Use the site’s car value tool to find out the MSRP and the dealer invoice of a car as well as a range of prices you can expect to see at dealerships. TrueCar is also helpful to use. You can search for and request pricing on any make, model, or year of car. You may get a slew of phone calls, emails, and texts from dealers immediately after, but having information from different dealerships can help you negotiate prices. You should also visit dealer sites to look for rebate offers.

5. Research your trade-in’s value
If you have a trade-in, don’t wait for the salesperson to tell you what it’s worth. On Kelley Blue Book, you can get a sense of the value ahead of time so you know if you’re receiving a good offer. 6. Test drive potential purchases

So he recommends digging deeper, especially for used cars. “Services like CARFAX represent that they can tell you about the car’s life from first purchase forward, so that might be a good place to start,” he says. He also recommends checking the title, which you can do online via the DMV

8. Find repair records
In addition to checking the repair history on the specific car you are interested in, Autotrader suggests looking up the repair record of the make and model. “Check J.D. Power and Consumer Reports reliability ratings to see if the vehicle you’re considering is known to be a reliable one,” the site states. It also recommends Internet forums and word of mouth.

9. Spring for an inspection
Autotrader also suggests telling the seller you require an inspection from a mechanic before purchase to ensure there aren’t any problems. “While a mechanic may charge $100 or more for such an inspection, it can be worth it if it saves you from thousands of dollars in potential repairs,” it recommends. Some sellers may try to dismiss a mechanic’s inspection. Don’t give in — the seller could be covering up a serious issue with the car. Insist an inspection is done, or rethink your purchase.

10. Know your rights
For any new or used car, take the time to get familiar with the warranty package and return policies. Do you need to supplement the warranty? Is there a lemon law in your state? Currently, there are only six states that have one, so be sure to check.

Registering a Company procedures in Tanzania

1.Propose a name of a business and submit it to Brela
Here you have to seat down and careful search for suitable name to your business that can be used to identify your business,write down 3 business names arrange them according to your priority,which your supposed to submit them to Brela office,Brela will look on their database if the proposed name are not used by any Company to approve your Business name .

2.Find a Notary person(legal person)for a declaration of compliance.
This is the person who deals with legal contracts visit their office they can prepare the Memorandum of the Company and article association for you it costs from 10,000-50,000Tzs.

3.Do application of incorporation and get a certificate of incorporation.
To apply for a certificate of incorporation done at Tanzania Investment Centre click here, a subscriber, secretary, or a person named in the articles of association as a director must submit the following to the Registrar of Companies:

4.Apply for Taxpayer Identification number(TIN)
Go to Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA)TIN registration is free of charge. The Certificate of incorporation shall be attached to the TIN application enclosed with Memorandum and Articles of Associations when a person makes application to TRA.

The limited company shall apply for TIN certificate by filling TIN application forms as follows:

Application for the company

Application for each shareholders/directors, in case any director has already issued with TIN certificates for other purpose he/she cannot make another application. The same TIN number will be used.

At least one of the directors of the company must be physically present at the tax office to give their fingerprints (biometric data). The applicant must visit TRA offices to pick up the TIN number in person. The company will be required to declare its estimated income or turnover for the provision tax assessment for the particular year. 5.Apply for a business licence at the ministry industry trade(MIT) and local government authorities.
The business license is either issued by the Ministry of Industry and Trade or the Local Authorities depending on the nature of the business. Together with the application, the following documents must be submitted:

6.Apply for VAT certificate at TRA
Every business that has an initial capital registration of 50mi millions for the first six months of a business or 100 millions in a year are required to register for value added tax. The tax is not directly affecting MSMEs but rather incured by the last consumer. To register for vat one has to go to the nearby TRA office to obtain papers for registration. We Don’t Make The Best Employees

Want to know a something? I have been fired from so many jobs. The common understanding is that most entrepreneurs are notoriously unemployable. We are systems busters who want to improve things that are broken.We don’t follow rules that don’t make sense to us. It’s almost against our moral code. We can pretend for a while, but after a while, our true colors come out, shortly followed by the job ax.

The Thought Of Working For Someone Else Is Basically Unbearable

The thought of getting a job and working for someone else's company is one of my driving fears. When I get frustrated with building my own business, I consider the other option, working for someone else, and I dig deeper into my commitment to my business. I remember the days when all I wanted was to work for myself full-time, and that helps me remember how lucky I am.

We Have Something To Prove

Can I tell you that I will ask anyone for anything? Why? Because I believe in myself and my business, I work hard and I know the worst thing someone can say to me is 'no'. And guess what? Even after I hear, ‘no’, I will ask for the same thing again in a couple months- if I still am interested in whatever that ask was. What's so bad about the word ‘no’ that it stops people from requesting for what they want? I really don’t understand it. I guess that’s why I’m an entrepreneur. I have heard no thousands of times. While I am sure I'll continue to hear it, I think I will start hearing it less and less as my company becomes more successful.

We've Become Comfortable With Failure

Failure and Entrepreneur go hand in hand. The word fail should be part of the word entrepreneur. The word should be ‘entre-fail-neur’. Entrepreneurs know that failure is just part of the process. I fail every day in one way or another. And that’s ok. If I’m not failing then I’m not stretching, learning, doing something new. I’m failing towards success.

Creating a series is also a good way to do this – something you already do for your blog, and it will work on Instagram as well.

3.Create an attractive business bio
Your bio, your photo and the newest items in your feed are the first things an Instagram user will see upon loading your profile, so they better make an impression if you want people to follow your channel.Pay attention to your bio on Instagram.Call to action,Bio at least 150 characters, Write your mission statement (your niche in which you are blogging, what type of readers you aim to help and why or how). You can fit all these in just a couple of clear sentences. Also, remember to include a link to your blog in your bio.

You can add some personal images to bond with your readers (like photos where you use certain products you promote, images from blogging conferences from your niche or just friendly selfies from time to time). Be careful to not overdo it. You need followers that are attracted by the topic you blog about.

You can access your Posts Insights by following the steps below:

Go to your Facebook Page.
You will see “See Insights” above your Page, click it.
You will see your Insights overview from there, find the Posts tab and click it.
Hover your mouse on the day you want your post to be scheduled and you will able to see the best hours that your fans are online.

Alternatively, tools like HootSuite and Sprout Social will help you find the data and metrics you need including what type of post you should be using for your social media copies.

6. Create and Schedule Your Status Updates

The average daily active user on Facebook is 757 million, according to a January 2014 report. And a certain percentage of those millions of people could be your next potential customers.

If you want to use Facebook to maximum advantage, you need to post contents for your target audience with consistency. Your goals should be either to educate, to entertain, or to empower them.

Integrating Facebook Plugins on your website will give you more advantages on branding awareness and followers increase on Facebook. For blogs or websites with sidebars, you may want to use the Facebook Like Box or Like Button.

For your website pages and blog posts, it is best to use the Like Button, although you can use them both! You may want to consider doing experiments on what’s the best Facebook plug-in for your website.

You may hate it, but investing on Facebook ads will give your business a lift especially if you’re a start-up or a small business.

If you sell products, you might want to give one of your products as a prize; whereas if you provide services, perhaps a free 1-hour consultation, designs, or any of your service can be used as the prize. Make sure that everybody can join and don’t forget to promote it!

10. Use the “@ feature” in Facebook

Using the @ feature for Facebook will let your fans feel that they are important and are part of your business page. The Facebook @ feature will let you tag people or even other Facebook pages.

Show gratitude and enthusiasm by using Facebook @ feature whenever your fans appreciate or ask something about your business because it can build a fruitful relationship and loyalty between your business and your customers.

11. Develop a Facebook Customized Page Tab or Apps

A custom page tab/app is a great option if you want to offer an exclusive advantage for your fans. It allows new visitors to see details of your events, contest, opt-in forms, or deals, which can help you gain more fans and likes.

According to Socially Stacked, 42% of fans like a page to get a coupon or discount. Another study by Wildfire Interactive showed that coupon-based campaigns received the highest engagement rates.

Once a person shared your content through Facebook and other social media sites, their friends can easily see those links on their Facebook profile and news feed.

You could also gain a share from them, which will make the process repeatable in a sense that it can also be shared by their friends of friends—possibly making it viral. This will also help increase your website traffic.

Digg Digg by Buffer displays all popular social sharing buttons with count.

Flare
Although the plug-in isn’t in active development anymore, it features eye-catching and simple social sharing bar that lets your content gets shared.

Mashshare
Mashshare sharing plug-in is a high-performance share functionality inspired by Mashable. The beautifully designed big buttons of “Share on Facebook” and “Tweet on Twitter” are my favorite.

For paid social media sharing plug-in, I use Ultimate Social Deux.

On this blog, I use both Ultimate Social Deux and Digg Digg.

13. Engage with Your Facebook Community

Engaging and talking with your community on Facebook could build a strong relationship, trust, and loyalty. The most exciting result about this is that they can also turn into your repeat customers or potential leads.

Facebook can also be used as one of your customer support hubs.

14. Engage with Other Facebook Pages

You might want to engage with other Facebook pages using your Facebook page account. Find those Facebook pages where your customers hang out.

Your comment will serve as a link toward your page that can lead to an additional like or following (see below image). You could convert those “likes as fans” into “likes for conversions.”

15. Use Images and Videos for Your Content Updates

People love images and videos; they can also be seen easily on Facebook News Feed, which makes them easy to engage with.

Wishpond’s data says that posts that include photos receive 120% more engagement than the average post, while posts that include photo albums received 180% more engagement.

Hot Facebook Marketing Tip:
You might want to put a call-to-action text with shortened links on each of your photo descriptions toward your website to gain traffic. My favorite resource for this is Bitly.

Why shortened links? Shorter posts get 23% more interaction. Posts with 250 characters can get you 60% more engagement while posts with less than 80 characters can help you gain 66 % more engagement.

16. Create or Join Facebook Groups

Facebook groups have three types of privacy: open, closed, and secret. These different types also serve different functions and ways to use.

Open Group. Anyone can see the group, who’s in it, and what members post.Open groups are mainly used to build awareness, authority, and interest in your brand. This is the best group if you want to establish yourself as an expert and to network with others in your industry. The main focus that you should do on open groups is not selling but rather participation and interactions.

Closed Group. Anyone can see the group and who’s in it. Only members see posts.Closed groups are best to use for customer support purposes. For example, we are using Closed Group for one of my clients’ current customers who want to share ideas with other users. We also use this for customer support and solve problems.

Secret Group. Only members see the group, who’s in it, and what members post.Secret members-only groups are great for higher-level discussions that need confidentiality. For example, since I manage lots of teams, companies, and businesses, we use secret groups for collaboration and follow-ups.Other companies find the secret group useful as one way to network with their clients or customers especially for those on coaching, training, or consulting industry.

Traditionally, Tanzanians have had to save their own money for years in order to build or buy their dream home. However, nowadays, more and more banks have started offering mortgages and it is slowly becoming a popular way for some Tanzanians to finance their homes.

What exactly is a mortgage?

A mortgage is a legal agreement whereby a bank lends you money to be paid back with interest within a specific period of time, in exchange for taking the title of your property until the debt has been repaid.

While still relatively new, according to Tanzania Invest, the mortgage market in Tanzania has made some progress and experienced an overall 13% increase in 2016. However, the mortgage market still only contributes to less than 1% of the GDP. This is not because people in Tanzania don’t need home loans, but that they are unaware of their options and so do not utilise the services available to them.

Luckily, we’ve got a list of 8 banks in Tanzania that offer mortgage loans.

Equity Bank:

Equity bank commands about 24 percent of the mortgage market share in Tanzania. This Kenyan bank’s success stems from having already effectively developed its mortgage services in the Kenyan market.

Equity offers loans of up to 80% of the value of the property
The debt needs to be paid within 10 years.
The interest rate for a loan to build or buy a home is just below 15%
The interest rate to buy a plot of land is 16%

Stanbic Bank

Stanbic Bank holds 14% of the mortgage market share, making it the second most popular mortgage loan provider in Tanzania. Like Equity Bank, Stanbic offers home loans of up to 80% of the value of the property. However, you get more time to pay the debt back as the repayment period is 15 years.

Azania Bank

Azania Bank has about 11% of the mortgage market share in Tanzania. To get a home loan with them, they require:

An Azania bank account with a balance of 20% of the loan amount
The interest rate is 19% per year, however, the rate reduces as years go by.
The total amount of repayment period is 15 years.

CRDB

CRDB, the biggest bank in Tanzania, offers a unique mortgage service called ‘Jijenge’, whereby you can get a loan to pay for construction materials to build a home. With the Jijenge program you get:

A loan of up to 90% of the building material costs
An interest rate of 18% (though may increase depending on account)
A 25 year period to repay the loan

National Microfinance Bank (NMB)

NMB Bank, the second biggest bank in Tanzania, provides loans of up to 80% of the value of the house you want to buy. It also offers a relatively flexible repayment plan, as long as the debt has been cleared by 15 years from when you got the loan.

National Bank of Commerce (NBC)

NBC offers mortgages for a number of circumstances, including:

Buying an already completed home (NBC covers up to 80% of the cost of the home)
Building a home (NBC covers up to 80% of the building material)
Renovating a home or finishing an already started home (the home should be at least 50% complete)
Re-mortgaging: Moving your loan from another bank to NBC

Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB)

KCB offers it’s customers a loan of up to 80% of the total cost of an already completed home. In order to qualify for the loan you must provide:

A bank statement from the last 6-months
Sales agreement
A recent salary slip if you are employed
Property valuation report approved by KCB

Diamond Trust Bank (DTB)

DTB entered the mortgage market in 2016, and quickly became a go-to bank for home loans. Their loans vary from 80% and below, and interest rates also depend on individual cases.

As mentioned before, the Tanzanian mortgage market is relatively new, and as a result, it definitely has it’s shortcomings like high-interest rates and long application processes. However, it will only get better as more and more people start to think of mortgages when they are considering ways to finance their homes.

The contractor is also a prime beneficiary of the White House’s defense budget increase, as well as new arms deals with the likes of Saudi Arabia: Lockheed’s stock price has risen some 26% over the past year, handily beating the S&P, while revenue jumped 17% in 2016.

Fidelity posted $15.9 billion in revenue in 2016—its fourth consecutive record year—while assets under administration climbed some 11%, to $5.7 trillion. In response, Johnson, who assumed her father’s chairman title in 2016, is goosing other parts of the business—lowering fees on passive investing products and allowing customers to track their Bitcoin holdings.

Facebook’s blockbuster 2016 ad revenue growth (57%, to $26.9 billion) propelled the company—and its stock price—to new heights under Sandberg. The pressure on Rometty keeps growing—as IBM’s revenue continues to shrink. In July the tech behemoth reported that sales had contracted yet again, marking its 21st consecutive quarter of decline. Earlier, in May, famed investor Warren Buffett sold off a third of his company’s shares in IBM, sending the stock tumbling. But there are bright spots too. Revenue from newer businesses like analytics, cloud, mobile, and security now account for 45.6% of sales, up nearly five percentage points from the year before.

Nearly two years after cleaving HP in half in the biggest split by revenue in corporate history, Whitman has continued trimming divisions off the piece she still runs. That’s meant that sales for HPE, which specializes in servers and networking systems, are still decreasing, even as its profits have started growing again. Still, five years since unveiling her plan to rescue HP, Whitman—who was a finalist for the Uber CEO job—is now under pressure to deliver on the promised results, namely revenue growth.

As co-CEO, Catz is leading a major expansion: hiring 5,000-plus new engineers, salespeople, and other staff to beef up the enterprise tech giant’s cloud business. The division, Oracle’s fastest-growing, brought in $4.6 billion in the company’s last fiscal year, up 60% from the one prior. Catz also spearheaded the 2016 $9.3 billion acquisition of NetSuite, the largest deal in Oracle’s history. In her spare time she oversees a $3.5 billion company investment in STEM initiatives and was on President Trump’s transition team.

How to Bank Online

If you’re just getting started, there are two ways to bank online:

Use your existing bank.
Open a new account (possibly with an online-only bank).

Use Your Existing Bank or Credit Union

If you already have a bank account, you’re halfway there. Almost every bank or credit union offers online services — it’s just a matter of using them. At a minimum, it’s a good idea to sign up with your bank’s app or website, and it might also be worth looking into online-only banks.

Sign on: To start banking online with your existing account, you’ll need to sign up for electronic services. In most cases, that’s just a matter of going to the bank’s website, looking for “Online Banking” or something similar, and clicking “Register” when asked for a username and password.

If you use mobile devices, you can do everything there instead — just download your bank’s app and register for a username and password.

Ask for help: If the process is confusing for you, don’t hesitate to call (or visit) your bank and ask somebody to walk you through the process. They are eager to get you online because you’ll handle routine service requests on your own and use up less staff time in the future.

Open New Accounts Online

If you don’t have a bank account anywhere (or you’re going to try an online-only bank), it’s time to open an account. A fully-operational bank account allows you to save a lot of time and money, and banking online helps you make even better use of your time.

Online-only? First, decide if you want to use an online-only bank (which does not have any brick-and-mortar branches). Online-only banks are more likely to offer higher rates on savings accounts and free checking. However, physical branches provide valuable services that you can’t get from an internet-only bank.

A combination of banks: The good news is that you can have the best of both worlds — use an account at a brick-and-mortar bank or credit union and open an account at an online-only bank. Internet banks are almost always free accounts (assuming you don’t bounce checks or overdraw your account) so it shouldn’t cost anything extra to keep another account.

Online account opening: If you want to start banking online, you might as well start by opening your account online. Most banks now allow you to complete your application entirely online (read about how that works – it’s easy).

Things You Can Do Online

Once you’re up and running, it’s time to start using your account.

You can keep it simple if you like and just view your account balances. But if you're ready for more, you can move on to more advanced tasks.

Pay bills: One of the most useful features of online banking is free online bill payment. Instead of writing checks and mailing in payments, you can have your bank do all of that for you — plus you’ll save money on stamps. Learn how to pay your bills online.

Earn more: Online banks are a great place for your savings. Most online accounts pay more than traditional brick-and-mortar accounts, and internet-only accounts pay the best rates (typically with no fees or minimum account balances). Online banks also offer money market accounts and certificates of deposit (CDs) if you want to earn even more.

Get free checking (possibly with interest): It’s getting harder to find free checking accounts at brick-and-mortar banks, but free checking is the norm at online banks. In fact, an online bank might even pay you interest on the cash in your checking account.

Deposit checks: If you’ve got a mobile device with a camera, you can probably use it to deposit checks into your account — any time of day or night. You don’t need to find the time to make a trip to the branch or wait for the mail to deliver those checks to your bank. Learn how to deposit checks with a mobile device.

Along similar lines, if you’re still getting your wages paid by check, why not have the money automatically deposited to your bank account? Your employer will get funds to you more quickly if you sign up for direct deposit.

Send money: Need to pay a friend for your share of dinner or rent? There are several easy ways to send money to somebody without writing a check or digging for exact change. Most banks offer services for making person-to-person payments, while other services (think PayPal) simply act as a front-end to access your bank account.

Move money: You can also move funds between your own bank accounts. If you want to transfer funds from one bank to another — or just from checking to savings at a single bank — an app or website makes it easy. You can even buy CDs with cash that you don’t need to spend anytime soon.

Research history: Need to know how much you paid for a particular item (or your average monthly utility bill)? That information is probably in your banking history, and you can look it up online. You can download statements and images of checks you’ve written if you need documentation for anything, or you can just review transactions to keep fraud out of your account.

Go paperless: You rarely need paper statements, and those papers just create clutter and make things easier for identity thieves. You can also save resources, including the paper used for printing, ink, plastic, and fuel used to ship those documents month after month. If you ever need a statement (when getting a mortgage, for example), you can always print the one or two you actually need.

Use financial tools: It’s wise to track your finances. If you know where your money goes, you’ll make better spending decisions and it’s easier to reach your financial goals. There are numerous third-party tools to help you do categorize your spending and build budgets (including Mint, among others), and your bank might already have built-in personal finance management tools. Going online allows you to download transactions or authorize your software to automatically get the information needed.

Know your balance: If you need to know exactly how much you have in your account — and how much is really available for spending — the best place to get that information is online.

Get help: If you need help with service issues, try taking care of business online. Especially if you’re not in a hurry, it might be easiest to send electronic requests to a customer service agent instead of calling. Self-service options are also available, and that may even be your fastest option. You can change your address, order copies of checks, and handle other routine tasks yourself.

Borrow money: In addition to deposit accounts (like checking and savings accounts), you can also borrow online. Traditional banks let you fill out applications, and newer online lenders make borrowing completely different — it’s easier to get approved, faster, and possibly even less expensive to borrow.

How to Stay Safe Online

Online banking makes life easier, but it also creates opportunities for thieves.

Fortunately, you’re probably safer when you take your finances online. Security features at financial institutions are robust, and you don’t have to worry about old-fashioned techniques like mail theft and forged checks. In fact, the U.S. Government encourages everybody to receive Social Security (and other benefits) via direct deposit, in part to reduce fraud.

Some fraud is out of your control, but your behavior is important — and it’s fairly easy to stay safe:

Information requests: Think twice before you provide personal information online. Your bank will never contact you by phone, email, or text and ask for your account number, Social Security Number, password, or PIN (those requests are almost always phishing scams).
Security software: Keep your devices up to date (including operating system updates, spyware and malware programs, and antivirus protection), you’ll be immune to most threats. Avoid using old, unsupported computers for financial transactions.
Public places: Avoid using public networks to access bank accounts(including free hotspots at coffee shops, and even hotel networks). If possible, save those tasks for when you’re at home or at work on a network you trust. If you have to conduct business while out and about, use your phone’s cellular data connection instead. Likewise, public computers (like those found at libraries) are not a good option for online banking.

If your account is affected by fraud or errors, there’s a decent chance that you’ll be protected (in your personal accounts — your business accounts are another matter). Federal law protects consumers from certain unauthorized transfers, but you have to notify your bank of any problems quickly to get maximum protection.

What's the best way to determine how much each president contributed to the $21 trillion U.S. debt? The most popular method is to compare the debt level from when a president enters office to the debt level when he leaves. A good visual representation is a graph showing the percent of the debt accumulated under each president. You can also compare the debt as a percent of economic output.

But these aren't accurate ways to measure the debt created by each president.

Why? The president doesn't have much control over the debt added during his first year in office. That's because the budget for that fiscal year was already set by the previous president.

For example, President Bush took office in January 2001. He submitted his first budget in February. But that was for FY 2002, which didn't begin until October 1. For the first nine months of his new term, Bush had to live with President Clinton's last budget. That was FY 2001, which continued until September 30, 2001. This is why no new president is accountable for the budget deficit in his first year in office.

Yes, it's confusing. But the federal fiscal year is set up that way to give the new president time to put together his budget during his first month in office.

The Best Way to Measure Debt by President
One way to measure the debt by president is to sum his budget deficits. That's because the president is responsible for his budget priorities.

Each year's deficit takes into account budgeted spending and anticipated revenue from proposed tax cuts or hikes. For details, see Deficit by President.

But there's a difference between the deficit and the debt by president. That's because all presidents can employ a sleight of hand to reduce the appearance of the deficit.

They can borrow from federal retirement funds. For example, the Social Security Trust Fund has run a surplus since 1987. That's because there were more working people contributing via payroll taxes than retired people withdrawing benefits. The Fund invests its surplus in U.S. Treasury notes. The president can reduce the deficit by spending these funds instead of issuing new Treasurys.

Barack Obama -- Under President Obama, the national debt grew the most dollar-wise. He added $7.917 trillion, a 68 percent increase, in seven years. This was the fifth-largest increase percentage-wise. Obama's budgets included the economic stimulus package. It added $787 billion by cutting taxes, extending unemployment benefits, and funding public works projects. The Obama tax cuts added $858 billion to the debt in two years.

Obama's budget increased defense spending to between $700 billion and $800 billion a year. Federal income was down, thanks to lower tax receipts from the 2008 financial crisis. He also sponsored the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. It was designed to reduce the debt by $143 billion over 10 years. But these savings didn't show up until the later years.

George W. Bush -- President Bush added $5.849 trillion, the second-greatest amount.

It was the fourth-largest percentage increase. Bush increased the debt 101 percent from where it started on September 30, 2001, at $5.8 trillion. That's the end of FY 2001, which was President Clinton's last budget. Bush launched the War on Terror in response to the 9/11 attacks. The War on Terror included two wars. The War in Afghanistan cost $1 trillion and the Iraq War cost $807.5 billion. They increased military spending to record levels of $600 billion to $800 billion a year.

President Bush also responded to the 2001 recession by passing EGTRRA and JGTRRA. The Bush tax cuts further reduced revenue. He approved a $700 billion bailout package for banks to combat the 2008 global financial crisis. Both Presidents Bush and Obama had to contend with higher mandatory spending for Social Security and Medicare.

Franklin D. Roosevelt -- President Roosevelt increased the debt the most percentage-wise. Although he only added $236 billion, this was a 1,048 percent increase from the $23 billion debt level left by President Hoover. Of course, the Great Depression took an enormous bite out of revenues. The New Deal cost billions. But FDR's major contribution to the debt was World War II spending. He added $209 billion to the debt between 1942 and 1945.

Woodrow Wilson -- President Wilson was the second-largest contributor to the debt percentage-wise. He added $21 billion, which was a 727 percent increase over the $2.9 billion debt of his predecessor. Wilson had to pay for World War I. During his presidency, the Second Liberty Bond Act gave Congress the right to adopt the national debt ceiling.
