Smile if you wet the bed!

2012-06-18T15:11:00.000-04:00

Yet another shot of me at our lunch date last week, but with an added twist: a caption from the super funny app, I'd Cap That.
According to the caption, I wet the bed. Thanks for this one, Matt.

New and Improved?

2012-06-04T00:11:00.001-04:00

After forever and a day of not posting, I thought I would just call it quits.
But after my two best guy friends found my blog, and teased me relentlessly, it's coming back. But not without change.
Instead of me posting regular posed daily outfit shots, the following pictures will be the photos they snap of my outfits without me paying attention. You can find them on twitter as well, hashtagged #mustlovecolor.

Here's the first one.

Lunch date with Deven and Matt.

coffee date

2012-01-05T18:42:00.000-05:00

{Coat, Sweater, Scarf, Jeans, Earrings: The Limited, Shoes: Mossimo}

I adore this outfit. I've worn this outfit in it's completeness about 4 times since the end of December. Ha. I just love it. I love the colors, I loves the fit, I love these jeans.

I wore this little number to get coffee with a friend I haven't seen since before this past semester! She's been in France, so it's been so long! We met at Starbucks, of course. Then after coffee, I emptied my piggy bank at the change counter at the bank, and made...wait for it...just wait...here it comes...$102.66! Holy cow, er, pig! I've never been so excited. Instead of being responsible and saving it, I'm going shopping. See ya!

P.S. This booty shot above was just too funny for me NOT to post it, so I did. I've been workin' them glutes at the gym. #flexin

sequined cocktails

2012-01-05T01:28:00.000-05:00

Hi everyone! Since I'm not currently at school, and I haven't been working too much, I haven't actually been getting dressed. If I'm not catching up on my sleep, I'm working out at the gym, and gym clothes (although cute!) are not what I'm looking to photograph...so in the meantime, check out my design blog!

I started sequined cocktails as a part of a class for a grade, but I've been updating it recently with a few little doodles and designs I've created. I want to make them into cards one day! What do you all think? Let me know your favorite designs!

kissing 2011 goodbye!
{Top, Jeans, Jewelry: The Limited, Shoes: Mossimo, Jacket: LOFT}

Happy New Year! NYE is the night of all nights to get all dolled up and look freaking fantastic. Our plans started out huge, then turned to dinner and a girl's night in. We still had a ton of fun though! My best friend Amy and I went to dinner with our best guy friends, and then back to her house for movies and drinks :)

Since the original plans included 8 guys and 5 girls, I didn't want to get too dressed up, so I went for a cute top and jeans. Otherwise, I would have gone all out with a sequined dress! I loved the petal details all over the one shoulder. Since it was a one shoulder top, i did big earrings, and I stacked those bracelets on my "naked" arm. Simple twist up-do, and dark washed jeans were all that was needed. And a pair of killer shoes. Always a pair of killer shoes.

merry christmas!

2011-12-30T17:47:00.000-05:00

{Dress, Tights, Belt, Bracelets: The Limited, Shoes: Charlotte Russe, Ring: Premiere Designs, Necklace: Silpada}

Merry Christmas! I hope everyone got all the presents, family time, and delicious food that they wanted! I definitely got a great gift--my new digital camera! I absolutely love the quality of these photos, and it has a really neat timer setting that makes it perfect to take these picture by myself (although my brother did help out with these!)

I really wanted to get all dolled up for church today, since it was Christmas. I wore this lovely little party dress from The Limited, cute patterned tights, and channeled my inner Adele with the giant bun. This outfit made for one classy Christmas!

all that glitters is gold

2011-12-30T17:18:00.000-05:00

Happy New Year (almost!) and welcome back! I'm excited for a variety of reasons, and I'll get to that in one moment. But first, an explanation on my lack of blogging! I have three good reasons:

School was very time consuming this semester,
I worked a lot on the weekends, and got more into the social scene ;)
My digital camera that my boyfriend bought me ironically broke the weekend we broke up (seriously, complete coincidence!)

But looky here:

I'm off for a month, so I have plenty of blogging time,
I'm still working, but not partying so much over break i.e. more blogging time!
I got a brand new Cannon PowerShot A3300 IS camera! (no clue what all that stuff before the word 'camera' means, but it takes great pics!)

A few more things:

gold and glitter are my new favorite colors
I used to hate New Years, but I love it now! Plenty of new opportunities for self-improvement, my newest thing
I'm dating a new guy, and his name is Gym (I told you I love self-improvement!)
I'm working on a novel. When it comes out in the next three years, if you mention this post, I'll autograph it for you.

That's if for now! See you all soon!

rehearsal dinner

2011-09-17T23:28:00.000-04:00

{Dress: Blue Tassel, Wedges: BCBG, Clutch: Vera Bradley, Headband: The Limited}

I wore this outfit to my cousin's rehearsal dinner back in August (which by the way, wasn't so long ago, so there). I ordered this dress on Swirl, and it's from Blue Tassel. I love it, except it's super itchy where the tag is. I'm gonna need to cut it out.

Isn't the embroidery gorgeous? It's what really drew me to the dress. Just simply in love with it all. The color, texture, everything.

My hair fell out all night, and it really irritated me. It needs to be a little longer, and I think it will stay up better. Cute, no?

first day of school

2011-09-17T22:35:00.000-04:00

{Shirt & Belt: The Limited, Skirt: Tommy Hilfiger, Sandals: Steve Madden}

Happy first day of school! :) I love the first day of school, because it is a fresh start. I promise to take better notes, complete all of my homework on time, and swear to never wear sweatpants. So far, so good.

I wore this on Monday, the first first day of school, cause in college, there are multiple first days of school. And multiple first days of school mean multiple first day of school outfits. Mwah-ha-ha! Anyways, my friend and roomie-for-one-month Kalyn (find her at Preppy in Pittsburgh) said she always wears a white button-down and chino pants. I opted for a skirt instead, but still took the white button-down advice. See her full post here!

Also, Lewy, my little baby chinchilla (well, he's 7...) hoped in my purse today when I visited home. Awe, how cute! My mom said I should start carrying him around in my purse like Paris Hilton and her chihuahuas.

So, your homework tonight...

Check out Kalyn's blog,
Enjoy the multiple days of the week (in any week) to dress up,
and don't forget to add color!

orange crush

2011-09-04T21:58:00.000-04:00

{ Cardigan: The Limited, Shirt: LOFT, Skirt: Talbot's, Wedges: BCBG}

I bought this skirt, this $129.00 skirt for...guess it...$32.00! WHOO! #winning.

I love love love love love this skirt. But it was so tricky to style it. I'm anxious to wear it again soon, maybe with some pink or even some blue. Using that color wheel.

I'm wearing this skirt on the first day of my new internship. Yay for new internships!

vacay day five: black & white

2011-09-04T21:13:00.001-04:00

me and a REAL trainer!

{Shirt: Charlotte Russe, Skirt: LOFT, Sandals: Steve Madden, Sunglasses: Vera Bradley}

If you couldn't tell, SeaWorld has a lot of black and white animals! I knew we would be dining with Shamu today, so I put my best black and white together. It was super neat to eat a delicious dinner with Shamu (actually Orkid) and I got to talk to a real live trainer! :) It was super cool to hear how she got into the career, and her opinions and stories on everything!

Enjoy the fun animal shots!

{Headband & Shirt: The Limited, Sunglasses: Vera Bradley,

Skirt: Tommy Hilfiger, Clutch: Coach, Sandals: Steve Madden}

More pics from vacation! Boy have I been busy! Or lazy? Either way, here are more pictures from sunny San Diego! This was a Sunday, and we went to an ENORMOUS church called The Rock. Then we drove out to the Sandcastle Competition. There were SO many people and SO many cool sandcastles, but it was difficult to take pictures with the large amount of people. Onto the outfit...

I got this skirt for $11.30! I think I've said that before. This was the very first time I ever wore in. LOVE. I actually wore this skirt 3 times the week I bought it, but I wore it in San Diego, Pittsburgh, and Fairfax. Three different states means no one else knew I wore this 3 times in one week. #winning.

Tomorrow is September! Any guesses what the new color or theme will be?!

back to school!

2011-08-24T13:17:00.000-04:00

Here's a few items on my back to school list! I'm already planning my outfits, and being in college, I have multiple "first days" in one week! Always a reason to dress to impress!

Faux Leather Coat

The Limited, $148.00

I'm totally loving this jacket! It's a refreshing mix on the classic leather bomber, with the green color and the knit trim. And faux leather jackets are the perfect way of deciding if a real leather jacket would be a good investment for you. They are less expensive than real leather, so you can see how much you'll wear it, and how much you'll like it.

Colorblock Cardigan Sweater

The Limited, $29.94 Promotion

Color blocking is the trend to try this fall! I love that these colors work together, and don't clash (some color blocking trends are about using the same color in a different hue). This cardi would be great left open with a red dress for a really bold look, and it would look great with a pair of skinnies and red flats for a more laid back look.

Utility Shirt Dress

The Limited, $53.94 Promotion

Shirt dresses are super cute and functional, and I'm loving the navy color (September's color maybe?!). This dress looks great with bare legs, but will work well with tights when the days get a little cooler. And how cute would this dress be with the Peep Toe Oxford Wedges below?! This dress would also look really nice tucked into a skirt, so it would function more as a shirt. And no matter what belt you pair with this shirt dress, you'll always have a classy polished look!

678 Flare Trouser Jean

The Limited, $41.94 Promotion

These trouser jeans are perfect for 3 reasons: 1). they are jeans from The Limited. The Limited's jeans are probably the best thing that have ever been invented. 2). They have a flare to them, which is another fall trend. Not that skinnies aren't great, but a flare in a sea of skinnies is so refreshing! And 3). They are more tailored and have a trouser-like feel, meaning you can dress them up, and always dress them down. For those of you with office jobs, you could definitely wear these on casual Fridays with a crisp button-up and some statement jewelry!

Luggage Handle Satchel

The Limited, $41.94 Promotion

Available in Purple or Grey (pictured above)

This satchel is gorgeous. I love the short handle for carrying, and long strap for when you have things you need to carry in your hands (like a grande mocha latte, duh!). It's super cute with the tassel zippers, and it comes in purple and grey to match everyone's wardrobe.

Leather Mini Stud Skinny Belt

The Limited, $14.99 Sale

I've been coveting this belt at work for a loooong time now. It's so cute and girly because it's skinny, but also has that tough edge to it with the mini studs. This belt would give any overly girly outfit some edge, and would cinch any dress with a little bit of shine perfectly. It's also available in a darker grey.

Summer Chase Oxford Wedges

ThreadSense, $40.00

One word: OHEMGEE. Ha :) I sincerely LOVE these shoes. In fact, I'm going to the bank to deposit some money so I can purchase them myself! I hope they didn't sell out of my size yet! So what's to love about these shoes, well they have a great twist on the Oxford shoe. I do wear flats, but I love some height at 5'5". And the wedge makes them easier to walk in. The peep-toe detail shows off a nice autumn pedicure, and shows off a little bit of colored or patterned tights when fall arrives.

So there's my back to school list! Put a link in the comments section for the items you're coveting for back to school!

vacay day four

2011-08-24T12:47:00.000-04:00

{Cardigan: The Limited, Shirt: Charlotte Russe, Sunglasses: Vera Bradley}

I don't remember what pants I was wearing this day. I may not have worn pants even. Don't worry, I probably wore a skirt.

Here we are at SeaWorld on the sky thinger...uh...I dunno. You hop on, ride across the bay, and then hop off. Nothing major, but something to kill time.

vacay day three

2011-08-24T12:34:00.000-04:00

{Cardigan: Fashion Bug, Shirt & Skirt: LOFT, Clutch & Headband: The Limited,

Sunglasses: Vera Bradley, Shoes (not pictured): Me Too}

Here is one little picture of me at La Jolla Beach in San Diego over vacation. We went to La Jolla Beach, then to Fashion Valley Mall, where I went into my first ever kate spade new york store! :) I was in LOVE.

Look for more vacation pictures! I think I have a few more days stored on my computer here...

vacay day two

2011-08-15T23:43:00.000-04:00

{Cardigan, Shirt, & Clutch: The Limited, Shorts: LOFT, Shoes: Charlotte Russe}

This is another outfit from vacationing in the beautiful, sunny San Diego! We went to SeaWorld. Was that a surprise? :) We went to the shark exhibit, hence the gargantuan, mean, sharp teeth.

This outfit is like one of my favorites. The shirt will not wrinkle. So I love that. But this lovely cardigan gave me many problems (see visual above). In San Diego, and especially at SeaWorld, it's nice and cool in the mornings. So I wore a cardigan. But then it got warm, so I pushed up my sleeves. Then it got warmer, so I took it off, but it was a pain in the butt to carry, so I did that preppy "I'll put it over my shoulders" deal. By lunch time, I said screw it! and I threw it in the car.

crafty

2011-08-14T17:41:00.001-04:00

{Before & After}

I've been crafting a lot lately, and above is one of the finished projects. An "s" for my roommate Sarah, and a "d" for me, Dawn. We're going to hang them on our door, or in our room somewhere. I think they are super cute.

Also on the list of crafting this week (and pictures to come soon!)

A new lampshade for my new vintage lamp,
A redesigned corkboard,
New salt & pepper shakers,
And an ugly dress turned skirt. Whoo, just wait for that one.

coral me crazy

{Pictured above: Pashmina Scarf, Talbot's Crochet Skirt, Tommy Hilfiger Skirt,

Vera Bradley Headband, Premiere Designs Necklace,

Where have I been?! Well, two days last week I never actually got dressed. I spent my time cleaning and packing because, dun dun dun! school is starting soooon. I'm excited and not excited all at the same time. But overall, I'm excited. The other days, I was too busy to take pictures. What a lame excuse, but I'm sticking to it.

So, I figured I'd finally write the post that should have been poster 13 days ago on the first day of August. If you couldn't tell, this month's theme is "Coral Me Crazy." My newest obsession is coral, and I'm just in love with it. For some reason I love to wear it, put it on my lips, and my nails. And in my hair. I actually just bought the Talbot's skirt last night, so I'm glad I waited so long to post this :)

Keep checking back for the newest theme each month!

thank you!

2011-08-06T19:51:00.001-04:00

I have some thanking to do! Abby from The Closet Files gave me a One Lovely Blog Award! Abby is such an inspiration, since I've followed her blog from the very first post! I'm so touched! I've only been blogging for a few months, but it's great that she noticed me. And I have to thank everyone else who's ever looked at, commented on, and those who support must love color!

Once you receive a One Lovely Blog Award, you have a couple things to do:

Thank the person who nominated you!
Write 7 things about yourself,
Award your favorite bloggers with the award,
and let them know you nominated them!

So, here's my 7 things about me:

I have a pet chinchilla named Lewy. He's a peach :)
I've only been in one relationship, and I've been in it for almost 4 years now. They say when you know, you know, right? :)
I absolutely hate going to school and class, but after I graduate, I secretly plan on going to grad school.
I played softball, soccer, and lacrosse in high school. I was really good at softball, but not so much at the latter two.
I maybe might sort of kinda swear like a sailor...
If I ever have a baby girl (or girls) I'd love to put them in pageants. Don't judge me.
My biggest dream is to be super successful in life, and be able to buy whatever I want. I don't have the power for "world peace."

Now for the nominees! (In my best announcer voice):

Keep enjoying the weekend!

sea lions & starfish

2011-08-06T19:04:00.001-04:00

{Headband & Sunglasses: Vera Bradley, Dress: Pink Rose,

Sandals: Charlotte Russe, Clutch: The Limited}

These pictures are also from vacation. We went to SeaWorld...again. But that's okay, cause David's family loves SeaWorld, so I will too. We went to visit the sea lions and seals, and let me tell you, these guys are hilarious. We also went to see Cirque de la Mer (like Cirque du Soleil, SeaWorld style). These people are tal-lent-ted. Then we went to pick up starfish, which is really all that you can do with them. That seems lame, but, well, it is. Unless you have the patience to sit and wait for one to flip over. Which we did last year. Enough with the rambling, onto the outfit!

This outfit is my I-just-woke-up-I'm-definitely-not-doing-my-hair-so-I'll-wear-this-headband-and-oh-this-dress-looks-good-with-this-headband outfit. There you go. Easy, breezy, beautiful. Ha, you thought I was gonna say Covergirl. Riiiight.

polished

2011-08-04T22:50:00.001-04:00

{Cardigan, Shirt, Crop Pants: The Limited, Shoes: BCBG, Sweater Clip: handmade gift}

Thank God I work in air conditioning, or these adorable little crop pants would still be sitting in my very full and very small closet. I thought, Hm, I never wear pants, so I guess I will today. And it turned out to be a very good idea. #Winning.

How cute is this sweater clip too?! I saw one in a magazine, and told my boyfriend's mom about how cute they wore, and she made me two of them, this being one of them. I think they are so cute, and that they make any look more prim and polished. I have so many more ideas for more sweater clips. Except I'm calling them cardi-clips. And I'm bringing them back.

This outfit looks so much cuter in real life than is does in these crummy pictures. Can anyone help me? On a little point and shoot Kodak camera, what is the best setting to take pictures on? Night time? High ISO? Portrait? I need a professional photographer. Any takers? :) I will distract you from these fuzzy pictures with a picture of the flowers outside my house.

vacay day one

2011-08-02T21:59:00.000-04:00

{Cardigan: Fashion Bug, Top & Sandals: Charlotte Russe,

Shorts: LOFT, Clutch & Necklace: The Limited}

I wore this on the first day of vacation. We went to SeaWorld. It was a nice, cool, breezy outfit for fabulous San Diego. Unfortunately, throughout all the fun, we forgot to take pictures until maybe a little too late? Hence the darkness.

Buuuut besides all that, this outfit was simple and easy. And easy and simple. That's about all I got here people.
