

I have the best husband in the entire world. Sweet, loving, sensitive…and super hot! He's always supported me in everything I've ever done and I think his strength and capability to love is at the core of every hero I write.

With that said, none of the scenes are ever taken directly from my own life. I have a very active imagination. :)

6. Let's pretend for a second that you are a single woman living in the world of the Sullivans, which of the six brothers would you be most likely to fall in love with and why?

Ohhhh, now THAT is a fun fantasy! I would fall in love with each and every single one of them - and do, while I'm writing each of their stories! If I had to pick one, I might have my eye on Marcus (FROM THIS MOMENT ON) - because while all of my Sullivans are sweet, sexy and sensitive - Marcus is the only one with his own endless supply of wine from his winery. And there's just something about the oldest brother…. Then again, Zach Sullivan is such a great combination of cocky and sweet. And Ryan Sullivan has all those muscles. And Gabe is such a hero as a firefighter (and I love his dirty talking between the sheets). And Chase is so sexy and protective. And then there's Jake McCann (who falls in love with Sophie Sullivan) with his tattoo's and big muscles. Not to mention Lori's hero in the upcoming ALWAYS ON MY MIND which will be out this spring. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that Lori's hero just might be the hottest hero I've ever written.

See, what did I tell you earlier? I'm no good at picking just one. So let's just say, yet again, ALL OF THEM!

7. The Sullivans and their beaux have some pretty interesting careers. From photographers and sculptors to professional actors, musicians and ball players all the way to firefighters, librarians and business owners, they lead very exciting lives! What type of research did you have to do to capture these jobs so well? Do you have any interesting research anecdotes to share?

I've written firefighters and athletes in previous series which helped with my firefighter, Gabe (CAN'T HELP FALLING IN LOVE) and my baseball player, Ryan (LET ME BE THE ONE). I also live in Sonoma and have a lot of experience with wine and wineries which was ideal for winery owner Marcus (FROM THIS MOMENT ON) and as a writer I've been blessed to work with many librarians who served as information points for Sophie (I ONLY HAVE EYES FOR YOU.)

For books where I need inspiration, the internet has been amazing and when needed, I also call on the help of professionals. Even though I'd written firefighters before, I still sent all my firefighting scenes to a professional and for Smith's book (COME A LITTLE BIT CLOSER) I sent all the acting-set sequences to a local film producer.

8. I was very touched by the inclusion of Yorkie puppy, Cuddles, and Great Dane rescue, Atlas, in book five, If You Were Mine. Are you a dog person yourself? If you have pets, I'd love to know more about them!

I *love* animals. I had the best time writing the two dogs in IF YOU WERE MINE. They had their own little love story in that book, which pleased me to no end. There's a cat that plays a very important role in ALWAYS ON MY MIND (Lori Sullivan's story, coming Spring 2013). My whole family loves animals, and we've recently adopted a beautiful cat. Or more accurately, the cat has adopted us, smart little minx.

9. The Sullivan series is currently seven volumes long. How many more books do you have planned, and which other family members will get the spotlight in their own books?

Lori's book (ALWAYS ON MY MIND) is up next, and there are 5 Seattle Sullivans who are ready for love - I will start with Rafe Sullivan's book this summer! Plus, I have something *very* special planned for Mary Sullivan, their mother, planned to release for the holidays in 2013.

10. And lastly (for a bit of random fun), what has been the most amazing/ touching/ validating interaction you've had with a fan of your books?

Everyone who has ever written to me on Facebook or Twitter or Goodreads or via email to tell me how much they love my books and that the Sullivans have moved them in some way has touched me. I love my fans, so, so much! I have the very best time in the world writing about my Sullivans… and knowing that I have so many absolutely wonderful people waiting to read them as soon as they're released is a total thrill every single day.
Or, maybe you didn’t get anything good and want to spoil yourself a little with the chance to win that coveted eReader, some major gift cards, or other awesome prizes. Maybe you just need to relax after hurry-scurrying around all season. Well...

Wouldn't it be nice to take a long hot bath or snuggle under your favorite blanket with a great read? Sounds like the perfect day, right? Hey, we can offer you something even better than that.

In fact, we can offer you something seven times better!

For starters, we can offer you up to seven review copies of Bella Andre's New York Times and USA Today best-selling contemporary romance series The Sullivans.

We'll introduce you to—not just one, but—each and every member of the Sullivan family on their quests to find happiness. Even though most of them aren't even really looking for love, it has a way of finding them anyway. These sexy, emotional and funny novels will nurse all your literary and metaphorical desires. You'll laugh and cry right along with the characters, and get hooked into these great stories right from the very first page. They even take place in lovely California, giving you the opportunity to travel by proxy and escape the windy winter doldrums.

What's that you say? The books sound awesome, but you're not sure why you have to join the tour to enjoy their awesomeness? There are so many reasons to sign-up. Since there are seven books (so far) in The Sullivans series and seven that will be taking part in this extraordinarily large tour, let's stay right on theme and discuss seven reasons why you need to join the fun, pronto.

CLICK ME > What are you waiting for? Go sign-up now! <CLICK ME

The perks

Not only will you get to read a great novel—or two, or three, or seven—but you'll also get...

1. The opportunity to network with other bloggers and avid readers.

2. The option to host a guest post, excerpt or interview with best-selling author Bella Andre. This will bring new readers to your blog AND give you content for your blog—what's better, a post you didn't even have to write yourself. If your New Year looks as hectic as mine, having a guest post is almost as good as reading an awesome book... because it means I'll have TIME to READ that great book.

3. The chance to interact directly with the author through a number of social media activities, discussions, and awesome giveaways .

But wait, there's more!

4. Literally, there are more books. If you love The Sullivans, you can find half a dozen more books just waiting for your eager hands and mind. AND REVIEW COPIES ARE AVAILABLE FOR ALL SEVEN! WOWZA!

5. Kick start your New Year's resolution to read more! Plus you get hours of entertainment absolutely free—you may even win something (which makes the deal even sweeter).

6. The Sullivans will make you fall in love. You'll love the writing, the humor, the characters, and the stories. You might even find hope for true love within these pages.

7. If you've ever wished for your own happy ending—heck, even if you've already found it—there's something in each of these novels you'll be able to identify with. We all know life isn't perfect, and the Sullivans know that too. They're so real, reading the book is almost like watching a movie or watching somebody's real life unfold right in front of your eyes.

Did I forget to mention the prizes?

The prizes are ridonkulous. We've got romantic swag baskets, hundreds of dollars gift cards, an iPad Mini, Kindle Fire, Nook Color, AND a Sony eReader to name a few.

Well I guess there's just one more reason to join us on the biggest tour Novel Publicity has ever put together. More books, more bloggers, more buzz and, of course, more prizes!

And if, like me, you don’t really believe that the Mayans had any intention of predicting the end of the world, again like me, you’re looking for good titles to read next. Here is a hodgepodge of interesting and well written. I’ll let you read these for not, but assure you that I plan on having more before month’s end. Happy Holidays!

On a rain-drenched night, a young husband runs to the corner shop - and never returns.

Eighteen years later, his body reappears.

-Reappears, wearing the same clothes, and on the same street from which he went missing.
-Reappears, and is the victim of a hit/run driver.

He looks exactly the same now as when he vanished.

His widow, Jennifer Parkes, is determined to solve this enigma once and for all.

Other bodies are found, all missing eighteen years. None seem to have aged.

On the trail of a vicious killer, Jennifer and homicide detective Neil Lachlan are drawn into a human minefield of deception and terror; into the depths of a mystery that baffles the police and defies logic. Investigating at the forefront of scientific and medical technologies, they confront a threat that is closer than either of them could ever have imagined.

My Review

This very well written, tale is so misdirecting that it allows for a great opportunity to escape. At about 50% or 60% done, the reader will have assumed several different possible scenarios. But you know what they say about assuming; just wait. It "ain't over 'til the plump lady sings!" If you get a thrill out of being so involved in the story you’re reading then there are times that you will be yelling at the characters for doing something you just know they shouldn’t. They will do it anyway and all the while the story builds to a hilltop from which there is only one way down and that is plummeting through crazy turns and dangerous obstruction. Read it and have fun! I sure did.
To Catch a Spinster

My Rating:

LOVED this!

Olivia Blakesley, self-proclaimed spinster extraordinaire, is quite happy with her life. She has her studies and her duties, what need does she have of a husband? With five sisters married she knows the reality does not live up to the promise, and does not need to personally experiment with the state to know she would be ill-suited to it. However, she finds herself envious of at least one aspect of marriage. But to experience the physical side of marriage, one doesn't need a husband, all one needs is the right man...

Nathaniel Jenkins knows his duty. Marry a young girl from a respectable family and father an heir, no matter how cold the endless parade of suitable girls leaves him. But a shocking proposal from a scholarly spinster leaves him wondering if unsuitable is just what he's looking for. Can he convince his spinster that marriage is the greatest experiment of all?

My Review

What a great hardheaded Victorian romance! Yep, I know that doesn't make any sense, but you will only understand that description when you read the book. If you enjoy that period when women were decorative and treated much like children until a strong lady came along to set society on its collective ear, then you must read this offering by Megan Bryce. The characters aren't your usual fare and the circumstances certainly scream a more contemporary attitude than most had in those days. I think it's the combination of a real man as opposed to a gentleman and a real woman as opposed to those frilly and silly girls that were so prevalent at the time. When these two come together such a refreshing story is the only natural result. Please Megan, do it again!

Author: Laura Diamond
Genre: YA Paranormal Romance.
Part of a series: Yes I hope so!
Length: 300
Format: Ebook
ISBN/ASIN: B00AJW1UQM
Publisher: Etopia Press
Release Date: November 2012
Where I got this book: From charisma Media as part of the tour.

Sixteen-year-old Nickie Leone has proof that her missing (presumed dead) father is still alive. Receiving his watch in the mail is the first in a line of clues bringing her closer to discovering his whereabouts. But clues aren’t the only new thing in Nickie’s life. There’s the Memorial Banquet her mother insists she help prepare for, there’s the new kid/hottie, Xavian, and...well, the growth of whiskers and a tail!

Filled with secrets and a new love of tuna fish, Nickie must partner up with Xavian (don’t you know he’s a shapeshifter too?) to rescue her dad before she loses him forever. Oh, and she needs to figure out how to be a cat, too.

My Review

I was really impressed with this book, I was expecting an insipid story that was predictable and that is not what I got. It was billed as if you like twilight your like this and I think this sells the story short as it is a complex and exciting story with a credible love story mixed in.
This really a story about a girls fight to find her missing father and it pulls you right in from the very first page. This might be written for the young adult market but I am a long way from young and I loved it and I don't usually like YA books, I tend to find the language used annoying and juvenile (Yes I know YA books are written for juveniles so the language is going to reflect that) but this one treated the reader as if they had real intelligence and this is what makes this book work for the older market too. There are points in the story where I was on the edge of my seat holding my breathe and just not able to put my Kindle down, and I have to say although I got this book as a ARC as part of a tour i would happily buy this book and recommend it to all those who thought who want a great story that will keep you wanting more and I know this will go on my re-read list as a go to book when I am in a reading slump. This book would get anyone excited about reading again so go read it!!

My Rating:

I really liked this!

Airline Captain Frank Braden is being stalked by unknown assailants who must arrange his death to look like a suicide or an accident before a specific deadline.

Here is a excerpt for you to I hope you enjoy it, dont forget to scroll down for the giveaway too!

It was nine at night, when the FBI agent watching Frank’s house decided to drive down the road to get a cup of coffee. He figured it would take no longer than twenty minutes. Inside the house Nicole made some coffee and gave a cup to Frank to take outside to give to the agent.
Frank went out the front door and looked for the agent’s car. He peered into the darkness and started to cross the street when he heard a voice from the side of the yard.
“I’m back here.”
Frank turned around and walked into the dark beside his house.

“Over here.”
Frank thought the voice now came from the back yard and he continued toward the rear of the house. When he got to the rear yard, Frank still couldn’t see the agent. “Hey, where in the devil are you? I got some hot coffee.”
“I think I saw someone run into the foliage near the lake. You better go back inside where it’s safe while I have a look around.”
“No, I’ll help you search. Wait a minute.” Frank jogged towards the voice that seemed to be closer to the lake now.
Standing in the shadows, John smiled. For whatever reason, whether his victim was a macho know-it-all type or just naive of the danger, many of the men he had killed had swallowed that bait. He also figured from the fax sheet he had received, that the Austin police had taken Frank’s .38-calber revolver. Under the new waiting law, John knew it was impossible for Frank to get another weapon so soon unless his intended victim wasn’t a law-biding citizen. And John was counting on Frank to be a law-abiding sort.
As Frank neared Town Lake, he wished he had brought a flashlight. He couldn’t see the agent at all. So he went toward the shrubbery where he last heard the voice. “Hey, fellow, where are you?” Frank said. He felt foolish that he didn’t know the agent’s name.
“Here, right behind you.”
The voice startled Frank and he whirled around to face a well-built man wearing all black as though he was on a Special Forces recon night team. I’m in trouble, Frank thought, as he looked down the silencer barrel of a 9mm pistol. God, this guy is really good. “Did you kill the agent that was watching me?”
“I wasn’t paid to do that. Now, Frankie boy, let’s me and you take a walk to the shoreline.”

Following an amicable divorce, former stay-at-home dad Scott Mitchell needs to get a job—and a new lifestyle to help him manage his depression, since he lost his Domme along with his marriage. At least one of his problems is solved when finds work at Wilde Publishing. Fulfilling his boss’s needs at the office gives him a productive focus and pays the bills, but becoming a PA to publishing wunderkind Milo Brock isn’t without its trials.

After an injury put an end to his dreams of the NHL, Milo got an education and pursued other interests. At work, he runs Wilde’s sports division. At play, he’s always thought of himself as straight, but his attraction to his new PA casts that into doubt. Luckily a hard life has taught Milo to take things in stride.

Scott and Milo are battling separate lives, ghosts from their pasts, a sister dying of cancer, and a clash of preferences in the bedroom. Scott needs to submit to keep himself balanced; Milo prefers vanilla sex. If they can’t find some middle ground, they’ll lose the support they both desperately need.
Tia Fielding has agreed to give a copy of this great book to 1 lucky Musings of a Bookworm reader!!

My Review

Oh My this is such a sweet book! The journey it takes you on will have you choked with tears and rooting for Milo and Scott to make it work. There are some moments that made me cringe but they are needed for you to be able to get into Scott's head, he is one screwed up bunny. The love you see in the pages of this book will stay with you and have you smiling for a long while to come. My only complaint is that it is so good that I couldn't put it down and ended up with a headache from crying and a little crazy from no sleep because I just didn't want to stop reading! This is a stand alone book and it is also a shining example of quality writing that makes you feel right along with the characters you are reading about. If this is the first book you read from Ms Fielding i can tell you this it wont be your last and you will never be more happy to buy a book!
Most of us have at least one novel in us if only we had the writing skills and desire to share it. And far more folks do than we realize. Of course there are books. But there are also songs written and scrapbooking done that include telling these stories. And let’s not ever forget that grandparent or great uncle or aunt who loves to tell tales of “when we were younger” and everyone in the house turns a careful ear to catch the details. Enjoy life this Thanksgiving season and if for no other reason, give thanks that you are here to be able to give thanks.

Francey's nightmares are a very real cause for concern. So graphic, and so terrifying have they become, that the next one could mean her death. A search for the key to their unraveling leads her straight into the teeth of a web of intrigue so insidious that it has remained undetected for three and a half centuries; whereupon the path stops dead in its tracks at the gravesites of Lady Susan Sebastian and Edward Delaney. What possible connection could Francey have with the seventeenth century star-crossed lovers? And if there is one, how is she to draw the answer from them? This chasm of impossible proportions must be crossed, for only with the resurrection of the dead, and their secrets drawn from deep within their souls, can the little girl be saved.

My Review
This is one of the most delightful stories I've read this year. The characters are believable, real people who are variously interconnected just as in real life. I particularly enjoyed the relationship between the single dad and his daughter, who is the center of the story. The writing is exceptional and the flow just forces a reader's attention to stay focused. While the tale is unique it speaks to almost anyone who would choose to read it. I recommend it as a pleasant escape for a few hours this fall.

My Rating:
It was AMAZING!!

Cedar McLeod lives an ordinary but lonely life, raising her six-year-old daughter Eden on her own while trying to balance the demands of her career and the expectations of her mother. Everything seems normal until the day Eden opens her bedroom door and finds herself half a world away – and then goes missing. Suddenly, Cedar realizes her daughter is anything but normal.

In a desperate search for answers, Cedar tries to track down Eden’s father, who mysteriously disappeared from her life before Eden was born. What she discovers is far beyond anything she could have imagined. As she joins unlikely allies in the hunt for her daughter, Cedar becomes torn between two worlds: the one she thought she knew, and one where ancient myths are real, the stakes are impossibly high, and only the deepest love will survive.

My Review
I think that as these stories are not really my cup o' tea, I have to admit that this one is well written and held my attention. I think the difficulty I have with the entire fay, fairy, leprechaun, magic kingdom genre is that the names and places are impossible to pronounce and almost as hard to keep in mind while reading. And this story has more than a plenty of them from all persuasions. I might read another, I might not. But if you are into this sort of thing, this is as good a title as you will probably find.

My Rating:
I really liked this

Fifteen-year old Alex Cronlord just met the boy of her dreams. Literally. Unfortunately, the dream involved him killing her. When she encounters him at her school the next morning, Alex understandably freaks out – and her mother’s bizarre behavior only makes it worse. What Alex doesn’t realize is that she can see the future – which will get her into a whole lot of trouble.

Across town, FBI Agent Moira McBain and her partner Andy Hall investigate a series of house burnings in Dallas, Texas. When a clue leads them to the Cronlords, Moira discovers a disturbing link between Alex’s family and her own – which opens an old wound Moira has spent years trying to ignore.

Something is rotten in Dallas, Texas – something involving a secret society, children with extraordinary powers, and human-looking creatures who might literally be out of this world ….

Welcome to a different kind of world-wide web.

My Review
This interesting and fairly different tale finds plenty for those who like conspiracy theories and crazy “religious” cults. The focal character is only a teenager when she discovers that her dreams are prophetic and that she is the object of the hunt by more than one group of fringe lunatics. The quick read is entertaining even if a bit far-fetched. Still, it does let the reader escape the doldrums of everyday life for a brief time.

My Rating:
I liked this.
Genre: Suspense Thriller
Part of a series: No
Length: 184 pages
Format: ebook
ISBN/ASIN: 9781477812259
Publisher: Thomas & Mercer
Release Date: December 13th 2010
Where I got this book: ARC from Charisma Media as part of the tour.

When a serial killer murders Sam Sebastian's wife, the New Orleans cop turns bounty hunter to track down the killer and administer justice. Joining him on his quest is FBI agent Cole Davidson, whom Sam soon finds is connected to the killer. As their journey takes them along the vast expanse of the Mississippi River, the investigation reveals that they are searching for a dark and troubled soul. The monster who killed Sam's wife has left a trail of blood in his wake, and it quickly becomes clear that he is adept at taking on other personas, including that of Sam's impromptu partner, Cole.
As they close in on the killer, Sam questions what he might do once they meet face-to-face. Will he be able to keep his emotions in check, or will he eliminate the man who destroyed his life?

My Review

This is a tight well written thriller that peaked my interest and had me wanting to know more from the start. I have to be honest here and say this... I felt as if the story started before we came in, it felt as if we walked in half way through a conversation.
Now call me ghoulish but I would have preferred the story start with the murder so we got a sense of the killer right from the word go. I am sure the story started when it did to add to the mystique of the killer and it did work but it took me longer to get into the story because I just didn't understand some of the dynamic between the characters. But give the book a chance and you will be hooked I guess I am just a bit impatient and want it all and now!

My Rating:

I really liked
Where I got this book: My own e-book collection.

Masters at Arms begins the journey of three men, each on a quest for honor, acceptance, and to ease his unspoken pain. Their paths cross at one of the darkest points in their lives. As they try to come to terms with the aftermath--forging an unbreakable bond--will they ever truly become masters of their own fates? Or would fate become masters of them?

My Review

I both loved and hated this book because it gave me a taste of what is to come. I loved the peek we got at the history of the main characters but I hated that a peek is all we got! I am going to have to buy all the book now because I want to know what happens to everyone. So this book should come with a warning.....
beware the great marketing ploy.. these books will give you just enough to make you want more and then leave you hanging waiting for you to spank your wallet until it opens for you to buy the rest!!

My Rating:
Where I got this book: Was an ARC is now part of my e-book collection.

Beth Venable has seen too much. Witness to a major mob hit, she's placed in protective custody until the trial. But after her third safe house is riddled with bullets, she goes off-grid to save herself. What the FBI can't do, her kinfolk will.

The beautiful but forbidding Appalachian Mountains of Kentucky welcome Beth back, dirt roads and rustic shacks a world apart from L.A. But her homecoming—even her blissful reunion with strong, silent Ryal Walker—is made bittersweet by the fight she's brought to the clan's doorstep. Hidden in a remote cabin with the man she's always wanted, Beth begins to dream of a new life: her old one. But after so long, with such dangers stalking her…impossible.

But love can distill life down to its essence: an elixir of pure hope, nerve—and the will to survive.

My Review the first time I read it
OH my blooming word this is brilliant!!!! It grabbed me from the first chapter and then dragged me on an adventure that was exciting and thrilling and beautiful all at the same time. It would have been very easy to make Beth kin hillbillies with banjo and no teeth, the nearest we got to that was that most of the people living on the ridge were related in some way so cousins marry cousins, but these were just hard working folk who have learn to live a hard and simple life on a mountain. It reminded me a little of a Patrick Swayze film of the same name and I loved that too.

At the end of this book we are promised another one and I for one will be keeping a close eye out for it but for now I will be treating my self to a lot more books from this talented writer.

My Review this time around
This book still had my heart beating faster even though I knew what was coming. The story swept me up and kept my interest right to the last word, I can honestly say that I loved this story as much this time around as I did the first. Reading this still made me want to see the Patrick Swayze film of the same name again and I still have not yet got a copy of that so we all know what I will be doing over the next few days lol. The next book in this series is out now and I will be reading it as it is Quinn's story and I am hoping to learn more about Beth and Ryal. I will admit that after reading this the first time and saying I would read more from this author this is the first time I have read anything else by her but I will so be remedying that, this has reminded me just how good her writing is I will be investing in more books and soon.

My Rating:
Awesome both times!

A smashing, award-winning debut novel that introduces Charley Davidson: part-time private investigator and full-time Grim Reaper
Charley sees dead people. That’s right, she sees dead people. And it’s her job to convince them to “go into the light.” But when these very dead people have died under less than ideal circumstances (i.e. murder), sometimes they want Charley to bring the bad guys to justice. Complicating matters are the intensely hot dreams she’s been having about an Entity who has been following her all her life...and it turns out he might not be dead after all. In fact, he might be something else entirely.

I have to say I have been meaning to read this one for a while and now I have to ask myself what was I waiting on. I loved this book. It was just amazing on so many levels. Charley is one of the best female heroines I have run across in a long time. She is smart, witty, powerful, snarky and oh did I mention she can see the dead. Yes that's right Charley is a Grim Reaper but you can through out all thoughts you have of Grim Reapers as she is completely different. She does everything in her own awesome style. Charley is also a PI that leads to lots of funny moments too.I think one of my favorite things about this book was all the funny as heck quotes. I found myself crying from laughing so hard throughout this book.

The book also had plenty of action which is another thing I love in a great read. I think the other thing I loved came in the form of Reyes. Oh Reyes where do I begin with him. Let's just sum him up as sexy piece of man rolled into a mysterious package that keeps you guessing. I loved his interactions with Charley and how she would seem to swoon so much around him. He just had such a calming effect on her. I loved too that Charley could truly be herself around him and he accepted her for what she was.

Charley had some awesome characters around her too in the form of Cookie who I also loved. I loved seeing these two bonded so well together and be true girlfriends. There are too many times when books show women not getting along but these two truly cared for and had each others back one hundred percent. I also liked Garrett too as it was fun to see Charley trying to explain to him what she was and what she could do. The way he interacted with her as if he wasn't sure if she was just crazy or was truly different was so funny at times.

Overall I loved this book and can't wait to read the rest of the series and so sad that I put it off for so long. I loved the action, case solving and paranormal elements of this book. They all combined together into creating a truly awesomesauce book that I highly recommend to others. If you haven't read this book yet you really need to stop everything and do so as you won't be disappointed. I have to thank the awesome ladies over at the Goodreads Paranormal with a Kick Group and Kim at Kimba the Caffineted Book Reviewer for all their lovely reviews and good thoughts on this that finally got me to read this one.
And what about that crazy Frankenstorm on the east coast of the US? I guess next it’ll be Snowmagedon!

When a long-time friendship dies, whose fault is it?
Decades past junior high, Caroline Batzer finds herself snubbed by her best friend. At first confused, she is later stunned to learn that Sarah Leigh has betrayed her in a way she would never have suspected. In an all-too-public setting, Caroline airs her anger at the woman everyone else in town considers saintly. When Sarah disappears soon afterward, it looks like Caroline murdered her. Desperately she tries to figure out who else could have done it—Sarah’s philandering husband? Her useless son?
Caroline’s nightmare is just beginning, because the people responsible for what happened to Sarah are now after Caroline, and they don’t care how rough things get.

My Review

About half this story is told after the fact, but it is very skilfully done without letting anything out of the bag. The suspense doesn't stop until the story is over and the outcome is not what you'll expect and yet exactly what you would want if you happen to have known the story ahead of time. Confused yet?
Just wait until you try to "whodunit" with this great tale! I truly enjoy good writing and this book has it. The characters are folks you could have in your neighbourhood and never even know. The conflict, while unusual is not outside the realm of believable.

My Rating:

I really liked this!

Sarah Hausman is offered one last opportunity to build and strengthen her character before the "Age of Grace" comes to a close. She accepts the challenges set before her when she is reborn into her new life on earth as Judith Ann. She is being sent back to earth on a mission; to rescue the soul of her former husband, Marcus Agrippa, whom she deeply loved while in her early life in Rome. The rewards Sarah gains or loses in her next life on earth will be what she takes with her into eternity. Go Sarah!

My Review

While the title has some possibilities, this story goes downhill from there. The tale is little more than a meandering list of the things that happen to the title character over her sixty plus years of life in the early 20th century. There is no suspense, no intrigue, no real romance or real conflict, but rather a sequential reporting of a rather routine life. If you’re into reality television and like boring single dimensional characters, then this is a book for you. Otherwise you might as well not bother.

My Rating:

Where I got this book: This is part of my own e-book collection

Before coming to the Jarvela Farm, a sanctuary located in Finland, jaguar shifter Noah Moore did something that terrified him: he fell in love. But he was brave and took the chance… and ended up fleeing the States to nurse a broken heart. Though he’s happy enough living among others of his kind, being surrounded primarily by happy couples reminds him of what he’s missing.

When Dallas, the biracial tiglon shifter responsible for Noah’s heartache, turns up at the farm, Noah gets the shock of his life. Though the feelings are still there, so is the pain. Dallas desperately wants to make it up to Noah and win him back, but he knows he has to do it on Noah’s terms—and only with the farm family’s approval. Can Dallas convince Noah to stop living in the past and move into the future with him?

My Review

I emailed the author after reading book 1 and asked if we would get a book 2 and she told be yes and that it would be Noah's story and what a story she has given us. Not only was it bitter sweet seeing Noah struggle to forgive Dallas but we got a heart wrenching back story too. Now I am hoping Rider is the focus of book 3 and I am hoping Ms Fielding is a fast writer because I don't want to wait for the next one! OK I know I am a greedy reader and all good things come to those who wait but nobody said I had to like the wait!!!

if you have not read book 1 of this series you can still read and love this one and I know, if you are a shifter fan, you will love her take on the whole shifter world. I love that they are just like us humans really except that they can turn into an animal. They are a little stronger but still can get I'll they have mates but they fall in love and choose that mate just like we do. It makes it all the more believable that shifters could be out there living among us and let's face it what not to love about that idea!!

My Rating:
Awesome!
