Our washer is only 3 years old so I wasn't too concerned about it. It had been 15 years on the old machine without incident. Apparently you are supposed to change them every 3 - 5 years. Coincidently my good friend Chris recently told me his washer hose burst, filling his laundry room in his basement with water. The carpets sealed both the door and the drain spout on the floor. When he opened the laundry room door he got soaked. The water was spraying onto his fuse box.</div><div style="text-align: center;"> I added the electrical sparks for dramatical tension.
