BinFix

When the HTTP server sends pictures in a text or another plain format, instead of sending it in a correct mime-type format (e.g., image/png), your Opera browser displays strange results.
When it detects such a situation, the BinFix extension sends the request again by using Ajax. Then, the BinFix extension guesses the original format of the file, as if you were using a UNIX-like command.

BinFix can detect the following formats: jpeg, png, gif, pdf, rar, msi, exe, xz, lzma, gzip, bzip2, zip and some zip-based formats.

Google Virtual Keyboard

Google has developed a Virtual keyboard extension for Chrome that makes your confidential information secure I.e. when you are logging in or using your bank accounts and also allows you to type any character without using your keyboard.
Once installed, “Virtual Keyboard icon” will be placed in the address bar.

The best thing about this extension is that if you are visiting banking sites and logging into your email accounts on public Computers i.e. in your office or at some internet cafe, then it can be risky and insecure if there is some hacking script or key-logger is installed which can submit your keystrokes to the hackers. There comes virtual keyboard that protects you from such threats and allows you to enter text without using keyboard.
Virtual Keyboard pop ups at every page automatically with input boxes and text areas. You can show or hide Virtual Keyboard on all tabs by clicking the “virtual keyboard icon” in Omnibox. You can also use shortcut keys Ctrl + Space.

Read It Later Firefox Extension

Mostly it happens that you come across an interesting article, headline but you don’t have the time to read. In such situation, you book mark the web and then comeback to read it later. What if your bookmark list goes everywhere, access your bookmarks at non-Firefox browsers, at multiple computers and other devices i.e. iphones, mobiles, android etc.
Here comes the Firefox add-on named “Read It Later” that really solves this problem. After installation, you can see its icon at the address bar.

Now, let’s take a look at what features it offers you.

One Click Saving

Read It Later is very easy to use. You can add a page to your list by clicking on the icon. Just click the icon and current page will be added to list. You can view the list by clicking on the “Read It Later” icon placed at right corner. It will display a pop up menu containing your list.

This pop up allows you to view the page in Text Mode, edit the page title, and mark it as “Read”, search and sort the list.

Offline Reading

“Read It Later” let you download your pages so that you will still be able to access your pages even if you have no internet connectivity.

To download pages, just click the arrow in the pop up menu given above and a pop up will be displayed where you can select whether you want to download web view or text view of the page.

Stay in Sync

The best part about Read It Later is that your list goes everywhere. You can access your list from multiple computers. Read It Later even remembers your position in each article, so you can start reading on your computer, get up, grab your phone and pick up exactly where you left off.

Google Reader Integration

“Read It Later” is also integrated with Google Reader. If you use Google Reader then you will find “Read It Later” icon which enables you to add stories to your list.

Text View

If you want to view articles in text-only mode then “Read It Later” can extract the page contents and present them in a more readable and consistent way.

To do this, click on the “Read It Later” icon and click the “T” displayed after the page title

Click to Save Mode

By using this feature, you can save multiple pages or links to your list. To do it, you, press the ALT+M and “Click to Save” mode will be activated. Now each link that you click will be red marked instead of opening the link and automatically added to your list. By default it is deactivated.

Bookmark or Share when done

When you are done reading, you can share your pages on any number of popular bookmarking services (including just regular old Firefox bookmarks)

Save All Tabs for Later

If you want to save all the tabs for later use then simple right click the tab-bar and select “Save All Tabs for Later” and each page will be added to your list.

Ghostery: A Firefox Addon To Make your Browsing More Secure

Ghostery is a Firefox extension which makes your browsing save and secure by blocking the scripts that are trying to track and hack your information and browser habits.
Once installed, its icon will be placed in browser status bar.

When you will open page, it will display all the tracking scripts in a small rectangle in the upper right corner.

To get details about these scripts, click on the status bar icon and a menu will display you each tracker.

There you can check their description that what are these and which script they are using to track you. If you want to block theses trackers, just block them.

Today Safari’s Reader functionality is one of the most talked features which is a very nice way to reformat articles on blogs or news sites.
If you want to same functionality for your browser i.e. chrome or Firefox then iReader brings the same functionality to it. IReader allow you to read online articles in clutter free view without any distractions like menus, ads and other stuff. This is really helpful for the researchers and bloggers.

Pearltree: Teamup to organize, discover and share the stuff you like

Pearltree is a new visual bookmarking tool that helps you to organize your web page shortcuts in a much more intuitive way than the typical browser bookmark list. It also enables you to connect with other users who share similar interests.

A pearl basically represents a link to a web page. It’s an interactive object that you can move around your visual map. You can also share it with others who has “pearled” the same content and discuss it. The combination of pearls is called Pearltree. The closest analogy is to think of it like a folder that you can use to store pearls/URLs. Like a folder, you can expand and collapse it.

Once installed, first you have to crate your account at Pearltree.com. After setting up your account it will add buttons ion the address bar. Now if you want to share any page then click on the “add a pearl” button and the current page will be pearled as a new pearl.

To store this newly created, click the middle button which will allow you whether you want to create a new pearl or put in the existing pearls.

You can also create new pearls and pearltrees manually, using a horizontal window pane at the bottom of the screen.

Whenever you click on a pearl, the application pops up a window that displays information about it such as who has connected to it and who is discussing it. It also contains a screenshot of the web page; to navigate to that page, you simply click on the screenshot.

What is especially intriguing is that you can view other users’ pearltrees. In order to see other users, click on the “related pearltrees” blue halo and a bunch of other users icons will move into the view which you can explore at well.

If you find links of interest while browsing other users’ pearltrees, you can drag and drop them from that tree to the “drop zone” at the bottom of the screen. To view your pearltrees, double click your pearltree and it will take to your pearltrees.

View Source Chart: Inspect the DOM at Lightning Speed

If you’re a web developer and you have used Firefox's “View page source” to analyze the DOM tree then you know that it is really a time consuming and terrible activity to go through each line of code. Firefox has provided an easy solution to this problem by providing an add-on named as “View Source Chart”.

"View Source Chart" is an add-on that color codes the page source for easy browsing. It graphically shows you the tag boundaries, tag nesting order and hierarchy eliminating manual counting.

Now if you will hover over your mouse at any container, a tool-tip will display the code of that container even if the container is invisible.

You can zoom out the charts as well by pressing [CTRL + -.] This will really helpful when you are viewing very complex and deeply nested tags. By clicking on the containers will hide or display the tag containers.
“View Source Chart” is available for Firefox and Mac.

If you are a web developer then you know that during development “View page source” of a web page is how much important and helpful to analyze the DOM tree and syntax or logical errors.
I recently found a new add-on called “Source” which gives us more features and the feature those Firefox lakes. “Source” let you view the actual DOM tree of a web page as nicely highlighted code. This best thing about this is that it also allows you the edit and save the code to make development faster.
Once you installed, just open any page. Now right click the page and select the “source” from pop up.

This will open a new tab containing the page’s source. The code is nicely highlighted by different colors so that users can understand the code thoroughly. It even wraps the lines if code lines are too large.

Now take a look what features it is offering to you.

Viewing nicely highlighted page-source with clickable links (href, src, url), text wrapping, line numbers.
View source of the selected text.
Syntax highlighting for source codes that was opened in Opera.
It wraps the code if needed, and like in “Imagus”, there is horizontal scrolling feature if text-wrap is inactive and the scroll-height is 50% bigger than window's inner-height.
View NFO files in browser.
Centering plain text or NFOs.
Edit/view the source of the selected element or remove element with a single click
CSS formatting (for now it's really dumb)

There are some shortcut keys that you can use to work in a better way.
Press Ctrl+F9 for viewing the page source or the selection source. It works for frames too, first click on the desired frame and press the mentioned combination. If you are not sure that you are in a frame, or just want to check the top document's source, and then press Ctrl+Shift+F9. Ctrl+Alt+F9 [+Shift works too] will make an Ajax request (I think there is no better method for this) to get the original source.

If you want to get the meaning of any word on the internet quickly and easily with just a single click then chrome makes your work simple by offering you its plug-in called “Google Dictionary”.
Once installed, “Google Dictionary” icon will be placed in the chrome address bar.

Now all you have to do is just double click any word and a pop up will be displayed containing its definition.

You can get more definitions, web definitions and history by clicking the “Google Dictionary” icon which will display a drop down.

FireFTP

If you are a web developer and need a full fledged ftp client to upload files then you need FireFTP, which makes your browser a full featured FTP client.
Once installed, go to Tools menu of your browser and click on the FireFTP icon to launch it in a new tab. Now to create a connection, click on the “create an account” in the left corner of FireFTP tab. The Account Manager Dialog box will appear where you can give account details and login credentials. Once you are done, click ok and your FTP client is ready for you. It is like any other FTP client software, but the difference is that it is free, secure and cross-platform FTP client.

Here's one of the more useful Firefox extensions I've tried out in a while: VideoSurf. You get more than a link. You see frame-by-frame previews and summaries before you click. And when you’re searching through the standard engines, other suggestions come up to help you find what you’re looking for fast.

Once installed its icon is placed at the Browser’s status bar. When features are available for a site you’re visiting, the icon turns from gray to a blue “V”.

Turn VideoSurf on and images appear in your scan of the stream. Videosurf supports a variety of sites and provide visual summaries and related videos on

Once installed, the SiteAdvisor service integrates with search engine results from popular search engines (Google, Yahoo, MSN and many others) and also adds an icon to the browser toolbar that indicates whether a site is considered safe to use. This extension allows you to select and open multiple links/images in one go. Kwiclick is a Firefox extension that unifies all your searches and social sharing tasks. It aims to improve your search experience and efficiency by displaying all the stuffs in a non-intrusive window. It allows to do more work (search and sharing) without having to leave the current page.

Once installed, whenever you perform the search (in search bar), the search results will be displayed in a non-intrusive window where you can view the search results, move back and forth at different pages.

You can choose different site’s icon to get results from a specific web. These web icons can be configured from “Kwiclick configurations”.

Its feature is “Search Clover”. It will be visible when you select a word or phrase to search. After selecting a word and clicking on Wikipedia icon will display results from Wikipedia. Similarly you can search from Google search engine, twitter and Google maps.

When you are on media sites like Flicker, YouTube or Vimeo, you will immediately notice a new row of toolbar appear on top of the video/photo.

“Chromed bird” is a Google chrome extension build for twitter lovers. Its purpose is to provide its users an easy of access to twitter to make sharing more quick and simple. It may lack on things like on tweet video and picture viewing capabilities, but it is incredibly light weight and has all the basic functionality one would ever want.
Once installed, a twitter icon will be placed before browser’s address bar.

Clicking on it will display a light weight dropdown containing all the basic functionalities, a user needs. As you can see, this dropdown contains your recent or unified tweets, home, favorites, and DMs, lists, a tweet composer, an alert icon to alert you of new tweets.

If you want to write a new tweets then click on the “Compose Tweet” and the tweet box will be displayed which also let you upload files from there.

As the title explains it pretty much completely. “Similar Web” helps you find websites similar to the one you are currently reading. This extension provides you an easiest way to find the best sites as you search the internet.

This extension adds a little sidebar to your Firefox window and shows a list of websites that it thinks is similar to the currently loaded web page. You can view the list in two modes.

You can hide the sidebar and make it appear only when you want it using a button in the tool bar. In the sidebar, you can view the list of similar websites as a number of thumbnails, as a simple list or as very small icons.
