Only they can appreciate the true value of a glinting piece clinging around the neck, hugging the wrists, and those enfolding the fingers. An elegant necklace is probably the best gift a man can give to her lady. But buying necklaces is perhaps a troublesome thing for someone. Whether you are buying a necklace for yourself or for somebody else, the first thing you need to do is look for popular shops in your place. If you cannot find one, then going online for jewellery shopping isn't a bad option.

There are many materials for necklaces and one of the best pick in the market is one made of sterling silver, which is flashy and elegant. Silver necklaces have this power of throwing out brilliance and statement. Say nothing when you are donning a lustrous piece of elegance around your neck. Silver is in the league of gold or platinum and designers easily put some gemstones (like citrine and peridot) to enhance its natural charm. Sterling silver necklaces come in various designs. Some are endowed with pendants and stone ornaments while others are plain, stylish silver chains.

Necklaces made of silver come in different lengths just like all the other kinds of necklaces. You can have a collection of necklaces that come in different lengths but consider your apparel, facial structure, and body type when choosing a necklace to put on. Keep in mind that your choice for a necklace can either make or break your overall get-up. People first look at your face and as they look down, what they see first is that shimmering piece hanging down your neck, accentuating your mid-chest region which would be otherwise bare.

Buying necklaces online is tricky because you don't get to try them around your neck to see if it would look great. This is even more of an issue if you are choosing jewellery chokers because you need to make sure they fit just right, not too tight and not too loose. So get a good measurement of your neckline and compare it with the measurement of the necklace shown on an online jewellery shop. You can ask the dealer for specifics. Sterling silver chokers would usually measure around 15 inches and these ornaments simply run around your neckline for sheer accentuation. Collar silver jewellery would be a little shorter than chokers and they give a snug fit. Collar jewellery usually has at least three strands and it clings closer to the neck than any other type of necklace. Long necklaces vary from short princess necklaces that may be as short as 17 inches to lariats that are more than half a yard. Long necklaces made of silver are flexible when it comes to accessorizing and they can be worn in different ways and styles.

Nonetheless, necklace lengths depend on the occasion. Business appointments and corporate meet-ups don't demand for overdressing and too much jewellery. All you need is a matinee silver necklace that settles on the chest. There is no need for luxury silver chokers or rope necklaces. You don't need to look too flashy in the corporate world, especially if there are employee attire codes to adhere to.

When shopping online, read necklace length specifications and find out if the length of the clasp is included. Necklace clasps add less than an inch to the entire length of the jewellery though.

You should also make sure that the silver necklace is of sterling silver and not fake silver. Since it's tough to distinguish between sterling silver and counterfeit, you should buy only from reputable sellers online.

Men's Clothing - Jacket Fashions & Styles

Jackets are an essential part of Mens clothing. They keep you warm and can be a perfect addition to any stylish outfit. Jackets are offered in a range of different styles and designs. Below are some of the popular styles designed for casual wear. After reading this you will understand what type of mens clothing should be worn with each jacket. This kind of mens clothing is meant for autumn and winter seasons when the temperature dips down. By learning about the different jackets available you can decide which fits your style and liking.

A lot of the styles which are found in Mens clothing today, originally came from clothing made for soldiers, pilots and sailors in World War I and II. The bomber jacket is a great example of clothing originating from that era. A bomber jacket is made from leather and designed to keep the body warm. This type of mens clothing is fitted and has an elastic waistline and cuffs to prevent cold air from coming in and warm air from escaping. This is the kind of clothing you will want to have in your wardrobe for autumn and early winter. Some bomber jackets are offered with fur lining to provide extra insulation and protection from the cold. It is essential that you choose a bomber jacket that fits right and is not too baggy or bunched up.

A pea coat is another popular style of clothing worn during colder seasons. Pea coats are made of wool and have large buttons made from wood or metal. Pea coats usually are thigh length and are available in colours such as navy blue, black, olive green and brown. Pea coats are not exclusively mens clothing and are also worn by women. This kind of clothing suits all body types as long as it is worn at the right length.

A blazer is a must have if you are looking for a complete clothing wardrobe. It looks great with jeans and corduroy pants. If you are planning to wear a blazer for a date, you should pair a black blazer with a white v-neck tshirt and jeans. This combination of clothing will really make a man look well defined and smart. When wearing a blazer you should always wear mens clothing that is contrasting in colour. Tan and white, black and white, navy blue and tan are just some of the colour combinations to consider while wearing this type of mens clothing. Many times the blazer is confused with the sports jacket. A sports jacket is a completely different type of clothing. Tweed is a common fabric used for making sports jackets. Now that you have gained an idea of the different jackets available, you can start shopping for the right kind of mens clothing to fill your wardrobe. Color, fit, length and style are the main keys to finding a proper jacket. Browsing through a number of stores will give you an idea of what clothing is currently in style and the kind of look that will be suitable for you.

Dog Bicycle Carriers - Fashion and Style Cruising With Your Pet

Did you know you can get a dog bicycle carrier for your pet? Yes, it is not just Dorothy Gale who can carry her own personal Toto in a basket on her bicycle! Now, anyone can get that Wizard of Oz look when traveling with their pet. Today, there are dozens of different styles of carriers that attach to your bicycles handle bars, allowing you to stick your small dog inside for a fun trip for you both.

A dog bicycle carrier is designed to be a safe, secure place for your pet. You will not have to worry about him jumping out while you are riding, since the carrier is made to prevent this from happening. This is true of every style of carrier. That said, there are virtually unlimited features, colors, and styles to choose from, so you can get the on-the-go look that is right for both you and your dog. For example, some carriers are padded, while others are wired. Some come in neutral colors, some are pastel, while others are bold and bright. You can get carriers with sun shades to keep the heat off of Fido, while other carriers come with side pockets for food and water containers, so your pet can get the sustenance he needs on long trips. You can truly customize your bicycle travel experience with these carriers.

Nearly all dog bicycle carriers attach to the front of the bike, usually on the handlebars. This is because your dog is usually the safest when you can see him. However, there are a few models that attach to the side of your bicycle, and there are even trailers that hitch to the back of the bike. The choice you make depends entirely on what makes you the most comfortable. However, if you love to travel by bike, there is no reason you can not take your dog along for the ride!

Nokia 7373 - A Blend of Fashion and Style

These days mobile phones are coming up with latest designs and features to attract consumers all over the world. Also their inter-changeable usages have compounded their meanings.

The Merriam Webster's Collegiate Dictionary (11th Edition), defines Fashion as the prevailing (dress) Style during a particular time: and Style as a distinctive manner of (dressing). (Emphasis on dress, dressing for the purpose of this article)

From these meanings, we see that Fashion is an offshoot of Style. Fashion is the prevailing Style of a particular period. People of Style are not necessarily subject to Fashion, but Fashionable people must of necessity conform to the prevailing Style.

Another thing to note is that Fashion revolves, while Style evolves. The evolution of Style has brought about bell-bottoms, jump-ups, high waistbands, etc for men. In the late 60s and early 70s, crazy after Style icon James Brown, men wore bell-buttons trousers and tight-fitting shirts with shoes so high they were variously nicknamed, five foot above sea level, upstairs etc.

In the early 80s, young men copied Michael Jackson's high waist band, jump-up black trouser (show me your stockings) and a white pair of stocks to contrast. Figure out what man will wear those things today.

Several times, attempts have been made to strike a come back for these old skools, but the truth is that better taste will never let them prevail. This is what I mean by evolution.

On the other hand, check out the history of women's dress-from the corset to tight-knee, to micro mini, maxi, ball gown and back to all of them again. They are always in a revolution. What goes around comes around.

Generally speaking, men's wear is more about Style than Fashion, while women's wear is more about Fashion than Style. Although there are couple of women who are more into Style than Fashion. But then fashion is meant to update the woman dress-wise. To keep her nature forever attractive, whether in glamorous or simple Style. That is why Fashion shows are basically about women's wear; an attempt to revive the old with the modern modifications and sway the consumer to the currency of a prevailing Style in an endless cycle.

The few men's wears you may see are only there to carry us along, because at the end of it all, the men pick the top. Fashion designers are hard put as to what to do to men's wear on the run way. They have played us into fashion-by-language; casual, leisure, and the lounge wears; they have tried to call some sport and outdoors; separated them into summer, winter and spring.

But between you and I, it is all a farce. Men's wear will and forever be shirts and trousers. Even the jacket is only a modified shirt padded to keep the wearer warm in cold conditions, which also serves to give among others, the effect of comportment and formality.

Now Style in men's wear is the ability to play the combinations of cloths textures, colors, patterns, fits, and suitability with relevant accoutrements to conform to acceptable dress codes.

And for this, one inalienable factor in creating a good Style is taste. Cultivate a good taste and watch your personal Style (in all facets of life) become an epitome.

Hip Hop Fashion and Style - Keeping Hip and Trendy

Even though men's fashion is more understated than women's fashion, it is still very important. You may not hear about it as much, or see as many ads with men as the fashion models, but fashion IS a man's world too, especially in the realm of hip hop.

Men's clothing has changed over the years, but there are a few staples that have not really changed. The b-boys know what they are. Baseball caps, under tees, t-shirts, loose fitting jeans and white sneakers seem as if they will never go out of style.

Of course, as with anything (especially fashions) even the most classic things get updated. New color schemes and textures come into play. Right now you see a lot of bright, almost neon colors, whereas in the early 90's it was blacks, reds, and greens, and other muted primary color, a tribute to the colors of Africa. In the 80's, the beginning of hip hop, it was black and leather.

Baseball caps are not just a hip hopstyle, but an American classic that will never go away. The only thing that has changed is the fact that an actual baseball team need not be advertised on the hat. They can be plain, make a political statement, or have a brand or band logo on them. They are in fact a major money maker for many hip trend clothing labels.

Plain white undershirts are worn by many more people than people in the hip hop world as well, but rock bands made it popular to wear them alone. Many a woman will tell you that it looks very sexy to see a man in nothing more than a clean white under tank, or "wife-beater", jeans, and white sneakers on.

The t-shirt is another American classic that has been commandeered by the hip hop world. Many people think of tees as strictly casual, but the world of fashion knows how to dress them up. Matching your t-shirt to your hat and shoes is, and has been for some time, quite popular in hip hop. Tees come in varieties never thought possible and aren't just casual any longer. Every major clothing brand has a plethora of tee shirts available to choose from.

While loose fitting pants are still "in", they should not be as loose as they have been worn in the past. In the 1990's, it was not uncommon to see a man walking down the streets with his pants so low that most of his boxer shorts were showing. Now, to wear your pants that way is generally considered tacky, and isn't seen much anymore. It is, however, acceptable and stylish for the top band of boxers to be seen above the tops of pants.

The most common type of footwear in this trend is white sneakers. Nothing can beat them; they go with everything, and are best if kept spotlessly clean. Some famous artists have been known to walk very gingerly in their shoes so as to keep them clean and not crease them in any way. The sneakers do not need to be white, though. Sneakers today come in every available color scheme, and are carefully matched by the fashionable man to his hat, shirt, or both.

Men's fashion may have fewer choices than women's and not be as stressed in our society, but it is far from obsolete. It is just not as public. Hip hop clothing is no different. It is a spectrum. The men of hip hop can make looking put together an art, without it being girlish at all, using the above staple items. Yet, even the most low maintenance man already owns gear considered by many to be "hip hop".

Clothing Wholesale - A Look at Different Women's Fashion Styles

Women are considered to be the ones very meticulous about the clothes that they wear since they don't only look online to find the clothes that have the best value. Women embrace fashion and use style to express their personality, but for many the pressure to create personal style is overwhelming.

Our world is more and more about image and how fashion and style apply to it. These changes are influencing our desire and ability to incorporate style in our own lives. The major market influencers are:

- Our increased interest in celebrities
- The adoption of all body shapes and sizes
- The mainstream availability of more affordable, fashionable clothing
- Hot, hip, stylish and sexy - 30s, 40s, 50s
- Women have less to spend on clothing

Celebrities are everywhere and we want to know everything about them. Where they go and what they wear are big news. They adorn the covers of our favorite magazines and endorse our coveted luxury items. We follow their every fashion move, we want what they have; Louis Vuitton bags, the "it" designer jeans, Gucci sunglasses...the list goes on. Celebrities today not only wear the latest and greatest fashions but they define what fashion is. All this media exposure drives the 'want' factor of fashion. We want what they have.

Celebrities are influential and getting more and more attention, exposure and mindshare every day. This can be further seen by the explosion of celebrities as cover models on our favorite magazines. Years ago fashion models were the cover models of fashion magazines, but today it is the stars of the big/small screen and music industry. Not only is their photo on the cover, but they are a prominent story that month.

"Jennifer Lopez: Is Soooo Back, on Marc, the Exes, and Her Tell-All Album," Elle, February, 2010
"Christina Aguilera: I'm a Different Person Now," Marie Claire, February, 2010
Oprah, "Don't Change Your Body...Change Your Jeans! Find Your Dream Fit," O The Oprah Magazine, February, 2010

Adoption of all bodies. The increased coverage and variety of celebrities has also opened the door to what we perceive as beautiful. We are slowly changing the old stereotype of beauty. No longer is it solely defined by that perfect, 18-year-old, 6 foot, super skinny, supermodel of the past. Today we are exposed to a wide range of ages, bodies and styles - Taylor Swift and Hillary Duff to Madonna and Catherine Zeta Jones...Jennifer Aniston and Eva Longoria to Oprah and Queen Latifah...Drew Barrymore and Kate Hudson to Sarah Jessica Parker and Gwyneth Paltrow.

Mainstream fashion availability & affordability. Fashion has gone main-stream. High-end clothing designers create designer wear for mainstream retailers like Target and Wal-Mart. This availability of affordable, stylish clothing allows women to be more stylish and elevates the expectation of higher fashion and style for all. Stores like H&M and Forever 21 have opened many doors for women to embrace the latest fashion offerings at extremely affordable prices. This is both a blessing and a curse; women have the opportunity to find and afford more fashionable clothing, but also have greater pressure to be fashionable.

Hot, Hip, Stylish and Sexy - 30s, 40s, 50s. Thirty is the new Twenty, Forty is the new Thirty and Fifty is the new Forty - and the definitions of hot women in their 30s and 40s+ as Puma's and Cougar's proves sexy no longer has an age limit. Madonna, Elle MacPherson, Teri Hatcher, Heather Locklear, Kim Cattrall, Halle Berry, Demi Moore, Salma Hayek and Diane Lane...they are all over 40. For women of all ages this is power. Style and beauty are not only for the 20-somethings. Women of any age and body type can look good, and when you look good, you feel good. Women want to look good, really good...no matter what their age.

Women have less to spend on clothing. The pressure of society to be stylish coupled with our global financial challenges makes shopping for a new wardrobe challenging. Today women are spending less. As per the Cotton Incorporated Lifestyle Monitor™ survey, "84% of female respondents have the same to less money to spend on clothing this year versus last year (2009 vs. 2008)." So with less to spend it is critical to spend smartly. "Women are definitely being more careful about how and what they are spending on clothing... They are taking their time to assure themselves that they are making a smart choice," Joanne Stoner, edressme.com.

In Summary women feel the pressure to look good and don't want to waste money along the way. By select the right cuts for their body, colors that flatter, styles that are appropriate and pieces that work for their lifestyle and budget they will be better shoppers and better dressers.

Tricia is is an Image Consultant, style guru, marketer, blogger and style addict. The way that you look and dress is the first impression that people have of you. In order to give people a good first impression, you need to be dressed in a way that fits your style and does not look sloppy or messy, but one that does compliment you.

Personal style is a great way to express who you are and what you stand for. You can have fun with your own fashion statement but you should try and shy away from being too bold or it will make your outfit look like a costume.

You need to have a good appearance to show people that you invest in yourself. Your clothes should not be too tight because this gives a bad impression and it is very uncomfortable for you. Your clothes should not be too loose or baggy because that makes you look slovenly.

Your hair and makeup are also essential parts of your appearance. Your hair should be nicely combed and your make up should be subtle and not too loud. You need to put time and effort into how you dress and style yourself.

Fashion and style let people know if you are serious or not. The way that you dress on a job interview tells employers if you might make a good employee. If you are wearing a short skirt and a t-shirt then most employers would not think to hire you because they think that you are not serious about wanting the job that they are hiring for.

The importance of style and fashion in today's society is very important so always make sure you look your best whenever you go because you never know who is watching. You could end up reaping many rewards if you invest in yourself because you will look great and feel better about yourself. Put your best clothes on and put your best foot forward.

Men's Fashion and Style Tips #1

Fashion is no longer just for women. There are many ways that men can stay as fashionable and as up to date as their female counterparts.

Here are some great tips to help you look your best:

1. Stick with styles that suit you - Sometimes the trendiest clothing is not the right choice for you. If you have a personal style, stick with it. Otherwise, you'll just look uncomfortable and that's not the impression you want to give. That's not to say you can't change things up a little, but don't try to become an entirely different person.

2. Invest in a few good pieces - It's easy to waste your money on designer clothes, but not everyone can afford to that. Instead, focus on three key designer items that are necessary for every man's closet. First, a nice pair of designer jeans. Get a classic cut that will never go out of style. Second, a nice designer button-down shirt. You'll get a lot of wear out of this one. Third, a designer suit. These three pieces can get you through just about anything.

3. Don't forget outerwear - A lot of people tend to focus only on their clothes, forgetting coats. You should have at least one nice coat that can transition from casual to business easily.

4. Don't forget underwear - On the same token, you don't want to skimp on what lies beneath. Invest in some high quality underwear in the style that suits you. These will last much longer than the cheap kind and they are a lot more comfortable. When you're comfortable down there, you're comfortable everywhere.

5. Get some great tees - T-shirts are versatile and a necessary part of everyone's wardrobe. Look for a few high quality tees made of expensive cotton that look like a million bucks. Throw in a few vintage tees for good measure, but don't go too overboard.

6. Don't forget the slacks - While everyone loves to wear jeans, sometimes they just aren't appropriate. If you don't have a need to wear a suit, you should at least have one pair of nice dress slacks. Whether you need them for a date or you just want a change, it's nice to have a pair on hand.

7. Invest in nice shoes - Shoes really complete a polished picture, if they are done right. You should have at least one pair of the following shoes on hand: running shoes, dress shoes, casual shoes, hiking boots, and a pair of dressy boots. Keep them clean and polished at all times.

8. Remember to accessorize - All men need at least one dress watch and one casual watch, as well as an assortment of nice neck chains and/or bracelets. Don't go overboard with the jewelry, but a nice chain can really complete an outfit.

9. Tie it all together - Ties can actually be a lot of fun. If you don't own a tie right now, go out and buy at least one classic tie. Stick with solids if you are afraid of matching them with shirts, or get funky with some cool patterns if you want to change it up a bit.

10. Keep them looking good - No matter how much you spend on clothes; if you throw them on the floor, they're going to look awful. Take care of your clothes and make sure you follow the care instructions properly. Dry cleaning is expensive, but well worth it sometimes.

Affordable Fashion and Style With Replica Sunglasses

Just because you are on tight budget does not mean that you can't have a taste of glamour and fashion in eyewear that movie stars and celebrities enjoy. Thanks to replica sunglasses, you can flaunt your personality and style without having to spend much.

Sunglasses are definitely in style in the fashion scene right now. Sunglasses have become more than just an eyewear to protect your eyes from the sun's glare and UV rays. They have become a fashion icon - something that flaunt your sense of style and make people take a second glance.

As in many other fields in fashion, the influence of celebrities plays a major role in the popularity of this piece of eyewear. Looking at paparazzi shots, red carpet launches, gala fests and award functions, the impact of sunglasses in establishing presence is undeniable. As you know, these celebrities usually have preferences for a few designer brands of eyewear - Dior, Oakley, Cartier, Gucci, Chanel, Fendi, Armani - you name it! These designer sunglasses are truly luxury items that set them apart from the average Joe and Jane.

But does this mean that you can't flaunt your sense of style because you can't afford these expensive, impractical items? Think again! Replica sunglasses are an excellent alternative to designer eyewear. With designer replica sunglasses, you can enjoy that same luxury without having to pay more than you can afford. You can be in and fashionable through a replica eyewear, which is just tenth of the price of the authentic one.

However, there is something very important to note about replica sunglasses and how it is different from a fake one. Fake sunglasses are those that exactly copy the logo of the original designer. However, replica sunglasses are not mistaken for fake and should never be considered fake because they contain no designer logos. Remember that what you want is the sense of style, fashion and glamour that this piece of item provides. It is not about sporting branded sunglasses or claiming that you can afford one.

Replica sunglasses now come in a wide range of variety. Whether you need a replica aviator sunglass worn by Angelina Jolie on Wanted, or one of Paris Hilton's white oversized sunnies, or that worn by Keanu Reeves in Matrix, you will surely find one that you want at a very affordable price.

Common sense and practicality will tell you that it is not a wise thing to spend hundreds of dollars for a pair of sunglasses when you can buy one that looks the same that is way below $100. Besides, you will enjoy the same personality and ego boost when you wear either of them. So, flaunt your best self by wearing those fashionable sunglasses that you have

Top Ten Fashion Trends From the 1940's

Rationing:

World War II impacted virtually every aspect of American life and fashion was no exception. In 1942, the United States imposed a rationing system similar to the one Great Britain had implemented the previous year, limiting, among other things, the amount of fabric that could be used in a single garment. Materials including wool, silk, leather and a fledgling DuPont Corp. invention called nylon were diverted for use in uniforms, parachutes, shoelaces and even bomber noses.

Jackets could be no more than 25 inches in length, pants no more than 19 inches in circumference at the hem, belts no more than two inches wide and heels no more than an inch in height. Hemlines rose to the knee in an effort to conserve fabric. Buttons, cuffs, pockets and decorative details like ruffles and lace were used sparingly. Women wore shorter, boxy jackets for a V-shaped silhouette reminiscent of military uniforms. Even Hollywood traded elaborate costumes for simplified designs, a move many claimed lent movies a new air of realism.

Nylon:

As soon as it was introduced in 1938, women embraced synthetic nylon as a replacement for silk stockings. In the early 1940s, however, with silk already diverted to the war effort, the government recognized similar uses for nylon and commandeered it as well. Women responded by coating their legs in tan makeup and drawing lines up the backs of their calves to mimic seams. By the time the war ended and stockings returned to store shelves, nylon had become a generic term for hosiery.

Swing skirts.

The swing skirt had a round cut designed to look best in full jitterbug twirl. Swing skirts were a common sight on USO dance floors as young women danced with uniformed men to the jazzy horns that characterized the Big Band Era. Housewives were known to wear a more conservative version of the swing dress, sometimes in polka-dot or tiny floral prints.

Hats:

Hats became one of the few ways to express individual style with minimal resources. They were worn in a wide range of styles and personalized with scraps of foil, sequins, netting, paper and string.

Hair and makeup:

Hairstyles became more elaborate as women sought ways to contrast their dull wardrobes. Shoulder length or longer hair was rolled into complex shapes and secured with bobby pins. Screen sirens like Lauren Bacall, Veronica Lake and Rita Hayworth popularized side parts and finger waves. Makeup was dramatic, characterized by matte foundation, powder, heavy brows and bright scarlet lips.

Platform pumps:

The wartime shortage of leather and steel forced shoe designers to get more creative and, as a result, shoes were cobbled from materials ranging from crocodile hide to cork. Shoes were more utilitarian than stylish, with low heels and limited color choices. By the mid to late 1940s, platform pumps with high heels in T-straps, ankle straps or open toes had replaced the dowdy wedgie with its flat shape and thick cork soles.

Menswear as womens wear:

A number of men may have spent the first half of the 1940s in uniform, but their civilian clothes came in handy for the women who filled their home-front jobs. Women raided the closets of absent men and tailored the suits to fit themselves. McCalls even introduced a pattern aimed specifically at modifying a masculine suit to fit feminine curves. Suddenly, the sexually ambivalent look pioneered in the late 1930s by Katherine Hepburn and Marlene Dietrich was radical no more. The emergence of the dress pattern and electric sewing machine led women to make their own suits from scratch, opting for gabardine due to the scarcity of wool. Many with physically demanding factory jobs soon began wearing practical pants and Rosie the Riveter jeans.

Sweaters:

By the mid-1940s, many women had abandoned the single-piece corset in favor of panties and structured bras that lifted and accentuated the bust line. In 1946, a well-endowed Jane Russell appeared onscreen in a cantilever bra designed by Howard Hughes, prefiguring the bullet-bra 1950s and the reign of the sweater girl. Loose-fitting cardigans were also popular, particularly on college campuses.

Sportswear:

The virtual disappearance of French fashion houses during the war led American designers to explore their own creativity. Designers like Bonnie Cashin and Claire McCardell were instrumental in the creation of sportswear, that singularly American look featuring coordinated separates that could be worn in layers or in various combinations. The trend not only gave women increased options and made it appear as if they had more clothes than they actually did, but also blurred the line between couture and ready-to-wear by showing women they could be both chic and comfortable without spending a fortune.

The New Look:

By the late 1940s, women craved a return to glamor and designers obliged with swirling skirts and shimmering evening gowns inspired by film stars like Ingrid Bergman, Barbara Stanwyck and Joan Crawford.

In 1947, French couturier Christian Dior almost single-handedly brought an end to wartime austerity with a fashion line observers christened the New Look. Severe angles were replaced with curves, hemlines dropped back below the knee and skirts were generously draped. Structured undergarments were key to the New Look, which featured broad shoulders, cinched waists, emphasized bust lines and padded hips. The pencil skirt was a figure-hugging alternative to bouffant skirts. Men, too, longed for freedom from conservative tailoring in khaki and olive drab. They found relief in wide-legged trousers, full-length coats and suits in an array of colors. Both mens and womens trousers featured higher waists, widely cut legs and cuffs and came in textured tweeds and jewel tones.

The New Look met with protest from women who had grown accustomed to baring their legs and were disinclined to cover them back up. Moreover, the opulent, fabric-rich designs seemed wasteful in contrast to wartime fabric restrictions. The desire for change prevailed, however, and the look flourished throughout much of the 1950s.

Lady Gaga and Her Own Fashion and Style

Born Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta on March 28, 1986, she is now known as Lady Gaga across the entire planet. Her claim to fame came not to long ago, when she released her first album Fame in August of 2008. With that album came the chart topping single "Just Dance," and that one song propelled her into stardom. Her unique stage name came from music producer Rob Fusari. Every day, when Stefani came into the studio, he would play the Queen Song "Radio Ga Ga." The name Lady Gaga was created purely by accident, when Rob Fusari sent her a text message that was supposed to be titled "Radio Ga Ga," but the phone automatically corrected it to Lady. Thus the moniker Lady Gaga was born. Germanotta refused to be called by her name from that point on, and goes only by the name Lady Gaga now, and introduces herself as Gaga.

After producing many songs with Rob Fusari, Fusari sent those songs the producer and record executive Vincent Herbert. After hearing the songs, she was quickly signed to his label, Streamline Records. Herbert was credited as the person who discovered Lady Gaga. Since Gaga was also skilled in the art of songwriting, and because she had been an apprentice songwriter during an internship at Famous Music Publishing, she also landed a deal with Sony/ATV Music Publishing. She was then hired to write songs for established artists such as the Pussycat Dolls, Fergie, Britney Spears, and New Kids on the Block.

During her stay at Streamline Records, songwriter and singer Akon discovered just how vocally talented Lady Gaga is when she sang some vocals for one of his tracks in the studio. After hearing her vocals, he convinced the CEO of Streamline/Interscope and CEO Jimmy Iovine to have Lady Gaga sign with his own label, Kon Live Distribution. Later on, she also signed on with Cherrytree Records, established by Martin Kierszenbaum, whom she co-wrote four songs with.

When it comes to her fashion, Lady Gaga is sure to surprise every time she walks out the door. She can put together the most outrageous outfits, and yet, they all seem to fit her personality perfectly, and the public has even come to love her wacky and out-there outfits. She can take almost anything and make it into an awe inspiring dress, such as plastic bubble, or even the Muppets. Lady Gaga has said that Donatella Versace is her muse, and other famous designers, such as Alexander McQueen and Armani have all helped her create her infamous looks.

Alexander McQueen's outfits have been featured numerous times in Lady Gaga's videos, predominantly in Bad Romance. Since the designer himself had a wildly creative and shocking mind, it was no wonder she sought him out and enlisted his help in creating her looks. Recently, Gaga was also named number three on the Forbes Top 100 List. This was the first time she even made it onto the list, and being ranked that high just goes to show how much star power and influence this singer has over the world.

Men's Fashion - 2011 Style Tips

Fashion changes almost as much as some men change their bed sheets - at least once every six months. It can be hard to keep up, but don't worry; we've checked out the hottest trends in men's fashion for 2011 so you don't have to do it yourself. One hot trend that's emerging is floral patterns - these were all over the catwalk, everywhere from paisley shirts to louder flowery options and some great beach shorts, suggesting the designers are trying to alter the way men view fashion.

Of course, it wasn't all about the feminine patterns on the 2011 catwalks. Another hot item for men is the blazer. These were particularly abundant in soft, block colors such as pale mauve, grey, green and blue, which are really versatile colors. This makes your blazer wearable for any occasion, whether it's a formal event or something more social. Blazers are also superbly tailored, attractive and their great lines are flattering on any man, making this a great trend for 2011.

Blazers weren't the only jacket style on the 2011 catwalks; leather jackets were seen dotted around, too. The bomber style seemed to be particularly popular, affecting a great sporty look that works well on any man. Leather bomber jackets are a great way of keeping out the chill, particularly at more casual occasions such as sporting events and they come with loads of pockets, making them practical as well as fashionable. Wear it unzipped over a shirt for a laidback, ultra-hip look.

Of course, fashion is nothing if not ever so slightly odd from time to time, which may explain why crop tops were a key trend on the men's 2011 catwalks. This may sound like one for the women, but trust us, it's not. We're not talking about tiny crops here, more like loose tees that are just a bit shorter than normal. These are really flattering if you've got a great set of abs to show off and are surprisingly. They're most popular in block colors like black and white.

Another slightly surprising entry to the list of men's fashion trends for 2011 is lace and other sheer clothes. Again, this may sound like something from the women's catwalks, but worn in the right way, it can look great on men, too. Sheer shirts were especially popular and could be fantastic when worn on a summer vacation - they'd be really great for showing off your tan on the beach and are also brilliant for layering over other things, giving you plenty of options

No Limits For Fashion and Style in Men's Underwear

Earlier the trend and fashion was something attached only for the women's attire. Their sense of fashion outweighs their sense of support when it comes to their bathing suits. Some ladies simply see swimwear they like and purchase it without any thought given to the support they may or may not be getting. Since bathing suits are like underwear, it is important that they give you all the features of your under garments and still look fashionable and chic. This is where designers have placed their concern for women's swimsuits. They place fashion with support and comfort to create many of today's swimwear fashions.

The halter bathing suit is one of today's swimsuits that combine fashion with support and comfort. They give the wearer a sense of bareness on their back for all the sunning they choose to do while supplying all the support they need in the form of underwires, both stationary and floating. You can choose from soft cups or molded cups to give more added support if you need it. This style of bathing suit top is both practical and fashionable in terms of women's needs. However these are not the only requirements in ladies bathing suits, they must also be fun and functional as swimwear.

There is an abundance of swim apparel on the market. Some women like to mix and match separates to create their own style. For instance the Delta Burke Tigress Plus Size Halter Tankini Swimsuit is sold as separates so you can choose the style of bottoms you want to give the suit a different look. The bottoms offered with this suit are a moderate or full coverage bottom. You can find this suit and many more like it online at SHOP.COM. They can help you find the beachwear you are looking for at various websites so you can choose the site with the best price.

The Kenneth Cole Reaction Skirted Halter Bikini Swimsuit gives a little more in terms of bottom coverage with the addition of a skirt. The skirt helps hide or camouflage the upper thigh so that ladies can feel comfortable wearing their bathing suit regardless of their shape or flaws. Beach apparel can be stylish, supportive and comfortable if you only know what to look for. Don't just buy the first suit you find because you think it's cute, make sure it offers the features you need.

Many of the online retailers that offer beachwear carry a large variety of styles and designers. Moosejaw.com, alwaysforme.com and Swimsuitsforall.com are only a few of the vast online retailers who offer you choices of swimsuits as well as convenience in shopping and discounts. They provide you with information on each suit that allows you to see the features and give you all the information you will need to help you make your purchase. Some websites even offer you the option of comparing suits.

When you are choosing your beachwear for the summer, make sure it includes all the features you need in terms of support, slimming and control as well as offers you the latest styles and fashions.

Women's Fashion or Style - Which Is the Most Important?

If asked about women's fashion and style, many of us would think the two were one and the same, but in fact they are actually both very different. Whether we like it or not, the clothes we choose to wear say a lot about who we are and where we belong in society.

Fashion relates to the latest trends, and what the population deems to be stylish. The concept of fashion originates from what designers think we will be interested in at a given time, and generally involves following the masses. Style is what makes our dress sense unique, our personal inclination towards trends, and how we make ourselves original; and the two can become intertwined.

Fashion changes constantly, season by season, and it's quite easy to keep up with and wear all the latest trends. Style, however, is much more difficult to develop and can depend on a number of factors, such as your age, where you are from and your emotions at any given time. It will usually take people a number of years of experimenting with different styles, before they find the one they are truly happy and comfortable with, and this isn't a bad thing. Style is how we choose to express ourselves; some people will show off their personalities through their style, while others will hide behind it. Style is the way in which we put our clothes together.

We all know people who have good style, and who really know how to put their outfit together. Generally, these people won't be dressed head to toe in the latest trends, but instead will have one or two trends, mixed together with their own individual style. Style is about knowing yourself well, and using your clothes to express this to others, rather than wearing specific clothes for the sake of being trendy.

It would be true to say that style is far more important than fashion. You could have two people wearing exactly the same outfit, and one will always stand out more than the other. This can be determined by the way they carry themselves, the way they have accessorised their outfit, and how they have expressed themselves through their style. If you don't feel comfortable in what you're wearing, it will stand out a mile to others.

The way to put your style together successfully is to ensure you have always have a few classic pieces of clothing in your wardrobe, which won't go out of fashion. It's good to keep up with the latest fashion and use key trends to mix up with your own personal style. Only wear trends which suit you, rather than purely wearing clothes which are 'in' at that particular time. Personal style is an extension of yourself, and allows you to break away from normality. Rightly or wrongly, people tend to judge each other on what clothes they are wearing, and you can use your style as a freedom of expression.

Fashion and Style - Exclusive Fashion Tips For Men

Fashion is a new trend that is commonly used in different areas, but mostly it talks about the latest clothing and accessories trends. Fashion has different touch on areas like interior designs, music and entertainment.

Fashion is for both men and women. Men have different ways of doing fashion, and generally they do fashion to get the attention of women and improve self confidence. Here are some tips that will give you basic insight of men fashions.

Size
Buying new and good looking clothes is kind of hard job because sometime you have to shop for hours and hours to find right clothes. Spending few hours for good clothes that fits on you is worth while. When you buy clothes, don't buy too apparel that are too tight or too big. Until you get clothes that fit on your body, you need to keep on shopping. When you find one, never forget to try out in a changing room to see how you look on new clothes.

Simplicity Is Beauty
Men should look for clothes that have simple design or prints. Simplicity is pure beauty in this case. Make your selection of prints that have no more than three shades of color. You can add other accessories such as wrist watch, a necklace and a belt to add more shades on your dress. Tryout collared shirts and simple jeans if you prefer casual outfits.

Give Attention to Supporting Clothes
Supporting clothes shouldn't be overlooked because if you do, they can create distractions. When you wear a sweatshirt or jacket, make sure that it matches your outfit. For instance, if you wear cotton pants, choose a cotton or blazer coat on top. While you go shopping, take a female companion with you. She might be your friend, girlfriend or your sister, just trust her judgment because most women have more or less knowledge on fashion.

Purchasing a Nice Pair of Shoes
Buying a shoe may not be that tough but finding one that fits is. You need to spend sometime in a shop to spot a right shoe for you from the hundreds of different shoes from the showcase. Women always pay attention on men's shoes so you need to get one that looks clean and easy to wash.

Shaving
Shaving creams and aftershave are just easy to buy. Men usually shave two or four times a week. If you have a date, then you must look clean, if you are going for an interview, you must look clean. Use new types of razor. Today you can find double-edged to triple-edge razor, but be very careful because these razors are very sharp. You need to have antiseptic lotion just in case you cut your skin during shaving.

Designer Handbags: Fashion And Style Packed In

Designer handbagsor branded handbags have become the inseparable part of women's wardrobe. Most of the people are of the view that these fashion accessories came into being in the 20th century, which is half true. The concept of carrying handbags is centuries old, though the breed of fashionable designer bags indeed prospered in the last century.

As the ancient man felt the need of traveling from one place to another on foot, he required something to carry his belongings. It was the idea of men, and not women, to devise something like a bag. In the beginning, leaves and wood were the materials used for making bags that were carried in hand.

The concept of making handbags that could be hung from waist was most probably devised in Egypt. By the Middle Ages approached, handbags became equally popular among men and women. The bags used at that time were designed to be hung from the shoulders. During the 16th century, the bags made of leather and cloth came into existence.

The small sized branded handbags used today are inspired by the bags used in the 17th century. Embroidered handbags too were discovered to start the era of designer handbags. It was the time, when women started ruling the world of purses and men used them occasionally.

The smallest of the bags called pouches were immensely popular during that period. These purses were placed by women in the under pockets of the clothes they wore. However, the trend changed when the style of clothing for women changed. To meet the new requirements, reticules were discovered that would help the women to carry their fashion accessories. These purses were highly fashionable and matched the type of clothes women wore in that era.

With the beginning of the 20th century, the term 'handbag' became popular in use. For men, these handbags were the luggage bags that they would use to carry their clothes and other items while traveling. For women, the term handbags referred to the attractive fashion items that they would carry to social gatherings. Every thing, from cosmetics to sunglasses, occupied space in these bags that would now come with two or more compartments.

It was in the middle of the 20th century that different accessories and embellishments started getting added to the designer handbags. Zips, metal frames, mirrors and many such items became popular to enhance the looks of handbags. The branded handbags were all in rage, when the renowned brands like Hermes and Chanel started manufacturing bags in different styles.

The present time is the most exciting time for the admirers of fashionable designer handbags. One can find a number of popular brands who come up with innovated designs on regular basis. If you wish to start a handbag store, you can easily import the wonderful varieties of fashion bags form all parts of the world.

Designer handbags are popular as gift items as well. One can purchase these handbags on the occasions like Mother's Day, Valentine's Day, birthdays and weddings. These fashion accessories have indeed come a long way to gain the status they enjoy today

Fashion and Style For Plus Size Clothing is Finally Here

The fashion world has finally realised there are lots of plus sized women and king sized men who want to look as nice as they possibly can. Style is finally available for the 'larger in stature' of us, giving many an opportunity to look and feel comfortable and at ease with our size. Now, plus size clothing is considerably more common, than ever before.

Men and women fall into any one of several body types, and depending on those types, their attire will vary.

- Large 'king size' men (tall and average build)
- Large 'king size' men (average height, obese)
- Average men (average height, average build)
- Small men (smaller in build, short and slim)
- Large 'plus size' women (tall, athletic type, average build)
- Large 'plus size' women (average height, obese)
- Average women (average height, average build)
- Small women (petite build, short and slim)

The average size is considered the norm, and has always been the criteria by which most clothing lines base their inventory each year. However, over the years, the average person has put on a few pounds here and there, creating a desperate need for plus size clothing in every type of attire.

Whether it is in the office environment, a night out on the town, or casual at home wear, we all deserve to look and feel as comfortable and stylish as we can.

Having clothing available in plus sizes or king sizes in no way endorses being overweight, but it does make it possible for those who need larger sized clothing to be able to dress appropriately. Teen and even pre-teen aged children are found to be heavier than in prior years, and this has been attributed to watching too much television or playing video games. Whatever the cause, the fact is these children deserve to dress well.

The larger department store chains, and smaller boutiques at the mall, have increasingly expanded their lines of clothing to include more plus size clothing for the many that need these sizes.

Men have their own issues when it comes to a proper fit in their clothing. A very tall man, slim to average in build, needs to have a longer inseam on their pants and longer sleeves on his shirts. He may not need them to be wider, merely longer. Along side him, is the average yet obese man, who has no need for those extra long pants or sleeves, he merely needs things a bit wider and roomier.

Women, who may be athletic in build and are taller than an average woman, most likely have no need for expanded waist lines or bust lines. They require longer sleeves on their tops and longer inseams regarding their pants. The woman, who is short in stature and wider in their proportions, will again have no need for extra length in the inseam of their pants, nor do they require the extra length in sleeves for their tops. What they do need is expanded waist lines on their pants and more room for their ample breast size.

Plus size clothing covers all the size issues for both men and women, allowing them to feel comfortable about themselves, as well as comfortable in the attire they wear in any situation.

Espadrille Shoes Are the New Fashion and Style Icons

Most of the celebrities, sportsmen, singers and artists have something in common always. They keep themselves up to date with the latest fashion trends of the market. One of the most talked about footwear in the latest fashion trends can be the Espadrille shoes. Most of the times people used to face a problem in buying a proper size shoe when they had larger feet. But now with the espadrilles these problems are resolved. People have now become conscious about the choice of footwear they wear and these shoes serve the best to them in case of comfort and suitability. These shoes have their origin from Pyrenees. They are usually casual, flat or high heeled sandals. The most unique feature of these shoes is the sole which is made out of rope material or a rubber material giving them a look of a rope. They are made out of canvas or cotton fabric. These shoes are used as one of the running shoes in areas around France especially in Estonia where they are highly popular.

The word espadrille has its origin from a French word 'esperdaniya' which on the other hand is derived from a Spanish word called 'esparto'. Esparto is a kind of Mediterranean grass which is rough and tough and is used in the manufacture of ropes. Since the sole of these shoes is also rough and hard therefore the material used to manufacture the lower end of these shoes is also similar. Catalonia is the place where the manufacture of these shoes began around the 14th century. With the passage of time there are a number of traditional shops in and around Catalonia in today's date. Most of the famous designers from all around the world design these shoes both for men and women. In ancient times a different kind of shoes used to be worn by the ladies and gents in this era. The designing and styling of traditional shoes is very different from the contemporary one. With the time passing away drastically and the technology also advancing at a rapid pace, the kind of designs that have come in the international market for these shoes is extraordinary. These shoes make sure that once you wear them, you will certainly feel your feet to be smooth and comfortable.

They offer the best quality at a good price. The best place to shop for these shoes is the online market where more options are available rather than on a local shoes store. Also most of these websites offer a good difference in price than the ones available at the local market. A number of discounts and good deals are the main source of attraction for most of the online buyers.

How Fashion and Style Defines a Person

People say that we must not care about what others think about us. Furthermore, human beings are expected to act by themselves. But as the cliché goes, no man is an island. There will come a time that we should consider the opinion and perspective of others. In doing so, we should be able to consider them in such a manner that these opinions and perspectives will not influence the way they treat us.

Of course, there are times that people are judged on how they look. If you want to look good in the eyes of other people then you can always start by keeping up with fashion trends. You don't really need to have that perfect sense of style. By dressing modestly, you can instantly show other people that you are not to be trifled with. Yes, you might not care about what they think of you, but, it is important that you wear clothes that are in accordance with how you would want them to treat you.

Your character and personality reflect the way you look at yourself. The way others perceive you is also affected by your appearance. This may sound a bit judgmental, but as human beings, we are all victims of this fact when it comes to the superficial aspects of our kind.

Fashion Norms - Conservative Vs. Provocative

We have all been taught to avoid wearing short dresses and shirts that are too tight. Of course, this is applicable if you want to maintain a conservative and modern look. If you can notice, by simply wearing loose tops and a good pair of pants, the possibility of being harassed by perverts will decrease exponentially. Wearing appropriate types of clothing can lead you to the path towards leaving a good image. In that regard, if you want to look conservative than provocative, then you might want to stop wearing clothes that can catch too much attention.

Creativity is one aspect that can easily be seen by the way you dress yourself. A lot of people can tell whether you are simple or extravagant by just looking at the clothes you have on. If you are the simple and preserved kind of person, then you can go with the conventional outfit, safe style of hair and accessories.

On the contrary, flashy types of people want to get attention by trying on various colorful fashion accessories and clothes. They always prefer seeing heads turning each time they pass by. These bold individuals are commonly seen with the trendiest dresses, shoes, and other accessories. Aside from that, we can normally see these people wearing wigs. Although this might seem funny, there are those who prefer styling their hair by wearing wigs.

When all is said and done, this world is still just as superficial as we all perceive it to be. In our modern era, one thing's for sure - that whether you like it or not, you will still be judged according to how you look, and how you appear to other people.

Princess Diana Fashion and Style

Diana, Princess of Wales was born on July 1st, 1961 and died on 31st August, 1997. Princess Diana was an international style icon of the 1980s. Her looks and her life were the reflection of consistent work she did on herself as well as the development of her personality. As she matured, she became more attractive. She was indeed the most photographed woman in the whole world.

Things that she wore including her shoes, handbag, jewelry and hat were commented on. She had established a contemporary and appropriate style of royal dressing. Before, Princess Di's engagement, her dress style and make up style was not sophisticated. As a young England Kindergarten assistant, she wore clothes that suited her position and made her feel comfortable. After her engagement, things took a different turn and her image became traditional and very British. In the beginning, it was difficult for her to follow what kind of clothes she was expected to wear and was often criticized for her dressing style.

Slowly, she found her way into a new world of ceremonial costumes, occasion dressing, coordinated shoes, tiara, hats and handbags. She used to take advice and help from the deputy editor of Vogue and experiment with new designers. Her public life in the beginning was too coordinated and she even mentioned, "Clothes are not my priority." Having learnt to master the art of dressing, Diana became conscious of dressing. She wore bright and cheerful clothes whenever she visited children at the hospital. She felt that wearing such bright and cheerful colors had positive effect on the children. Over a period of five years, she wore those colorful clothes frequently to hospitals as she knew children loved those colors very much. What made Diana popular was her modern approach towards life. She had the ability to appear chic and cool even in the simplest attire.

Things began to change after her divorce as she became an independent woman. She added a different sense to her fashion style and started wearing designer clothes including Valentino, Versace, John Galliano, Lacroix and Ungaro. Her new image was that of a young and confident woman. Her sense of style was shining and everything about her dress sense and body language pointed to a self confident woman in total control of her life. Her use of color became subtle and her hairstyle changed to modern and sophisticated. Diana had a style, a star quality that was natural.
