Well, I finally have my first release completed & its available on a plethora of websites as of 25 Nov.  It's been a very long time coming.  I hope you like it as much as I do.  I've been working on this release for the past 6 years (off & on that is).  Track 2 was originally done in Orion Platinum, but then I rewired it into Ableton Live to finish it off.  The rest were done completely in Live.  I've been using Live since version 2.  I'm up to version 7 now...haha.

1. Don't flush every time.  London's Mayor has the right idea; so does this councilwoman in NC.  FYI:  there is no smell if you don't flush every time.  You can skip a few times before you even notice anything.   Businesses should start looking into waterless urinals as well. 
   


2. Install low flow aerators.  You can use them in any faucet & shower head.  You'll make your $3 back in the first month!
   


3. Water your lawn better.  Here are a bunch of tips.
   


4. Wash clothes smarter.  Use cold water and only when you have full loads.
   


5. Filter your own water.  Don't buy it.  It takes energy to transport water...use the system designed for it ~ your tap!  Plenty of bottled water brands aren't even as good as your own filtered tap water.
   

1. Use natural lighting.  Buy florescent, turn off the lights, & open those blinds (unless the sun is beaming directly in thus heating your place in the summer).  Use all that natural light that's free via the sun.  Amazing how many offices I pass at work that have them closed on a sunny day with the lights on.  Have a glare on your monitor?  Reposition your office furniture.


2. Change your computer's power settings.  In Windows ~ right click your desktop, properties or personalize, screen saver, & then power settings.  Have your monitor and hard drives turn off after 5 min (this will extend your hard drive's life too).  Also set your computer to hibernate after 20 min or so.  Your computer still uses electricity if you just sleep it. 
   


3. Caulk your house windows.  Sealing up my leaking windows in my rental saved $75 on the heating bill this Winter.
   


4. Shade your a/c from the sun.  Plant a tree near it to reduce the amount of work your a/c has in dissipating the heat.  You should also look into replacing it all together if it's worth it.
   


5. Reuse towels.   It's not just for hotels either.  You can do it at home & spend less time washing.  Send this link to your favorite hotel & tell them to get with the program!
   


6. Change your driving habits.  This one will show instant gratification for your wallet.  Link1 ~ Link 2.
   


7. Get your car tuned up.  Extend the life of your car while saving money instantly.
   


8. Think about the 3Rs in everything.  But Reduce, Reuse, THEN Recycle ~ in that order.


9. Defrost your food naturally.  All you have to do is think about it ahead of time.  You can also use standing water to defrost on short notice.
   


10. Remove yourself from mailing lists.  Reducing paper waste saves more energy than recycling it.
    


11. Tell your parents!  Old habits are hard to break, but you should try.
    

1. Windows Update :: Although not a program...you need to ensure you have ALL critical updates otherwise you're most definitely unsecure. It'd be like leaving the window to your house open 24/7 with a sign pointing to it! It'd be best to turn on the auto-updates. There's a link on Windows Update that will turn it on for you.
2. Update Notifer :: Helps you keep all your software on you PC up to date.
3. ESET (Virus Scanner) :: Yes, it's better than Norton & MacAfee and easier to use. It's not bundled with all kinds of other stuff...hence the reason it works better.
4. Ad-Aware (Spyware Scanner) :: This guy has been around the longest. To my knowledge...he was the first. I'm sticking with this guy because he actually cares and his program is pretty damn good.  Use the free version.  Buy Oupost (#7 in this list) for realtime Spyware protection.
5. True Image (Computer Backup) :: This is the only hard disk imaging program that I know that you can still work while it backs up (because it doesn't use DOS). The GUI is just about perfect on this one. This program has saved all my data from disaster about 5 times so far!
6. Open DNS :: Not software, but a faster, more secure, & just plain better Domain Name Server than your ISP.

Firefox Stuff

I highly suggest changing your Internet Browser to Firefox from Internet Explorer :: Because Internet Explorer sucks!  To make Firefox that much better, you can check out my non-inclusive list of favorite plugins for Firefox [in no particular order below].  You should also use My Yahoo as your RSS reader.

The second talks about NASA & the University of Illinois' Probe (the orange bot) that's about to undergo test runs in Wisconsin's Lake Mendota!!! I hope someone is doing a documentary on this!  There's no mention of Lake Vostok...but of a possible mission to Europa (Jupiter's Ice/Water Moon) in 2028.  Best stick to Earth for now.

Updated (28 Oct 2007):  It seems that the European Space Agency is about to decide on which missions to spend money on.  Let's just hope they pick Laplace & go to Europa!

OK, so we can send probes out of our freakin’ solar system, but we can’t seem to explore the most remote unexplored place (Lake Vostok) on Earth quick enough! Well, there’s a liquid lake the size of Lake Ontario underneath the Antarctic Ice Cap. Yup, there could be some blind ass aquatic dinosaur still alive down there. I know there are teams testing the drilling equipment that has to drill than 2 miles through solid ice, but there needs to be some serious money thrown at this project. Scientists say that the lake is divided which means there could be disticntly different life down there. For more info…click here.  Or you can check out the wikipedia link.

OK ~ round #3.  I listed what's left on Craigslist which is about 800 down from the thousands I used to own.  Time for them to go!
 

From Previous Post Dec 2005:  Well, no takers on the Ebay auction, but you can still go here to see my vinyl!  You can e-mail me if you want to buy it.  I actually had some guy try to get me to give him burned CDs of my collection & only 20% of the price I was asking for AND for my best 2 crates at that.  What an idiot.

From Previous Post from Nov 11th:  Holy hell, it's been 4 years since I started recording it all and I finally finished last night.  You have no idea how relieved I am!  I think I'm dropping Traktor & moving on to DJing with Ableton Live while using MediaMonkey as the database companion.
