I am a passionate Teacher

How I became a teacher?

"The true teachers are those who help us think for ourselves" - Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.

I always have had a passion for teaching. During my school days, I got inspired by my teachers and their knowledge. While in art school, I admired my teachers' philosophy and thought processes. It was great to see how they brought their philosophy to a life-changing momentum through teaching.

Along with all those inspirations, I started teaching art to different communities as a university student, and thus the spark emerged in me. I realised my love for teaching and was happy being part of students' life. Education has become a lifestyle to me, not only inside the classroom but in everyday life. A good teacher should be a good inspirer, So I always try my best to educate my students with an excellent philosophy through art with international mindedness. Being an IB teacher, I could expand my teaching to the next level with the support of the community.

I am happy to be a teacher!

EXPLORING THE UNKNOWN ART

An interview of Raja sir By Aryan Raj Dhawan (VIII-A) and Ekansh Bharadwaj (VIII-B) of Step by Step School, Noida.

A1. The students were asked to make a short, one to two minute video with any topic that they desired. In this video they had to express their technical and aesthetic skills. A panel of 3 judges was set up to select the most talented students. They judged the students on the presentation of the video along with the creativity shown by the student in the field of editing and lighting. At the end of the selection process 14 students were selected out of the 48th who auditioned from middle school.

Q2. How can someone make his/her videos and photos, great?
A2. If one expresses oneself through one’s original thoughts and ideology, a great work of art will be created. One must also click candid pictures which will make the picture look even more gorgeous and natural too. Different camera angles can also be used to bring out different perspectives from which the object can be seen.

Q3. Do you think students should be selected on the basis of their interests or talents? Should they be given a chance even if they don’t excel in photography?
A3. This time around, 48 students from middle school auditioned from photography. We had to cut down on such a huge number, so that students could have a better and calmer learning experience. Form Evening is a big show and that’s also the reason why we can only take the most talented for the form evening. In our school, we learn photography in a different way as compared to the other school. We focus more on aesthetic skills rather than technicalities and treat photography as a tool of art. We want to teach students how to express through photography. This method makes learning very interesting and so many people wanted to take it as their role in the form evening. These people should also get a chance since they have an interest in photography. We are giving them a chance in the form of an option to join photography as a work experience.

Q4. What inspired you to pursue photography?
A4. I was brought up in a family of artists, which is from where I got most of my inspiration, since photography is also a form of art. I also took sculpture when I was in the College of Fine Arts. There I met these budding photographers who are now my close friends. After hearing them clicking pictures and talking about photography for forever and a day, a fire to pursue photography was stoked inside me.

Q5. What aspect of photography do you like?
A5. I like experimental photography as I get to explore the vast world of creativity which is one of the key features of fine arts.

"Jim Corbett" The man of brave and courage. Great hunter who killed several man eater tigers and leopards. Time can forget him but people couldn't forgot his attempts. When i entered the house felt so anxious to see all. After Read his live stories about tigers from the book "The Temple Tiger And More Man-Eaters Of Kumaon" made me to think about the personality more and great. My father used to tell about the stories of man eater's of kumaon and Jim Corbett when i was too young. The story visuals are still moving on my visual mind. Being inside Corbett's place made me so happy.

The 3rd Generation of Art

2011-01-17T13:08:00.001+05:30

This is my grandfather Mr.Navaneetha krishnan who was responsible for our Artist family. Myself is our 3rd generation in Art. He was popularly know as "Artoys Navaneethan" in our region. Artoys is the name of our studio. He learnt Art from his guru Mr.Ramasubhu in nagercoil and later he started his own studio at Ambasamudiram and my father was a kid in that time. soon after my father learnt art from my grandpa in his teenage and started helping in the studio and then they relocated to tirunelveli. Later my two paternal uncle's were join with him and started working. When i was a small kid i used to watch all of them and sat next to my grandpa watching what he is doing in his canvas?? that was my great inspiration which made me to start create art. Recently a person (my friend) who comes to know our family. He was so excited and asked me "how a business family can create art and surviving still depending only art for the 3rd generation?"" Thats really a great compliment for our family. Because my great grandfather Mr.Swamynathan was doing business and textile merchant. But my grandpa was not interested to make business because our great grandpa was failed in his business due to some reason when my grandpa was a kid. So he hate business and before completing his 7th class he went to join his guru to learn art. I could proudly say that i am rolling in our 3rd generation depending only art. Two of my cousin's were studied art and working now. My father still painting his canvases and the portrait of my grandpa painted by my father.

2010-04-06T08:38:00.000+05:30

Ooty Locomotive Engine

2010-04-05T12:43:00.000+05:30

Ooty train is popularly known as 'toy train', moving across the beautiful hills, and plains, making the journey a memorable experience. Ooty's train runs at a maximum speed of 33 km. per hour, crossing 16 long and short tunnels and 250 bridges.

The Queen of hill stations, Ooty is connected by rail through a narrow guage line from Mettupalayam, which is the nearest broad gauge railway station. The nearest broad gauge railway junction is Coimbatore. Towards the journey to Ooty, one can enjoy the scenic beauty of the lush green tea gardens and valleys with pine trees through the large open windows of the compartments.

The Ooty train traverses 46 km in four - and -a half hours from Mettupalayam. During the journey five stations come between Mettupalayam and Coonoor - Kallar, Adderely, Hill Grove, Runnymede and Kateri, and there are five stations between Coonoor and Ooty also. The Fern Hill station, was shut down a few years ago.

The construction of narrow gauge rail line for Ooty train was a big challenge because of the difficult terrain of Ooty. The first plan of the railway connections from Mettupalayam to Nilgiri hills was made in 1854, but was finally implemented in 1899. Swiss Locomotive Works made attractive wooden coaches with blue and cream colors and large windows to give a proper view of the beauty of the Nilgiri hills.
