Sci: 13/14 = 93% A and A*

In 2011, it was 100% A and A* for both subjects. The intake of students was weaker in 2012 as some students were from the average classes in the neighbourhood schools. Overall, the students have done well in my opinion.

I hereby thank all parents for placing their faith in me to help their kids excel academically. The kids have worked very hard along side with me to fulfil their potential. Like I always said, with proper preparartion, it gives the kids the best chance to do well in school assessments. I do not like to depend on luck. I would like to thank all the parents for their kind understanding for the fact that I was not around to help their kids prepare for the upcoming CA 1 due to my reservist training. The training has finally ended and I can resume normal service to all.

I have also received several requests for my services in the past two months. My apologies for being unable to render my service to some of you as we couldn't find a suitable time slot and distance was a factor.

My sincere advice to most parents is to grab your tutors early. Do not wait until January or February to do so. Most popular tutors like myself would be 90% or fully booked by January. Even the offer of more money can't buy our time as it wouldn't be ethical for us to sack our current students over money. As such, parents who sincerely want my service should just call and book me in advance. On hand, I have a few parents whose kids are already on the waiting list. The moment my P6 kids end their PSLE in early October, these kids will start their lessons with me. For parents whose kids are in P5 now and you want my service, it will be best to begin lessons in early October as that would give me a full year to prepare your kid for PSLE instead of just 8 or 9 months.

It's Another New Year and a Fresh Start!

Happy New Year! How are my dear ex-students coping with life in secoondary school? I hope you guys are doing fine. It's a fresh challenge and I hope you guys will savour every minute of it and soar to greater heights.

This year I've increased my responsibilities by having more students than in 2010. This is attributed to the group classes I have in operation. I will try my best to repay the faith of the parents who have entrusted their kids with me by helping their kids perform to the best of their ability.

Students and parents, let's make this year a better year than last year in terms of academic results. If we work hand in hand, I believe we will enjoy the fruits of our labour at the end of the year.

Merry Christmas to all! My students have finally received their secondary school posting.
Congrats to Eunice and Meghan for getting into Raffles Girls School and Riverside Sec respectively.
I wish them the best in their studies. Hopefully they can adapt well to secondary school life quickly.

PSLE Results 2010

Eunice Png, Canberra Pri, 268, 4 A*s. (2nd highest in school) (This girl is the one mentioned in the earlier post. After achieving 3rd in school in just 2 months with me after p5 CA2, she soared to greater heights. She achieved the 2nd highest PSLE score in her school. Well done. I like this student a lot. She's very diligent and obedient. She was underachieving when I met her. In 12 to 13 months, she managed to fulfill her full potential. She really put in a lot of effort and her results were deserving of her efforts. How I wish every student of mine is as hardworking as her. We're all happy that she has done well and make us proud.)

Meghan Chong, Evergreen Pri, 231, 4As. (This girl was underachieving by a big margin when she scored 51 in her P5 Math SA2. By P6 CA1, she scored 68 and when she took her Prelims, it was 78 already. She tried her best. Her family was happy with her performance.)

Ewen Seck, Nanyang Pri, B for Math (I'm glad he had a B. He had been scoring between 30-35 for his school exams for this year. His parents were very worried for him. Although he didn't do well in school, I assured his parents that I know what I'm doing. Based on my experience, I was pretty sure he can get at least a B and there's even a possibility that he can score A. The parents were a joy to work with. Always cooperative and accomodating.)
